- Lundström (5/5): Food poisoning from the hostel restaurant. - Easy pickup from the slow boat. Almost everyone stayed there. Got FOOD POISONING from the hostel restaurant!!! So watch out. Very disorganized to, some pepole did not get a bed. No locks to the dorm.

- Charlie (4/5): Nice enough spot and cheap for staying overnight during the Slowboat, but ruined by chaotic customer service - Very convenient location, restaurant had a lovely view of the sunset. Was chaos checking in, despite booking far in advance. Were brought to 3 different sold out rooms before they put us in a smaller room. The bunks in our room had no privacy, and the top bunks had no safety and felt extremely unstable.

- Boneratosairu (10/5): - The bed was very comfortable, with a lovely view of the Mekong River. They were waiting for me at the pier and offer a free shuttle back and forth. Since I arrived first, they let me choose my bed, so I was able to take the lower bunk. Shops, bars, and ATMs are all within walking distance. They also own the other hostels on the booking app. They’re in the same location, which honestly isn’t a bad thing.

- Daisy (6/5): Good for a one night stay. - It was super cheap for a one night slow boat stay, and the bed was pretty comfy. The shower was cold, no curtains on the beds. There were also no sinks in the bathroom.

- Arijit (8/5): Pleasant - Stayed only 1night while doing the slow boat from Thailand to Laos. Faced no issues. They also pack your food for rhe next day boat trip
- Matt (7/5): Decent room just for 1 night. - - Good location and great view of Pakbeng
- Staff friendly and kind
- AC worked well in the room
- Great breakfast - Lack of curtains between beds
- No sink or light in the bathroom
- Ryan (10/5): Great hostel in Pakbeng - Decent bunk, staff and restaurant
- Ellie (7/5): -

- Sean Paul Power (6/5): - Booked for the slow Boat. Thought we had a private room because it said full apartment on the booking.
When we arrived we had to pay extra for the private room.
The while Village lives off tourist from the slow Boat.
It's a bit overpriced for Laos. Booked for the slow Boat. Thought we had a private room because it said full apartment on the booking.

- Kyler (6/5): Not recommended. - Room was ok, once we finally got it. Unorganized and not similar to the photos. It took a while to sort out who was sleeping where. I would recommend staying in a different area.
- Nadia (9/5): - They offered a variety of food and drinks that were affordable for travellers! Only annoying thing was the plug sockets, they were on the side of the bed so i had to balance my portable charger on top of it! Also the top bunks of the hostel beds doesn’t have any safety pillars on the side
- Katherine (10/5): -
- Gaynor (6/5): - Good location, picked up from boat ramp and easy walk back to town. Clean bedrooms. Lots of broken buildings, no coffee facilities, basic bathroom with no toilet paper
- Jolene (8/5): Great stay :) The description might not be correct for the room that you get but I would definitely go back it was very - Very clean. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Hot water was very good. Air conditioner worked great. Looking back it's not I big problem but in the moment after a long trip on the public slow boat I was a little taken off guard that the description of the room I booked was not the room I got. BUT the place was wonderful and the food in the restaurant downstairs was great!
- Antonina (8/5): - Staff was very friendly; besides that there was a restaurant with a nice view to the river and food was tasty.
They picked us up from slow boat and drop us in the same place in the morning, everything was well organized.
We could also pay for baguettes and they would prepare them in the morning for the second day of the slow boat.
- Nadin (8/5): -
- Gai (8/5): Can’t go wrong at this price! - Free transfer from the slow-boat to the hostel. We ate dinner and breakfast here overlooking the Mekong (beautiful views) and got the packed lunch for the next day - yum. Spacious rooms. Clean.

- NADHIRADEE (6/5): - I'd say you got what you paid. Since this hostel is among the cheapest you could get in town. Can't lock toilet door from inside. Cockroaches everywhere. But good thing I'm not afraid of those creatures haha. But still, meaning to say here is the room is not clean enough as we arrive.

