Guest Reviews
- emily (10/5): Gemütlich! Cozy! Would love to come again - Sehr netter Gastgeber. Schöne Lage. Uhrig und gemütlich. Lovely host, brilliant location. Quirky, cosy and warm - a lovely escape!
- Kate (9/5): Superb -
- Duncan (7/5): Nice barn but needs attention to details. - The room was pleasant and warm. You can't see the river, but it's only a short walk. The hosts were very friendly and approachable. TV was OK. There was a woodburner, which is pleasant, and a stock of wood to get you going. The description says that there's a fully equipped kitchenette. There isn't. There's a fridge with a microwave sitting on it, a kettle, a toaster and a chopping board. No cooker. No bowls or anything to put food into the microwave. No kitchen utensils to cut up and prepare food. No sink and drainer for washing up - you'd need to use the sink in the bathroom or the shower. Pleasantly furnished but nowhere to store clothes: no wardrobe or chest of drawers. The description give the impression of isolation but, in reality, you're next door to the owners with another family in a building diagonally opposite and there is a house behind with a view into the bathroom which doesn't have a blind. The bathroom itself had no shelves to put your toiletries. Cleaning wasn't bad but could have been better. There was some yellowish fluff (looked like some sort of insulation) on one wall and, behind the sink in the bathroom, rings where it looked like someone had stood up an electric toothbrush and their toothpaste residue had run down. The owners helpfully put a seat on the lawn for us to sit on, but with another family's kids running around, we didn't take up the offer. The hosts provided the wifi code in the welcome pack but didn't say which wifi network it related to (it's on a stone in a basket on the table, if you're looking for it).
- Richard (9/5): A 1970s tranquil gem, this place is spectacular! - The view and location are stunning, the wide open space of the lounge and large windows really showcase the view of the estuary. Not to mention the log fire, also a really nice. Topped off with a stocked kitchen. I didn't read the instructions properly, I had a bit of trouble finding the place. And pressed the wrong buzzer button, and got frustrated. Then realised I hadn't read the instructions. So do read the instructions.
- Stephen (10/5): Had a brilliant stay. - Hosts were excellent. The location is amazing, marina and countryside.

- Michael (10/5): Very peaceful location and surroundings, lovely host. -
- James (9/5): Great location for nature, quiet, a run along the river and fine pub close by. - It's a little hard to find, but help was easily and immediately available.
- Susan (10/5): Enjoyable - Lovely situation close to the water and a good path to walk along. Very quiet but not too isolated. The access road was very uneven and bumpy.
- Simon (9/5): Idyllic location to get away from it all. - Beautiful location, nice helpful hosts. Lovely old converted barn style with beams and feature brick fire place. Very quiet, nice big shared garden, walk through gate right onto the river Hamble.
Various good restaurants, pubs, cafes in walking distance, surrounded by countryside.
- James (10/5): Just what we wanted for a vacation stay! - It was such a peaceful beautiful property. The path along the Hamble River was adjacent to the property with deer and other wildlife seen daily. It was a bit of a walk to the grocery store.

- Clare (8/5): Lovely, quirky, peaceful property in a beautiful location on the Hamble River. - Lovely quiet comfortable property. Fantastic location, right on river. Cafe 5 mins walk away. Lovely owners. Lovely woodburner. Quirky and comfortable. Has fridge, Toaster and kettle. Could do with microwave to reheat food.

- Alison (9/5): Superb -
- Josephine (9/5): Really lovely - Full of character and close to the river. Clean and wonderful comfy bed The shape of the sink meant it wasn’t easy to fill the kettle or to do the washing up
- Mandy (10/5): Beautifully relaxing place that I look forward to returning to soon. - The location was so peaceful and right beside the path by the estuary - the barn itself was lovely and cosy. I would highly recommend this place, it was so peaceful. You could do with a small cupboard to put your clothes.
- Helen (7/5): We enjoyed our stay and we’re pretty flexible re the above, but I guess it wouldn’t suit everyone. - Quirky. Good location by the estuary and good for walking. Lacking in utensils for breakfast plus having to wash dishes in the bathroom.
No hairdryer.

- Russ (10/5): Brilliant location, fabulous accommodation - This is a really lovely self contained barn conversion just a stone throw from the river. Beautiful setting and very comfortable. Very quiet and peaceful. Easy access to Swanwick and very close to the marinas and boating activity. The host was really accommodating. Everything you need in one place. Will definitely stay here again.
