- Juliette (5/5): bof - l’emplacement la propreté laisse à désirer
- Emma (8/5): -
- Cassandra Jo (10/5): Excelent - Excelent location in front of the beach. It’s clean, tidy, comfortable, beautiful, and the staff friendly and nice.
Totally recommended. -
- Riccardo (6/5): - Great location and very cheap The cleaning needs to improve. No recycling bins. Unfortunately our room was adjacent to the kitchen and the other guests (seems like long term guests) were really loud early in the morning (6.30am)
- Lea (7/5): -
- Todd Mahupuku (7/5): -
- Sandra Patricia (5/5): - Slip Beds back instead of those beds. More knifes and florks and spoons. The beds i didn't like.
- Annette (7/5): A great no frills place when all you need is a bed and a bathroom. If you remember the old youth hostel years of London, - You get what you pay for and nothing more. I liked the simple no frills approach like the old youth hostels.
Liked the curtained bunks for a measure of privacy in this shared space plus a good wall light and power socket available from the bed. The bunk rooms were on a fairly busy road so were noisy in the evening and in the morning. Also the smoking area is adjacent the sleeping rooms and smoke just wafts in.

- Judith (9/5): - The location was great and the staff were really sweet. Convenient location with spacious rooms, fabulous view of the water from the balcony, and very sweet long term residents willing to give tips about cool things around town.
- Gary (10/5): Great value for money, warm and comfortable bed. Bit of a walk to town but exercise is good for you. -
- Erin (3/5): whole place needs an upgrade and very deep clean. - location right on the beach, bed was fairly comfortable, able to check me in early the whole place was carpeted which seemed stained and gross. the bathrooms were in need of a deep clean. the heater didn’t work very well. loud on the street. just felt dirty and very weird vibes.

- Grace (9/5): Amazing stay! - This was such an amazing property. Great location right on the beachfront across from the Aquarium, and lovely views out to sea. There is a balcony at the front where you can watch the sun rise over the water.
The bedrooms are a good size, with comfortable beds.
The kitchen is well equipped and clean.
Hosts incredibly friendly. Would definitely stay again! The bathroom hand towels could have been changed more often.

- Chen (4/5): It was Ok for the amount of money I paid, but wouldn't choose to stay there again, would happily pay 20 dollars more - 性价比较高,位置良好附近停车方便,员工友好
Good value for money, well located, with free parking nearby. The staff was friendly. 隔音很差,有些长租的客人素质很差在楼下公共区间大声聊天喝酒到凌晨一两点,房间老化比较严重。
However, the soundproofing was very poor. Some long-term guests would loudly chat and drink in the shared areas downstairs until 1–2 a.m. The room was quite run-down as well.
- Jessica (5/5): - The host was great and the instructions for access were clear. Our room was right next to the front door, which was quite noisy. Rooms got very hot at night, and the toilet seat had a rubber cover on it which wasn’t very appealing and hygienic.

- Lenka (4/5): Nice on the outside with problems inside. - Lovely location right on Marine Parade opposite to National Aquarium, 1 km away from the city centre with free off street parking. I had a nice welcome by the manager. Also the bed was clean with good curtains and a lamp and electrical socket. The main thing for me was the lack of cleanliness in shared areas. Bathrooms and toilets were dirty, it was really uncomfortable to used them. There was also this 50 years old dirty dusty carpet in all areas and strange smell around. The room was occupied mainly by permanent guests - their belongings were crammed everywhere, it was difficult to walk around and use the space. Also, they all wake up at 4am! (perhaps go to work at orchards?), rummaging around for at least 30min, keeping others awake. Mattress was old, well used and not comfortable. I didn’t have a good sleep and would not stay again.

- Jack (10/5): Thoroughly Enjoyable - Great location comfy beds and nice showers. Was welcomed by a thoroughly nice older gentleman. Nothing
- Richard (7/5): -
- Kana (8/5): Kindness - 遅い時間のチェックインだったけどスタッフがとても親切に対応してくれた。 キッチン、シャワーはもう少し綺麗だと良かった。
扇風機か何かがあれば快適に過ごせると思う。
- David (8/5): A nice hostel by the shore. - The hostel provides a very basic requirement for those wishing to find a place to stay, it has a good sized kitchen for which to cook & a seating area designed for 8 people to sit & eat their meals, there is outside availability but requires a declutter.
The communal t.v area is suitable for up to 8 people but as it often creates to much noise due to no door separating it from the acoustics from the halls.
There are permanent residents living & are often a little less considerate.

- Chethiya (10/5): - This property was absolutely outstanding. From the moment I arrived, everything felt warm, clean, and welcoming. The space was beautifully maintained, thoughtfully designed, and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay.
The location was perfect — quiet, safe, and close to all the main attractions. The bed was extremely comfortable, the amenities were high-quality, and every little detail showed how much care the host puts into this place.
Communication was smooth and friendly, and check-in was effortless. I genuinely loved staying here and would happily return. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a relaxing, hassle-free stay.

