Guest Reviews
- Joycelyn (10/5): Gloucester guest house - The sparrow room was spacious and bright and homely There was also a microwave that wasn't listed on the amenities. We slept well on the comfy bed. The front door code pad to the property was difficult to activate. There weren't any drinking glasses .
- Susan (9/5): - Had all kitchen equipment and utensils. Fairly clean. Central location. Arrangement of furniture in open kitchen/ living area didn’t make sense.
- Ferreira (10/5): - Lovely place close to everything
- Gabriela (9/5): Ótima localização e limpeza - Ambiente tinha tudo que eu precisava para uma curta estadia. Limpeza e organização O chão muito ruim de se locomover na casa . Cada passo fazia um barulho horrível
- Fi. Manchester (7/5): 2 night get away break. - Location perfect for quays and dock area and cathedral. Nice and warm . Good shower. Kitchen was lacking in a few basics. No oven gloves. No baking tray. No scissors . No tea towel. Tiny sofa.

- Anael (8/5): Excelente custo beneficio!! - Apartamento limpo e bem equipado. Boa localização. Faltam utensílios para a cozinha. Falta vassoura ou aspirador para estadias mais longas.
- Barbora (8/5): Amazing location but smaller than expected - Easy to find, parking at the door and on the street. The communication was superb and we had no problems getting in or out. The room was clean, private and quiet. Well sized kitchen and common area. We could easily control the heating so the place was never too hot or too cold. Excellent connection to the city centre - about 10 minute leisurely walk. We didn't need to use our car all weekend! The bathroom sink didn't drain very well and there was only one loo roll. The bedroom and bathroom are smaller than expected but not really an issue if you plan to spend most of the time outside. It's a non-smoking house but people were smoking outside in the garden, so if you're asthmatic like me, don't open the window. The bed has a basic spring mattress that made my back hurt every morning - and I'm not even 30 years old.
- Quintin (7/5): Cheap and cheerful accommodation, may well book it for a third time soon. - Location is great, directly opposite Gloucester Park and only a few minutes walk into the city centre or to Gloucester Historic Quays. Designated parking is a big bonus. Silly thing but there was only enough loo roll left in the bathroom for the first night, so we had to go shopping for more in the morning. Probably just an oversight as we've stayed in the same building before and there was plenty. My wife didn't rate the bed. Too springy for her apparently.

- Claire (1/5): Dreadful! - Would not recommend this property. The photos are not the same as the apartment. They have taken a picture of a door that is not the same as the door on the property. The bed was not clean, the kitchen had no equipment in it. The paint work was chipped throughout. The door to the apartment didn’t have a security chain on it and the front door was open when I arrived. The windows didn’t open and it was during a hot spell of weather. I left the property and re booked a different place.
- Ferreira (10/5): -
- Diana (10/5): excellent accommodation - a very nice place, excellent location
- Hilary (5/5): A compact apartment with limited equipment. Its near the city centre and there's free parking. - Entry by key code which was emailed the day before arrival. The code accessed both the front door and the apartment door. The apartment was very clean and quiet as located at the back of the house. Fridge needs defrosting, as ice box was too full of ice for any food. Only one chair to sit at dining room table. Only one wine glass no other drinking glasses provided. No vegetable knives provided. No lock or catch on toilet door therefore could not be held shut when using the toilet. No tea towel but we knew that from previous feedback.
- Rhianon (8/5): Very good - Ideal location. Easy to get too. Clean and tidy. No sugar tea or coffee. No washing up liquid
- Liz (8/5): Very good - Quiet location As it was small the TV was literally in your lap!
A few more household items would be good, cutlery/crockery but ok I guess
- William (4/5): Gloucester apartments - Quiet location. Easy walking to park, city centre, quays and docks The entrance hall smelled damp and musty. Toilet smelled of sewage. Wi fi did not work. No tea towels or washing up equipment. One drinking glass. Holes in curtains. Badly needs redecorating. The shower leaked all over the floor. No welcome kit it instructions for using equipment.
- Rob (1/5): Awful. We will never stay here again. Total waste of money, very disappointed. Should’ve read the reviews before hand. - Furniture was adequate Horrific water leak coming through the ceiling. Totally unacceptable, the building smells damp. It took too long to get through to duty managers, but we did manage to speak with them.
This property needs serious work, we left a day before as we couldn’t stay in this property because of the conditions.
