Guest Reviews

- Lucia (8/5): - Muy tranquilo
- Joe (1/5): An uncomfortable ripoff! - Location Extremely small single bed in a 3x2 small sardine can with no AC. Just a noisy fan. Staff kept sending me messages to confirm they will charge me €40 if i show up after 11pm and 15 if i show up after 20:00. The room shown in the picture is bigger than the one they’ll put you in. The apartment is shared with so many people. The mattress and the single pillow are extremely hard which made it too hard to sleep! I hardly slept for 3 hours! A total ripoff for your money!!!
Highly unrecommended!!!

- Philippe Quartz (9/5): - Location was great. Close to the metro, and in a nice area. It was quiet in my room too - I couldn't hear the neighbors from inside my room, even if I could hear them talking loudly when I was in the hallway. Kitchen is nicely equipped, and underused by most guests. The place is clean as well. The single bunk-bed room is small but has a lot of closet space. Good wifi too. Two bathrooms/showers for four guest rooms, so you won't have to wait for the bathroom. I stayed in July and it did get very hot in the room. Not unbearably hot though, and with the fan it isn't too bad. If the staff do a lot of laundry in the apartment it can get very humid inside, though, but that doesn't happen every day.
- Mihaela (8/5): Very good -
- Viktoryia (10/5): Very nice workers, quiet room, good location, small but very affordable. You have anything you might need in the kitchen - Amazing location near the metro station Cleanliness could’ve been better but considering the price it’s okay
- Bruno (10/5): Exceptional -
- Zhubi (7/5): Good -
- Judy (8/5): Very good -
- Othmani (8/5): Very good -
- Dillon (5/5): Passable - Good location to bus/train station, metro and grocery stores. Thankful to have a fan and plugs. Clean and good showers. Many messages regarding arrival and stay. Declined early check-in then pressured to check-in at the exact opening of check-in time not agreed to.
- Milana (10/5): Exceptional - Location and ease of check-in and out
- Bryan (7/5): Good -
- Taiwo (8/5): Very good -
- Shaheen (4/5): Expensive and not a good deal! - The location of building is good enough close to Embassy and good for shopping. Quite place, and clean apartment. The allotted room for stay is not the same what it is shown in picture (seems to be like scam), it was a small room containing single bed one - above like a hotel, not comfortable to sleep, the price of room was high 55 euros/ night for single person, it show be around 20-25 euros similar to hostel price, and everything is chargeable if you are check-in after 20:00-23:00h extra charge of 15 euros in cash will be charged, after 23:00h 40euros for check-in will be charged, using washing machine is 5 euros , laundry, etc are chargeable. plus if you your leave checking out it will be charge accordingly 8 euros... So overall, it is an expensive deal if you planning to stay and use the property. I would suggest better to choose hostel instead of this room.
- Graham (7/5): Good -
- Kateryna (5/5): Passable - location very convenient for my purposes single room extremely small, very uncomfortable. The biggest problem is the noise - they really should give all guests earplugs. You can hear every whisper in the apartment, the sound of water running in the toilet or shower right behind the wall is really loud, and the doors are all horrible - they bang every time, and I guess some of them are designed in a way that you have to bang them to be closed. Therefore, when other people returned after midnight, they have woken me up several times when banging all the doors... No difference compared to a regular hostel, therefore very overpriced.
- Zouhir (7/5): A nice shared place in a quiet area of Salamanca - We never got to meet the owner, just the cleaning lady. She was very nice and forthcoming and let us check in early as we arrived early in Madrid. The bedroom was the largest in the apartment (there are 3 smaller ones, one with a bunk bed) and therefore also the loveliest. It was impeccably clean and beautifully decorated. The shared two bathrooms also were very clean and had warm/cold water with strong pressure, furniture and towels of good quality. Shower gel was provided. The shared kitchen is tiny, but spotlessly clean when we arrived. The system of sharing the fridge very clear and efficient to avoid confusions with the other three guest parties. To keep privacy, the rooms are locked with a code and wifi is available throughout the flat. I cannot judge the reception for the rest of the guests, but it was excellent for us as the modem was in our room. In the neighbourhood there is an Aldi and some smaller supermarkets in 2-3 minutes' walking distance and cafés and bakery just around the corner. The closest metro station Léon de Diego is 2 minutes from the apartment. Getting to the centre, eg the Opera from there will take you about 20 minutes with the metro 5. On booking the apartment we were not aware that we would be sharing bathroom and kitchen. Maybe we did not read well enough. We were apprehensive about this as we have had bad experiences especially with careless guests who do not bother to leave the shared rooms in order. This happened in the kitchen on the second day and also the bathroom was not always left clean, which made it uncomfortable. The room is in a simple flat, so you hear through the walls very well. For a family living together this is of no consequence, but when sharing the flat with strangers, it can be disturbing and give an uneasy feeling. The large bed has a very soft mattress that has a hollow in the middle. To share the bed means you end up in the middle all the time... The sofa bed was harder and more comfortable.
Although the metro station is very close by, you must be aware that it is like three stations in one, so depending on which metro you are taking, you will need to plan a 5-7 minute walk in the metro tunnels before you can actually get on the train. Finally, we experienced the place as being very costly for what we received, actually just a room in a self-catering place.
- Mohamed (10/5): Exceptional - The room was nice and staff there are amazing

