Guest Reviews
- Linda (10/5): Beautiful peaceful incredible view - The communication and very clear instructions the location everything very well appointed and little extras Nothing
- Tom (9/5): - Stunning views!!! Virtually on the beach at Alonnah, sitting on the deck overlooking Satellite Island for sunset was incredible.
- Jane (10/5): Stunning peaceful retreat in paradise - It is just a stunning place to stay. From the moment we stepped through the door we were overwhelmed by the uninterrupted view to the water and Satellite Island with boats in the foreground. Every detail of the house is perfect and we loved the added touches of a bottle of local sparkling rosé and chocolates. Nothing
- Patricia (9/5): -
- alannah (10/5): Amazing location, amazing house and amenities. Will be back for sure!! -
- Briskey (10/5): Exceptional -
- Peter (9/5): Very pleasant beach house with a lovely outlook. - Very nice house perfect for a maximum 4 people (we were 3) for a short stay. All the amenities in the house you would hope for were available (especially in the kitchen for eating in) - nice touch with a hamper of food items good for a couple of days. (Otherwise bring what you want from the mainland). Beautiful outlook to the water - very quiet surroundings. Bruny Hotel a 1km walk away, otherwise anywhere else to eat out is a car ride away. Great comms with the landlord/owner - very responsive and helpful. Nothing we could fault. Keep up the standards.
- Evan (9/5): Superb - This is a great seafront cottage beautifully curated and in a secluded quiet seafront location. Would definitely stay again.
- Minton-connell (9/5): Superb - the outlook
- Hayley (9/5): Beautiful view, beautiful rooms, beautiful stay! - The location and remoteness was amazing. It was hard to find towels for four people.
- Lisa (10/5): Perfect place to relax - A beautiful relaxing little cottage in a fabulous position with lots of thoughtful little touches, a breakfast box was provided with lovely fresh eggs, juice and more, little bottles of gin and cold tonic were complimentary and a bag of ice in the freezer - love that! Shampoo, hand wash etc are all gorgeous Salus brand, bed was so comfy! The outlook is beautiful, quiet and private, there is an outdoor bath and a great fire pit with plenty of wood ready to go. A gate takes you down to the beach for lovely walks and wallaby’s feeding at sunset. It’s a great place to completely relax, I just wish we had more than 2 nights there. Sophie emailed and suggested we stock up on groceries before we came over which was a must as there’s not much on the island, however the pub is walking distance. Nothing
- Sue (10/5): It felt like a warm hug. So good we did not want to leave and some styling tips for our own home. Well done. - The relaxing feel and position. The bird life especially little wrens. The beach styling of house felt like home. The bathroom was a little tight but it worked.
- Jodie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lindell (10/5): Gorgeous house styled like something out of a magazine with incredible water views! Delicious breakfast hamper! Thorough - Everything!
- Angela (8/5): Very good - The honey wasn’t provided which is what we were most excited about. There was no cloth to wipe down the counters of the bench.
- Natasha (9/5): Lovely property but the location let it down. - Loved the interiors, very good quality fittings and linens. Couldn’t fault the styling Immediate vicinity was disappointing. Scruffy area, partly booked this house knowing there was a local shop in walking distance. However the shop was permanently closed, if we were told this in advance, we would have stocked up in Hobart! Had to go all the way back on ourselves to adventure bay for groceries which was a pain. Also no honey was provided in welcome pack, it was implied that there would be some when booking
- John (8/5): Very good -
- Thipsavanh (10/5): Exceptional - Great communication from the Bruny Boathouse team, the little extras such as the breakfast hamper made this stay very special. The view on the balcony was incredible! Would definitely rebook and recommend this stay in Bruny!
- Vicki (10/5): Wished we could have stayed weeks not days :) - Absolutely Everything. The property is so adorable, and the position is perfect. Nothing
- Mary (10/5): Great base for Bruny Island - We loved Bruny Boathouse for its location and its luxurious atmosphere. The views are spectacular from the living area and master bedroom. Once you arrive you won’t want to leave so take up Sophie on her hamper suggestions. Food supplies are not easy to gather and you will want to enjoy all your meals at the Boathouse. It was very clean, modern and tastefully decorated. Linens and towels were high end luxury grade as were the soaps etc. You wont want to leave! Nothing to dislike.
- Lorae (10/5): Exceptional - Fabulous location to watch the Bruny sky’s and sea
Very homely and had everything you could need or want
Great provisions for our 4 night stay
- Penny (9/5): Awesome trip. - Everything was amazing!
