Guest Reviews
- Darwin (10/5): - actually a really nice location and it works for 1 person and the train station was right next to it
- HIROSHI (10/5): -

- Travon (10/5): Great hotel for the price - Very convenient location! Also in a very quiet neighborhood which is so relaxing at night.
- Karimata (9/5): -
Łatwe zameldowanie i wymeldowanie.
- Tea (9/5): Perfect Base for Exploring Tokyo! - I had a wonderful stay at this apartment! A huge thank you to the host for their exceptional hospitality. Everything was exactly as described and very well organized.
Highlights of my stay:
· Excellent Location: The location is very convenient. It's about an 8-10 minute walk to the metro station, and I even enjoyed a beautiful 30-minute walk to Asakusa. The neighborhood has everything you need: supermarkets, cozy restaurants, and cafes. The stunning Sumida Park is right nearby, and I loved the fantastic views of the Tokyo Skytree from the area!
· Comfortable & Well-Equipped Apartment: The apartment is compact but very cozy and smartly designed. It had absolutely everything I needed for a comfortable stay:
· Private bathroom (toilet + bathtub/shower)
· Kitchenette with a stove, microwave, refrigerator, and all necessary cookware and utensils
· Washing machine, air conditioner, and hairdryer
· Ample clothes hangers
· A full set of toiletries and fresh towels were provided.
· Smooth Check-in/Check-out: The check-in and check-out process was incredibly smooth and convenient. The host provides very clear and detailed instructions, allowing me to do everything remotely without any hassle.
(Arigatou gozaimashita) for a fantastic stay! I highly recommend this apartment and would definitely stay here again on our next trip to Tokyo. Everything was perfect
- Veronika (5/5): Needs attention - It's a good location, somewhat central yet quiet, and easy self check in, never met the host but they were very kind over email The place smelled of strong chemicals when I entered and persisted for the duration of stay even with open windows, the walls clearly have a mold problem and it needs proper treatment, not just bleach. In dire need of deep cleaning. It'd improve the comfort greatly.

- David (7/5): Great place to leave your things when exploring the city, might not be the most comfortable place to sleep. If you have - Location, ease of access, price Loft bed was hard to use, no chair, no dryer and the washing machine was very loud.

- Robert (6/5): -
- Timofei (8/5): - Great value for money. Nice quiet neighborhood, multiple railway/subway stations around. The second floor is a convenient choice for a small apartment like this. The room was clean. Quite claustrophobic.
- Aidan (7/5): Good place, preparation could have been better. - Cozy room, easy to check in and out since you only need to take out a key, which may or may not be a security issue. My room wasn't air conditioned when I arrived, meaning I got in the room when it was around 90°F or 32°C, which was slightly annoying. The fridge was also off which I didn't anticipate.
The room was nice though, and the least appealing part was that the bed is in the loft which gets really hot in the warm weather.
- Kimly (3/5): Poor -
- Nik (6/5): Could have been better - The area itself is lovely and with plenty of character. The property is near eateries and a super market and the train station is only a ten minute walk away. The owner is very quick to reply to messages. Unfortunately this was not a great stay for me. The cleanliness standards are quite low and the place feels a bit neglected. The photos in the listing were probably taken when the property was new because it now looks worn out. The futon near the entrance had stains on its cover, the wallpaper is peeling in spots and looks like it's in need of being replaced.
It's definitely a budget stay and I wouldn't recommend it for anything more than a couple of nights' stay.
- Peash (10/5): Shitamachi base serves its purpose very well! - This space is minimal yet curated with lots of intention. The facilities were neat and clean enough for the purpose they served. There was a little bit of noise and a little dust here and there. Still, I would not hesitate to stay here again.
- Kent (5/5): Japan style small and narrow - Price No chair and table, no good for Americans
- Mary (7/5): Overall, I had a pleasant stay. - Affordable rate for an entire apartment with fully functional household appliances.
There's a nearby bus stop. You can easily go to asakusa and ueno with 1 bus ride.
Located in a very quiet neighborhood. Only a small and low table is in included where you need to always sit on the floor. But it it is just a matter of preference.
I had to sleep on the foldable sofa bed because the stairs to the attic is steep where the more comfy bed is placed. It is manageable to climb up to it but I find it challenging to go down especially when you just woke up. Additional handrail will make it better.
Enough for 1 person with large luggage. 2 people is okay but with small luggages only.
