- Arushi (5/5): -
- Nishant (8/5): - Room was big and clean The bathtub was big but hot water was not enough for that so it ended up not being in use
The mattress was too soft
- Ritwik (1/5): - Pathetic hotel

- Shravan (10/5): - Staff were extremely hospitable. The demographics of the zostel stayers were great as well. Met like minded people and made friends for life. Alcohol not being included. Although i dont drink. I suggest it brings in the vibe. There has to be a fine line between what is allowed and how it to be consumed.
- Riya (8/5): - The people — staff and hostellers both were very friendly and helpful. They don’t have towels, I didn’t know that before. Although the cafe and the food was really nice but their coffee machine doesn’t work.
The bathroom needs a little renovation. It looked bleak and dirty even after it was cleaned.
- Ankita (10/5): One stop hub for all type of travellers. - Staff service. Customised travel info and options from travel community organised by Rohan Gupta. Cleanliness. Everyday housekeeping. Food in cafeteria. Common area service. Always sold out 😊

- Ghosal (10/5): - I am a solo female traveller and I found this place clean, safe and lively. I got to meet and interact with so many other travellers from different parts of India and some from abroad.
There is a playing room, there is TT table, hand football table, PlayStation, a few card games and an adjacent terrace. That was a really cool place to hangout.
This place also has pre-scheduled itineraries, which I wasn't aware of. I already had my entire itinerary planned and therefore couldn't join any of the trips from the Zostel. Next time, I'll keep a few days room in my itinerary to go on them.
The rooms and bathrooms are super clean. Each of the bunk beds have a dedicated plug point and a reading lamp. The only thing I found a little inconvenient is its distance from Police Bazaar, the centre point of Shillong. However, there is Rapido available in the area.
- Rakesh (8/5): Over all it was a nice stay with zostel , especially the staff behaviour. - Staff behaviour, location , ambience and food I think bed price should be little less

- LAKSHMI (1/5): Not good to stay especially for female - Nothing I am totally upset with the property, because I have taken 2 female dormitory shared with another 2 female dormitory, 1st day they have offered for a lady only but 2nd day we were surprised to see a male coming out of the dormitory, when I asked the staff he told me that he hasn't disturbed you right.... so this is totally unfair and we were unaware that we are sharing a bathroom with a male......guys I suggest you to not to book this

- Ieline (5/5): Bearable! Towels are basic facilities to be provided if someone is paying more than Rs 1000 for one night. Even that was - They gave us a driver who was kind and helped us in traveling around. They made us wait to clean the dorm but still didn’t clean it before our entry. Even the washrooms were dirty. When I was sleeping on the upper bed of the dorm, I could clearly see spider web. Besides, they gave the keys of two lockers to another girl with whom Jahnabi was sharing her dorm. This caused problem for Jahnabi as she has kept her luggage in the locker but the other girl locked it. We waited in the cafeteria for too long for simple food items. And they hardly clean that area. Leftover foods were on the table so they were a lot of houseflies. There wasn’t drinking water at 7am in the morning. Overall, we felt like they have lesser number of staff than necessary so it was causing problem everywhere. We could hardly find anyone in the reception to ask or complain about something which wasted a lot of time of ours.
- Gauri (8/5): Very good -
- Anu (9/5): Solo travelling - Santosh dai managed the property and at the same time gave wonderful travel suggestions. He along with other solo travellers did watch out for other solo travellers. Even if you are travelling solo, here u will be safe.
- Kuli (5/5): Spacious room without internet connection - Spacious room There's no internet connection in that place. Really disappointed 😞
You won't find any room service person throughout your stay
- Sunil (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ekaterina (6/5): Pleasant - Friendly staff Location far from the city
- Prayrak (1/5): No - Food Worst experience ever with zostel shillong specially on the staff front
- Madhav (9/5): Superb -
- Shah (10/5): Awesome! Must Visit - Everything was amazing.
- Hasnain (6/5): Pleasant - The dorm washroom, staff and common areas were good. Gets noisy towards evenings, if your a social butterfly, you fit right in. Unfortunately am not.
- Pratheek (7/5): Good -
- Smriti (9/5): Awesome for explorers - Loved the hospitality, esp how kind Lafi and the gentleman at the reception (sorry forgetting his name) were. The helped us make the most of our time and gave us handy tips.
The staff at the cafe were also great the service in the cafe was rather slow
- Trisha (6/5): Pleasant -
- Priyam (9/5): Superb -
- Akash (10/5): Exceptional - The staff were really hospitable. The rooms were well maintained and clean. The deluxe four people shared bedrooms were especially premium and the beds were super comfortable. I will visit again on my next trip to Meghalaya.
- Monika (8/5): Very good - The staff was wonderful. Santosh ji helped us a lot in organizing our trip. Mr. Kanak, our driver for exploring Wari Chora, was an excellent company. He showed us around and kept the vibe of our entire journey upbeat with his jokes and liveliness.
- Kurian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sreechand (1/5): Bad -
- Renu (5/5): Passable -
- Swathi (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing stay, would recommend everyone to stay here.
- Mascarenhas (8/5): Very good -
- Brinda (8/5): Very good -
- Jyotisman (8/5): Very good -
- Shah (4/5): The worst property of zostel I have seen so far - Location was good as it was in the outskirts of Shillong 1. So we booked two beds in a female dorm and two beds in mixed dorm. We realised two female dorms had one common washroom which had to be locked from the other side when you need to use it. This system is so useless that once we found our washroom locked from inside, we kept thinking for a long time that it is being used by female of other dorm. After a long time, we realised that no one is inside but it's just that the girl forgot to open the latch after using it. Caretaker opened the door for us but the washroom was full of cigrette smoke even though smoking isn't allowed inside the property. And we found very careless response from zostel on the matter.
2. The bedsheet on our bed had a blood spot. They changed the bedsheet immediately but it was disappointing to see it at the first place.
3. Common room is on the second floor. So if you need any place to sit, you need to climb up two floors.
- Swagat (10/5): Exceptional -
- Savanth (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ekambaram (7/5): Good - Beds Location
- Kaustubh (8/5): Very good - The staff was polite and the location was good.

