- Valentin (10/5): - L’endroit est incroyable!
- Sabine (10/5): Extraordinary ♡ - We absolutely loved our stay at Nassibe. The beautifully restored house, with its authentic architecture and historical charm, offers a truly unique atmosphere. Every detail reflects care and respect for its rich past.
The location is peaceful and perfect for relaxing and exploring the surroundings. Overall, the area around Agios Ioannis is beautiful and authentic! The pool is fantastic with breathtaking views and breakfast leaves nothing to be desired.
A heartfelt thank you to George and his father for their warm welcome, kindness, and passion for preserving this remarkable place.
The pictures don't do it justice, you'll have to go and see it yourself 🤩 Sad that we only stayed two nights! ;)
- Wolfgang (10/5): Ein Idyll abseits vom Massentourismus!
Alles gut.
- Laurent (10/5): - Quel hôte !!!!! Juste incroyable accueil. Merci george pour votre temps et accueil. Tout.
- Iain (9/5): Excellent host and facilities but need a car to get around - Amazing breakfast and swimming in the infinity pool with the view of the mountains About 20 mins drive to the nearest restaurant
- Adriana (10/5): Fantastic hidden gem, great hospitality - Nassibe Estate is an extraordinary destination and a true hidden gem. Nestled in a picturesque tiny village up the mountain, this estate boasts stunning historical architecture that exudes charm and elegance. Every corner of the property tells a story, immersing guests in a sense of grandeur and nostalgia acrosss multiple cultures.
One of the highlights is the breathtaking infinity pool, which overlooks the majestic mountains, providing a perfect spot to relax and take in the stunning scenery. Additionally, the delicious breakfast pie from the village is a must-try, offering a delightful taste of local flavors that adds to the overall experience.
George and his family are exceptional hosts, ensuring every guest feels welcome and valued. Their warm hospitality and personalized recommendations for local attractions and dining options enhance the stay, making it unforgettable.
Overall, Nassibe Estate is a perfect blend of history and genuine hospitality, which makes it a must-visit for anyone seeking an extraordinary and authentic getaway. Nothing to mention
- Sean (10/5): - Absolutely amazing, a unique experience.
- Anna (10/5): A very special place - WOW this was the most amazing place. Beautiful peaceful location, magical accommodation with a fascinating history, delicious breakfast and the most lovely, helpful, welcoming people. We were made to feel at home and had a perfect relaxing time by the pool looking over the view of the mountains. Definitely stay here if you have the chance, we wish we had longer. We hope to come back one day. Nothing, everything was perfect.

- Clément (10/5): - George is such a wonderful host ! Very dedicated and we felt like we were at home
The place is highly original, the pool with the view is wonderful
We can’t wait of our next trip in Crete to visit George’s place !
- stella (10/5): - The two nights my husband and I spent at Nassibe were positively magical. George was a host par excellence - he not only gave us an amazing private tour of the estate, but he also arranged for a lovely birthday dinner at a local taverna and let us try delicious home made wine! As we were the only guests that weekend, he upgraded us to the master suite. The estate was restored with taste, care, and priceless antiques are everywhere. The pool area is to die for - completely private, perfect for lounging and enjoying the breathtaking views while watching the swallows kiss the water. The bed was supremely comfortable, with lovely linens. Plentiful breakfast served by the pool. We felt like we were visiting a wealthy friend who just handed us the keys to his incredible home and told us to enjoy ourselves for a while. This is an experience not to be missed - you are not far from important sights in this area and the village church has stunning 12-century frescoes (which you can see anytime), but this is a place to escape to from everyday life, to be enjoyed in and of itself for its incredible history and comfort.
- Lilya (10/5): An exceptional place with an exceptional host, and so many beautiful memories.
An absolutely incredible place! I have traveled a lot, but I think I have very rarely been welcomed with such kindness and sincerity. Here, you feel good from the very first minutes, just like at home… or rather in a little paradise on earth! No words can truly describe the atmosphere and magic of this place – you have to come and experience it yourself to understand. A huge thank you to everyone for the warm welcome. George is an exceptional host, and it’s a real privilege to be able to discover his story. Tout était parfait.
- Selin (10/5): Pictures don’t do this place justice! - Wauw! Pictures don’t do this place justice at all! We loved every minute of our stay and will be back again! The history of this place is one thing but the peace and quiet of it all is even better. We loved the owner aswell, he had an amazing vibe!
- Sandrine (10/5): Wonderful we definitely will spread the word - The location, breakfast, pool and host were exceptional.
You have to know it is in a tiny village you definitely need a car and it is so lovely and peaceful. Everything was perfect ! We loved everything
- Jessie (10/5): An absolute gem up in the mountains of Crete with amazing history and free wine! I couldn’t recommend this hotel more hi - Amazing location up in the hills, George the host was awesome, welcoming us with free Raki! We had a fantastic room and enjoyed spending time by the beautiful pool. The breakfast provided was also lovely. N/A
- Yassin (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful historic building and amazing pool with terrace and view
- Monika (10/5): Exceptional - Perfectly restored property, fantastic view from the pool to the mountains, birds singing, clean air... Such a wonderful stay!
- Anette (10/5): It felt like our own private little retreat - just perfect - We had a fantastic stay! The place is full of character and charm, with so many thoughtful details that made us feel truly at home. George was an exceptional host - warm, welcoming, and effortlessly friendly. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, and a leisurely day by the pool felt like a perfect escape, almost as if we were at our own private summer retreat. A truly memorable experience - highly recommended! Stayed for 3 nights, but honestly could have stayed a whole week!
- Annika (10/5): Exceptional - We felt very welcomed by our host, who was excited to tell us about the history of the place and determined to make our visit as pleasant as possible. He also gave us good restaurant recommendations. Rooms were very cozy. Pool area and views from there were amazing. 10/10 experience.
