Fire Pit Broken and severely damaged venetian blinds in the 2nd bedroom.
Unable to use the induction stove; suggest instructions be provided for future guests.
- christophorou (8/5): - Great location. Quiet, clean place. Internet access very limited.
- Marissa (10/5): -
- M Risoli (10/5): - The property has everything you need for a comfortable stay. No internet access allowed us to have some family time with our teens.
- Penni (8/5): - The surrounds, the bathroom
- Kate (8/5): Tranquil escape to the wilderness - - it was secluded, quiet and lots of wildlife
- great location for accessing Gold Coast hinterland
- good location for a morning flight out of Brisbane
- enjoyed break not having phone reception / internet
- Hotel Panchos down the road was great Mexican
- wide range of group games provided e.g. Cluedo - no top sheet on the beds
- my Holden Cruze would have struggled in the driveway in the wet
- no fry pan
- could be inconvenient to have no internet and no reception if no one in your group had reception (e.g. for maps, checking into flights)
- Kari (9/5): - Qaint and comfortable The driveway was challenging even in a 4Wheel drive
- Hanna (10/5): - Style, amenities, privacy.
- bwinda_au (8/5): - The fire pit was great. 3 bedrooms are what we needed. Private location. Beds were comfortable. Nature around the property. Host communication was good. Car access was ok for us but could be challenging for smaller cars. No public transport. No views but great nature around the property. Loft room would be very hot in summer. No ceiling fans. Would benefit from a kitchen fly screen so kitchen window could be left open and reduce bugs at night.
- Wingnuts (9/5): - Chalet was well equipped with everything we needed, clean and comfortable. Peaceful and quiet, 5 mins from boomerang farm, ideal for wedding guests or mountain bikers. Only had one night, could easily have stayed more.
- Cloete (9/5): Weekend getaway - The chalet was well-stocked and located in a beautiful area, close to many walking trails. It was the perfect place to relax and enjoy nature with family. The hosts were very friendly and responded quickly to any queries we had.
- Sharon (10/5): -
- Agnès (9/5): - L'emplacement au cœur du parc.
Le confort du chalet
- Indigo (6/5): - Nice location, lovely surrounding bush. No exhaust fan in bathroom, musty smell in bathroom. Limited lighting, some PowerPoints didn't work. No curtains.
Note there is limited phone reception and no wifi.
- Ashleigh (7/5): Good location, meets basic needs. - Great location for us, attending a wedding at Cowbell creek, and very clean. Owners were also very friendly and accommodating. Felt it was overpriced for what you get - cheap towels that leave fluff on you, old linen, tired pillows, no PowerPoint in the bathroom, no exhaust fan in the bathroom, no blinds on living space windows for privacy / sleeping in etc - also would benefit from a full length mirror in one of the rooms given a lot of your guests would be attending weddings in the area etc
- Hayley (6/5): - Location was great enjoyed the fire pit The drive way to chalet when wet is quite dangerous for a small car, chalet had no curtains on any windows until requested. Wasn’t very clean and there was no hand soap, towels were worn and tatty
- Kourtni (9/5): Thoroughly enjoyed our time at this hidden little jem 🥰🫶🏽 - We loved that we felt disconnected but in reality, ‘civilisation’ is right there. We had the fire going every single night, and that small act alone kept us together outside AWAY FROM DEVICES for at least 2hrs. And that’s something money can’t buy these days. I loved that EVERYTHING was there in terms of plenty of blankets, cooking utensils, BBQ - even a slow cooker!
Even though I over packed… I COULD HAVE simply walked in with our packed bags. And that’s a kind of care I needed. The ladder up to the loft - the footings hurt when you’re climbing up/down.
- Jennifer (5/5): Passable -
- Peter (9/5): -
- Monique (9/5): Lovely base to explore Gold Coast hinterland - Lovely location, perfect as a base to explore the GC hinterland. The cabin was very lovely, neat and tidy. The kids absolutely loved the upstairs loft! Tait and Caroline were lovely in the communication and even kindly posted back our sunnies we left behind.
- Dianne (9/5): Superb - Loved the nature and wildlife and rooms were good Needs a bit more lighting at night
- Jo (9/5): Superb - Quiet Challenging driveway and no phone reception- Optus - I forgot to write the key code down ahead of time 😆😆
- Indiana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vivienne (9/5): This was a relaxing and comfortable get away and so close to the Gold Coast and Springbrook - Very comfortable and in a beautiful location. Hosts were very accommodating and helpful for all our needs. Thankyou Tait and Caroline
- Caitlin (9/5): Superb - great extra pantry supplies. beautiful and clean
- Simon (7/5): DIY built shed style house. Nice and clean, secluded and very quiet. Away from the City. - Great location. Nice and quite, Parrots would come and sit on the chairs beside me in the afternoon. Driveway was a bit rugged. No problem for me however my colleges struggled a bit in a small car. The rain did not help. Only 1 light in the living area. 1 lamp in each room. very small amount of lighting on the front porch. Again none of these things worried me in the least. However my City slicking workers could not handle it.
