Best afternoon naps! - Absolutely stunning property, details were well thought out and there is a good amount of information toward what you will need for your stay. Patio chairs could be a little more comfy, we spent so much time unwinding and enjoying the view. Maybe a small table for dining on the patio or placing a beverage.

Ray (10/5): Adventure - We had an amazing time at Shearwater Cove. All of the staff were extremely kind and knowledgeable of the area. They constantly ensured that we were having a great time and had everything we needed. I would highly recommend staying at this property if you ever find yourself visiting the Seward area. We will definitely be back one day! Everything was fantastic, nothing we didn’t like.

Deborah (10/5): Glamping and Sea Kayaking with Sea Lions! OH MY! - One of the most unique ecolodges in remote Alaska that I have experienced as an Alaskan! Well-appointed yurts complete with stovetop, sink, propane heating unit, comfy queen bed with quality bedding, towels, board games, bear spray, table and chairs, etc as well as an adjacent private outhouse with a glorious hot showering facility per yurt. This is a rare Alaskan kayak glamping experience, one that any true adventure traveler who likes some comforts (ie, bed, hot shower, heater) will want to add to their bucket list. I absolutely loved the freedom to hike and/or sea kayak at your leisure! The raw, wild scenery of this natural gem is absolutely EPIC! Kayaking along side a sea lion is a pretty incredible experience too, you should give it a whirl! Final note: 2 nights seemed to be the perfect length of stay as it allowed enough time to experience all the available hiking trails and also kayak out to all the local destinations near Shearwater Cove without it feeling extremely rushed. Trying to do it all in a one night stay, would be a lot IMHO. Can't think of much. As long as all understand this is truly a REMOTE Alaskan lodge and come prepared to 1- fully unplug (there is no wifi or cell service), 2- dress for any potential weather (which can be anything in coastal Alaska) and 3- comprehend that you will need to bring EVERYTHING (ie, FOOD, clothing, dry bags, ICE, sunblock, rain gear, meds) except water, olive oil, coffee, and salt & pepper that you will need, then you should have an absolutely incredible experience!

Deborah (10/5): Amazing and beautiful—-Boat ride in and out was great! - Amazing location. Stunning setting. Short hiking trails were nice, but very very short. It’s all about Kayaking. Yurts super comfy and heater is amazing! No covered porch on all the yurts-didn’t understand there some were covered and some not Was told by on-site host that there were no cards, but ended up finding some. Which was a bit disappointing that when asked he said there were none. Also, didn’t understand the details of an orientation for Kayaks until we were headed to go out. Asked question on this bookings site about bear spray and other logistics and never got a response before we arrived-but sounds like they are new to Bookings.com. I didn’t understand that there were different levels of accommodations, like charging for our phones (only for pics) ect until we arrived. Wish I would have known that. Pics showed covers porch only, not the uncovered porch and patio furniture for our unit was 2folding chairs. Not really patio furniture.
