• Voyage en famille (8/5): Un hébergement de charme près du Cercle d'Or - Une très jolie maison en bois avec 3 chambres (2 chambres au rez-de-chaussée de chaussée avec chacune 1 lit double et 1 lit simple au dessus + une chambre en mezzanine avec 2 lits simples), un salon / salle à manger / cuisine avec grande table de cuisine, canapés et TV, une salle de douche avec WC, un jacuzzi sur la terrasse, et sûrement une belle vue mais comme nous sommes venus en décembre, il faisait nuit quand nous quittions la maison et quand nous rentrions donc nous n'avons pas vraiment profité de la vue. Par contre, nous avons eu droit aux aurores boréales le 1er soir ! Très bonne communication avec les propriétaires, check in facile avec boîte à clefs, lits confortables, ménage très bien. Vraiment pas grand chose. Pas évident de trouver la bonne maison du 1er coup malgré le plan quand il fait nuit noire, et il manque un peu d'ustensiles de cuisine (petites cuillères, égouttoir...) mais sinon nous avons beaucoup apprécié notre séjour.
• Janet (10/5): Highly Recommend! - This was our fourth time staying in these excellent log cabins, they are so authentic, incredibly warm, and well equipped for self catering. The hot tub is also amazing and very private. Good location for seeing the northern lights, if you enjoy doing Iceland independently then this is the place to stay, just hire a car, it's about an hours drive from the airport. We had a problem with the door lock being stiff, I messaged the owners and he actioned it straight away. Nothing!

La localizacion también es genial ya que tienes Selfoss a unos 10 minutos aproximadamente donde poder hacer la compra o comer en algún restaurante. Todos los elementos de la cocina estaban viejos y muy usados: microondas desgastado, sartenes antiguos y quemados, tostadora quemada y llena de restos de pan, etc. Tampoco funcionaba el ventilador/calentador portátil pequeño.

• Sofia (5/5): - The living space is spacious for a family. To be with nature was very good. The radio is a nice touch. I didn't like the uncleanliness of the house. The lamps above the beds have dust on them, the bathroom could be more clean and the barbecue needs to be clean. There wasn't enough space on the bedrooms.

Es hat einen schönen Blick in die Weite bis zum Meer. Der Hot Tub ist nicht ganz einfach zu bedienen man bekommt es aber hin. Der Grill funktionierte leider auch nicht gut.

• Gary (10/5): Beautiful property, private hot tub - The property is located well off a main road and seems isolated but really is convenient. Selfoss is about a 10 minute drive with supermarkets, bakery etc. You are near some very good hiking. The cabin is clean and well appointed. The private Hot Tub is aces. There are a lot of sleeping options. This is a no-fault thing that others may not mind, but the double bed is covered by a single bunk bed which makes it feel smaller than it is. The road is very drivable but has a few narrow spots.

Brilliant to look out for the Northern lights on a night and the beds were super comfy. We struggled with the front door and wasn’t able to open or close it a lot of times so had to use bathroom door. Also we would liked to be able to adjust the hot tub temperature because 49 degrees was too warm for us.

• Márton (10/5): Cozy homes with hottub - These holiday homes are at the perfect location, to explore the famous golden circle, and the south of Iceland. Lying in the hottub and stargazing (possibly even with northern lights) is an experience you won't get enough of. It was warm, and cosy, and had everything we needed to cook meals, and hot tea.

• Keaton (9/5): Awesome central cottage in a relaxed setting with a natural wellwater hot tub. - This was a laidback somewhat older vibe in the furnishings cottage among a series of similar cabins. The location was centralized and rather easy to get to the main highway from. It easily accommodated out group and the bunk beds are very comfortable even if they look a tad small. The natural hot tub is a crazy addition that once we got it to work we enjoyed some sulfury hottness. The instructions for the hot tub need to be made more clear, we spent probably two hours figuring out how to make the water not scaldingly hot. Keep in mind as well that all the water for the hot tub and shower are from local springs and they have a sulfur smell that needs to be ventilated from the house.
• Anthi (6/5): Pleasant and great location. - Fantastic location, easy to access sights and things to do in the Golden Circle. Great restaurants in the area. Our hosts were accommodating and very helpful when we needed to adjust our booking. The hot tub was fantastic and we really enjoyed using it. Spacious living area with a great deck. Cabins were well spaced apart for ultimate privacy. Even though the cabin had most of the things we needed, it is in need of some maintenance, an update on the utensils and a deep clean. We did find that the beds were not very comfortable, good enough for a short stay perhaps. We did stay for 5 nights. The shower needs some attention.

Location was great , easy to collect key from key safe . Owners were easily contactable if we needed anything. The hot tub water was nice and hot and it was clean. We did have a problem with the toilet flush on the first night but we contacted the owners the following to let them know and by the time we had got back that evening it had been fixed. There is a smell of sulphur in the hot water but not enough to bother us and it’s to be expected in that area No view from the hot tub

• Iolaa (8/5): Very good - Had such a great stay and saw the Northern Lights on our first night, just outside of our cabin! Beds were really comfy. I couldn’t imagine six people in there. It was just me and my mum. Hot tub takes a good two hours to heat up. We booked this for five nights and only used it twice and the second time it was pretty cold. Our front door wasn’t working and had to wait awhile for someone to come and help us nearly 4 hours. Luckily we managed to get through the back door which didn’t have a lock. Four out of five stars could do some more pots and pans to cook. Was quite pricey but very good location to drive to places. Definitely need a car!

