- Arneau (9/5): suberb - Everything The parking spaces are a bit trickey
- Emma (10/5): - Great quiet accommodation at the base of table mountain which a fantastic view from the rooms.
The house was well equipped with everything you could ever need, even a sauna!
Staff were very accommodating allowing us to drop our bags early and leave following check out so really appreciated their support. Nothing.

- S.Zander (8/5): - Ein wunderbares Haus.

- Vilhjálmur (9/5): - For me it was perfect location. The staff was really helpful and accommodating.
- Muzi (10/5): -
- Gordon (6/5): Nice property and the daily staff are friendly but the management side leaves a lot to be desired... - Location and rooms are very nice. They charge a breakage deposit on booking and tell you to claim it back in cash on check out. When you inquire about it, no one knows anything. They had to phone the off duty manager to speak to him. He was very flippant and inferred that he did not know anything about it and that we were just being difficult customers. It also seems to be an issue to get an invoice from them. The off street parking offered is not practical for any normal sized vehicle either. Be prepared to park in the street.

- Johan (7/5): - The house is beautiful and in a great location. The staff were friendly. I found some aspects quite run down. The shutter in my room was not secure, as the bar just below the hook had been broken out, allowing for someone to unlock it from the outside. The curtains looked old and were stained with what looked like blood streaks . The hand towel for the bathroom was severely stained, and one couldn’t figure out if it was dirt or just stains that couldn’t be removed in the wash. As I was a single guest, I simply didn’t use it. The grill covering the extractor fan in the bathroom was completely clogged with dust from years of not being cleaned. I also feel that the security of the main entrance is not good. To simply have a door with a lockable door knob without a security gate in this part of the city seems totally inadequate. There was no safe in my room to lock away valuables and passports. These are, again, issues that can easily be resolved with minimal expense, and would really bring this guesthouse up to the level it advertises at.
- Philippa (8/5): -
- Gaynor (4/5): - The location Sahbby. No staff at all besides on arrival.
- Dominique (10/5): - Everything was top form. Nothing lacked. Nothing.

- May (10/5): -
- Francesca (7/5): A stunning house, very conveniently located - Beautiful room and furnishings, very comfortable The gate didn’t close properly, so we had to fiddle quite a lot to try and solve it when we came back the first evening.
The staff were friendly, but there were frequent Lu times when it would have been good to have a manager present.
- Robyn (9/5): Heerlijk verblijf, prachtige locatie! - De accommodatie zag er práchtig en goed verzorgd uit. Onze host heeft ons fantastisch verzorgd tijdens ons verblijf. Ook de hottub was geweldig! -
- Seth (10/5): -
- Robert (8/5): - Very nice old fashioned-style room, comfy bed
Beautiful view from veranda
Good coffee Breakfast was not good. Fortunately there is a really good Cafe 2 blocks away with excellent breakfast and lunch
- May (10/5): - Clean and beautiful Nothing
- Adri (10/5): Very Relaxing and so close to Table Mountain - I love staying at Belvedere- quite neighbourhood- lovely short walk to Kloof Street with all vibrant pubs and restaurants- very friendly staff and love the attention to detail

- May (10/5): -
- Gelling (10/5): - Very comfortable room with amazing views of Table Mountain. Staff were super friendly and helpful.
We had a great time using the sauna and jacuzzi.
It is also very central which was a big bonus.
Will definitely be visiting again!
- Adri (10/5): I will stay here every time I visit Cape Town - I loved the quietness and beautiful interior friendly staff and coffee shop Nothing
- Dominique (10/5): Wonderful time - Quiet, tidy, easy accessible. As always, it is a pleasure to stay at Belvedere. Staff are always accommodating and helpful. Nothing
- Van niekerk (10/5): -
- Lauren (10/5): Exceptional - Location, clean, comfortable, safe
- Philip (8/5): Very good - All of our needs were satisfied
The staff were friendly and efficient and not intrusive
We liked the additional security offered on site and on the road The venue suited our needs and expectations. We did not use the extra facilities like kitchen, sauna or jacuzzi. We had a good stay with good value and could not fault
- Cathryn (8/5): Very good - Exactly as pictured, close to table mountain. Need to phone to get the gate open to get in. Good communication with host prior to arrival. No tea/coffee in room but was in a room across the hall. Very good location for airport (20min) and table mountain.
