- Sylvia (8/5): -
- Bernie (10/5): - Super spot
Great breakfasts!
- Alan (9/5): Comfortable, local and adaptable for dog - Dog friendly Complexity of lighting and heating
- Barbara (8/5): Great stay at Glenisle Cottage - The cottage was lovely and in very close proximity to the hotel. Can’t say there was nothing we didn’t like about the cottage
- James (10/5): Had a lovely relaxing weekend - I liked that all the staff were friendly. Meals were excellent. The accommodation and balcony were all lovely. We sat in the sun for hours on the balcony - amazing. Nothing
- William (9/5): Loved it - Great choice at breakfast bar staff waiting staff reception All very attentive
- Geoffrey Neil (9/5): - Spacious, location great, hotel bar & restaurant nice
- Karen (9/5): Lovely quiet cosy stay. I love peace and quiet. Glenisle Cottage is just that. - Everything! So quiet, no noise disturbance. I need to know how the heated towel rail in the bathroom works. I couldn't get it to heat up and I don't know how I do that. I managed the underfloor heating fine.
- Paul (10/5): Brilliant - Very like home from home
- Karen (9/5): A lovely relaxing stay with great friendly, helpful staff in Hotel attached to cottage . - Lovely decking to sit in sunshine, large walk in wardrobe, large shower and comfy chairs with large tv! Could have had more kitchen utensils and equipment .
- Karen (9/5): Warm cosy stay with lots of peace and quiet. - The property is lovely and quiet - I get a really good night's sleep because there is no noise disturbance from other residents as is usually the case in a hotel (loud voices, slammed doors). Nothing really.
- Sam (8/5): - Fantastic location, clean accommodation and we received a lovely breakfast from the hotel. Getting the keys was very easy and the hotel gave us great service. We didn’t like the cinema room style couch. It wasn’t great for a couples stay, it forces you to sit apart and it doesn’t fit in with the cozy feel of the rest of the cottage.
- Ca (10/5): Delighted to have found Bayview cottage, will definitely book again. - The location was perfect, the most beautiful beautiful view to sit and admire in the Arran sunshine. So happy to find such good Dog friendly accommodation.
Was delighted with the cinema chairs in the living room area. Amazing.
Breakfast being included in the Glenisle Hotel was a fantastic bonus & delicious too.
Tried to rebook for August, but it was already fully booked!! A couple more wine glasses in the cupboard!
- SB09 (10/5): -
- Sarah (10/5): -
- Lindy Lou (10/5): Top Notch - Great location and lovely cottage. Well equipped and very comfortable. Great little welcome pack. They even decorated the cottage with a Christmas tree and decorations! The breakfast in the hotel was top notch. A very dog friendly place with fantastic staff. The evening entertainment was good too. I will definitely be back soon.
- Judith (8/5): -
- Michalina (10/5): Perfect not-so-little seaside cottage - Everything
- Tracey (10/5): Exceptional Getaway in Arran - The cottage itself was clean, spacious and warm. Bed was comfy and there is a walk in wardrobe. Lovely balcony with stunning view of Holy Island. We had breakfast at the Glenisle pub right next to the cottage. Breakfast was varied and delicious but the full Scottish breakfast was exceptional. Every single member of staff were polite, friendly and made us feel very welcome. They couldn't do enough for us, especially the lady who served us breakfast every morning. I would definitely stay there again. Nothing
- Gareth (9/5): Peaceful Stay in a Lovely Cottage - The cottage was quiet and very comfortable. It was great for us to switch off for a few days and enjoy some peace and quiet. It's an excellent size and well equipped with a very large TV and a cinema style couch and the kitchen was modern with everything you would need. Having a washer and dryer was also a great bonus. Once we figured out the heating it was lovely and cosy! The staff were all friendly and helpful and we really enjoyed our breakfasts each morning - so much so our usual order was remembered and we really appreciated that. It's in a great location - a short drive from the ferry and an excellent place to base yourself to explore the island. It would be a great addition to have a small welcome pack to explain how the heating works - to save you having to ask the staff to come up to the cottage to show you. A few small areas - namely in the bathroom and wardrobe area could do with some DIY/painting but it didn't detract from our lovely stay.
- Jane (9/5): Great location, fab breakfast, all good - Fabulous huge breakfast included Sofa was a bit big .