• Helen (9/5): Superb - The dirrct hotsprings hot tub keeps us coming back for more! The lodge is cosy and so much privacy. Feels like we are in the outback but with the convenience of a supermarket 5 drive away. Althou the beds are super cosy, as it's a double bunk bed, it's not comfortable to use as a double bed for 2. Being up against the wall, it's difficult for the one (me) who always gets the short straw and has to sleep next to the wall.

• Gemma (9/5): Perfect cabin in a great location. - We loved our stay here, we would 100% come back, the beds were so comfy, cabin was warm, the outside space was excellent and the hot tub really easy to use. We were really comfortable here for the 5 nights we stayed. Wifi worked perfectly, sitting area and table were perfect. Beds were made on arrival 😊 The shower was quite tight but manageable. Given the length of our stay it would have been great if we had some cleaning products just to keep the bathroom nice. We struggled a bit with cooking as we were missing a few bits like baking trays and smaller saucepans. Some cereal bowls would be great. This wasn’t an issue for us but the stairs are quite steep and something to be considered when travelling with young children (2 of the 8 available beds were upstairs)

Very comfortable living space. Hot tub was great fun even though we had poor weather. We didn’t meet the hosts at all but the communication and keybox entry was perfect. The beds are small and built in as bunks so not great for couples. The cabins technically sleep 6 I think but I would find it very confined with more than 3-4. Bathroom needs refurbishing, cracked floor tiles and almost no water pressure in the sink (shower was fine)

For us, this was the start of a 3 wk road trip through Iceland, but the location is also perfect if you only have time to visit Iceland's golden circle. The (in this area unavoidable!) sulfurish smell of the water needs some time to get used to, but for us actually added to the charm of this accomodation.

• Florian (4/5): Wish I picked a different place for our last few days in Iceland after spending 2 weeks on the island - The location is great The chalet needs a bit of TLC and maybe a bit of a refresh is needed, the beds and pillows were really uncomfortable (you sleep with the curtain in your face and right below the window), some of the kitchen tools and cupboards were quite dirty, missing towels when we checked in. I was expected better but was left disappointed and was happy to only stay for 2 nights (not sure why so many great and positives review). On the plus side checkin and checkout was easy.

Option of early checkin( although we came at 9 pm). AGREE WITH MANY NEGATIVES POINTED OUT SINCE 2020/21. NOT WORTH THE PRICE PAID. 1. Very Dated property, needs complete refurbish. The owners / caretakers need to pay attention ASAP and inspect things thoroughly. 2. Dirty areas, cobwebs in lounge roof, loose door handles. This was the cottage called HORN. 3. No info that both rooms are bunk and small. no extra bed linen. Difficult to manage the small double bed with the person on wall side surrounded by all sides. 4. very dated and worn out shower equipment. Dirty. didn’t have a shower. The Mixer had a hole on one side of the control. no bathroom amenities. 5. The hot tub takes at least 2 hrs, not 50-60 min as in the booklet. you’ll waste time often waiting for it. The heavy cover difficult to manage. No step to get into the tub. Dangerous! 6. No proper photo of both bedrooms , one hides out the bunk bed and is deceptive. 7. No space to take out your stuff. Too small rooms, not informed in advance. 8. No blackout blinds. 9. no signage in the complex. It’s a must on dirt track gravel roads to find your property. 10. No non liner for the main kitchen bin on arrival, and expectations of complete waste disposal before departure. 11. No instructions about how to use doors. include in booklet. 13. No TV channels which you could watch. There are many minor aspects which the owners / caretakers should pay attention to, as it’s 2023 and make refurbishments and repairs.

• Paul (9/5): Superb - The vacation cabin was located just outside Hveragerði. It was well furnished and comfortable. There was a private hot pot on the deck and we were amazed by the wonderfully bright stars. Unfortunately the Northern Lights did not show themselves but we enjoyed our stay. Our son wanted to spend another night in his comfy loft. The hosts knit handmade hats and sweaters on the premises. We were only able to stay two nights.
• Kali (10/5): Perfect location and price - The location of these holiday homes is perfect, right outside of a town with plenty of food options but still outside town enough to easily see the northern lights. The cottages were very clean and Jon was very helpful with any questions we had. nothing.

The accommodation was lovely and warm, even for a winter break, and sitting in the hot tub in -12 degree temperatures, whilst gazing at the stars and the Aurora made our holiday. Any queries we had were responded to quickly and the facilities in the property were everything that we needed. There are 5 or 6 lodges here but all are so well spaced that you are not overlooked or disturbed by anyone else. It is only a 45 minute run into Reykjavik but is equally well placed for trips to Thingvelir, Geysir and many other gems in the Icelandic countryside. Best trip we have had in years. The only down side was that we didn't book for longer.

• Louise (10/5): Cozy Clean Cabin - Lovely cabin and facilities. Very clean and cozy, with comfortable beds, and the hot tub was a lovely bonus. The cabins are well spaced out. So you feel very secluded. Just off route 1 & not far from the golden circle and 2 towns close by. Owners were really helpful and responded quickly to our queries. I would definitely stay here again. 4x4 is a definite must in the winter.
