Guest Reviews
- Sally (9/5): Had everything we need, hope very much to stay there again. - Location! Very comfortable! Honestly nothing! It’s very charming and quaint.
- Lynda (8/5): Lovely little cottage, great location and off street parking. Would use again. -
- Rikey (10/5): -
- Pam (8/5): A pleasant cottage in a quiet location near to the centre of town. - The cottage was very clean and tastefully decorated. Parking was easy and it was a short walk into town Better blinds or curtains
- Katie (8/5): -
- Caitlin (10/5): - The location was perfect, we were at a wedding close by but then went into town the next day. The house was absolutely beautiful, lovely and clean. When the hosts were unsure if they'd left us enough toilet roll they even rang to check and left us some extra which showed how much they actually cared about our stay!! Lovely house would absolutely stay again. Nothing!
- Marilyn (8/5): - Accommodated us at short notice. An easy walk into town
- Roddy (8/5): -
- Robert (10/5): - Everything lovely cottage very clean well worth the money
- Cole (10/5): - Love Skipton as a place and can't ask for much better than this little cottage to stay in, an easy walk into the town and all the main attractions, bars etc.
Warm, comfortable and a little quirky also. Both beds were perfect and we had a great night sleep each (which is saying something given the night befores cocktails). Didn't use the kitchen but nice size also. Shower and bathroom spacious with plenty of light.
Mix up on my part about check in meant I completely missed the check in message and calls during the day but appreciate the follow up call to make sure everything was indeed ok. The all too short stay 😄
Nothing really bar the slight anomaly of the bedroom nearest the stairss being a step down and a step back up to the toilet but this is the cottages make up. Leaving a stair / bathroom light on during the night would be reccomended if staying.
- Deborah (7/5): - Location excellent We took my elderly mum who has health issues the stairs in property need a hand rail
As nothing to hold when going up and downstairs
Wasn’t the cleanest probably needs extra time for the finest touch I would call sparkle clean
Mould in the shower
- Jody (9/5): - Great location, well maintained, cosy warm and comfortable
- Stephen (9/5): In the main very enjoyable - No spare toilet rolls
No kitchen roll
No salt or pepper
- Katie (8/5): -
- Nicola (10/5): Comfy Yorkshire cottage. - Well located. Walking distance to skipton town centre.
Roadside Parking close by - no permit needed.
Good facilities - comfy bed, good shower, tea & coffee for a cuppa. Only suggested would be a telly in the bedroom.
Suggestion of shower gel/shampoo refills instead of the tiny bottles. Could be more cost effective for you.
We wanted to visit the Vaults cafe for breakfast but it didn’t open until 12. Next time 😀
- Emma (8/5): - Clean comfy welcoming A cafetière for making coffee would have made it a perfect stay
- Carl (9/5): really nice terraced house, good facilities - It was a little further out than expected but was very nice! Towel rail started rattling in middle of night, took a while to find switch, but all good really
- Emma (10/5): - Great little cottage and host very contactable! Would highly recommend xx All good!!
- Nicole (9/5): We had to book here due to an issue with our first booking and so glad we found it! - Was lovely and clean. Perfect location Nothing
- Gillian (9/5): Short but sweet stay in Skipton - Beautifully clean, well appointed and convenient for the town Only small issue was the lack of glassware…only 2 wine glasses and two champagne flutes for 4 guests. It didn’t spoil our stay but it would have been helpful if there had been a few more
- Gaynor (10/5): Perfect weekend - Lovely little cottage and just a short walk from the centre of Skipton Nothing it was spot on - warm (and it was freezing outside), comfortable and very clean
- Christopher (9/5): All in all a good trip We were walking around Malham cove area so it was nearby - Opened the door to a warm cosy well decorated clean cottage in an excellent location Would have liked to seen a couple of Christmas decorations
- Thomas (10/5): -
- Jane (7/5): Nice cottage - The location. The stairs.
- Watt (9/5): Walkers get away - Location, parking and cleanliness were excellent. Cosy and warm. Comfy beds and good quality towels and bedding.
Easy 5 min walk into town. We didn't encounter any problems
- harriet cooper (8/5): - The location was fabulous and communication excellent throughout our stay. The beds were very comfortable and the shower is great. I liked everthing but a few more knives and forks etc would have been useful and more glasses too.
- Jessica (10/5): Perfect stay ! Thank you so much x - Everything ! We have had a lovely stay , great location could walk into town in 5 mins , we stayed to visit the polar express train which was a 7 min drive away x Property was clean and had everything we needed for ourselves and our baby , many thanks to our wonderful host x We loved everything , it was magical x
- Karen (10/5): - Everything was lovely There was a large gap around the front door. There was quite a draft.
- Elisabeth (8/5): A very enjoyable short break - The shower was great! We also loved being able to walk into the town easily. The property was very clean, warm and quiet, and the Wi-Fi was easy to access and good quality. Getting a parking space outside the house was never a problem, either. We very much appreciated being invited for a free drink at the owner's café-bar, although, unfortunately, we didn't get there. The house has a lovely atmosphere, and we'd very happily stay there again! The dining table and chairs were a bit wobbly. It would have been nice to have some pegs by the front door to hang our coats on, and on the back of the bathroom door for clothes or dressing gowns. And a toilet brush would be a useful addition to the bathroom, as would a washing up bowl and dish rack be to the kitchen. Not having a handrail on the stairs increases the risk of an accident and makes access difficult for a less mobile person. The door to the cellar ought to be locked/ bolted.
- Sally (8/5): Great location in a lovely town. - Very clean, nice bedding and towels. Comfy beds. Good location - easy 10 minute walk into the centre of town. It would be great to have a dishwasher.
