Guest Reviews
- Robert (10/5): Hidden gem in the beautiful GA mountains. - What a unique experience, absolutely loved our stay here. Every corner of this property has a story and the owner and his staff are some of the nicest and friendliest people. Highly recommend! The owner wouldn't let us move in permanently 😊
- Kimberly (10/5): -
- Jack (7/5): place and people were great. - it was a castle shower fixtures was erratic.
toilets were sensitive
- Yancy (10/5): A real castle experience that far exceeded our expectations. - Our family stayed two nights (March 12–13) at Uhuberg Castle in Helen, Georgia, and the experience exceeded our expectations in every way.
We reserved three chambers — the Queen, the Princess, and the Duchess — for our family of six, and from the moment we walked through the massive red entrance doors, we knew this place was something truly special. None of us had ever stayed in a castle before, and we half expected it to feel like a themed attraction. Instead, this is a real castle. The construction, craftsmanship, and authenticity immediately stand out. It does not feel like a prop or tourist gimmick — it feels timeless.
We were welcomed by Cat, our host, who stayed in touch throughout our visit and was always available for questions or anything we needed. She personally showed us to our chambers and made us feel right at home from the start.
The castle itself is immaculately clean and beautifully maintained. Everything was polished, dust-free, and fresh. The entire place even smelled wonderful — something you don’t always find in historic or stone buildings. The chambers were inspiring and comfortable, blending Renaissance-style architecture with modern amenities perfectly. Hot water, strong water pressure, comfortable temperatures — everything worked exactly as it should. We were delighted to find there were no tv's - a subtle suggestion to open the windows for the fresh air of our new day, and accept the invitation to look around and enjoy the property.
One of the most pleasant surprises was the food and attention to quality ingredients. Our family follows a very strict organic, seed-oil-free, non-toxic diet, and we were delighted to learn that much of the food served is grown right on the property using organic gardening methods. Each morning we gathered around a round table with the other guests and enjoyed a wonderful continental breakfast that far exceeded expectations. You must try the organic muscadine preserves!!! No dissapointments. We enjoyed every aspect of the two nights stay at the castle,
- Yates (10/5): - Everything!!!!!

- Tammy (10/5): - An unbelievable experience! We highly recommend
- Anna (10/5): Amazing!! - This place is exceptional. The attention to detail and effort from staff and owner were beyond any place we have stayed. Bob is absolutely intriguing. The grounds are beautiful. Definately a have to place to visit!!!
- Alexey (9/5): Gorgeous scenery, close to the heart of Helen, GA - Very beautiful and unique The outlook tower 360 view
- Kelly (10/5): -
- Clayton (8/5): Unique experience. - Creativity and natural beauty. Thoughtful decorations and gardens.
- Diana (9/5): Enchanting stay where we felt like loyalty - Enjoyed exploring through the castle. I originally requested two beds but in the King room it was one full bed which is too small for my adult daughter and I.
- Robert (10/5): -
- Juan (10/5): - Amazing place
- C Michael (7/5): -
- Kimberly (10/5): - We loved the tranquility of the location. The gardens, the layout of the castle compound. The friendly tour when we arrived, the homemade cookies, the awesome breakfast and the sunset views. The furniture pieces there are beautiful. It was great that the owner joined us for breakfast. It isnt a huge thing but we have a king and I didnt realize we had a queen bed with this booking. In the future rooms being built possibly offer kings. It is hard for folks who are used to a king to switch to a queen.
- Alan (8/5): Precious Moments. - We liked the concept. The Dutchess suite was lovely. There was no TV. The owners and staff were very nice. Great place to take pictures. The breakfast was nicely prepared and yummy. Their muscadine jam is delicious. So were the handpicked figs.
I had to purchase one to bring home. We enjoyed our stay. The bed was uncomfortable. Would highly suggest that they may consider getting comfortable mattresses or quality mattress toppers. The lamp posts on the road to the castle were not lit. Highly advisable to get them on for the night. It's pitch black on the road without lights. Safety is important.
- cory (10/5): -
- Melissa (10/5): This was a trip we will remember for a long time. - The beautiful setting was only matched by the uniqueness of the accommodations. The room we had was lovely. It was comfortable and more modern than I expected it to be. I also enjoyed the staff who were always available if we needed anything, which we didn't because they thought of everything. We had breakfast with the man who built the castle each morning we were there and were entertained by his stories.
- Dwayne (10/5): Great experience and very close to downtown Helen, GA - The personal story and hospitality of the owner and his family! That it’s gated
- John (10/5): One of a kind place would highly recommend going. - It was a 5 star breakfast each day. Nothing it was the best holtel i ever stayed at looking forward to going back.

Tara and Ty, our hosts, were wonderful. Bob, the owner, joined us for breakfast and educated us about his dream of the castle and why he built it the way he did. The entire staff went above and beyond our expectations to ensure we had everything we needed. I HIGHLY recommend spending a weekend at Uhuburg!!