- Prasanjit (10/5): Exceptional -
- Satyaki (7/5): Good -
- Lavanya (9/5): Started solo, but travelled with folks from all walks of life - Awesome staff and management. Great crowd to travel Meghalaya with. Convenient cab bookings. Scooter/bike rentals on the property itself. Location is not walkable, but alright for scooter/bike riders. In-house cafe is good for meals, there are few options close-by.
- Prateek (5/5): It was a pleasant stay but would have been a lot better if the basic amenities were also provided. - Location and ambience of property is great. The basic amenities were missing. Towels weren’t provided. The electrical appliances at the property were not functioning properly and there was no one on the reception to address the same. The support staff had a laid back attitude in providing basic necessary services.
- Anshul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sahil (10/5): Exceptional -
- Baruah (9/5): Superb -
- Sushmita (8/5): Very good -
- Miks (8/5): Good - Stayed in the private room. It was very clean, neat and nice. The property is very nice. The WiFi worked very well.
- Prasanjit (9/5): Superb -
- Piyush (6/5): Pleasant -
- Mego (10/5): Exceptional - My recent stay at Zostel Shillong was nothing short of fantastic. Nestled in the serene hills, this hostel offers a perfect blend of comfort, community, and charm. The rooms were clean, well-maintained, and offered breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes.
However, what truly set this experience apart was the incredible hospitality, especially from Santosh. From the moment we arrived, Santosh made us feel right at home. His warm and genuine nature, along with his willingness to assist with everything.
I can confidently say that Zostel Shillong, with its amazing team, especially Santosh, is one of the best places I’ve stayed. It’s more than just a hostel – it’s a place where you feel cared for, and that makes all the difference.
Thank you, Santosh, and the entire Zostel team, for making our trip to Shillong unforgettable ☺️
- Vishal (4/5): Not at all the zostal waala feeling, despite the property being very good... Need to improve Service - Mr. Santosh is a good resource there, He manages clients amazingly & ensures quality service. There was one Community manager Shreyansni who is intern there and least bothered about clients, She had gang there for 3-4 Girls Boyz including that intern from Zostal .
Yesterday at the time of Dinner they were loud like anything and I was unwell, I requested Cafe man but he also said 'Ye log aise hi hai'.
If you are travelling weekdays then there is no activity as on Tuesday evening the herself announced Movie night & Played some silent movies as per these people convenience.
If I ever come then believe only because Santosh ji has arranged medicine and proper help while reaching the airport..
Nothing to complain about but the property owner shd know what people are doing.
Thx