- Ffion (10/5): Exceptional - - Picked up and dropped me off at the pier which was great!
- Super good value
- Food was good & had lunch to go on the boat with from them
- Bed was clean and comfy
- Bathrooms where great N/A
- Nou (6/5): Pleasant -
- Danielle (8/5): It was okay for a night stay - It was very basic and did the job for the night It was a distance to walk from the boat drop off, around 15 minutes
- Brittany (10/5): Exceptional -
- Callum (7/5): Good -
- Cohen (8/5): Very good -
- Johnston (8/5): Very good -
- Thomas (8/5): Great layover stay for the slow boat - Great layover stay for the slow boat. Beds were comfortable and they offered transport to and from the slow boat itself.
Only thing is that the toilet didn’t stop spraying water out of one of the pipes.
- Joe (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jamie (9/5): Superb -
- Lucas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amelia (10/5): Exceptional - We stayed in the female dorm and the beds were very comfortable and everything was clean. The staff were so lovely and we would definitely recommend
- Oisín (7/5): Good -
- Marijn (9/5): Superb -
- Maëlys (9/5): Superb -
- Dennis (5/5): Passable -
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Murphy (8/5): Very good -
- Emily (4/5): Disappointing -
- Nicole (5/5): Not great, but was fine for the slow boat stopover. - Great sunset views from the restaurant. Takeaway lunches were perfect for the slow boat. Very disorganised management. Bathrooms were dirty, upper bunk beds had no railings, and the bathroom door didn’t shut properly (and definitely wasn’t lockable). But it was ok for one night.
- Brenna (4/5): Disappointing -
- Sandra (5/5): Well, it's just for one night - Instead of an 8-bed-dorm I was put a in a 4-bed one. Because they overbooked, the pushed the bunk beds apart to fit another matress on the floor.
No lock or handel on the bathroom door.
The place is still somewhat under construction.
Owner not very friendly, tried to overcharge me.
- Judith (2/5): Dreadful but you get what you paid 9£ for - Nothing really Quite literally a building site with 3/4 different hostels within it, very chaotic , wouldn’t go again
- Jonny (6/5): Pleasant -
- Danesh (8/5): Great overnight stay for the slow boat. - Pickup included from the port, and close to all the main restaurants to eat. Toilets and showers were perfectly usable, and toiletries and towels provided. The location is essentially the same as Mekong Backpackers. Slightly disorganised and my name wasn’t written on the pickup list from the port. They quickly resolved this however.
- Baptiste (1/5): Bad -
- Genna (8/5): Comfy dorm for the slow boat. - Shuttle was ready to drive everyone from the slow boats to the hostel. About 3 hostels were all connected buildings so don’t be confused by the signs. The 10 bed dorm room was super clean, 2 showers/toilets. Nice beds with towel and bar of soap provided. They offer breakfast and takeaway lunch at the hostel. They do accept USD but kip was more so just know the conversions beforehand. Shuttles back to the pier started at 7:40am but you could walk it in less than 15min. Just put your bag on the bed to claim it as they aren’t assigned. Nice local restaurant down the road No keys or lockers but it’s just for one night.
- Jenna (7/5): Very nice stay just get new mattresses - Very nice views from everywhere lovely staff who helped make lunch for us on the next day of the showboat The beds were rock hard
- Lior (7/5): Besides location, it’s comfortable for solo travelers. - It felt clean, and the beds were comfortable. The place has its own restaurant with a good view on the river and a free coffee stand to your use. The bathroom/toilet are inside the rooms. The place is quite far from the pier and its name is confusing. They have some sort of shuttle cars from and to the pier but I missed it because I thought the drivers with the signs were to another hostels so I walked all the way to the hostel by foot and it’s pretty far. The upper beds don’t have rails and are very high.
- Steven (7/5): The place to stay on your stop over - You get picked up at the pier to take you to the hostel, 5-7 mins walking if you choose to walk! It’s clean with excellent views to watch the sunset over the Mekong river ! They offer food, drinks and breakfast at an extra cost . There are ATM’s and SIM card available ,5 mins away from location, towel, soap provided, Wi-Fi and power points near beds - just a point for slow boat travels- if you want good seating in the am, you need to be getting on the boat at the latest 08:00am Nothing