- Lesley (8/5): Very good -
- Eccerebeccaappropinquat (6/5): Clean apartment in good location but with a few issues - The parking was convenient. It was close to town. The place was clean. The bed was comfortable. The WiFi (once code had been obtained) was strong.the heati
ng was good and the shower was excellent. So, there was no door between the bedroom and the sitting area which was annoying as one of us needed to stay up and one needed to get up early. there were sugar cubes but no tea or coffee which would have been very welcome. There was a lot of noise from the neighbouring house (shouting etc.) and at one point 4 police cars turned up. There was only one teaspoon. The WiFi password was not given. I had to message to ask for it. Also, and I appreciate this is not the hosts fault, but there was a cockeral in the nearby garden and it crowed every 30 seconds between 5am and 7am every morning. It was so loud. Woke us up every morning and impossible to get back to sleep.
- Cintia (4/5): Expensive for what is offered - - Clean and organized apartment
- Comfortable bed
- Working heating
- Well-equipped kitchen Honestly, it wasn't pleasant
- Expensive, I don't understand why the price is so high in a small, dead city without many tourist attractions.
- Check-in at 4pm, very late, practically at the end of the day. I had to wait all day for check-in on the street.
- They take a long time to respond to messages.
- 3rd floor with no elevator
- There was no closet to wardrobe, just a few hangers, I had to leave my clothes inside my suitcase.
- Internet is practically non-existent, it's unstable all the time.
- There's no washing machine
- There's no soundproofing, you can hear footsteps, conversations and everything from the neighbors.
- The curtains let in a lot of light.
- During my stay, the cleaning lady broke into the apartment, simply typed in the code and came in without knocking or asking for permission, saying she had come to bring a chair. Luckily I was inside the place, otherwise she would have come in and done something without me knowing.
- The location is bad, there are a lot of suspicious people in the neighborhood and it is in front of a park far from the city center, you have to cross the entire park and it takes about 25 minutes to walk to the center.
- It is not described in the ad, but there is a camera at the entrance which is always opened.
- Mark (7/5): Good - Comfortable bed. Small but pleasant furnishings and shower room. I don't understand the logic of providing a kitchen and cooking facility without including basic things to wash up and clean dishes with (tea towel, sponge, scourer). The entrance and common stairway could do with freshening up as a way of feeling more welcoming and secure.
- Peter (2/5): Would not stay again or recommend. - Nothing, terrible location dirty shabby looking property, smell of mildew in hallway. Very little
- Sam (8/5): Very good - No negatives for our stay! Comfortable beds, warm and cosy apartments! Everything that we needed! Check-in was as simple as could be! No negatives!
- Shand (8/5): Lovely accommodation - Location Everything was great
- Geanina (10/5): Exceptional - Everything
- Colin (8/5): Nice Location. - Convenient location, Appartment was clean & tidy. Lack of certain things, ie No Microwave, only one T Spoon, no T Towel. The security entrance door being left unlocked all the time & the fact that the street was dark & not well lit. This did improve once we contacted the property.
- Mark (7/5): Good -
- Nicola (1/5): Disappointing Experience – Overrated - Nothing Unfortunately, our stay fell far short of expectations. The apartment was not particularly clean, and the heating in the living area was not working, making the space uncomfortable. Additionally, there was a lack of essential amenities throughout—no wardrobe, clothes rack, or dresser in the bedroom, and no tea towel, kitchen paper, or hairdryer in the bathroom. The hallway also had a strong smell of cigarette smoke, which was quite off-putting. To top it off, the entrance door of the building didn’t close properly, which compromised both security and comfort. Ultimately, this place was overrated and did not meet the standards I had hoped for, so we ended up leaving a day earlier.
- Sadie (8/5): Great apartment for a short stay - The apartment was clean and warm with what seemed like brand new kitchen appliances. The shower was great, good free WiFi, big selection of things to watch on TV, comfortable bed. The street that the apartment was on seemed rough so I didn't leave after dark. The outside of the property could do with being cleaned up. Every time I left and came back the main door was left on the latch meaning anyone could just walk in. There was no microwave which I thought odd for a holiday apartment. When I first arrived the bathroom smelled of rotten eggs but it soon went away after using the taps, flush etc.