- Ruth (8/5): - Staff were lovely, food was good. breakfast was excellent and we ate here a couple of evenings. Bar and restaurant are relaxing. Super location. We loved Arran and enjoyed the walks, beaches and slowing down. Could do with some instructions of how to work TV etc. Some cleaning materials under the sink would be handy for a quick wipe round.
- ANDREA (8/5): Comfortable accommodation and great friendly staff - Very well appointed and loved the cinema style seating - very quirky The external steps down were a little awkward when carrying luggage especially when wet
- Karen (10/5): Lovely quiet peaceful stay in a snug cottage. - Didn't take advantage of the breakfast. The wee cottage was just delightful, so quiet and peaceful and so well equipped. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen fabulous, there was even a state-of-the-art washing machine and tumble dryer! The massive telly was much appreciated, I had a go on the piano and the big cinema chairs were so comfortable. I could feel the underfloor heating too. It was just a gorgeous experience and absolutely no noise disturbance, unlike in hotel rooms. I shall definitely be returning the next time the cottage becomes available. Nothing at all! The key to the outer door was a bit difficult to operate, the door handle a bit uncooperative.
- Michele (10/5): - It had a lovely view
- Margaret (10/5): -
- Julie (9/5): Perfect for a short stay. - We loved the location and the setting with the view of the bay. We loved the outside decking which was perfect for the weather we had. We loved the lounge with the comfy chairs and TV. The shower was great. Being able to throw open the doors onto the decking was also lovely. Breakfasts were superb. The staff were very friendly. The bed was a bit on the small side. A bin in the bathroom would have been useful. But these were small things and the cottage was otherwise perfect for our short stay.
- Oetse Haagsma (9/5): -
- Lesley (10/5): This was the perfect venue in the perfect location. We were so impressed that we booked immediately for next year! - The cottage is set in the grounds of the Glenisle Hotel and is well appointed for exploring Arran. The view from the decking and two sets of patio doors stretches across the water to the Holy Isle. It is peaceful and relaxing, yet close to all necessary amenities. It is spacious, well-equipped and very comfortable with reclining cinema style chairs, an enormous flat-screen tv, dishwasher, washing machine, dryer and even a walk-in wardrobe. The hotel breakfast was absolutely delicious and the staff are genuinely friendly and cannot do enough for guests. We had our collie dog with us and even he was treated like royalty! Absolutely nothing!
- Alexandra (8/5): - Spacious, clean and comfortable Nothing
- Alan (9/5): Superb -
- Maureen (8/5): Lovely cottage, great location and would definitely book again - Great location, plenty of parking, easy to collect and return keys, and option of breakfast if we needed it. Bayview Cottage had all you would need from TV, to washing machine, tumble drier and hairdrier too. Nothing - enjoyed our stay
- Gillian (7/5): Good -
- Sandra (5/5): Okay but would benefit from a bit of a refurb and fixing up - Good size and it was clean. Property is in a nice location. A bit tired and in need of some TLC. Shower temp wasn’t working and only had quite a hot temperature, couldn’t turn it down. Missing some basic essentials such a baking tray, dishwasher tablets for the dishwasher which you may expect to find, dish towel etc.
- Yanina (8/5): Very good - Excellent
- John (9/5): Superb - Great location, hotel was excellent, we enjoyed our stay very much. Was a self catering apartment , we could have been provided with basic washing up items for washing & drying the cups & dishes.
- Alan (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (9/5): Lovely cottage in a fantastic location - Breakfast (included) and meals at Glenisle Hotel were excellent. Cottage is very spacious and comfortable and set in an ideal location. Special call out to Joy on the reception who couldn't have been more helpful or welcoming. Struggled to control shower temperature
- Lawrence (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jennifer (8/5): Double Booked - We were booked for the cottage but whilst waiting to board the ferry we were phoned by Joy to say that they had double booked our cottage as a couple had arrived evening before and they got our cottage "someone hadn't put it in diary"!
We accepted their offer of an upgrade to The Suite in the hotel as it was too late to change our plans as we were about to board.
When we got there however the suite was on the top floor with treacherous carpeting, on 29 stairs. I was scared of falling on them.
On first glance The Suite was ok but using it there were several faults that began to emerge,
One side of the bed was a low sloping ceiling which you had to duck your head to get in/out of bed and do a low stoop.Bedside lights were extremely bright not good when one was reading and other trying to sleep.
Getting in out of bathroom was through a lowish sloping ceiling also required head ducking.