- Sarah (7/5): Good -
- Riaan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kaila (10/5): ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! - Personally my family and I enjoyed everything about the property- the neatness, how convenient it was to my destination, surrounded by nature and serenity.
- Andrew (9/5): Superb -
- Coralie (7/5): Very much enjoyed our stay, lovely spot - Lovely location
Everything we needed - kitchen Some kitchen items need replacing - frypan
Couches are very stained and not very comfortable
Strong musty smell inside
- Georgie (5/5): Passable -
- Daniel (8/5): The property was clean, quiet and comfortable. It would be great for a long weekend away. - The property is nice and secluded and well maintained. If you don't have a 4WD you will need to reverse into the driveway as there is not enough room to turn into the driveway from the road due to the angle of the driveway. It's not a big deal, but just a little tricky at first. We stayed overnight in August and it was quite cold. The property has a split system air conditioning unit, but it was a little noisy. The bedrooms could also do with some extra blankets.
- Tiffany (9/5): Comfy adventures - The main bed was sooooooo comfy! It was ashame bub didn't want to sleep, because I really would have enjoyed sleeping in it. Lol
And the little touches 😍 for example the random basket of bits, coffee sachets, girly products in the bathroom.
AND the airfryer! Yes, love it. Not that we needed to use it, but I believe all accommodation should have an airfryer. Well done Tait and Caroline. We really enjoyed our stay thankyou. The only thing i could say was, It needs actual lights. Lamps are great, but sometimes you need to find a dummy haha
- Barbara (6/5): Wouldn’t stay there if I knew the conditions of the place - Bathroom was great. The linen from the bed upstairs wasn’t changed as I’ve found a pair of used socks on underneath of the blanket and also had a dead cockroach right next to it.
I wouldn’t considered the room upstairs as a bedroom, as the mattress was thin like a paper and you have to crawl inside.
If you have a small car, forget about going there as the drive away was super steep and got me scared to fall down the hill.
Also very dark, only has bedside lights in the rooms and the main area is poorly illuminated.
- Taniya (10/5): Exceptional - The location is very peaceful. There is a lot of bird around the area, like the Kookaburra. The room is very neat and clean too.
- Candice (8/5): Very good - We stayed here before a wedding which is was nice and close to. Such a great setup. Only thing that was tricky was the driveway in a smaller car and at night but overall we had a great stay. Driveway.
- Stuart (9/5): Good value for a family to stay - Great place to stay if you're wanting a little bush retreat. It was all clean inside and beds, chairs and sofa were comfortable. Lots of kitchen utensils and equipment. Fire pit was fun and outdoor setting was nice. It was just the right size for our family of 5. No phone reception (Vodafone) in or nearby the chalet. I had to walk up the street about 300m to use the phone which was a bit inconvenient.
- Samara (10/5): We booked this place because it was close to the wedding venue that our best friend was getting married at this property - Beautiful remote cosy location small but quaint with great facilities cosy beds great outdoor area to sit by the fire and enjoy a glass of wine or in the morning a cuppa coffee while listening to the birds I feel that they need to add some extra lighting within the property, just a little bit dark in some areas
- Jodie (10/5): Exceptional - The property is beautiful and surrounded by wildlife. It was a nice way to just relax and listen to the birds chirping. The kids loved it as well. The chalet was clean and had what we needed to make our stay comfortable. Definitely be going back.
- Robert (7/5): Great - The location, quirky loft bedroom
- Samuel (9/5): Quiet and quaint stay close to everything! - Quiet and well appointed chalet! Property was clean and amenities available
- Talia (8/5): Beautiful private scenery - Beautiful spot and very private. Very tidy place and very accessible to the wedding venue we had to go to. The drive way is very steep and definitely more 4wd suited. Very small price to pay for a perfect weekend getaway spot.
- Natalie (10/5): My family could not have asked for a better stop over stay! - Loved the warm atmosphere, beautiful decor and convenience of this gem of a stay!
- Sarah (8/5): Very good -
- Jenny (9/5): Superb - Beds were comfortable, plenty of space, nice array of coffees and tea. The early morning roo visitors were very cute. Secluded and pretty bushland. A few towel rails or hooks in the bathroom would have been good. The driveways are rocky and steep and in the rain a little scary.
