Everything on the property and in our room was spotless. The room was very small (it was a loft but we didn’t use the second story at all). No elevator - use the beautiful marble stairs!

- Christen (8/5): Wirklich hübsches Hotel mit wenigen "aber"s. - Sehr schöne Anlage. Wir hatten das "Pool-Haus" und es hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Etwas außerhalb des Zentrums von Civitavecchia gelegen. 30 Minuten zu Fuß vom Bahnhof. Das Hotelpersonal kann einen Shuttle-Service beauftragen. In der Nähe gibt es Restaurants und Supermärkte. Am Meer ist man auch in wenigen Minuten, nur Sandstrände gibt es weit und breit keine. Der Pool war sehr sauber, wurde jeden Morgen maschinell gereinigt. Abends kamen Fledermäuse, um aus dem Pool zu trinken, das war sehr niedlich zu beobachten. Das Zimmer und das Bad waren sehr groß und hübsch eingerichtet, mit schönen alten Möbelstücken und ein bisschen Deko. Klimaanlage sehr gut steuerbar. Wir hatten ein Körbchen mit Snacks und Cerealien fürs Frühstück auf dem Zimmer, außerdem Saft und Wasser im Kühlschrank. Die Bahnstrecke hinter dem Haus ist wenig befahren und störte uns gar nicht. Der Grill darf ZUM GLÜCK nicht benutzt werden. Das hätte uns sehr gestört, da er sich nur wenige Meter vor unserem Zimmer befand. Insgesamt hat uns der Aufenthalt gut gefallen, kann ich empfehlen. Das Haus ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen, stellenweise lösen sich Putz oder Farbe von den Wänden. Unter dem Türrahmen zum Bad befand sich ein Insekten-Nest, da krabbelte es gehörig, und unten fielen Krümelchen heraus. Der Kühlschrank war ziemlich laut, was nachts ein bisschen nervte. Die Mitarbeiterin an der Rezeption war sehr nett, sprach aber kaum Englisch. (Was ich für einen Job in der Hotellerie schon sehr schwierig finde.) Die Zufahrt wird nachts mit einem schweren Eisentor verschlossen. Dieses hat zwar eine Tür, die sich jedoch nicht öffnen ließ. Das Tor blinkte zwar, fuhr aber nicht auf. Man musste es also ernsthaft händisch aufschieben, was sehr schwer war. (Und warum verschließt man das Tor überhaupt, wenn es ja doch jeder aufschieben kann?) Wie in fast jedem Hotel gab es auch hier nicht genügend Aufhängmöglickeiten für Handtücher, Strandtücher, Pooltücher, Duschtücher und nasse Badesachen. Die Liegen am Pool waren wahnsinnig unbequem, vor allem für große Menschen. Ein paar ältere Modelle waren voller Stockflecken. Da könnte man mal in hochwertigere Modelle investieren.
- Klaus (4/5): Sehr enttäuschend und keine Empfehlung - Nähe tum Meer Keine Mosquitoschutz an den Fenstern, daher konnte man es nachts nicht öffnen Extrem Laut in der Nacht da direkt an der Hauptstraße und den Zuggleisen Klimaanlage bläst auf das Bett Frühstück besteht aus zwei abgepackten Mini Cornflakespackungen für 3 Personen. Alles auf dem Zimmer zu essen wo es nicht einmal einen Tisch gibt.

