- Hannah (9/5): - Beautiful location surrounded by nature - we loved seeing all the birds each morning at breakfast. Great hosting, delicious breakfast. Perfect for nipping to where we were having our fishing lessons down the road.
- Edmund (10/5): 10 out of 10 in every category - Excellent in every way. James was very friendly and helpful in spite of our late arrival. Very clean, spacious and well appointed. Excellent breakfast. Lovely gardens and views too.

- susan (9/5): Too short….We’d love to go back with time to explore. - Beautiful location but not too far from a village.
There are not lights on all night long!
Relaxed Old Edwardian country house feel.
Lashings of hot water for a big relaxing bath.
Beautiful rambling garden. We have an electric car. The nearest DC charger is InstaVolt in Dulverton which we thought was very convenient and had planned to use. It turned out the charger could not accept our connector…..this may be an InstaVolt problem as we managed to make it to the Lidl car park in Tiverton where there are chargers and on to Exeter and use the connector there no problem.
- John (8/5): Lovely location, owners pleasant and facilities reasonable. - Breakfast good, a bath would have been nice. No bath.
- Claudia (9/5): -
- StJohn (9/5): Brilliant find and if I return to Devon, I would stay again. - The cleanliness of the room, bathroom and dining room. The hosts were fantastic and I would recommend this hotel to others. Nothing, it was great.
- Bridget (9/5): Beautiful home in a lovely area with a smiley welcome. - The location was up a quiet lane surrounded by lovely woodland and fields.
The house is beautiful 1920’s home with large rooms and lots of light The decor is traditional yet minimal to give a modern feel.
The bedroom was big enough with a comfortable bed.
The bathroom was modern yet with a roll top bath. The bathroom was across the hall but private with dressing gowns provided so no problem to us at all.
We received good communication and a lovely welcome with offers of tea and scones.
We enjoyed a walk through the grounds after our delicious breakfast. There was nothing not to like but worth noting there are no TV’s but well stocked library.
Also unusual for such a substantial home that noise did carry through the building.
- Janet (10/5): Extremely quiet location, very peaceful & enjoyable - Everything, location, accommodation, very friendly hosts Nothing to say
- iain (10/5): Super quiet location, lovely hosts - our 2nd stay and will be back ! - Super … homecooked at its best
- Marie (9/5): Hosts are welcoming, the rooms are very comfortable and the location is stunning. - Beautiful location and grounds, very homely and the rooms are spacious and comfortable.
Also excellent showers. N/A
- paola pantaleoni (9/5): - ho apprezzato, in particolare, la cura dei dettagli nell'arredamento della casa, tutti di buon gusto e perfetti per la location.
- James (10/5): A relaxing atmosphere in a beautiful house and gardens - A beautiful house and gardens that had a lovely relaxed atmosphere. From roaming the garden up close to nature to relaxing over a delicious and extensive breakfast we enjoyed all our time here. We had to leave.
- Simon (8/5): A pleasant experience especially if you want to get away from it all.. - The breakfast was very good with plenty to choose from. The location was beautiful with a great garden plus woodland. Lots of butterflies and scented plants such as jasmine. Above all quiet and relaxing. The owners James and Amanda made us both most welcome. The water supply was from a spring, wonderfully soft and good to taste straight from the tap so no need for bottled water! The weather was in a heat wave. A minor thing - Fans in the bedroom would have been a bonus however we brought our own!
- Jennie (9/5): Beautiful house and gardens . Wonderful hosts! Offered a full English breakfast- delicious! - Beautiful house and ammenities! Wonderful breakfast. Lovely gardens. Able to wander freely around the huge garden. Hosts were very friendly and helpful. It was nice seeing the birds fly in to the feeder- we even saw a squirrel which we don’t see in Australia. Nothing.
- Joanna (10/5): Nutsford House is exceptional place, peaceful, quiet, in the middle of stunning nature! - Delicious breakfast!
- Claire (10/5): Delightful place to stay with the loveliest hosts - The peaceful location and tasteful decoration
- Astrid (10/5): Great all-round - Very clean property, and very friendly hosts. Breakfast was great too. The only thing was that the bathroom is not an en-suite, but it is literally across the hall from the room so it’s really not a problem.
- Theresa (10/5): A perfect, restful, restorative stay - The tranquility of the surroundings, the offer of a cup of tea and scones on arrival (what a treat). The breakfast was excellent, and to top it all off was the comfort of the bed - sublime. Nothing, everything was super
- Kim (9/5): It was a restful time in a beautiful countryside. - The welcome Devonshire scone on arrival was a nice touch! The full English Breakfast was freshly prepared and excellent. Eggs were done as requested. You will get fresh laid eggs if the hens laid them. The toast was delicious. The home-made jam and marmalade were very good.
Our hosts, James and Amanda were welcoming and friendly. They showed their concern when one of us was not well. They really aimed to make our 4-night stay as comfortable as could be. Nothing in particular.
- Ceri (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elizabeth (9/5): Wonderful location for nature-lovers, comfortable and delicious breakfast - Nutsford House is a superb place from which to experience Exmoor and the valleys in the area. The gardens are beautiful and the hosts are really friendly. The breakfast was delicious and cooked with care, and the dining room looks out on the front of the house. The birds in the garden were a real treat. The house did smell quite strongly of the dog that lives there, but we got used to that after a while. But it was a little off-putting initially. The stay was faultless otherwise.
- Morna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ella (10/5): Quiet, excellent value and breakfast! - A beautiful quiet location on the edge of Exmoor in lovely grounds and many birds coming and going. The room was very comfortable and clean, bathroom was great. Really impressed by the homemade breakfast and James and Amanda were both very friendly.