- Tara (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marianne (7/5): Basic cabin - Handy to Austinville Estate for family wedding, price was right for 3br. Not enough lighting
Almost need a 4WD for driveway
No internet
- James (10/5): We were after a quiet place to stay to unwind and reconnect and this was the perfect place to do that! - You feel alone and secluded even though it’s on a property. Well furnished and the varieties of tea and coffee and the jar of marshmallows were appreciated. Only suggestion would be to reinstall a blind on the westernish facing living room window to cut out the arvo sun. Could save on the power bill too as first thing I did was turn on AC.
- Rana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vinuthan (9/5): Absolutely fantastic and we had a great time. Amazing hosts. - Just the right place for you to be on a holiday. Like my boy calls it holiday home Was too hot the days we holidayed there. So would be nice to have a pedestal fan in the rooms.
- Sarah (8/5): Lovely little cabin in the bush - handy for the Gold Coast - Lovely little unit set in gorgeous bush land
Everything was nice and clean, beds comfy, facilities great The access road was a little tricky
- Kym (8/5): Very good -
- Stankovic (10/5): Exceptional - Loved how much unexpected equipment was provided. The aircon was an awesome bonus Aswell. Beds were comfier than my own at home. Awesome spot if you want to relax or just as good to explore and have fun outdoors with the family.
- Nicole (10/5): Beautiful surroundings. Kids loved collecting stick for fireplace and toasting marshmallows. - Secluded and peaceful. Great location to all local attractions Driveways were a little tricky but that was due to us having a low car. And once we turned around at top of driveway we were able to come back down and park at back of chalet.
- Hester (9/5): Superb -
- Guest (6/5): Pleasant - Well resourced kitchen, large bathroom, Foxtel. Good communication from owners. Nice, quiet bush location. Early check in accommodated. The driveway was very difficult to drive up or get out of, particularly when it had rained.
Only lights in the bedrooms were lamps.
Only bottom sheet and quilt on bed.
Rungs on ladders were very hard on feet and slippery.
- Jarred (8/5): Very good - A good size accommodation with a bit of a quirky design. Good value for money. It was nice to see all the wildlife pictured in the photos which was a good bonus. Unfortunately the BBQ was not cleaned by the previous guests and there was nothing to clean it with. It would be nice to have a metal spatula for the BBQ also.
- Murray (8/5): Overall the accommodation was great …comfortable and clean with everything we needed. Eg kitchen - Not applicable The driveway to the property was steep and on a sharp corner. We needed to back in carefully as there was a drop on one side.
- Corey-leigh (9/5): Footy Weekend Away - The location was peaceful yet only a short drive into town. The keybox for self entry is convenient. We enjoyed having our own rooms to relax and unwind. The shower was one of our highlights, very very spacious.
The small hair straightener and extra female bathroom essentials came in handy.
The kids (15&17)were stoked to see the air fryer and complimented the beautiful kitchen benchtops. They also loved the attic room and started to envision what life could be like living in a chalet like this 😂
The downstairs bedrooms have fly screens which allow for natural air flow.
The TV was perfect to watch the Broncos beat the warriors. 😎 When entering the chalet, it was hot. There were no blinds on the kitchen window.
Turned on the air con, which took a little while to cool the place down. There are no fans in the downstairs bedrooms, so the air con came in handy.
The boys mentioned, whilst they were using the toilet to urinate, they had to hold the seat up.
The first room on the left had quite alot of dust under the bed.
When walking up the ladder to the attic, the cross bar you walk on, is quite sore on the bare feet. I would recommend inside slippers. Alternatively, covering the bars using a pool noodle for extra cushioning.
There is a fan in the attic room, which when turned on can be heard in the room directly under.
The walls are thin and you can hear eachothers conversations.
- Doyley73 (8/5): Very good -
- Sarah (10/5): The place was peaceful and relaxing - Property was really lovely and peaceful. The pool was a great bonus too. The place was nice and close to the small town and general store.
Ice available in the freezer was also a pleasant surprise!
- Susanna (10/5): Very pleasantly surprised by the whole cabin. Spacious living area and 3 separate bedrooms. - The privacy and quietness. The loft bedroom was a little dusty and airless.
- Steven (8/5): A quirky , well thought out space to enjoy some serenity. - Compact but practical accommodation. Very clean. Plenty of beautiful birds and very quiet and peaceful.
Essentially a very well thought out, comfortable and well-appointed shed. "Chalet" is a little comical but great vibe. We didn't use the fire pit but I can see it would be great if you were organised enough to get firewood, which isn't supplied. The only slightly negative thing, but absolutely understandable, is the waft from the septic system when you're enjoying the serenity outside with a glass of wine. It was intermittent and variable in intensity .... but it was there. No way around that though so not a criticism.
- Rhiannon (10/5): Exceptional - The owners were lovely and accommodating.
Lovely location.
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Passout (8/5): Comfortable, secluded and well priced would recommend - Location was nice and private
Easy to find and was very well priced Code for getting the key was different to what we were provided but we figured it out in the end
