Guest Reviews
- Anirvan (10/5): An experience worth experiencing - The hosts were absolutely marvellous and very polite and respectful. Had thought about evertyhing. If you are are sick and tired of the usual Premier Inn or Hilton etc types then this will be a brilliant change. Uneven surface - but it is not a negative - just gives an extra boost on the aura and experience of living with a Baron and Baroness
- Keith (10/5): - Breakfast was excellent there own bacon from Berkshire pigs with a traditional Suffolk cure. Really first class . Don't drown it in sauce enjoy the real flavour. In my opinion nothing!

- Glyn (10/5): Overall an excellent stay for four nights. - Jeffrey and Caroline were wonderful hosts and did everything to make me feel welcome.
Breakfast was excellent.
All in all a very good stay in a convenient location to visit local attractions. There was nothing I didn't like.
- Linda (9/5): Charming residence run by equally charming people - The breakfast were fresh and made to order, using mostly their own produce, The grounds were a little neglected mostly because of ill health of the owner. N/a
- Sarah (9/5): Haughley House lovely country house - Lovely old listed plus house conveniently placed. Parking. Delicious breakfast, cooked from local ingredients .
Country house style. Caroline and Geoffrey very welcoming. Tea and coffee facilities in room. Required Geoffrey being up when we got back to let us in. No keys provided.
In fact we got back at a reasonable time in the end from family wedding, but not expected back until midnight and felt rather awkward to have to ask the host to stay up. This could be awkward if your event is very late finishing.
- Leonie (9/5): - The hosts were lovely, was like staying with your grandparents. They would ask about your day and give you great food, before midnight curfew.
Absolutely loved their own bacon. If I didnt have such a long drive I would have asked for some to take back with me ha ha. I had no problems at all and enjoyed my stay here.
Beds were comfy and they opened the window for my room so I wouldn't get too hot.
Booked food on the first night and it was all lovely, I got to try pigeon for the first time. It was very tasty 😋
Small shop, pub and Indian restaurant nearby, loveky location. There was no lock on my room door as a young woman travelling alone it did make me feel a little worried someone would come in while getting changed or while I was sleeping. But I was the only guest there at the time so that made it a bit better for me.
- John (10/5): Caroline and Geoffrey (who is actually the current historical Lord of the Manor) were perfect hosts. - Breakfast was superb with homegrown bacon and eggs, homemade bread and preserves and everything else organic. Such an interesting and historic house. I would recommend to anyone. Everything was perfect for us.
- Anne (10/5): Exceptional - *The house is full of art and history and set in lovely grounds / countryside
*The owners were attentive, friendly and helpful
*They offered organic & homemade produce & a delicious fruit platter at breakfast (for us vegetarians)
*Very comfortable beds in a well equipped bedroom and bathroom
- Joanna (9/5): Superb - Hosts

- Andrew (10/5): Welcoming hosts and homely. - We could not have been happier staying here, an amazing house with very special and welcoming hosts Facilities were great with a quality not found in albeit most establishments, this family home is without doubt the best and what we like, we really appreciated it in every way.
Breakfast was absolutely amazing, with the comfort of nice conversations with Geoffrey and Caroline being so helpful and accommodating. The home made compote and bacon from their own pigs was a brilliant addition and so tasty too.
Thank you for such a wonderful stay. Nothing bad to report at all, very very nice.
- Christina (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic breakfast

- Peter (10/5): An excellent place to stay, terrific hosts and great breakfast - An excellent place to stay, terrific hosts, great breakfast and room. Location of s ideal for local travel. No issues at all. All good
- Sarah (7/5): Good -
- Martin (10/5): Going there is like being in a time capsule of a past country house life relax, take time. It’s old - Utterly brilliant , you are treated as the quest , in an elegant manner. It’s not a grab all freefor all, you receive personal service where youare treated as if you were the the nobility who would normally be living in the house Nothing
- Laura (8/5): It was lovely - It was very interesting, the house was hundreds of years old, and the hosts were full of interesting stories about its history. The breakfast was lovely.
- Melanie (10/5): We had a very enjoyable stay in the beautiful Haughley House and were well looked after. Thank you. - Breakfast was delicious and generous. The room was very comfortable and warm. Jeffrey and Caroline looked after us well. We liked the personal touch with breakfast - finding out exactly what we would like. The homemade bread, jam and Caroline's fruit compote were particularly tasty and of course their fresh eggs and meat. We needed to depend on the hosts being home or us checking timetables with them so that we could access the house and our room. This wasn't a problem over the few days we stayed and they were home during that time but perhaps with a longer stay it might occasionally be restricting.
- Joanne (10/5): Perfect stay, with warm welcome and very special breakfasts - A beautifully maintained, spotless B&B with every care taken to anticipate our needs. We’ve stayed before as we have family living in the village
- Sarah (10/5): Lovely - The melon boat, the great chats, the homely feel, the great breakfasts and lots of kind help Nothing to write about here