- Bert (8/5): Great Mountain View’s - This beautifully renovated Victorian style home offered great view of Table Mountain in a safe neighborhood. The Belvedere offered no thrill comfortable accommodation. You don’t even get complimentary drinking water in the room. We had made reservations to use the jacuzzi one early evening but the water was barely warm. You barely see much of the staff to ask for anything. The bed is very comfortable and the Aircon worked great and there were plenty of power outlets.
- Delphine (7/5): Good - The room, clean and confortable No relationships with the owner.
- Dominique (10/5): Excellent visit again.. - The visit was once again lovely. It's definitely one of my favorite places in Cape Town. It was a lovely evening and I could sit on the balcony and enjoy the view. Had a wonderful evening and slept well. Thank you Belvedere Nothing, everything was super
- Dominique (10/5): Fantastic guesthouse - I loved that I was in the heart of Cape Town but didn't feel like it. Tranquility and relaxation. Was comfortable and everything was fabulous. Nothing, everything was perfect.
- Brenda (8/5): Worked well for us. Good location. Beautiful house. The sauna and jaccuzi were a nice touch. - Perfect for the overnight we were looking for. Enjoyed the sauna and jacuzzi.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The pillows if you do not like very high pillows! A reminder to travel with my own pillow.
Everything else was great. Would recommend a little Q20 on the squeaky cupboard doors and dimming the passage lights at night as they shine in through the doors which do not seal well.
- James (5/5): Passable - Location Wasnt what we expected, no bath tub as advertised, shower door broken, and general appearance of the room was not up to the price.
Condoments like sugar, in a plastic tub, electric outlets not neat and lay on the floor. The fact that you pay so much without breakfast is hectic.
- Mohamed (5/5): In need of some TLC - Nomi is a lovely lady and a warm host. The linen and towels were clean. The mattress needs to be replaced. The carpet in the room should be updated with laminated flooring to be more hygienic. The dark decor, but that's a personal preference. The outside of the building needs attention.
- Yannick (10/5): Exceptional - Realy nice owner and staff! Last day we had to go away, but we were able to leave our bags all day behind the reception and could even use 1 of the rooms for a quick shower before heading to the airport. Lovely place and location! Beautifull view at Table mountain in the evening btw!
- Steve (7/5): Good - No breakfast provided Small TV's
- Gareth (6/5): Great potential, but needs attention - Location, views, decor Bed mattress was in very poor condition. Coffee machine didn’t work. Staff were not professional
- Elemer (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sara (9/5): Very pleasant - The colonial house is beautifully decorated, the bed was very comfortable and the room had a balcony outside and you can lay in bed with the door open and get the fresh air from the mountain. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The house has a fully equipped kitchen and dinning area which is very convenient. The location is very good and quiet. We really enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend it. The rooms have a carpet, it was clean but i prefer the wooden floors like the rest of the house.
- Edna (6/5): A lovely Guest House but in need of some TLC from the Owners. - Naomi who manages the Guest House is delightful and very caring and accommodating. She really looked after me very well.
Bed was most comfortable.
Location is good - 15 minutes downhill walk to Gardens Centre.
Good WIFI The lighting in room 4 is very poor - the main light is fine but the bedside lights have very dim globes which means you are in virtual darkness - it is impossible to read in bed at night. The room itself is nicely decorated but it is rather dark due to the color scheme. There is no functioning window in the room as it is permanently stuck. For fresh air you have to open the doors onto the shared verandah - at night I had to close the green wooden shutters and leave the doors open as I don't use the aircon. From a security point of view this is not the best arrangement security wise. The upkeep of the exterior of the building has been overlooked - shutters need repairs, paint is peeling in places. The Owners need to pay attention to these details as they are charging a rate on par with other guest houses in the area. i needed some emergency first aid but was told there is no first aid kit - the Owners are obliged to have one on site ito Health & Safety Regulations. Naomi kindly showed me the other rooms in the Guest House which have proper windows, lots of natural light etc. If I was to stay there again I would book one of those well in advance.
