- Tom & Cathy (10/5): - Great space for parking. The room was lovely, with the ability to have doors open at night. Great night, sleep.
Dining was wonderful for evening meal as well as breakfast. Nothing

- Jon (8/5): Great location and lovely hotel. - Very comfortable bed.. parking available. Breakfast was excellent.
The bed was huge and really soft and comfortable. No shower cap and initially an unpleasant smell in the bathroom !
- Gwen (10/5): I would recommend in a heart beat!! - Room was beautifully decorated, bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was fabulous!! I loved everything about this place...especially the freshly baked cookies brought to our room.
- Jessica (10/5): - The food was fantastic, particularly at dinner. We are foodie people and were all delighted with our choices. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The garden was lovely and the room was overall very comfortable. It was a sunny day and the room was very hot. There was a cooling unit in there which helped a bit but it was still hard to sleep due to the warmth in the room. This was managable in May but would maybe put me off staying in the summer.
- Liam (10/5): Highly recommended - Fantastic location, easy parking and great breakfast.
- Douglas (9/5): Great hotel in a lovely place. - Well appointed hotel in a lovely location with access to excellent country walks.
Breakfasts were excellent and staff friendly and helpful.
- Paul (7/5): Nice but expensive - Nice hotel and property. Good breakfast. Expensive for what you get.

- Julia Wells (10/5): - A great stopover on the South Downs Way. Peaceful, tasteful with a lovely garden and great food, in a beautiful old village in the lovely riverside countryside.
- Frances (10/5): - Breakfast was delicious and the breakfast room itself is lovely. The whole atmosphere of the hotel is wonderful. It's very relaxing and everything is very well managed. The location is wonderful, with beautiful walks nearby and the village is charming.
- Francesca (8/5): wingrove house, such a special place to stay - I did like the setting overall: this is a special place, it has a flair so pleasant and conforting. it was my second stay here for a study in the Lodge with the London literary salon. I loved my room on the ground floor, it was quiet and confortable. Breakfast is also generous and cooked eggs are ever so tasty. We did have dinner there as a group, it was good too. last but not least, staff have been always kind and prompt :-) The outside veranda could have been cleaner, just to sit outside with a cup of tea; the closet was a bit tight even if i was there for just a few days

- Steve (8/5): Pleasant stay - Staff, the warm atmosphere, comfortable room with quality toiletries, car parking and an excellent breakfast. The blind in our room didn't fit too well so consequently, our sleep was interrupted as sunlight flooded in around 5-6am.
- Agnes (10/5): -
- Matt (8/5): Nice property - Lovely Terrace. Stayed in room 5, strange intermittent noise throughout the night, like a pump turning on and off.

- Andrew (8/5): A really lovely comfortable and elegant homely hotel with great colonial style - with potential to offer even more if mo - The hotel has a lovely elegant colonial feel The terrace in the summer time is lovely and the verandah for rooms 3 and 4 is fabulous The rooms are very comfortable indeed - lovely crisp linen and comfortable beds The staff were really very nice and also unobtrusive so you feel like it is home The showers are perhaps a little cramped and underpowered I really think a lot more could be made of the restaurant space It is a great space but feels a little empty and not intimate so we were tempted to eat elsewhere in the evening

- Andrew (10/5): Beautiful decor, average bed and breakfast. - Gorgeous decoration and nice large cat park.
The bed was ok, pillows good.
Breakfast was ok.
Good location for a family event. Bed was a bit lumpy.
Breakfast average.
- Louise (9/5): Excellent Alfriston stay - Lovely building. Great location. Very comfortable room. Excellent warm shower room. Delicious kipper at breakfast. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Would have liked a mug rather than cup in room for tea.
- ruud (9/5): Basecamp for our seven sister walk. - Nice hotel, good breakfast. Location close to seven sisters.
- deryk (10/5): -
- Martin (10/5): Class act in a wonderful location. - Elegant and comfortable property, short walk to centre of village. Nothing

- Janetma51 (10/5): A Gem - We loved the location, the restaurant, the delicious food, the staff. Excellent breakfast. The hotel seems to have been recently refurbished with a good bathroom in our room. The walk-in shower was great. We really appreciated the view across to the church and the village green and the hills. We stayed in early April. Room 12 was a little on the small side but perfectly good. The balcony and the view made up for it.
- Julie (10/5): An excellent stay - Excellent beautiful location and hotel.
Very comfortable bed and exquisite linen and pillows.
A very extensive and delicious breakfast Kettle lead too short to reach plug socket so had to heat water with kettle on the floor!
Need higher plug sockets for hairdryer short lead as well.

