Guest Reviews
- John (9/5): Great self catering option out of the hustle and bustle of town - Bathroom and shower recently redone and amazing. Wifi was terrible
- Craig (10/5): Stunning accommodation in fabulous location - Location was fantastic, room/Lodge was gorgeous. Beautiful to see warthog and baboons around the grounds - and elephant a couple hundred yards away one early morning! Show was excellent and bar at main hotel was fantastic. Staff so welcoming and helpful. Nothing at all, it was perfect for us.
- ANDREW (9/5): -
- Callum (10/5): Our stay was fantastic! - It’s location was excellent. The property is stunning, with bushbuck and warthog grazing on the grass. You have access to safari lodge dinning facilities and the view of the water hole. Also have use of the free shuttle bus that runs through out the day to Victoria falls town. Staff so friendly and helpful! One thing to keep in mind at Lokuthula is you are located very close to the Boma dinner and drum show. This can be quite loud and runs from about 7pm - 10pm
- Linda-lee (8/5): - Location, cleanliness, comfortable Power tripped every time we used the shower.
- Shawn (8/5): - unique setting in the tree tops with the birdlife Looking a little tired
- Otto (9/5): Perfect place to stay in Victoria Falls - Everything! What a truly wonderful place to stay! Vulture feeding at 1pm; beautiful views; comfy accommodation; great facilities! Nothing!
- Becky (9/5): A warm welcome and comfortable stay! - We were greeted with a very warm welcome and that set the tone for our stay. The lodges are well equipped and comfortable. We didn’t make use of the pool at the lodges but instead use the wonderful facilities at the Safari Lodge. The bar overlooking the water hole was magnificent and we enjoyed a day by the pool there watching the wildlife. We use the shuttle bus into town a couple of times, it is only two hour late but with careful Planning was sufficient for our needs. It was not a problem for us, but you are right opposite the BOMA dinner and drum show. It finishes around 9:30 pm.
- Isabelle (10/5): - It is stunning. So many animals to see and the boma is right on your doorstep.
- Vanessa (7/5): Very happy stay just wish it was easier to open tents and get light in. Felt a bit like was in jail - Great location Tents/ cottage could be more open and light.
- Kartral (9/5): - Great location and overall vibe was good!
- Tsania (10/5): Excellent - Amazing property. Felt very authentic to the surroundings. We felt safe and comfortable. The location was great and nearby to everything. The staff were excellent and always willing to help with huge smiles. Absolutely enjoyed our stay and hope to come back again in the near future Nothing. Loved everything
- Ethel (4/5): -
- Salomina (10/5): -
- Gugulethu (8/5): - Impatience of the cleaners. Just after 9am they were already knocking wanting to clean and wanting us to check out
- H (7/5): - Very friendly and facilitative staff, proximity to lovely pool at Boma, kitchen very well-equipped (including salt & pepper, teabags and coffee), impeccably clean (and cleaned daily during our stay), great free shuttle to town/the falls, lovely facilities at the main Safari Lodge, relaxing and peaceful environment with warthogs, guinea fowl and bushbuck wandering around the cottages! A little dark inside the property, lack of ventilation in the bathroom, living space is quite 'snug' and might feel too small for some groups. The Boma drumming (from close by) goes on until around 9:15pm and is very loud ! It didn't bother us too much but for noise-sensitive people or those who like a very quiet, peaceful evening listening to the sounds of the night, this is definitely something to consider.
- Dawn (9/5): -
- Leslie (9/5): CVs - We liked having a kitchen and being in the quiet outskirts of town. We were near the activities that we valued most, like the Boma dinner show, the vulture feeding and watching the waterhole from the bar of the neighboring g hotel. We found downtown Vic Dalls to be exhausted with it hotel weather and constant hustling. the broken sake and the skeleton-key front door that too 5 minutes to open.
- Sean (10/5): -
- Tim (8/5): A nice bush hotel far away from town - Very nice shack.
Amazing, friendly staff.
Always had power and hot water. Very dark inside, even with all the lights on.
Bathroom drain can't handle more than a 2 min shower or the water flows back into the room.
45 minute walk into town, ok.... But they don't let you out, you have to get a taxi, as there are sold animals around.
Close to the drum show, too bad if you want to sleep!
There's a pool advertised in the picture, but you can't use it, it's a part of another hotel... This one was a bit annoying since they advertise it
- Paul (9/5): Prima prijs kwaliteit verhouding - Mooi gerenoveerde badkamer. Goed zwembad en restaurant met mooie uitkijk. De keuken was verouderd en rook vochtig
- Diane (10/5): Great Family Lodges - We loved our stay in the lodges. Three of the two bedroom lodges were perfect for our extended family of 10. They are rustic, spacious, well equipped and cleaned daily. It's lovely to sit out and watch some of the smaller animals walk by. Most evenings we dined in the buffalo bar with gorgeous views over the watering hole. The shuttle service into town is very handy. Our favourite evening was spent at the Boma restaurant which is on site, the kids loved joining in on the drums! All in all a brilliant stay.