- Adele (10/5): Exceptional - We had a wonderful time at Haugley House. Food fantastic, all local produce, and if you get the opportunity, definitely dine in style at dinner there. Food was out of this world. Caroline's G&T are good! We didn't stay long enough
- Suzanne (10/5): Exceptional stay - The property and its history were fascinating. Caroline's home cooked breakfast was superb. Homemade fruit compote, homemade bread, bacon and sausages from theirown pigs. Will not hesitate to book again if visiting the area Nothing

- Diane (9/5): Full of historical charm and loveliest of hosts - Haughley House is set in a pretty, quiet Suffolk village. The house is full of historical traditionally British country character. Our hosts, Caroline and Jeffery are such friendly and accommodating hosts who made us feel welcome in their home. The room was comfortable and the breakfast beautifully presented and lots of choice. It set us up for the day. The house is close to many attractions. We visited Southwold and Orford Ness, but there is so much more in and around Suffolk. Would recommend. N/A
- Nicholas (10/5): Historic Manor House ideal for a short break in rural Suffolk. - Excellent breakfast and evening meal. It was good to have a separate sitting room. Quiet village location. Too hot in the en-suite as it was not possible to turn down the heated towel rail.
- Debbie (10/5): Exceptional -

- Graham (8/5): Historic family home, run by lovely hosts who treat you as family guests. - Hosts were excellent, nothing was too much trouble. Home made biscuits. Breakfast excellent. some good finishing touches. A pre advised menu would have been preferable
- Angela (9/5): excelllent place to stay made very welocme by our hosts and I would deffinately stay here again. - made very welcome by Jeffrey and Caroline breakfast was very nice especially the bacon from their own pig. We took up the option of an evening meal which was excellent and I would recommend
- Andrew (10/5): We enjoyed being guests at this comfortable historic house - This is not a hotel, but a historic family home. We were treated as guests, not customers. But all the facilities met our needs, so the best of both worlds. Excellent traditional English breakfast (other choices available). We had dinner one night and that was very enjoyable. Nothing of importance. We did get woken early by the late May sunlight.
- Gary (7/5): Friendly hosts offering good food and helpful information on local attractactions. - Very good breakfast with lots of choice. All produce was of a high quality. The bed was not particularly comfortable.
- Frank (9/5): Superb -
- Susan (10/5): Amazing the host's were friendly and extremely welcoming nothing was to much trouble . - Location perfect as we're visiting family in the area.Breakfast freshly cooked nothing to much trouble Nothing
- Integrale (8/5): Very good -

- Susan (4/5): Disappointing left a day early still charged us for Breakfast although we gave them 24 hrs notice - Breakfast fast excellent well presented . However I did email I was dairy intolerant . No arrangements were made no non dairy butter or Milk only oat drink. Hotel was cold room was cold open fires were not lighted electric substitute ☹️ No atmosphere white wine was warm no soda water or bottle water in room.
- Rosanna123 (10/5): Exceptional - A truly beautiful house, filled with beautiful furnishings and antiquities. Very friendly, helpful owners Caroline and Jeffrey are a pleasure. Their attention to detail makes your stay special.
Highly recommended I loved it all
- Jael (8/5): Very good -
- Peter (8/5): Very good -
- Nicole (10/5): An absolute delight. - The breakfast is superb, homemade bread, compote, the presentation of the food is beautiful. The house is stunning, I felt totally relaxed, the hosts could not do enough for you, the tea and homemade fruit loaf was very welcome on arrival. The house is very clean and very comfortable. Beautiful, just beautiful. I paid extra for dinner, the evening was lovely, the food delicious but I must admit I was a little confused, when reading previous reviews, I was very much looking forward to bit of haute cuisine, the main course choice was a little basic, but I have to reiterate, tasted delicious. I think you pay for the experience of eating in the lovely dining room and the very friendly hosts.
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Jacek (10/5): Highly recommended. - The breakfast choices and quality of foodstuffs was exceptionally good. In addition the evening meal we had pre-booked was worthy of the finest restaurant. Caroline is an exceptionally fine cook. There was nothing not to like.
- Susan (10/5): Comfortable, quality, friendly stay. First class! - Everything was excellent. Great house, spotlessly clean, facilities great. Food excellent. Hosts very welcoming and friendly. Will definitely go back
. Maybe a key to bedroom?