- trudy (10/5): - Position , gardens,food,staff all were superb
- chiara (8/5): -
- Martin van der A (8/5): Good expensive hotel - Nice restaurant area also for breakfast, great chef. Coffee at breakfast not good, room nespresso machine saved the day. High pricing for both dinner and the stay, especially in a smallish room with a noisy ventilator in the bathroom.

- Dominic (10/5): Exceptional, looking forward to next stay already - Staff were excellent from the moment I walked in. The lady was so pleasant and checked me in without any issue. Room was spotless, bed was so so comfortable. Dinner was lovely, Jess was superb as was the guy who served me, service is exceptional which is one of the reasons i keep going back. Breakfasst was delicious too The internet isnt great but i understand its not just the hotel;, the village isnt great.
- James (3/5): Room had no heating, then moved to another room that was the same. Finally moved to another room. - Breakfast No heating in room.
Moved to another room with no heating.
Then moved to a third room with heating, but tiny TV and uncomfortable bed.
- Mary (10/5): A wonderful relaxing stay. - The house, the staff, the food, the location, the garden. Everything was perfect.
- Kevin (9/5): -
- Sam (10/5): -
- Jason (10/5): -
- Uday (9/5): Incredible boutique hotel with an excellent restaurant - Boutique luxury, incredible restaurant, great staff Room was a bit hot on the top floor
- Adam (10/5): Excellent decor and lovely clean warm room in a period property - Excellent decor and lovely clean warm room in a period property
- Susan (8/5): - We loved the location of this hotel. All the amenities of the village - lovely shops and restaurants - were just a short walk away and the South Downs Way was on the doorstep too. We enjoyed the countryside views from our window. Breakfast was very good too. The staff were friendly and helpful. Dinner in the restaurant was disappointing and the soundproofing of the bedrooms wasn't very good.
- Jenny (9/5): - Location was amazing. Everything about the stay was excellent. Nothing to not like.
- Scott (10/5): My first choice stay next time I’m in the area. - Small scale, intimate family owned feel, a comfortable and quiet room, a nice blend of period property character but modern comforts. Enjoyed the guest lounge with a coffee and complimentary newspapers, each morning after breakfast. All staff members were very friendly, welcoming and took time out to ensure I had everything I needed.
- Heather (10/5): - Both very good
- Amanda (8/5): Delightful, welcoming stay, will go again. - The location is idyllic, the facilities and ambience are delightful. Staff friendly and very helpful. The food great, rooms lovely too. We would go back again for sure. A few feedback tips to consider . There is no safe in the room. We were traveling from overseas so had nowhere to safely put our passport/purse etc! No room service for food, which we found strange. So nothing available outside of the restaurant hours. Two small incidents in that when we asked for some more water we were told to come down and get it (we had had a late shower and didn’t bother as didn’t want to get dress to go down and get it),whereas a previous occasion someone came up and delivered the bottles. On the last day a black bag of rubbish was left in our room from the housekeeping by mistake. No big deal, but not really acceptable when you consider what you are paying for the room. No real big complaints but things that can be improved. We would go back again though, as it is a lovely hotel to stay in.
- Lack (9/5): Lovely hotel with excellent staff - Great location, exceptional food, comfy hotel and staff who went out of their way to make our stay memorable! Nothing
- Lancashire Lad (2) (7/5): Lovely hotel but disappointed with the room - It’s a lovely building, elegant with a distinctive style. Communal areas were very nice and the whole place was beautifully furnished and decorated. Breakfast was very good (apart from some curiously weak decaf tea and the even more curiously soggy toast). The room. Ok we had the “cheapest” room - standard double - but we’re still paying £138 (non refundable). It was cramped - not enough space to put things (eg there were massive bedside lamps taking up most of the space on the small bedside tables). But the main issue is that our room - Room 5 - is right on the street. It was hot (even with the window open in March) and there’s lots of traffic noise - it really is very close to the road. I would only stay again if I could be guaranteed a room away from the road and I think Room 5 is overpriced. I slept badly.
- Heather (10/5): We will return - The location was in a pretty village our room overlooked a green and a church. Everything was excellant. I was very impressed by the quality of the toiletries better than some 5 star hotels that I have stayed in . Nothing
- Richard (9/5): -
- Chris (8/5): - Excellent breakfast and dinner
- Luolin (10/5): -
- Paul (10/5): -
- Andrew (8/5): We enjoyed our short stay. Excellent walking on the South Downs and surrounding areas - Location Shower badly designed and small room
- Andrew (9/5): -
- Elizabeth (10/5): Alfriston special - Everything. A very nicely run comfortable B and B. Staff were super helpful Nothing
- lucia (9/5): -
- Aimee (9/5): Great night away, would highly recommend Wingrove House - Really lovely room, beautifully decorated house and the breakfast was very generous...buffet with pastries, fruit and yoghurts and also a choice off the cooked menu, all included in the price. Friendly staff and pretty surroundings. Would definitely stay again.
- Catherine (9/5): - Staff were excellent. Friendly but professional - nothing was too much trouble.
Lovely room & very comfortable lounge.
Excellent restaurant & food was just beautiful - great music too.
Lovely log fires, decor & atmosphere - it definitely is like spending a magical time in another era - wonderful.
Definitely rebook. Only minor consideration is a mirror in the room near to a plug to dry hair - otherwise you have plug into a room socket then stand around the corner in bathroom - not a deal breaker, but a convenience. Maybe a larger room is different. We had No. 11, which was a lovely room anyway.
Thank you for looking after us so well.
- Mark (10/5): - It’s a wonderful hotel in a beautiful village setting. Elegant rooms, attentive staff and tasty breakfast. Nothing
- Anja (9/5): Man hat sich gleich wohl gefühlt - Sehr schönes Ambiente, zuvorkommendes Personal, heimelige saubere Zimmer
- Rachael (10/5): -
- Andrew (10/5): Beautiful hotel and amazing staff - Hotel had a lot character Very minor but very hot in the room even with the window open and radiator off.
- Philip (8/5): -
- Justin (10/5): Very comfortable - Great, very comfortable, friendly staff and nice breakfast, shame it was a work trip so a fleeting visit. The snib was left on door, I arrived back at 1115 and couldn't get in, but someone came down an let me in.
- Rachel (9/5): Friendly staff & although very quiet - all the lights, candles etc lit to make for cosy stay. - Location and ambience Nothing
- Simon (10/5): -
- Amanda (10/5): Superb stay. Good value for money with a superb restaurant and fab breakfast! 2 - The colonial style of the house is beautiful and the interiors felt very calming.