- Niamh (10/5): Magnificent stay! We’ll be back! - A truly magnificent stay! The hosts Christina and Daniele could not be more helpful. They organised restaurants, taxis etc.. the rooms are magnificent particularly the family suite. Everyone had a great time. It was like have your own private villa. There are 3 beach clubs within a 5 minute walk and a number of restaurants too. I loved the little extras, like the bathroom amenities. It was a wonderful 3 night stay before our cruise. I would highly recommend Palazzo Podestà!
- Kristin (8/5): - The property was beautiful but we soon learned it was a converted house. There were only 5 rooms and no one worked at the front desk unless someone was checking in. Even when we left we were alone. The property is not convenient to the downtown area and we also learned they're are no taxis or ubers at night so we had to walk along a dark road. On Expedia it said they had wine tasting and breakfast for a small charge. They didn't have either. It also said they have a shuttle. I was asked if we needed a ride to the cruise ship and I said yes. I paid 6 euros which seemed cheap but it was for a shuttle. The van did pick us up but then proceeded to charge us 20 euros, so I guess the desk clerk charged a booking fee but did not explain it to us. Overall the stay was nice but it reminds me more of an airbnd rather than a hotel. The room was lovely and the staff was friendly and helpful. It also has a lovely ocean view. Make sure you have international calling incase you need help from the staff which we did because the QR code we were given to unlock our door stopped working. I am grateful the clerk answered my calls/text messages. Id give it a 3.5 star rating, nice place but not full service.

We really enjoyed the quiet time all day at the pool and specially spend times under the patio to talk, listen musique, sing, drinks; il will remember this time all my life with my daugther. - Anonymous (3/5): This facility is really a venue for local weddings and events, and not a stay for tourists. - Room was clean. Parking was convenient. I felt mislead by the pictures and description. I was expecting a seaside resort with lovely facilities. But it essentially a quiet AirBnB, with no amenities to speak of. There was no staff present during our stay, the room was dorm room like with cheap furnishings, and no view at all. No elevator and there place had no staff on site other than when we checked in. No restaurants to speak of near by, and the town is not at all walkable or particularly attractive. We didn't feel unsafe, but it is not a "nice" part of town. The pictures look absolutely lovely, and I envisioned sitting on the veranda enjoying a meal and a cocktail overlooking the sea. But that is not the experience delivered. Certainly feel that I could have found a much nicer place for the cost of our stay in the area.

- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional! Thank you again for making our family feel so special! - Our stay at Palazzo Podestà was the perfect finale stop to our 14-day family vacation. The host and the hotel exceeded all our expectations! Their hospitality and the way they pampered us were truly exceptional. I think I can speak for our entire group when I say this was one of the absolute highlights of our trip. If you ever have the chance to visit, I highly recommend it. Thank you again—and if we’re ever in the area, we’ll definitely make sure to stay here again! Nothing... it was perfect!

- Jersel (9/5): Superb - The place, it's big nice and beautiful. Not many restaurants nearby, and the only one that was there was closed, so your going to starve unless you want to take a taxi to go somewhere.
- Shelley (9/5): Italy - The staff was very friendly, and the grounds were very pretty. The bed was very comfortable and the snacks and bottled water were a very nice touch and much appreciated. The toilet was broken, rocked off floor, and hand-held shower head holder was broken and taped with duct tape. There is no restaurant or lounges nearby.
- Kati (8/5): Lovely place for a special occasion. - This is a lovely place for a special function or event. We used this as an extended family with small children as a place to spend the day after our cruise before heading to the airport. The staff were very friendly and we were able to check in very early. We had use of the pool and the sunbeds and a travel cot was provided with no extra charge. There was a supermarket right by to buy supplies for the day and we ate in a restaurant for lunch about a 5 minute walk away which was amazing. Our transfer back to the airport was also arranged by our host. Would have been nice to have a bar/drinks facility on site.

The “complimentary” food items were sort of “dated” while we had a view of the sea it also had the train so that wasn’t too fun. Wouks love to have sat outside in the garden but no comfy chairs. The room was fine for a night before a cruise. It was lovely to have an early check in…. NO welcome gift offered per the website descriptions Love the flowers

Young gentleman running the check-in and getting supplies which they had no idea what we were talking about, extra pillows, and comforter, which were throw pillows and a used smelly comforter which was stored in a plastic bag. Seems this was a Family home turned into bed-and-breakfast, which there was no breakfast, but they would bring some from the restaurant down the street or something. I don’t know? You could only go through the house to your room and out the front door to the backyard pool. Just a little weird but beautiful home and grounds.