- Helen (7/5): Good -
- Kahuihina (10/5): Practical, cosy and excellent value! - I liked that everything was practical and the location was nice and quiet. I would’ve liked a chair and small table to eat at. Also, some instructions on how to turn the heating on because it was quite cold sitting on the floor with no chairs.
But please know that these weren’t big problems - the accomodation was wonderful.
- David (10/5): Excellent stay for solo travellers. - Excellent self contained apartment with everything you need. Kitchen, laundry, bathroom. Host allowed early luggage storage from 10am. About 10min walk from Hikifune Station.
- Charlotte (8/5): Great for 1 person in Tokyo - To have a place to myself in Tokyo for the price was great! As I was there 8 nights it was good to have my own space. The closest train/tram/subway line is at least 12 minute walk away (fine for daily life but with big bags wasn’t the best).
There is only 1 sink in the kitchenette so had to clean teeth here as well as do any dishes.
It probably could do with a bit of a touch up (futon especially), this was what I was using for downtime and the futon is quite old.
The main bed is up quite a steep ladder but this is in the pics.
The internet completely cut out my first day there but came back on a few hours later, I had contacted the owner and he was going to come check but it did come back on before this was needed.
- Joanna (6/5): Pleasant - Nice to have an apartment for yourself in Tokyo, the owner provided an adapter for my charger after I asked pre-arrival, the mattress was very comfortable (yes the bed is pretty high and there’s just a ladder to get to it, but the set up is clear from the pictures when you’re booking) Could be way cleaner, the most important sports (toilet, linen, bath) are clean enough but otherwise the place could use a deep clean.
- Jonathan (6/5): Pleasant - Cheap Noise like heavy footsteps and hitting sound from the room nearby can be heard even past midnight, also even after the landlord warned them
- Eugene (9/5): Superb -
- Andrea (7/5): Good - Having a place on your own at the price of an hostel is a plus. Although very small, the place is cozy and nice.
The surrounding area is a very quite neighborhood, there's a 7eleven very close, coin washing machines and a nice non-touristic bar nearby. The overall cleanliness of the place could be better, especially the kitchen area (which I didn't use anyway). I've found hairs and dust here and there.
- Nicolas (9/5): Superb -
- Joshua (9/5): Superb -
- Pam (5/5): I booked 3 nights but ended up I stay only a night there. - The owner is friendly, and facilities are well provided Even the location is near to station but far to the city. Will be difficult for me to rush to some places in the early morning. I feel slightly uncomfortable staying there.
- Michael (8/5): Very good - Good location, train station only a short walk away.
The room was small but that wasn't an issue since I was traveling solo.
Good value for the price. Internet connection could be better. It was fine most of the time but sometimes the speed would drop for a bit.
- Alistair (7/5): Good bang for your buck with full facilities. - It’s in a good location and only 10min walk from Hikifune train station. It is fully equipped and bed is comfortable. The room is small with no room to entertain guests but hey it’s Tokyo and the price is right.
- Rafael (4/5): Not very clean and so uncomfortable! - I didn’t like anything! The place was not very clean! Dust everywhere. The fridge, the microwave, around the toilet were not clean! I got so disgusted that I bought products and I cleaned myself. I sent a message to them complaining about that and they did not even answer it. Also the check out is so early (at 10!). It’s hard to climb the stairs to reach the bed and the sofa is ridiculous! This flat is so uncomfortable. One of the worst places I have ever stayed!
- Xia (9/5): Superb - The door doesnt fully open so it was challanging with a bigger luggage
- Cheang (7/5): Good - The location was convenient, as the train station was about 10 minutes walk away.
There were many eateries nearby and a 7E about 2 minutes away. Besides that there was also a supermarket near the train station.
The place is suitable for a solo traveller.
The response from the owner is quite fast. The aircon
took a while to adjust but the owner was helpful to help fix the issue.
- Idel (7/5): Explore Shitamachi - Very quiet location and have the basic amenities.
Location is also good if you want to explore the Sumida River and Asakusa area, it is about a 30 minute walk to that area. The kitchen sink could use a bit of scrubbing.
The floor felt a bit sticky not sure if it's the floor material.
The sofa bed cover could use a good wash.
Wifi barely connects
But will still stay here if I'm in this area.
The loft part is a bit high so I ended up using the sofa bed and comforter as my sleeping area.