- David (9/5): Loved it. - Warm & peaceful Boiler room next to our bedroom meant our room was far too hot at night -also boiler noisy
- Christopher (9/5): Lovely hotel - Lovely hotel in historic village of Alfriston, overlooking village green and church. Attentive and helpful staff. Restaurant very good. Nice lounge with wood burner. Excellent breakfast. Parking. Central heating radiator not working in room but was upgraded to lovely suite.

- Helen (10/5): English country charm - We stayed here as a family 2-3 years ago and were so impressed we knew we would come back. All the meals here are outstanding; there's a good choice of options for breakfast and dinner and the staff were happy to change things up to suit preferences. The evening meals were of a very high standard. The service from the staff was excellent too. The whole place has such a lovely atmosphere and at Christmas time it looked quite magical. We had a wonderful two days with the family just chilling. We can't fault it! Nothing we didn't like!
- karen (10/5): -
- Joanne (10/5): Fantastic stay - Everything Nothing to dislike
- Alison (8/5): -
- Yvette (6/5): A nice stay - The bedroom was nice and the bed comfortable. Our evening meal in the restaurant was very good. The bathroom needed updating. The sink unit was tatty with the paint peeling off along the bottom of the unit’s doors. The floor tiles could have been a bit cleaner in the corners. Quite expensive room rate, so feel that the bathroom should reflect this.
- Michael (10/5): -
- Steve (9/5): Excellent - Breakfast was superb and also the service. Car parking. There was no room available in the car park and had to park off site.
- Angela (9/5): -
- Carl (8/5): -

- Mark (10/5): Loved the stay at this fabulously presented property in a beautiful village. Thank you to all the staff - The location, the hotel, the room, breakfast and all the staff were so lovely. Will be booking again really soon Fantastic, nothing to dislike with this hotel
- Jennifer (8/5): Absolutely right for our needs - Excellent breakfast except black pudding- strange taste Black pudding!