- Anna (10/5): A little piece of heaven on Crete - Nassibe is in a beautiful tranquil spot and has lots of unique historic features. The rooms were very clean and the pool area was lovely and quiet a perfect place to relax. Georgios made us feel extremely welcome and gave us endless recommendations and information about Crete.
You need a car if you stay here as there are no shops or restaurants in the village.
- Sergio (9/5): Perfect!! - Perfect accommodation. The house is one of a kind with lots of history, the room was comfortable and the pool area was exceptional with the views of the mountains. George was very friendly, he made us feel at home as soon as we arrived.
- Ayoub (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was perfect. The beautiful house, the hosts, the environment.... We will definitely come back!
- Avram (10/5): Wonderful and unique experience - This is not an accommodation, it’s a 5 stars experience, where the time stops after you went through years of history. It’s a place where you can enjoy the beautiful Crete in an amazing and non-turistic scenery. The host is very welcoming and his enthusiasm is contagious. It’s the first place (and I’ve seen so many) where I had the feeling that I paid much less than it worths. We stayed just 2 nights here, having the keys from the entire “palace”, but definitely we’ll return. Nothing to mention.
- Virginia (10/5): Exceptional - The house felt like a home with museum vibes. There were many details that made our stay comfortable. The owner was very friendly and helpful. The pool area was cozy and the view amazing.
- Peter (10/5): An absolute gem in the mountains of Crete - One of the absolute highlights of our time in Crete! The view from the pool was incredible, the accommodation itself is steeped in so much history, breakfast is provided with fresh produce from the garden! George was an amazing host who can tell you as much or little of the history as you want to know. We will definitely be back next time we stay in Crete.
- Omar (10/5): A place of such beauty, peacefulness, and magic that you forget the rest of the world exists. - We chose this place on a whim because it was close to a baptism we were attending, and it turned out to be one of our best stays anywhere. The property is unique and spectacular, an Ottoman-era mansion that has been lovingly restored with authenticity, charm and comfort in mind. Our room, whose enormous windows framed a magnificent view, was well-appointed, with high quality sheets and towels and all manner of amenities. Even more dazzling was the pool area, which offered a sweeping and totally unspoiled vantage on the surrounding mountains and valleys. We were served a lavish breakfast poolside and had a hard time tearing ourselves away from the place to attend the baptism! Indeed, I think my favorite memory of this summer will be watching swallows swoop down to refresh themselves in the pool as I dozed in the shade of an olive tree. The hospitality of our host George, and his helper Vaso, was epic. We won't soon forget the tour George gave us of the property, his family's ancestral home, regaling us with stories about the many artifacts they discovered as they were renovating it. Truly, Nassibe Estate is not to be missed. There was nothing about our experience that we didn't like. Our only regret was that we couldn't spend more time here.
- לפידות (10/5): We had an extraordinary experience The place is in the mountains in a small and charming village and has everything for -
- Ben (10/5): Hidden Gem; Superb hosts; Luxury comfort; History! - Heaven on earth! The accommodations are stunning and absolutely unique - if you like one-of-a-kind travel experiences look no farther - Nassibe is the place to escape the regular tourist experience and to step into living history. We stayed for two nights and easily could have stayed longer; we also met two guests who had returned after only a week away from Nassibe! The photos are accurate, and we also found so much more to enjoy and discover in and on the property. Breakfast by the pool was amazing - healthy, local, large, varied - so don’t skip that add on. The pool area itself is like walking into a dream- we felt very lucky to be there.
Plus, the hosting was world class. My partner and I stayed here for our 18th anniversary of first meeting, and our host, George went the distance to make it extra special, as well as introducing us to the history of the building and the village.
I would keep Nassibe a secret for myself, if I didn’t so want it to succeed - more people should experience it. Do yourself a favour and book it! No improvements needed!
- Dana (10/5): Quiet, marvelous, great hospitality - Evrything was perfect, the house is renovated and evrything is ckean and perfect but aroud there are remains of old
Stuff the place is like a museum!!!!
The sweeping pool is outstanding mountains all over. The host is amazing.we will come back!!!!! The best vication we had
- Reinis (10/5): Our stay at Nassibe Estate was nothing short of magical. - Our one-night stay at Nassibe Estate was an extraordinary experience that exceeded all expectations. From the warm welcome by Georgios to the impeccable design and decor of the villa, everything about this place exudes charm and elegance. Nestled in a picturesque village between the mountains, the location offered a serene and peaceful retreat.
The villa itself is a masterpiece, rich with history and beautifully adorned, making us feel like we were in a living museum. Our room was comfortable and luxurious, with a delightful terrace that provided stunning mountain views. The exclusivity of having the entire villa to ourselves for the night added a special touch to our stay.
The highlight was undoubtedly the pool house, which offered breathtaking views and was the perfect spot for stargazing, tanning, and swimming. Overall, Nassibe Estate provided an unparalleled experience that combined historical charm with modern comforts, making our stay truly memorable. We highly recommend this enchanting villa for anyone seeking a unique and luxurious getaway.
- Jonathan (10/5): What a gem! - Walking through the front door is like stepping back in time following a family through 400+ years of living, all set with the modern amenities and luxury of today. The spaces are as unique as the stories that occupy every corner of the residence and the village. This is a place to relax, read and reflect, breathe the mountain air, and sit by the pool overlooking a landscape of valleys, forest, grape vines, olive orchards and the chimes of goats and sheep in the valley below. The generosity and hospitality was second to none. One day is not enough here. Next time we are Crete, we plan to spend longer at Nassibe and get to the Zeus cave and beyond.