- Gordon (10/5): Wonderful, elegant place in a wonderful neighborhood to which we plan to return. - The staff members were cordial and informative. The rooms were beautiful--well decorated in a stylish dark green, along with a beautifully white and black tiled floor in the bathroom. The terrace was great. We had room 6, which is the edge terrace on Rosemont. We had a great view of Table Mountain and other nearby mountains. We spent each evening relaxing on that terrace. The internet was strong and reliable, which meant we could listen to music and work easily there before heading out. Nearby places, such as local coffee shops and breakfast houses, are a plus. Our schedule was booked up, so we didn't try the pool or Jacuzzi, but other elements were fine. This was high season, and we were here to celebrate my father-in-law's 80th birthday. This place proved convenient, and my wife simply loved our room.
- Lucie (9/5): Superb - Room was comfortable. Nice shower. Balcony was a nice touch and fab views of Table Mountain! Staff were helpful via WhatsApp if needed. In a very nice area with a few places to eat nearby, and not far from the main attractions still. Some of the photos didn’t quite match up to the property but I think they were having some renovation work done at the time we stayed.
- Philippe (5/5): Passable -
- Kirsten (9/5): Superb -
- Agenbag (10/5): Exceptional -
- Young (5/5): It was fairly ok - The house is beautiful That other guest had access to my room with their own keys
- Anders (1/5): Disappointing, safety concern - Booked 6 nights at Belvedere House. Morning arrival day I got message that «there has been an emg situation» at the guesthouse so they had booked another place. Stayed there for 2 nights and the morning I was supposed to move in I got a new message that it was still not ready and I had to move to yet another guesthouse. Then, after 3 nights I moved at Belvedere house and it was disappointing: Worn, not maintained exterior, house was very sterile, room was okey though, insect colony in coffee maker. I also question the security as there’s no real fence around the house. The gate doesn’t even have a lock! Other houses in the areas have tall fences with electric wires on the top.. Information on booking.com was incorrect and misleading as this place does not have reception and there’s no bar as announced.
Be aware that most of the reviews are old and from a time when this property was run as a regular guesthouse, which it no longer is.
Very disappointing, a lot of other far better options in the area!
- Debbie (8/5): Cape Town escape - We really enjoyed the common space that we could share to stay connected with our traveling companions.
The kitchen was extremely well equipped and accommodating for all our needs.
It was really nice that there was a full size refrigerator and freezer for all of us to use and really appreciated the full size wine glasses! It would have been nice to have more signage or explicit directions on the use of the hot tub and sauna and including the heating/cooling system in the room. It just happened to be a much cooler visit than we anticipated and our rooms were so cold.
The hot tub also seemed dirty with debris in it and took way too long to heat!
- Paula (7/5): Nice enough for a stopover but not one recommend due to the issue of exiting and entering - Room was lovely - very nice decor and comfortable bed. The outside area is a bit run down and communication was not great at all as there is only one remote to the gate that has to be left behind each time you leave. No staff members to be seen.
- Jeanne-marie (9/5): Will definitely be back. Value for money. - King size bed was firm and comfortable. Room and bathroom was spotless. Liked the view and the gracious manor.
- Sinead (10/5): Exceptional - The kind service and friendly and warm welcome received. The cleanliness of the place and the fact that it is historian love the cosy vibe. The jacuzzi and sauna was the best and the beautiful view of our mountain plus it is so peacefully for well resting. I love the easy access to everything needed and the breakfast was delightful I would definitely go back I actually missed the place. It is near to the restaurants and easy access to town. I loved everything about the Belvedere house. No complains would recommend any one who needs resting.