- Christopher (9/5): Superb - Great hosts, lovely breakfast, comfortable beds and very quiet location
- Cave (9/5): Had a perfect stay and Amanda was a really lovely host. - Great veggie breakfast Nothing
- Cathy (9/5): A thoroughly positive and enjoyable experience. - Nutsford House is a beautiful, secluded property with spectacular views. All the rooms are spacious and well-appointed. The traditional furniture is a notable feature. The choice of breakfast is better than most. It would be difficult to find any fault with Nutsford House; the proprietors are friendly and attentive, and the dog and cat are a bonus! Nothing could have been improved.
- Samantha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Peter (9/5): A real gem. A beautiful grand 1920's home. Fabulous location and hosted by a lovely welcoming host. - Amanda was very welcoming and the house is beautiful and nicely presented. On arrival we were offered homemade scones and tea - Delicious. The room was very clean and comfortable and the bathroom luxurious and spotless. Breakfast was superb. We took the opportunity to wander around the 10 acres of grounds and woodlands in the morning before we left and it was charming. Call me a heathen but I wasn't a huge fan of the homemade baked beans, although everything else at breakfast was superb. A tiny point and clearly subjective !!! We loved our stay.
- Jahan (10/5): Beautiful home with excellent facilities - Beautiful home in the middle of the countryside. The facilities are excellent and with great personal touches to ensure you feel at home. - Rebekka (10/5): Lovely place, felt like right out of a Jane Austen film - James and Amanda are very great hosts. We were warmly welcomed with tea and scones, and had the best full English breakfast ever during our stay. The beautiful house in the middle of Exmoor landscape is lovingly furnished, has a lovely little library we were free to use and a big beautiful garden from where we could even spot some deer during a walk around the place. It was a pity that we had to leave so soon! Thank you so much for everything! We will definitely come back!

Had a spacious bedroom, comfy bed & nice bathroom with super shower. The lovely pets were friendly & sweet (retriever dog & 2 cats). Amanda & James were welcoming & friendly, & gave us useful info. re places to visit & where to eat. Breakfast was very tasty (especially the date & cinnamon omelette, yummy!) The garden was beautiful & natural such a peaceful environment. The whole place & area was relaxing & quiet. Would have stayed longer if we could have. For us: Nothing. Facilities very good, plenty of hot water and the breakfast outstanding. Nothing

- Evangelos (10/5): Don't miss that one! - My stay at Nutsford House near Dulverton was nothing short of delightful. Nestled within a sprawling countryside estate, the atmosphere was serene and picturesque. Accompanied by my mother, we were warmly welcomed into a charming double bed bedroom that exuded comfort and tranquility.
The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the warm hospitality extended by the owners. They were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making us feel right at home. Their furry companions, a cat and a dog, added an extra layer of coziness to the ambiance, which we thoroughly enjoyed.
The breakfast served was a delicious spread of local delights, providing the perfect start to each day of our stay. From freshly baked pastries to hearty cooked meals, every bite was a treat for the taste buds.