Also using the toilet, [which was placed almost in the centre of the room!] required more head ducking.
The two hand basins taps were extremely close to the edge of the basin so water didn't flow easily to rinse your hands under.
The breakfast was very good and lots of it. The staff were very pleasant and hard working and they were very busy at all times. Beer garden was well used it was during a very glorious hot sunny week.
We both feel we would have preferred our first choice of accommodation of cottage as we would have been able to use the patio area and felt the need to walk about without a permanent stoop. The above!
Sorry too much to rewrite!
- Tim (10/5): Exceptional - lovely little cottage, with views of sea.
- Pearce (10/5): Special - Property was very Homey, light, clean and spacious
Staff all so friendly and welcoming and helped make our stay for my partners birthday one we will never forget. Special shout out to Angela who was always there to greet us in the morning for breakfast and serve us drinks with a smile in the evening each day we were staying Coffee machine hadn’t been cleaned or checked for a very long time as found a significant amount of mould in it and temperature gauge appeared to not be working as we couldn’t adjust shower temperature
- Jacqui (9/5): We loved our stay here and would definitely come back. - Location was lovely. Handy having a green across the road to walk the dog. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Added bonus of a superb breakfast at the hotel. Kitchen could have been a bit better equipped but we managed as only there for 2 days.
- Joanne (10/5): Wonderful - Clean, spacious property with a bay view. Easy parking. Lovely balcony to sit on in the sunshine. Great choice of breakfast and very friendly and accommodating staff. Ideal for a short break on Arran. Nothing
- Malcolm (10/5): Perfect getaway! - Quiet location but close to everything. Very spacious with all home comforts.
- Lisa (10/5): Highly recommend - Fantastic big space, a cross from the beach, great outdoor space for when the sun makes an appearance! Hotel next door was great, amazing breakfast and food. Staff very helpful and accommodating. As we weren't a couple the sleeping arrangements weren't ideal, a fold out bed would be great so more people could use the space?
- David (10/5): Wonderful cottage - We were made very welcome by all staff. The cottage is spacious, well equipped, and was spotlessly clean. Its location is excellent, a few yards from the beach in the centre of Lamlash. Breakfast at the Glenisle Hotel was also excellent served by the friendly staff.
- Robert (9/5): A wonderful much needed holiday and enormous thanks to Joy, Nathan and Shaun. - Breakfast was superb, location was superb, staff were superb, dinner was superb. In fact everything was superb! Even the weather was supberb. Going home.
- Anne (10/5): Great short break, perfect accommodation and exceptional service - Warm welcome and keys handed over promptly Nothing
- Josh (9/5): Wee enjoyed a few days at this cottage was really nice very spacious kitchen was nice, just as the bathroom and bedroom - We liked everything about this cottage N/A
- Flossie33 (9/5): A gem - Amazing property, ideal position. Great to be near Glenisle hotel for the inclusive breakfast and other meals Noise from heating system in bedroom,a few utensils and no teaspoons. Be nice to have tea and coffee sachets available.
- Lindsay (10/5): Can wait to revisit - it’s was the best - Customer care was impeccable
Clean
Staff were amazing every single one - so friendly and accommodating-
Breakfast was lovely
Had best of both worlds
Outstanding views
- Rebecca (9/5): Wonderful and comfortable - Excellent location, lovely views of Lamlash bay and the Holy Isle. Staff were super accommodating and welcome, we felt right at home. Cottage was super spacious and private with underfloor heating and recliner chairs in the living room to accompany the massive Tv. We would 100% stay here again and have already recommended it to family.
- Julie (7/5): It was fine. A few details like the ice rink we had nto negotiate in freezing weather to enter and exit, x could easily - Lots of space and storage. Washing machine and tumble dryer as well as hood fridge freezer and microwave. Comfortable bed. Huge set of cinema style chairs in the living room was weird. The living room is essentially a ‘cinema room’? Speakers on the ceiling that don’t work (yet?) Frozen ground on the pathway and steps to cottage should have been gritted. This was a serious injury risk on the freezing cold mornings while we stayed.
No info in the cottage re how anything works. None, on how to work the heating or anything else. No one had put the heating on for our arrival and the cottage was freezing on Dec 31st. We figured it out ourselves.
- Weir (8/5): Very good -
- Jody (8/5): Very enjoyable and comfortable. - Breakfasts were excellent. Service was prompt and friendly.