- Shelley (8/5): Convenient location in a quiet area - Large high-ceilinged room, lots of cupboard space, comfortable bed, clean bathroom with nice shower, coffee machine, doors opening onto veranda, sufficient on-street parking, quiet location away from busy roads. The four packets of snacks (peanuts and chips) in the room and available for purchase had all passed their sell-by date months ago.
There was no staff member on site when I checked out, nor visible during the weekend.
The bedside lighting is not bright enough for reading with older eyes.
The keys to the front door and bedroom were tricky to operate. Despite these issues, I would stay again.
- Deep_schismic (9/5): Superb - Lovely house in a great location in Oranjenzicht Parking on-site limited
- Michael (10/5): incredible -
- Merridy (8/5): Peaceful and comfortable. - Beautiful location, views, decor and such lovely staff. Our only concern was security after finding gate and front door unlocked a few times.
- Nathmie (8/5): Very good -
- Malebogo (7/5): Excellent. Wonderful. An experience. Quiet. - The large open room with beautiful decor. The king size bed. And the balcony with a garden table and chairs was an added bonus. I loved that. I just think that the guests need to be informed that the downstairs bathroom is used by all and should be kept clean. I would appreciate if we had access to the kitchen if it is not too much of a hassle.
- Ettie (7/5): Only one night- met my requirements - Decor
- Mariette (8/5): Very good - Lexi was very friendly and helpfull. The room was nice and clean. The bedding was fresh and crisp, we had a good night rest! It feel like home! We would prefer save parking, but do understand that space is a problem.
- Anders (9/5): Superb -
- Morongwa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Morongwa (8/5): Cool - Looks pretty, workers are nice and the owner is amazing. I’ll choose this again when I visit cape-town. There was always some maintenance guys around, fixing something. I think that can compromise how safe we feel
- Resego (10/5): A cozy place, a home away from home which I absolutely loved. A must see. - Great amenities (it has a sauna and jacuzzi, which I love).
It was a cozy home away from home and o absolutely loved it, will definitely come back. Nothing, place was perfect.
- Jeanne (8/5): Very good - The hotel was beautifully styled and there were great views from the balcony. The hotel was a little bit out of the main area but still easy enough to get to.
- Ally (10/5): This place is amazing and I will definitely be back. Definitely the nicest guesthouse I’ve ever stayed in. Thank you Lex - This guesthouse is honestly one of the nicest places I have ever stayed and I have traveled a lot! Lexi and Nomi were fantastic and so helpful and welcoming. The house is just so beautiful and luxurious.
- Justine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Guest (7/5): Due to the really high ratings my expectations were quite high but this is not a boutique hotel and not really a bed and - Good location Lack of manager on site, lack of onsite breakfast, no service…
- Kingfishercorner (10/5): Very good - No breakfast, but excellent facility Parking area too small
- Carlo (10/5): Exceptional - Nice cozy vibe for couples, love the art, nice jacuzzi.
- Mpho (9/5): Superb -
- Ilzkovitz (8/5): Comfortable, well located but no welcoming from owner. - Room was very comfortable as expected. Cleaning service done every day and perfect. House location was also very good and safe in the evening. The welcoming was not done by the owner. So we didn’t get any information to start our visit of the city. This was a shame. Although breakfast was indicated as a possible service at booking time, this service was not offered. We had to take our breakfast outside the premises. So, don’t expect to have experience exchanges with other customers on site.
- Ganiefp (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alek (10/5): Great option for CT - Amazing boutique guesthouse, the design is unique, staff super nice, super treat with the sauna. Perfect place to spend time with larger family as the common areas like dining room, sitting room, kitchen are really spacious and accessible. all went good
- Danielle (2/5): Stay was tarnished by theft incident. - Comfortable bedroom with everything necessary. The theft that took place due to the fact that we had to park on the street. Our vehicle was broken into with R40 000 worth of items stolen.
