- Cezara (8/5): Comfortable stay with authentic Cycladic charm - The location is nice and close to town and the beaches in the south, though because of the roads it takes a bit longer to get anywhere than you’d expect (meaning its not super well connected to everywhere we wanted to go). The house itself is charming, renovated in a very Cycladic style, and the beds were comfortable. The kitchen had quite a few things available for cooking, which was helpful, and we enjoyed a lovely breakfast once on the terrace (even though it turned out to be surprisingly cold and windy for August). The host was fairly neutral in person, barely speaking when handing over the keys, but she did send me a guide to the island by message — some of her recommendations were excellent, though others were more of a miss. The toiletries provided were lovely. While the kitchen was stocked, some essentials were missing — there was no tea, no olive oil, the salt container was empty, and strangely only two cups were provided even though the house is meant for four people. The toiletries were nice but could have been more complete with small things like cotton buds or cotton pads or some body moisturiser . Another drawback was that the property is divided into two houses. During our stay, the guests in the other house always parked in front, which meant we couldn’t, and we often had to leave our car further down the road and walk uphill — not very convenient after a day of walking around - it was so windy during our stay that we couldn’t go to the beach at all, which was disappointing, so we were walking around villages all day.
