Die Busse vom Bahnhof Morioka in den Ort wo das Ryokan liegt gehen nicht sehr oft. (Wenn man im Ort ankommt, gibt es wieder einen Hotel-Shuttlebus)

The staff was A++ and facilities were beautiful. The meals were delicious and decadent- dinner was 9 courses! Highly recommend for a high end Ryokan experience.
• Jennifer Rose (10/5): - Perfect for exploring Iwate - the mountain views are stunning! Walking around Lake Gosho was cold but refreshing. I really found the frost covered rice fields with the mountain range as backdrop and white geese flying overhead so charming. For the Ryokan, the food was so delicious and everyone so friendly. I never thought Uni うに could be so delicious. The apple juice and apples I bought were out of this world, we cant wait to tell grandad, who grows apple trees. Boyfriend now wishes he could have an Onsen at home :D Peanut senbei were also really delicious, as were the ochamochi. Next time I want to try some metalworking at the Handcrafting Village. 素敵なスタッフの皆様に感謝します。 That we only booked two nights. Also: お酒はとても美味しいですが、残念ながら私の友達ではありません。:D

• Andrea Grossi (10/5): Splendido soggiorno in un ryokan tradizionale - Lo Shikitei Morioka Tsunagi Onsen, Si trova a circa 45 minuti di autobus dalla stazione dei treni di Morioka. L'albergo rappresenta un tipologia estremamente tradizionale di ryokan. Domina il silenzio, l'educazione e soprattutto la grandissima qualità della cena kaiseki e l'ottima colazione. È raccomandato utilizzare un abito tradizionale, yukata, sia per la cena che per muoversi all'interno dell'hotel. All'interno degli armadi ci sono per tutte le taglie. Terme eccezionali per pulizia e per la cura dell'ambiente. Se potete regalarvi anche l'esperienza delle terme all'interno della stanza fatelo perché sarà ancora più immersiva. Si dorme sul futon adagiato sul tatami avvolti da un caldissimo piumino. Una vera immersione integrale nella cultura giapponese più tradizionale. Grazie e complimenti Nulla di rilevante

• Celestial (10/5): A place to spoil yourself - Bespoke feel, beautiful setting with outdoor onsen nestled against forest trees. The staff looked after us really well and made sure we could travel around the region with ease. Kaiseiki style meals are prepared with excellent produce. We were offered little food packets to feed the delightful little red carps that swam to us eagerly. All perfect.

Facilities were well-cared for and really clean. The breakfast and dinner kaiseki meals were fantastic! The indoor onsen was large and the outdoor onsen was classic with a great option to enjoy a cooler experience. Would definitely visit again if in the area! Nothing.

• Laing (9/5): Excellent stay and so happy we chose this Ryokan. Would stay again on our next trip to Japan - We loved our stay. I wanted a smaller, traditional Ryokan and this was exactly what I had in mind. Food was amazing, staff were so helpful and friendly and the onsen was beautiful. We went three times during our 24hour stay to the onsen and I was so sad to leave. I really wanted an outdoor onsen with a natural feel to it and this was perfect. Our room was spacious and lovely however it was just past the kitchen so we felt awkward walking past the kitchen area each time to get to our room. At times there were dirty dishes in the hallway. It was also very noisy in the morning with the breakfast prep. I would definitely stay here again but just request not staying past the kitchen area

It was such a special experience. The food was also excellent, beautifully presented and very tasty. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive. It truly felt like stepping back in time. You could really feel the old charm of Japan throughout the whole place. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience authentic Japanese culture.

Experiencing the traditional kaiseki breakfasts and dinner were extremely memorable for us. The private dining rooms were exceptionally special. The floor mats are not too comfortable to sleep on, but partly because we are used to sleeping on regular mattresses. Perhaps a bit more padding or volume on the mats would help.

• Van (8/5): Great Ryokan experience - Typical Japanese ryokan experience. Staff and employees were really nice and went out of their way to do as much as they could for any request we had. I did not realize it was so far from downtown Morioka (30 by local City bus; or 25 minutes by taxi) It was difficult (language barrier) to coordinate the taxi service to get around; since the rural areas do not have reliable Uber type services, other than a phone call. I had an outdoor ofuro in my room. Rain (some snow) was falling during my outdoor soak. Very calming in the rustic atmosphere.

• Aaron (10/5): A calm and relaxing stay near Morioka - The service offered by the staff at Shikitei was incredible - and simply has to be experienced. This hotel is a short drive out of Morioka, and we highly recommend an afternoon trip to Lake Tazawa. On your return, you can enjoy the wonderful indoor or outdoor onsen. Plenty of information is provided, so don't worry if you have not used an onsen before. While the hotel is not new, it is kept very clean and has a charming style. The breakfast is an experience worth traveling for in itself, with many different dishes served and a card explaining the local origin of many of the ingredients. The Japanese style room was very comfortable and a highlight of our trip.