- Isobel (9/5): A great place to stay - I had a lovely stay here, I was collected from the slow boat and taken to the hostel. I was in a 4 bed dorm room, the beds were very comfortable and clean. There was a terrace below with great views over the Mekong. It was a very short and pleasant walk back into the village where there are some restaurants and little shops to stock up on snacks for the boat. They drop you back off at the boat in the morning. Would highly recommend staying here. Nothing
- Flora (7/5): good for 1 night during the slowboat - Very nice balcony, beds were comfy, they pick you up from the slow boat pier no curtains at the beds, the staff was not really around and the bathroom door didn’t close properly
- Kursum (8/5): Very good -
- Jordyne (4/5): Disappointing -
- Stefanie (9/5): nice accomodation in Pak Beng with river and sunset view! - Very friendly staff brought me to a double bed room although I booked a dorm, so I was lucky to share it only with one other person. I had the nicest hot shower in all Laos! They bring you via tuctuc to the hostel and back to the slow boat peer. Nice terasse for seeing the sunset! You can order dinner. breakfast and take away food for the boat, prices are pretty much the same everywhere. There is also a very nice bar close by. Definitely recommend this place as it is very comfortable for the 1 night stop in Pak Beng! all fine
- Kareece (7/5): Good - Clean, hot water. Everything looks new. Very nice views of the river and sunset. I read the reviews and then booked 'a whole apartment' and was given a bed in a dorm room.... not surprised cause of the other reviews, but it def needs to be fixed up on the website that you are not in fact, able to book 'a whole apartment'
- Kirstie (5/5): Confusing stay but good - The driver that picked us up off the slow boat for dorm riverside dropped us at another property so didn’t actually end up staying at the place pictured but where we did stay was lovely (not sure what it was called).
- Thomas (4/5): Just below average - The bed was so hard, it was like sleeping on the floor
- Radoslav (3/5): Weird experience hopping on and off of the van until we found a room - You will not be left without a place to sleep. As others have mentioned, everything is a bit chaotic. They picked us up from the pier, but then the 3 of us waited about half an hour in the hostel. They made us pay and at the end it turned out we would not stay in the hostel. We got back inside the van to go to another accommodation, where they accommodated one of us in a shared room, then the two of us got back again in the van to go to another place. At this point it seemed that our driver was just looking for available rooms in the town, which felt pretty shady. Anyway, we stayed in a basic private room in a totally different guesthouse, and I was happy with it, however the whole ordeal was stressful and was not what we booked - a hostel with the other backpackers and a nice terrace.
- Marnie (9/5): Superb - After the reviews I didn’t expect much but was positively suprised finding super clean room and bathroom and a super comfy bed. It’s not pretty or anything but it’s great value for money and good for an overnight stay.
Vieng was a great help for everything.
PS if you’re not in a rush consider staying two nights in town to get a real local experience.
- Haley (5/5): Overall fine for a night, especially if taking the slow boat - They picked us up from the port and took us back the next day in time for our next boat ride. They also had take away food options for the boat ride which was nice because there’s only really snacks on the boat. The pictures don’t look the same as the hostel, and this hostel and the backpacker hostel are the exact same one, so just book whatever’s cheaper. It was super unorganized with them trying to find out who had paid because no one got asked for money the night of. The staff wasn’t friendly or helpful, but if your only staying one night it’s not a terrible option.
- Vanesa (6/5): Pleasant -
- Gabi (6/5): Pleasant - It is ok just for 1 nigth
- Hannah (7/5): Good - Very cheap and if you book in advance they pick you up from boat dock Far from restaurants, NO AC
- Olivia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Patrick (6/5): Pleasant -
- Juby (2/5): Very poor -
- Luca (8/5): Very good - Comfy beds, clean and pickup from the pier chaotic check in
- Maurice_brunner (3/5): Poor - free transport
nice take away lunch better deals in pak beng
alot of bugs
super chaotic
could not lock bathroom
no ac
- Sina (7/5): Nice place with terrace - Nice place to stay one night during the slow boat trip. They have a nice terrace where you can see the sunset. As every hostel they search their guests on the port when you arrive...
