Guest Reviews
- Janet (8/5): - Wonderful views
Very comfortable beds No storage for groceries
- Andrea (7/5): Overall very nice - Lovely location We were left without WiFi for two full days therefore couldn’t watch any tv and couldn’t get online. This aspect was disappointing but they did bring a new router the night before we were due to leave.
- verity (9/5): Don’t tell everyone, but this place is lovely! - Shhhhh don’t tell everyone but this is a tranquil, quiet and cute place to stay!
Location great. Cute little footpaths to and from the pub and cafe restaurant. Views stunning! Delightful!
Plenty of grass to take the dog out for morning sniffs. Dusty and kept making me sneeze. Cupboards and tables need pulling out for a deep clean.
Floor very creaky, which I am sure you could do something with (I know it’s a barn conversion).

- Louise (10/5): Exceptional - Stunning location in a beautiful part of Devon, very clean property very comfortable beds. The settees in the lounge are not the most comfortable
- Pamela (10/5): We had a lovely stay and found some nice eating places. - The cottage was excellent & the few added extras coffee, t/bags etc, were appreciated. The views were outstanding from both aspects. We can recommend The Sportsman pub on the road out of Dittisham & The Waterman's Arms, Tuckenhay (be etween Dittisham & Totnes) for eating. From a H&S view, and as older people, a handrail on the h/side of the stairs would be good as the lower half felt a little unsafe. Despite the instructions in the folder, there is no food waste bin or recycling bin; only a gen waste bin as I asked housekeeping about it.. If you walk to the small quay, go down through the car park & avoid the steep road out of the village (cardiac hill) on your return.
- Cassian (8/5): Very good - Clean and a peaceful location. The shower was only just luke warm on the maximum setting and the kitchen sink plug hole did not seal.
- Jean (8/5): Very good - Location and view was great Stairs down to bedroom and bathroom could do with a handrail and a grab rail on the wall adjacent to the shower would aid access to the low shower tray
- Aud (9/5): A perfect property for 2 people. - This is a perfect property for 2 people staying a week. The kitchen and lounge were upstairs with the bedrooms and bathroom downstairs. The kitchen was well equipped and having a dishwasher was a bonus. The beds were very comfortable and we both slept well. The shower would be a problem for anyone over 6" as you step down into it and is positioned under the stairs. Everything was clean and of a very good quality. I would definitely recommend staying at this property. Nothing.
- Barbara (5/5): Amazing views, quirky village, sunsets truly amazing. Dusty, and a little dank in the back. - The views, the sunsets amazing from doorway.Dittisham itself a beautiful village .
Swifts flying by made it special, church bell practice one evening added to the charm. Whilst the property was “clean” there was dust on ornaments, shutters, and not particularly welcoming the front door knob( we investigated no further) . The bedrooms downstairs (not particularly mentioned in letting information) not easy to get suitcases up and down. Also a bit dark and one very snug with the big king size bed. This bed was very hard, no natural light in this bed room either.
Bathroom could perhaps do with a ventilation fan, only taller people would reach the window to allow for some air to circulate.
The outside of the windows need a good clean too.
- Jenny (9/5): Great property in a great location - Location and surroundings were fabulous. Great views of Dartmouth The sofas were not very comfortable
- Konstantinos (8/5): Very nice, clean and comfortable cottage - Good location with very nice views of the Dart river, games at the cottage a very nice touch! Not applicable
- Sophie (8/5): Great place to stay in Dittisham - Beautiful house, decor was so stylish, comfortable and well kitted out. Info pack and instruction manuals all provided and extensive. Would definitely stay again. Not suitable for young families or people who struggle with stairs.
- Stuart (10/5): Spot on - Everything was spot on
- Nick (10/5): Fabulous October break - great pub/post office/shop just round the corner. ferry to dartmouth bit hilly
- Phillip (8/5): Delightful short break. - Lovely location. Very tidy. A bit small for 4 adults.
- Calvin (8/5): Beautiful quiet place. - A nice compacted cottage, in a very quiet location, the property had everything we needed and because of the location we did explore the surroundings and made the most of the transport links to the river.
We did really enjoy our stay and our didn't likes are picky so the owner could make it amazing. Sofa weren't too comfy and (the laid upside down ??) lounge carpet was very harsh to walk on as the rest of the property was lovely. Heating timer took some working and wifi code in all info was incorrect.