- Justyna (10/5): Exceptional - great flat, with free parking
- Bethan (8/5): Good location for easy walk into quays - easy access into the Quays short walk Tv did not work vey well kept loosing connection
- Quintin (7/5): Ideal for a bolt hole while visiting family or a short stay in the city. - Handy for the park for dog walking, close to city centre, good kitchen facilities.
- Lesley (10/5): Exceptional - Central
Clean
- Alison (6/5): Disappointing - It was clean Although located close to the town we did not feel safe walking around the street which was reinforced by family members who live in other parts of town.
- Shelley (9/5): Lovely apartment, very central. Easy to get an Uber to and from venues we were visiting. - Clean & comfortable.
Parking.
Quiet street in a central location.
- Lillian (7/5): Overall my stay was enjoyable - Location was excellent
Room equiped with a toaster, small ironing board,
but could do with microwave as well
Parking faciility excellent
- Natalie (4/5): Very very basic - Apartment was very central to the Quays and Cathedral The WiFi was non existent, which then meant you couldn't watch TV as the signal wasn't strong enough. The toilet seat wasn't secured properly so when you sat down you slipped around. There was no cleaning products, so no scourer to wash cutlery or tea towel to dry up. The view out to the garden would be lovely if the garden was maintained. The hallway stank of cigarettes and a number of cooked foods. When you exited the building the individuals smoking outside on the doorstep is what hits you every time. There were no knives to chop food if you wanted to cook.
- Edward (7/5): The stay was pleasant enough, though I needed to use my 4G for the internet. - The location was fantastic. The apartment was clean. Chcekomg in and out was easy. The big gripe is the internet did not work/ I got the correct password, got an IP address, but no route to the internet. this was important to me so a star has been lost because of that. Also in the kitchen there was no knife, chopping board and some other things. A hairdryer would have been nice.
- Sheila (8/5): Good, clean, modern apartment in a great location near everything you needed. - Great location near the docks, city centre and Gloucester Park. The Quays and dock area provided plenty of variety for places to eat and drink as well as shop!
The apartment was modern and furnished well, with good comfy bed and big towels. Basic dishes, utensils etc were very new and what was needed. At first sight the outside looked a bit dirty and untidy with rubbish around the porch and cobwebs but the inside turned out to be clean and tidy. Needed a couple of hooks for clothes and hand towel in bathroom and there was nowhere to put toiletries. The kitchen needed a cutting board and it would have helped to have an indication to bring your own condiments and tea towel.
- Jayne (10/5): Clean, relaxing and well situated - Good location to Gloucester Park for dog walking, parking excellent, 10/15 min walk to Gloucester Docks No microwave, there was a box for a hairdryer but unfortunately it was empty
- Norbert (7/5): Good -
- Gillian (8/5): Nice location - Nice location near the quays. Plenty of parking Could have had more cooking equipment like a sharp knife
- Phil (8/5): Very enjoyable. Suited our needs very well. - WiFi was poor.
Hob rings could be cleaned of crusty edges
- Bush (7/5): Good clean apartment in good location. - Next to Gloucester park. Very clean.
10min walk to docks through park. Would benefit from a microwave
- Bush (7/5): Nice place, would have suited us better with microwave. - Apartment and location good, being next to Gloucester Park is a bonus especially with a dog Microwave would be a benefit, not everyone likes to cook a full meal or eat out.
- Cheryl (5/5): Great location, disappointing facilities and no communication from management. - Very clean. Good bed. Great location. No WiFi and no reply to any of our messages about it. Prevented me doing some work that I needed to do while I was there and we were unable to watch TV or listen to music. We appreciate that some things are beyond control and WiFi is something of a luxury but good communication isn’t. It was inconvenient and spoiled our stay.
Also, the kitchen was ill equipped- no cafetière, no knife, no chopping board, no tea towel or oven gloves. An empty hair dryer box!
- Darren (8/5): Very good -
- Kevin (10/5): Home away from home. - Very clean, modern, easy check in and out, pet friendly 👍🏼 There was nothing we didn’t like
- Kate (4/5): It was ok, wouldn’t go back - Spotlessly clean
Great location
Peaceful road
Nicely decorated It was so cold in the living area, heating didn’t work until the middle of the last night. Had to go out of the accommodation because it was unbearable
It was cleverly planned out but cramped, would bring own towels and pillows plus a spare blanket. No tea towels or hair dryer either
- Kevin (7/5): Good - Location Need more kitchen utensils knives oven ,biking trays