Will definately be coming back.
Thank you Couldnt turn the heat down on the shower.
- Michalina (10/5): Absolute gem of a place - It completely exceeded our expectations. Very large and comfortable space with everything one might need; washing machine, dryer, decent coffee maker, heated floor, lovely shower, decking with a sea-view .. and a piano, such a nice touch 😊
Located on the premises of Glenisle hotel, where you get the breakfast (delicious, served promptly by incredibly attentive and friendly staff). Everything was perfect
- Tony (10/5): Just didn’t want to leave. - Very spacious apartment. Views and location exceptional. Hotel itself was lovely and welcoming. The Asst Manager, who seemed to work an incredible amount of work hours, was brilliant, very helpful and very courteous. The breakfast was worth the booking alone. When back in Arran an automatic rebook. Exceptional. Nothing to dislike. Not one single thing.
- Janet (10/5): Fab couple of days in Arran , Gelenisle Hotel and Bayview Cottage made it just perfect holiday . - Excellent ❤️ highly recommend. - Emma (10/5): Great staff, accommodation and food - Great
- Ann (10/5): Exceptional - The cottage is huge for a 1 bed ...great faciltiies. Local to everything., Quiet,.Huge decked area for relaxing and enjoying the view ... lovely gardens. Babbling brook at side of cottage. Parking . Great staff, breakfast fantastic. Great choices... Couldnt work out the lighting. Maybe a welcome pack with instructions would be my reccomendation

- Michael (10/5): Exceptional - Good; lots of choice and well cooked. Nothing
- Moira (8/5): Enjoyed our stay on a beautiful island. - Location was great . Breakfast at the Glenisle hotel was very good and availability of dinner and drinks. The bed was comfortable but small. No tea, milk or coffee supplied .
- Tim (6/5): Pleasant - Spacious lounge and kitchen
Large wardrobe
Modern kitchen and bathroom
Lovely veranda
Good breakfasts included
Arran location lovely
EV car charger
Piano No sofa, uncomfortable armchairs. Difficult to relax when seated
No table & chairs for eating at
Poorly equipped kitchen (utensils etc lacking)
Almost no view of sea and sea front (car park and back of hotel)
TV and lighting in lounge complicated to use and no instructions
No extraction fan in bathroom
Only step access and steps narrow-depth (non regulation size)
- Laura (8/5): Very good - Good space , kitchen and outside sitting area
Enjoyed a good breakfast in the hotel
- Gillian (10/5): Excellent short stay, in a wonderful location - Breakfast was very good and excellent choices Nothing could have been better
- Steve (8/5): Lovely spacious apartment, right on the beach - Excellent breakfasts, and dinner menu, great location, lovely welcoming staff. Gorgeous gardens, including veggies. Loved the huge tv and cinema style chairs (not accurately described on website) Also loved the dressing room and laundry facilities. Everything was very clean and shiny! We liked having bbc iplayer The website pix imply that the cottage is smaller than it actually is both inside and outside so we were pleasantly surprised . A few tiny things to note: there was only 1 wine glass, no beer glasses and we couldn’t figure out all the lighting, or how to make the cinema chairs recline ( but it didn’t matter) Maybe some printed instructions?
- Alex (8/5): Brilliant, would visit again. - I thought the location was perfect for our holiday, the breakfast was delicious and a great value for money if you were paying .
The cottage was beautiful with great parking and the view was exceptional. The wifi would not connect to our devices. Light switches in the living room/kitchen area were very difficult to use.
- Judith (8/5): We loved our visit to lamlash - Great location and lovely view. Clean, spacious accommodation. We had breakfast in the hotel and the young waiting staff were particularly pleasant. No table or chairs to eat at. There was no attention to detail in the decor….. four attached, reclining leather chairs facing a huge tv…… good for watching a film but not great for conversation or playing board games.
- Alison (9/5): Superb - Amazing breakfast! Local produce too.
Very friendly staff team.
Restaurant attached to hotel was top class for very reasonable prices and beautiful views.