- Phodiso (10/5): -
- Jan (8/5): It was definitely value for money and the staff friendliness and helpfulness a highlight - thank you. My second stay - - In nature - watching the animals walking around - and close to the falls N/A
- Yolandi (10/5): Wonderful stay in nature - Staff are super friendly and helpful. The grounds are beautiful and right in nature. Self catering lodge a bit on the rustic side, but good value for money. We enjoyed being able to make a fire and braai, whilst sitting on the veranda watching antelope and warthogs roaming past. We loved everything about our stay and cannot wait to be back! Nothing
- Letoya (9/5): -
- Juan (9/5): -
- Deon (9/5): - Good location and facilities, friendly staff. The stairs to the rooms upstairs are very steep and dangerous, especially for children and older people.
- Helena (10/5): Krásné ubytování v přírodě - Velice příjemný personál. Vše co jsme potřebovali dokázali zařídit. Krásné prostředí.
- juniorgdansk (10/5): - Wspaniałe miejsce do relaksu połączone z naturą. Domki komfortowe i czyste.
- Simbi (9/5): We’d a great stay, we were a team of 4 friends from England. This accommodation was perfect and central to everything we - Great location!
Close to BOMA Clean
- Manuel (9/5): -
- Mawoneyi (8/5): -
- Sonja (8/5): Worth the money - it was a very pleasant stay - The team was amazing, very friendly & the animals made you feel like you’re in the middle of an safari. The pool is unfortunately not as clean as I would expect it to be and completely in the shadow in front of a restaurant/cafe.
- Kate (3/5): Booked for three nights, left after two - The communal area at the Boma was good where the pool was. Very grubby and foisty on arrival, floor was filthy, sofas were damp and clearly had been for a long time. There was a snake in our bath towels (left on the floor on arrival.)
The cot was so cracked and filthy that we just put our baby on the mattress on the floor surrounded by suitcases.
No table to sit inside, major mosquito problem outside so ended up eating on the (damp) sofas inside.
The kitchen we had no sharp knife, no chopping board, no laundry facilities (website says coin laundromat but this doesn’t exist)
- Tanya (10/5): My best I love it. - I always stay at lokathula it is my favorite place in the Falls I am very upset that none of the lodges have baths anymore.
- Frederike (10/5): Wonderful, colourful, unique place to stay. Will defs visit again! -
- Abigail (8/5): Such a great location and stay, great value for money - Lots of space, clean and presentable and very helpful staff. Could use the restaurant and bar in the main hotel with amazing views! Mosquito nets had a few small holes
- Heather (6/5): Good location away from town - will be great to see again once Villas have been updated. - The location away from town centre was lovely. Free shuttle bus is a bonus. Lovely staff. Villas are a little dated and are currently being updated. Mosquitos are a problem at the moment - Sep 2025.
- Ida (9/5): Szuper! - A szállás egy nemzeti park területén fekszik, az állatok szabadon mozognak ott, varacskos disznók, madarak, zebrák, stb.
Éttermek, kilátó helyek, madár megfigyelő, fürdő, masszázs, dobosok műsorával kísért vacsora, kisbusz a városba való bejutáshoz. Minden jól megszervezve. Nem volt olyan, ami nem tetszett.
- tammy (5/5): Great location and facilities - Environment was great, wake up and see animals. Great location. Facilities were great. The bathrooms need upgrading as they are old. Clean facilities for example after bathing or showering should be have been provided.
Far away from shops. The nets need deep cleaning as well as rooms. My son and I got severely bitten not sure if it’s mosquitoes or something thing else and the affected the whole trip.
- Anke (5/5): Ok - Nature surroundings with bush buck.
Quiet and tranquil. Very outdated, needs some renovation. Rooms are quite dark and gloomy.
Room upstairs needs an aircon.
- Jennifer (7/5): -
- Phoebe (8/5): - The pool / restaurant overlooking the watering hole is fantastic! Lovely staff too.
- Wendy (10/5): -
- Scott (8/5): Bit expensive and no nice details but neat place - Have pickleball, pool, shuttle to town No shampoo or conditioner or breakfast included
- Manuel-Morgan (9/5): - The animals in the area, being shaded under the trees. Parking spaces are ridiculously small. #20 in particular, it is very difficult to reverse park or reverse out of the bay without doing multiple manoeuvres. Trees behind the bay need to be removed.
- Safran (8/5): - The lodge was great, had everything we needed and was close to one of the entrance gates to Kruger
- Adele (9/5): Family reunion - The accommodation was flexible and spacious. Suitable for our group.