- Carine (10/5): -
- Malou (7/5): - Strandblick:) Zu weit von der Innenstadt & vom Supermarkt entfernt
Kochutensilien dreckig
- Dhruv (7/5): -
- Misaki (10/5): Good - All the necessary facilities were provided, including a shower and toilet.
- Wharehinga (10/5): Loved it so much. - Perfect for back packers and also extroverted people ! I loved the deluxe room they had to offer because I loved that little bit of extra privacy (own bathroom and own TV), the piano in the living room was so fun to play, and the shared kitchen was very cute. Everyone was so kind ! Lovely manager as well:) gave me and my partner a tour of the whole facility which was so helpful, he made it very easy for us to remember how to get in and out. I love how close by every main attraction was to the Lodge. Definitely the perfect location to stay in if you don’t mind shared spaces. Literally booked it last minute as I wasn’t planning on staying in Napier for too long and it was perfect I legit only got scared once because it sounded like someone was in our bathroom but there wasn’t ! Hahahaha. The shared bathroom and our room bathroom are just close by each other. Literally the only thing I can think of and it isn’t even that big of a deal tbh. Just awareness for those who love singing in the shower, you may be heard lol
- Kumar (7/5): -
- Tonihi (9/5): I miss the beds😍 - Loved it Such a wonderful view
- Roberta (9/5): Great stay great location comfy bed great staff - Easy access & codes
Tidy clean
Nice staff gentleman
Great location The steep staircase lol
And the creaky floor board in my family room
- Amrita (6/5): -
- Melanie (9/5): - Well equipped kitchen. Place was very clean and in a good location.
- Moetahi (4/5): - Right by beach The camera and the dirty ness under the bed
- Elena (7/5): -
- Shanandore (6/5): -
- Lorry (7/5): -
- Lottie (7/5): Great, central located Hostel with friendly staff, unfortunately pretty dirty - The Hostel was central and really close to the beach (stone beach) and museum. The facilities/ hostel were good and it looked modern and pretty new. The staff was helpful and super friendly. I felt safe! It was such a shame that it was so dirty and looked like nobody had cleaned in ages..
- Phakphun (8/5): Ok - I like the cleanliness here and the location. I actaully book the room and hope to get the room with balcony exactly like the photo it shows, but when I arrive, the owner said the room that I get will not have balcony because that room is expensive. Why did he show the different photo than the actual room?
- Sandra Patricia (5/5): - The quite of it.i can have the TV all too myself this time had curtains all around the bed. Made it private. I didn't like the way the guy runs it. Stands and which you too start off after get show the room. Down stairs shower was cold. They stand an watch you cook for the first night. The last day you there your food gets taken & your milk gets used. Leave you with nothing too eat on the last night. A young couple having sexs very night. You can smell the condon very night. Was made me sick again.
- Yiw (10/5): -
- Sabine (8/5): -
- Fern (9/5): A good place to stay in Napier - Love their strategic location, just beside Napier Beach and Aquarium and their friendly receptionist. It's a little bit cold during winter night because of the breeze from the window.
- Stormy (8/5): Beautiful - The view the atmosphere the vibe N/A
- Hsuan (8/5): Very good - Great location — very close to the grocery store and the beach. The room was spacious enough to fully open a large suitcase with no problem. Really appreciated the extra space and convenience. there are too many long-term guests who treat the place like their own home. They often play loud music without consideration for others and dominate shared spaces like the kitchen for extended periods. This creates an unwelcoming atmosphere for short-term travelers who are just passing through.
- Huang (10/5): Exceptional -
- Huang (10/5): Exceptional -
- Raju (8/5): Very good -
- Rachel (4/5): If there was new carpet and the cleaning was way better it would have been fine - Female only room and the curtains around each bed Carpet was filthy, especially the stairs- it wasn’t vacuumed the whole week I was there and the bathroom was dirty too
- Matias (5/5): Really nice place, but bedbugs should be erased. - Close to the beach. Nice house. Value for money. I like the curtains for each of the beds. Not much light if you like darkness, as I, so it was great. BEDBUGS. That was the only thing to be honest. I had to wake up several times to find them and kill them. Not ideal.
It would have recieved a way better score if it was not for this.
- David (3/5): Could've hired more staff. - Good location near beach. Manager very rude, childish, refused to open door after I rung it and another guest he opened door or me 18 minutes later, very dirty hostel, bad cutting knives are dangerous and blunt, unstable when cutting food. Danger of bleeding fingers.
- Sandra (5/5): Passable -
- Ching (7/5): Good -
- Indra (8/5): Very good -
- Sauca (2/5): Very poor - Just the balcony view The congested room and bathroom. Safety wise
- Ah (8/5): Very good -
- Patricia (8/5): Very good -
- Isabel (7/5): Not so much a vibe for travelers, but fine for the price and location if traveling by car. - Ample free street parking, walkable location. Well supplied kitchen. Just enough space in the pantry and fridge. Each bed has its own storage, light, and power outlet. Mattress sunk in the middle, could use bed frames to add privacy curtains for a little upgrade. Weird smells upstairs at times. Not really a traveler vibe, felt more like people living there long term, which makes sense with the backpacker jobs in the area.
Really disappointed with the bathrooms; one combined shower/toilet on the ground floor, one unisex s/t upstairs, and one toilet and 2 showers with a sink. The shower stalls had doors but the bathroom entrance itself did not and was unisex, which made me uncomfortable as a woman. The unisex shower/toilet was usually occupied in the evenings whenever I got ready to shower, and could be occupied by someone just using the toilet, not even the shower. They have been upgraded but more women only options would be nice. (My dorm room was women only, at least.)
- Resham (8/5): Very good -
- Mikaela (6/5): Pleasant - It was quite cheap and I booked pretty last minute! It is located right on the boardwalk, and it is around 20 minutes walking to the town center which is nice. The bedrooms didn't have anywhere to lock up your belongings, and the beds weren't suuuuper comfortable, but it did the job
- Hooi (8/5): Good and worth the value. - In front of the lodge was the beautiful sea view. I love it so muchhhh. Can see the sunrise from the window. It's few shared bathrooms in the lodge. But it doesn't cause big problem for me.