- Tracy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Margaret (10/5): Excellent - Great facilities staff lovely food great breakfast so close to everything
- Michelle (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (9/5): Superb - Piano
Walkin wardrobe
TV
Hotel service
Brilliant staff No bin in bathroom
Lack of tea & coffee
- Andrew (9/5): Superb -
- Glenda (10/5): Fantastic few days at Bayview Cottage which was very comfortable. - Location was great. Property was spacious, clean and very comfortable. Breakfast at the Glenisle Hotel was included and was of a very high standard. Staff were lovely and couldn’t have been more helpful. Hotel bar was open until 11pm and was cosy and welcoming. Hotel restaurant served a good variety of food of a very high quality. Parking for about half a dozen cars in the hotel car park but plenty of other space available on the street and in other nearby car parks. Overly complicated lighting system in the living room/kitchen. We managed with just the two free standing lamps. Would have benefited from an Information pack with WiFi details, instructions on how to work the TV setup etc
- Chris (9/5): Superb - Breakfast and dinner were amazing. Staff couldn't do enough for you. Location was excellent, close to other bars and restaurants and just a short drive to Brodick. Absolutely nothing. Really enjoyed our stay from start to finish.
- Shirley (8/5): Very good - Loved the staff. The self contained space and the place is dog friendly. The photos make it appear as if it is right on the beach. It is infact at the back of a hotel car park and mostly faces the back of the hotel. Which is across the road from the beach.
- William (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent breakfasts in the hotel.
Very modern facilities in the cottage.
Nathan, the assistant manager, was very friendly and helpful. No instructions on how to operate the lights, boiler or oven. Fortunately Nathan was very helpful with this.
Although we did not cook, there was no table and chairs in the cottage.
Breakfast service was much slower on the third morning which resulted in us being late to arrive at the ferry terminal even although we had been in the restaurant at 8.00am.
- Thomas (8/5): We really enjoyed the place, hotel and cottage. Just needs maintained better and cleaned properly. - Breakfast very good. Location very good. Lovely cottage, good size, good view. Plenty space for clothes etc. Not clean enough, dirty windows, couch dirty etc.
No instructions on heating control.
No instructions on light control, over complicated system. Basic light switches would be enough. Some lights faulty. I actually fell on entrance path to stairs to property. A slippery, carpet mat was covering a very uneven surface below where there was a hole in the concrete.
- Sigurd (10/5): Exceptional -
- Steven (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic location and we got upgraded to a deluxe apartment. Lovely breakfast and friendly staff.
- Richard (6/5): Pleasant - Different cottage to one advertised. More modern but needed some additional updates finished No dinner table and kitchen utensils sparse.
Cobwebs on roof and lighting system took some figuring out.
- James (8/5): Very good - good breakfast all freshly maid the cottage we were given was not bay view as there was a problem with it steps up to cottage were in disrepair possibly even dangerous
- Caitlin (10/5): Brilliant accomodation, excellent hosts, happy customers and happy dog! - We had a fantastic stay with the glen isle hotel. We were moved into a different accommodation lodge upon arrival and it was perfect for us and our dog - super comfy, warm, had everything we needed. We had to extend our stay as the ferry broke down and left us stranded, luckily there was a cancellation so we could extend our stay here - we were super grateful and had a fantastic time. The free breakfast was a great bonus and they offered fab choices for vegans. Wasn't a huge array of cooking implements but enough for what we needed.
- Scott (10/5): Very pleasant -
- Europilot (9/5): Perfect base from where to explore Arran - Beautiful, well equipped self-contained cottage.
Although there were a number of varied issues during our stay all were well sorted out once the staff were made aware. During meals staff and management seemed overloaded.
This led to them being totally focussed on the one task at hand and often unaware of what was happening around them - such as customers trying to get their attention.
The staff were genuinely helpful and pleasant and things will improve with experience.
- David (9/5): Enjoyed it immensely - would definitely recommend - Excellent breakfast
- Michelle (10/5): A hidden gem - We actually stayed in Glenisle Cottage as Bayview was having work done.
We loved the huge sun deck, the spacious rooms, great shower, plenty of kitchen utensils. There was nothing we didn't like.
- David (10/5): Superb, would definitely recommend and hope to return in the future. - We were upgraded from Bayview Cottage to Glenisle Cottage. Property was spacious, clean and very comfortable. Only issue we’re a couple of light fittings which flickered but that did not detract from the overall excellent quality of the cottage. Full kitchen, spacious living area with large screen TV and very comfortable bed in the bedroom. French doors in bedroom and living room open onto the large verandah/deck. Nothing
- Amanda (10/5): very modern cottsge great balcony near all the facilities - the pictures don’t do it justice very modern