- Sonya (7/5): good - Clean and nice Kitchen items limited, would benefit from a few extra items, such as glasses, teapot and cafetiere.
- Foster (10/5): -
- Liana (9/5): -
- Ian (8/5): Fine, basic place for an overnight - Basic cottage, clean enough and basic facilities
Beds were large and comfortable Very basic property
- pilling (10/5): -
- peter (10/5): Excellent. - Well appointed. Close to town. Comfortable rooms.
- Rachael (8/5): Nice place to stay with my sister. Would book agai . - Clean and convenient for Skipton Centre and surrounding area.
Comfortable No tea towel!!!
Otherwise fine
- Yvonne (9/5): Nice little house, but be careful with the stairs - This was a nice little house. It was great that there was a washer and dryer, though the dryer didn't produce heat. The little fireplace was very cozy. The furniture was a bit low, and the most pressing issue was that the stairs did not have a hand rail. Rooms were comfy and the place was clean- but for older people and kids, might consider that the stairs are steep and have no rail. Otherwise a nice stay and the electric fireplace was nice on rainy chilly day The stairs had no rail, which made them a bit tricky for older people.

- sally (10/5): - The space & layout of the house was great. The bedrooms were a really good size. Easy location to walk to town meaning once the car parked up everything in walking distance. Nothing
- Kim (10/5): Great location for Skipton just a short stroll to the centre. - Great location, property was clean and very cosy. Super comfortable beds with lovely bed linen. Nothing.
- Alison (9/5): -
- Edel (6/5): Great location and comfortable stay, though a few small improvements would make it a more pleasant stay - Great location as short distance from Skipton
Tidy comfortable house There was only half a roll of toilet paper on arrival, which meant we had to go out and buy some (I noticed other guests have mentioned this as well). Hopefully the ones we left can be used for the next visitors — it seems like a simple fix that would make the stay more enjoyable. It would also be nice to have some shampoo provided.
We found the beds a little too soft for our comfort, and the checkout time felt quite early. Blackout blinds would also be a good addition.
Finally, the stairs are quite steep and without a handrail, which could be difficult for some guests.
- Jean (9/5): Ideal for what we wanted for a stay in Skipton - Excellent location, short walk into the centre of town and the castle. The cottage had everything we needed for our stay, it was clean and comfortable and had all you would expect for a holiday stay.
- Hilary (10/5): Very pleasant overnight stay at this lovely property, well located for Skipton centre and for journey into the beautifu - There was nothing to dislike. 2 good sized bedrooms, comfortable lounge, loved the outside courtyard
- Carol (8/5): Overall, we had a lovely couple of days in skipton - House was well presented. Sofa was comfortable. Only a short walk to centre of Skipton No toaster. Bed was a little too soft. Hand towel in bathroom was either stained or used. No toilet roll holder.
- penelope (8/5): Overnight stay in comfortable accommodation in great location. - One night stay in lovely cosy house with everything we needed. Great location and very comfortable beds
Lovely touch of being given free drink in the hosts cafe bar in town
Very prompt responses to any queries.
Had lovely stay and wish could have stayed longer. Nothing to note
- Kay (9/5): - Lovely little terraced cottage with on street parking, short walk to town. Nice private little yard at the rear. Very clean, decent shower. Stairs were a little steep/awkward angle with no bannister but not an issue for us. We couldn't fault it; there was only one very minor issue ... we could have done with more toilet roll, had to go and buy some but it wasn't exactly the end of the world.
- angela (10/5): Everything we wanted - The property was lovely and clean comfortable and ideal for walking in to town Everything
- Barbara (9/5): -
- Elizabeth (6/5): Very enjoyable - Staircase quite dangerous no banister on last three steps very dangerous I have to walk behind my daughter and help her down the stairs every time she went to the toilet that is the only fault
- Moira (9/5): Lovely cottage. We had a comfortable overnight stay. - Food was good, our preference would have been for a quieter environment but service good, waitress lovely Kitchen knives were not sharp . We were only staying a night, but kitchen was not very well equipped for anyone preparing meals.
Possibly a warning on the door from the living room to the cellar
- Cliff (7/5): Good - Lovely cottage. Clean good location Outside yard was not clean. Table and chairs old and scruffy. Wanted to sit out for breakfast but needed good clean. Was no toaster
- Richard (10/5): Brilliant - Quaint and clean and bright lovely decor Nothing
- Lynda (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent location. Walking distance to town. Such a cute little cottage. Very comfortable. Even the sheets are excellent quality. Nothing
- James (8/5): Very good -
- Darran (10/5): Exceptional -
- Oliver (10/5): Exceptional - Very homely, comfortable beds and a lovely hot rain shower. Nothing
- Shields (10/5): Great stay overall - Checkout is too early
- Clive (8/5): Very good -
- Elizabeth (9/5): Enjoyed - Very clean. Location walkable to major areas wanted to visit. Having washing machine was great. Kitchen reasonably equipped. Fire TV great to have.
Sofa and bed were ok, not fabulous. Couldn’t figure out dryer.
- Tracey (8/5): Very good -
- Colin (7/5): Cosy and comfortable cottage in a good location with easy parking - Good location and a cosy cottage, comfortable and warm. Walk - in rainforest shower was a nice surprise, there had been no photos of the bathroom so we didnt know what to expect. Quiet street and good parking. Bit tricky to cook or prepare a meal - no oven proof dishes or trays, no oven gloves or dish drainer or even a pan scrub or sponge. And if you live on real coffee like we do, you will need to pop out for some. No pod or coffee machine and not even a cafetiere here.
- Frank (10/5): Excellent location and proprty - Liked everything including visiting The Devernshire Volt
- Janine (10/5): Wonderful - Beautiful place The just was very nice and helpful