- Vinushan (9/5): Superb - Close to the metro station
- Takashi (5/5): I don’t always recommend this apartment to tourists. - A good location to enjoy Tokyo downtown. The bed mattress smell badly due to the humidity here in Japan probably.
- Darko (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (7/5): Great Micro efficiency apartment, Good Value for a solo traveler - Complete apartment with laundry, kitchenette, shower, iron, soap, and futon. This is a kind of micro apartment with a loft bed over the bathroom and toilet. It's a quick walk to a 7 Eleven or family mart. Great loft Location is a little out of the way from the major attractions of the city. The space is a little tight, for a solo traveler ok, but as times there I felt a bit cramped, I didn't see really a good place to unpack clothing into. No curtains on the upper window to block early morning light
- Mark (10/5): Amazing value for money. -
- Marco (10/5): Cannot have something better! - Everything was amazing. I enjoyed so much my time here I’ll return for sure next time ❤️❤️❤️ Nothing it’s just perfect
- Zhanxiang (10/5): Exceptional - The place is really a good value for money. And place is nice and clean.
- Jinye (10/5): very well - comprehensive facilities and big space nothing
- Barbutol (9/5): Micro-apartment for single travelers. - Tiny apartment, fully equipped, in a lovely and very quite neighborhood, at less than 10 minutes walk to Hikifune station. Comfortable futon upstairs (quite steep) under a low ceiling. There's only one sink in the kitchen and no sink in the bathroom.
- Sani (8/5): Very good - great location. only 2 min walking to 7-11, 10 min walk to Hikifune station. The room is compact, small but has all you need and very clean. It also very secure, 1 locked door in the front and there is locked door for you room. The neighborhood is quiet. The host is very informative and ready to help.
- Esther (8/5): Very good - The apartment was very small, but it was enough for 2 people. We had everything we needed for a week in Tokyo, and getting around was easy with convenience stores and the train station not too far away. Even though the apartment has a washing machine, I had trouble finding places to hang my laundry to dry, and even then it took days because the humidity of the rain outside also made the room quite moist.
- Devon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lesley (9/5): Superb - - affordable
- nearby combini
- was able to arrive before check-in time when I asked to, and was able to leave my luggage at the apartment while the room was still being cleaned
- there was a folder with English instructions/information
- short walk to the station
- tokyo skytree, Asakusa and other attractions nearby
- Fahsai (10/5): Exceptional - The room is nice and comfortable. It is located in a quiet neighborhood, with many local restaurants in walking distance.
- Idrinksoda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carl (9/5): Superb - It was in a nice and quiet location, very close to convenient stores and vending machines. Short walk to Sumida river where you can see Tokyo Skytree or go for a run/jog. Came with a microwave, small fridge, and washer to wash your clothes. Few restaurants close by, especially one that was very kind and welcoming even though my Japanese wasn't that good, on google maps its called Wish it had a tv, even a small one for a little entertainment after a long/ short day out. Instructions on how to use the washer, the keypad by the bathroom and the keypad by the mirror 😅
- Puiren (10/5): perfect for solo travelers but a little far from the station - 100% would stay again! it’s perfect for a solo traveler and no one more as there isn’t much space but for the price it was perfect for me! there was a bathtub and everything! no curtains on the top window so it was really bright from the morning time
- Kirill (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, good price for a room with private bathroom.
- Shiawase (9/5): Very nice and comfortable apartments - The apartments are small but very nice with everything you need inside. The area is very quiet and there is a convenience store open all night long at one minute walking. It's at a walking distance from the Sky Tree (15 minutes) and the Sensōji (about 30 minutes walking). The only "bad" point is that these apartments are a little far from the station, like 15 minutes walking. So I wouldn't recommend it to people that have difficulty walking long distances. But besides that, they are very nice .
- Tobias (7/5): Good -
- Dermot (8/5): Very good - Everything one needs in a tiny apartment. Great location, and rail links. 10 minutes walk to Hikifune, 20 minutes walk to Asakusa. 3 mins to 7/11. It rained on the days I wanted to play golf. As for the apartment there is nothing not to like.
- Eri (7/5): Compact apartment in decent location - good value for money - Good location within 15 minute walk from Tokyo Skytree. may not be that convenient if you have a lot of luggages but acceptable for the price.
some shops and restaurants nearby. The property had necessities. small kitchen with only one hob. not suitable for proper cooking.
- Kenneth (9/5): Superb -
- Hikari (9/5): Superb -
- Marte (8/5): Very good -
