Guest Reviews

- Claire (8/5): Lovely garden and cosy barn which was perfect for a few days away as a couple. - Lovely cosy property, great for a couple like ourselves. Well equipped kitchen and nice comfy double bed! We made use of the wood burner which was great for the evenings, and the reclining sofa was also an added bonus! Lovely garden which we weren’t able to get much use out of due to the weather but would be great in the summer and it was perfect and enclosed for our dog. It was a little smaller than I was expecting, with the extra bedroom on a mezzanine level and the kitchen/lounge area below. However it was cosy and enjoyable for our short stay.
- Chantelle (10/5): Exceptional - We had a wonderful stay in the Stable, which was not only spacious but also thoughtfully equipped with games and all the little essentials we needed, like a full set of utensils and a slow cooker. It made our beach days even more enjoyable knowing dinner was cooked for when we arrived back. The surroundings were so peaceful, and the beautiful peacocks on the owner's property brought such joy to my children each morning. The location is ideal, nestled perfectly between Newquay and St Austell, allowing us to choose between stunning beaches and charming fishing villages for our outings. Lisa, the host, was incredibly warm and welcoming. I truly can’t recommend this lovely property enough; it’s dog-friendly, family-friendly, and beautifully decorated. We felt right at home!
Thanks again for our stay.
- Meg (8/5): great cottage for a short break exploring Cornwall - Great location for exploring local attractions and further afield. Great accommodation, good double bedroom with ensuite shower room, upstairs galleried room suitable for two children adults plus a travel cot available. sharing ensuite only slight issue.
Garden great, plenty of space, child and pet friendly.
Definitely recommend.
- Johnbudding (6/5): A lovely cottage in a nice location, suitable for solo travellers and couples in my opinion. - A well-considered layout, thoughtfully renovated. Nice gifts of local cider and scones on arrival were lovely. The host seemed very friendly and helpful. A lovely outdoor area with beautiful views and some bonus animals!
I think the property would be most suitable to a solo traveller or couple due to the open plan layout with the mezzanine (as mentioned below), and I would stay here again on that basis. The stairs to the mezzanine seemed very steep with a narrow width between each rung. I would be cautious if you have little ones with you as they require some care when ascending/descending the stairs to the beds on the mezzanine.
We didn't consider this when booking, but the mezzanine layout over the open-plan living/dining areas meant it was difficult to have child-free time when they'd gone to bed.
The beds were quite squeaky both downstairs and upstairs.
Whilst tidy, I think the property could benefit from a deep clean as some areas were dusty, and some of the crockery had stains from previous users and required a re-wash.
- Christine (10/5): Peaceful location, well equipped, comfortable, clean accommodation. Would highly recommend. - Beautiful open views and garden, very pleasing layout and hosts had thought of everything. Tasteful touches, great complimentary items such as cream tea and ciders. 😄 Lovely property, no complaints.
- Jessica (8/5): Amaizing views - Lovely property everything you could need or want very well thought out. The log burner was beautiful on an evening. The kitchen was very well stocked. Wouldn’t say disliked but the birds were very noisy during the night for my very light sleeper partner he found this difficult. Although lovely to see them around and wouldn’t stop us returning.
- Heather (9/5): Fantastic little place with great views dog friendly we all loved it thank you - Great location, amazing views, nice cosy cottage. dogs loved it too plenty to do in the area shops not far and nice to sit and chill in the evening. That we didn’t book for longer
- Brendan (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful property, peacocks roam freely and the view is amazing. Tucked away in the countryside yet not far from town. Will definitely stay here again next time!
- Loretta (9/5): Great place and a very enjoyable able stay - Very clean and well set up it had everything we needed. Very good communication from owner and some lovely special touches Signage a bit hard would be good if cottage sign on the road and there is no road sign. Owner did send good instructions before we had to locate 😀
- Angela (10/5): A truly wonderful stay, totally relaxing and will definitely stay again. - The owners left us a lively gift of a cream tea and cider which made us feel very welcome. The setting was beautiful and peaceful and the Peacocks added a unique surpise Nothing, it was great
- Doug (9/5): Superb -
- Samantha (10/5): Amazing and we can't wait to come back when its less rainy. -
- Louise (7/5): Lovely location, well-equipped pretty barn, ensure the sleeping arrangements suit your circumstances - the location was lovely, and the garden delightful. The look of the place and the overall furnishings was good (except for the kids beds). it was well equipped, and the wifi and TV services fantastic and easy to use. The shower was lovely and powerful and the barn heated up a treat (actually it got too hot upstairs). the Barn is actually a one bedroom property with a mezzanine platform where the two additional twin beds are. this was problematic for our family as it was impossible to put the smaller children to bed on time as they could hear everything from the living area so they couldn't settle. the twin beds themselves are also more 'cots' with old fashioned springs which aren't very comfortable to sleep on.
- Neil (10/5): Branwell does well. - Bedrooms are spacious and set around the main lounge, kitchen diner. A very well equipped kitchen, warm and comfortable bedrooms. Plenty hot water for showering. Quality and clean cooking facilities. Our stay was only a short one however, if it were longer, a washing machine would have been a great asset. We only had one teatowel, a couple more and perhaps an oven glove. (These are not points that "we didn't like", but more a suggestion of what would be beneficial to a guests stay.
- Linda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Katie (10/5): Amazing and better than expectations, would definitely return! - Amazing property, exceeding expectations and better than the wonderful photos!
Spectacular facilities and locations, very idyllic and beautifully remote.
Resident peacocks were a surprise and lovely to watch.
- Natalie (8/5): It was great in general and would recommend - The location was fantastic!
The cottage was very lovely The top floor beds were uncomfortable and squeaky
- Rachael (10/5): Perfect spot to make the most of the peace and quiet and fantastic scenery. - Fantastic property with an equally fantastic view. We loved the layout and the finish/ fittings were all high quality. Very secure garden for our dog. Great outdoor space, we want to go back in the summer to make the most of it. Also excellent for star gazing.
- Jan (10/5): Hosts and property could'nt be faulted. Thank-you - N/A N/A
- Tom (8/5): Very good - The place was absolutely stunning, a little off grid so Satnavs don't always find it but the host was more than helpful. Very quiet location with a big fenced off garden and patio, even has a BBQ and swing set. Inside was gorgeous, absolutely HUGE, something straight out of a magazine! Kitchen was something you'd dream of (oven took a few minutes to understand being so fancy!) Bedrooms are great size and master bedroom has an ensuite and big closet. The place is pup friendly and even came with treats to spoil the pooches!
Overall, unbelievable and my new favourite place in Cornwall. 100000% will stay there every time I'm down! Only downside was the drive, the entrance is narrow, overall was bumpy which was fine but has a huge sharp bump half way up it which low cars like ours didn't like it. The bump did some damage to the undertray of one of the cars.
If you stay there, which you should, take a jeep
- Anthony (10/5): We had a fantastic stay and both the accommodation and hosts were amazing - Everything about the accommodation was excellent.