- Emily (9/5): Superb - The most relaxing picturesque boathouse- they really have thought of every little detail when decorating. The breakfast hamper and bubbly was just such a lovely touch too! The bed was super comfortable and all amenities amazing- sat with a gin and tonic and played connect 4 on the deck in the evening- bliss! Everything was perfect- it was definitely more expensive than what I would usually pay and I went back and forth about whether to book it but I am so glad I did- memories last a life time!
- Rosie (10/5): Fabulous location, stunning house, lovely complimentary gin and sparkling. Highly recommend to anyon - Fabulous location, stunning house, lovely complimentary gin and sparkling. Highly recommend to anyone going to Bruny. There is even an amazing outdoor shower and bath that are perfect post dip! Nothing!
- Sarah (9/5): Beautiful house in an idyllic location - Beautiful house in an idyllic location, superb hosts with quick clear communication, really focused on making sure your stay is memorable. Great cooking facilities, amazing views!
- Janice (10/5): Exquisite Coastal Property - We couldn't have asked for more! The Boathouse is an exceptional property: the interior design has been exquisitely curated, and it is very generously appointed. The owners have thought of absolutely everything! The beds were sumptuous and comfortable with cloud-like mattress toppers, expensive linen also graced the bed. Indeed, the entire property oozed quality and class! We simply loved this property and our stay exceeded all expectations. The outdoor bath and shower and fire pit was unexpected and also a boon. We had the most fabulous stay and none of us would hesitate recommending this gorgeous property to friends and family. There were so many thoughtful additions and touches. The hamper and bubbles were also gratefully received - a divine touch! The property, though fairly close to other properties felt private and offered a serene and rejuvenating experience - a true retreat from the hustle and bustle of life. We have stayed in many properties in Bruny Island over the years and this was my favourite without doubt! Alonnah too is a great spot to base yourself! Nothing to complain about! We loved this property. As a teensy aside, a 2nd bathroom would have made our stay perfect plus plus plus, but honestly such a tiny thing, and overall, did not impact negatively on our stay at all! Book it whilst you can!
- Nic (10/5): Exceptional -
- Adele (9/5): We felt at home the moment we walked in. - The house was beautifully decorated, warm and very cosy. We felt very much at home. The view was gorgeous and the expansive deck was a nice place to have our meals. We lit the fire pit for warmth as we watched the sunset. Thank you for the lovely hamper with locally sourced produce, from which we made a delicious breakfast with the fully equipped kitchen. Having Netflix was a plus! Location was convenient and it was also quiet and peaceful. We wished we had stayed longer. It would have be great to have a dryer!
- Anonymous (10/5): The most luxurious and nurturing stay. Wish we could have stayed for longer to enjoy the comfortable beds, bath and fire - It was beautifully designed and exceptionally luxurious and comfortable. The hosts were very generous with drinks on arrival, breakfast and additional goodies to make us feel welcome and spoilt. I came to Bruny to treat my mum and we both felt very catered and cared for. Loved it all, the shower soap and bed linen was also divine. Thank you. 🙏 Just missing a hand towel and floor mat in shower room. Not an issue. We just used a washer to dry hands and spare towel for floor :)
- Samantha (10/5): Beyond all expectations! - No words can properly describe this stay. The house was so clean, so picturesque and there were lovely personal touches from the hosts that were the icing on the cake! We were so impressed by the quality and standard of the furnishings and bedding, it was so classy and comfortable. You can really feel that this place is the product of a labour of love, we appreciated it all. We have absolutely no suggestions for any improvements - we would come again and would recommend to anyone!
- Megan (10/5): Stunning location and accommodation - A relaxing night away in a stunning location. The Boathouse is beautifully decorated and so homely. We didn’t want to leave.
Great communication from host Sophie and a delicious breakfast hamper to enjoy in the morning. Thank you 🙌

- Louise (10/5): A perfect place to stop and catch your breath. - Everything.
Location, comfort, cleanliness, attention to detail.
Styling was outstanding.. amazing art on the wall.
The view was breathtaking
- Charlene (9/5): Excellent accommodation and beautiful view - Everything was wonderful, great views, very quiet and lovely furnished. Wish we could have stayed longer. Kitchen was fully equipped and we were able to enjoy the fire pit first night as the winter weather was mild enough. My partner loved it too. Highly recommend. The bed in the main bedroom was extremely uncomfortable. It was saggy and lumpy.
- Jodi (10/5): Exceptional - Was a beautiful little home
- Kelsey (10/5): Highly reccomend it’s beautiful - Amazing it’s was fully equipped, clean and the beds were so comfy!
- Rachelle (10/5): Relaxing night - The location was wonderful. I loved the view of the water I requested the king bed be made up as 2 singles but that wasn’t the case when we showed up. Not a huge deal, just had to sleep with my Mum!