- Tsafrir (9/5): Superb - Good location, spacious room, clean.
- Bhardwaj (10/5): Good staff and good location - good customer service and location nil
- Haiyan (8/5): Very good - This room was one of the whole house with three other rooms instead of with only one room. Other three rooms were also used by different customers. This means at least 4 groups of different people will share the facilty, mainly the bath room. And different groups have different time schedule so you can expect shower sounds at 1:00AM during midnight. The room which we took is big and clean.
- Mohmedimran (9/5): It was pleasant. Wish to have more property in different places in Spain - Location- interior -clean Need maintenance in shower for water blockage .
- Nomaan (9/5): Superb - The staff were very kind and easy to communicate with even though we didn't speak the same language.
Also the location had great access to bus and train lines. No issues, I knew what I was paying for and the accommodation met my expectations
- Ogechukwu (8/5): Very good -
- Anton (6/5): Pleasant -
- Iurii (5/5): Passable - I had the room with 5 sq. m) No air conditioning, extremely small room.
- Dias (9/5): Superb -
- Emma (3/5): Noisy neighbours. No sleep. - Easy 15 mins walk to WiZink centre. Deluxe double is a joke. This is a small, dated apartment on the second floor with 4 rooms sharing 2 bathrooms. You could hear everything and some of the other residents were noisy until 12.30am with no respect of the quiet time and then we could hear the TV and people above until after 2am. As the owners aren’t there, there is no-one to address the noise issues. The bed was absolutely tiny and we hardly slept at all. Thankfully we were only there for one night.
- Edilioilre (9/5): Good price/quality - Super clean, bed very comfortable, spaces and kitchen very organized Unfortunately lots of noise all the night.
- Smolich (9/5): When I'm in Madrid, I'll be back! - The description matched the property 100%. Clean, well managed apartment. Salamanca is a great part of the city to use as a base. Diego de Leon Metro is close by, and the #200 bus direct to the airport is a 10 minute walk… Much simpler than metro. Nothing

- Muhammad (9/5): Superb - Excellent location, good sized room, very nice and clean, and very friendly staff. Overall, great value for money. Mattress could have been better.
- Jose (10/5): Best Kept Secret in Madrid - Everything was great. Clean, key handover, room tidy, internet super fast, kitchen facilities, bathroom, price. The apartment is in the city centre. You can reach by bus from the airport. no need of taxi at all. Everything is available walking distance, groceries, cafes, etc. Congrats to Rooms Maldonado team. Would have been good to have a Larger mug to drink my morning coffee.
- Pierrick (8/5): Very good -
- Billy (7/5): If I ever need somewhere to stay in Barrio Salamanca, I will pick here. - I've stayed here before though last time it was in room 1, this time I was in room 4.
The hosts are always very friendly, it's quick and simple and they contact you on the day to confirm timings of your arrival to exchange keys, talk to you a little about the apartment and show you what's what then they leave you to it.
The beds are comfortable, the pillows are memory foam, the showers are decent too. There is no control to turn the heating off in the bedroom, the bedroom got far too hot during the night I ended up waking up sweating which was not very comfortable and that's even with the windows open in mid January.
Room 4 is loud, you hear everything in the kitchen, the bathrooms, the other bedrooms... Usually I wouldn't mind it but this time there were a couple of extremely inconsiderate guests slamming doors, slamming toilet seats, shouting and playing music in the middle of the night past 1AM.
- Mehari (8/5): Very good -
- Mariana (9/5): Superb -
- Adela (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jo (6/5): Good - Simple and cozy room I have to wait outside for the keys.
- Zhenxiang (7/5): Good - Clean place Too small
- José (7/5): Good -
- Billy (9/5): Clean, comfortable, friendly host, I'd definitely stay here again. - The host was very friendly, explained things well to me and showed me around the apartment.
I was very pleased with the cleanliness of the apartment overall, the beds were clean and extremely comfortable with memory foam pillows, fresh linen and towels. Fully equipped kitchen with everything you could need, toaster, kettle, panini press, cafetière, pans, mugs, glasses, bowls, plates etc you get the idea. The fan in the bedroom could do with upgrading it's a bit rickety and sharp if you catch your toe on it.
Shower drainage is very slow.
An air fryer or something similar in the kitchen would be ideal as there's no oven.
- Yushuang (6/5): good to recommend - room is clean no AC
- Rachel (8/5): Very good -
- Jonas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jack (8/5): Great - Perfect location, right next to Diego de León metro.
Plenty of space available for storing clothes.
Two towels given upon arrival.
The place is nice and clean. No air conditioning, but it does have a fan. However the room didn't get hot enough for the fan to be used.
- Karim (1/5): Bad -
- Amanda (6/5): Pleasant -
- Hugh (7/5): Good - The place is a great location to explore the heart of Madrid. It is very clean and the kitchen has a good assortment of cooking utensils. The bed needs stoppers for the coasters. There were times I thought I was trying out for the Jamaica bobsleigh team.