- Marco (9/5): -
- Hoko (9/5): -

- tseleng (10/5): Lokuthula Lodge was an amazing place to stay, and we were extremely well looked after. - I
- Sandy (5/5): -
- Katharina (8/5): -
- Breeda (7/5): Dappointed - The staff were so pleasant and friendly. The wild animals roaming around the grounds. The hotel nearby had good facilities available to us. The grounds were very poorly lit at night time. We were in the furthest away lodge, so walking back at night time felt unsafe. We could hear the drums from the Boma shows way too clearly. The chalet itself did not live up to the description advertised.
- Paula (10/5): -
- Guy (2/5): Overpriced and shabby - The staff and proximity of Victoria Falls hotel I can’t quite understand how people can give high ratings to this resort. The photos on the website are very misleading, hard to understand how they managed to get a picture of the swimming pool like that. The value for money is totally subpar (yes, we know that everything in Victoria Falls is overpriced but still..), the lodges are dark, need serious refurbishment, the bathroom barely acceptable and the kitchen smelly. Full of mosquitoes (!!) and the mosquitoes net was far from being in perfect condition. And maybe what is most outrageous is that no drinkable water is provided — make sure you go the the restaurant and buy a few bottles, even if you arrive late at night.
- Svetlana (8/5): In general we had a positive experience. But I guess one night is enough so we were happy to leave. - The hotel was fine. The room was spacious, the beds were comfortable, the staff was friendly and they assisted us in booking the tour around waterfall. The pool was not really fresh and we did not go for a swim. The restaurant with the drum show was fully booked so we could not enjoy it though we thought that the hotel guests would have the priority for booking a place.
- Alec (10/5): Such a magical and special place if you love being in nature & the chance to see wildlife roam free - Loved loved this special place and the amazing staff who take such great care of the grounds! It was a remarkable and magical experience seeing local wildlife roam freely on the grounds. Just incredible! Hearing the drum show nightly became part of the ritual in our lodge at bedtime. Fortunately it doesn’t go later than 9:30-9:45 and does sound like tremendous fun! We simply got used to expecting this to occur however the rest of the time the surrounds are extremely serene and peaceful.

- Ben Brooks (8/5): -
- Seungho (8/5): -
- Caroline (10/5): -
- Karen (8/5): Good - The room was nice, beds comfortable. Across from the boma👍 Room upstairs was hot, needs air conditioning. Lots of Mosquito's
- Fiona (7/5): - Location next to Boma was great! It was a little dark inside the cottage as the back porch is a canvas not glass so it doesn’t let much light in.
- Shiyas (9/5): - Wonderful place. Nice cottage.
- Niven (7/5): - Amazing stuff!
- Steven (10/5): -
- Sheik (10/5): -
- Sophie Kristen (9/5): -
- Julie (10/5): 3 enchanted days - The bungalow hut was super clean, comfortable, spacious and nicely decorated. The kitchen was convenient and resort staff were efficient and charming. The daily visits from warthogs, bush deer, mongoose, monkeys, etc.
were fabulous. Flying insects...but to be expected and repellents were in the rooms, bars, etc.
- Matthew (8/5): - Helpful staff.
Food in restaurants good.
Spacious rooms. Pool at lokuthula shaded and not allowed to use pool at victoria safari lodge which in sun.
- Andrew (10/5): Great place to stay in Vic Falls - The accommodation was comfortable, but also rustic. The fact that animals roamed freely through the ground was great. The service was exceptional, especially when I realized something had been left behind and the staff facilitated having it mailed to me. Overall, an amazing experience. Nothing
- Chris (8/5): -
- Thomas (9/5): -
- Nathalie (8/5): - Le personnel
- Jodie (6/5): -
- Konner (8/5): Great value stay next to the Boma and near the falls. - A great value right next to the Boma and the actual hotel and amenities, this worked wonderfully for our party of 5. The rooms were generally clean and the grounds - shared with the Boma and hotel, were wonderful. The room itself was a little dated, and with the rear wall essentially being a canvas tent flap there were a lot of bugs and mosquitos. Fortunately nets were provided for the beds.
- Leuk huisje. Veel ruimte. Mooie tuin. Dicht bij mooie lodge en Boma restaurant. Voeren van de gieren. Hertjes lopen in je tuin. Fijne keuken en lekkere douche. In wildpark. Airco kan beter. Muggen.
- LJ (3/5): Not worth the money. Again bad experience with mosquitoes. I would not go back to property. - We just wanted to see Victoria falls. The bomb show was fun. The unit was infested with mosquitoes. There was no spray in the room. Myself and family got a lot of mosquitos bites. The communications is very difficult phone did not work. The sister property the safari lodge you were kind of treated like a second class citizen compared to the Lokuthula lodge. I had to buy a can of spray from the safari lodge and they charged me $15. They said it would be free if I stayed there. We needed laundry done they charged top dollar like I was staying at a 5 star hotel. Not a reasonable price.I think may be better if you have a vehicle very isolated. I would not stay there again. Overall the whole stay at Vic Falls you kind of feel like all anyone cares about is $
