- Sian (9/5): A tranquil hideaway - We wanted a tranquil stopover during a busy schedule, and Backieley Lodge delivered. It's charming and comfortable, hidden away from everything and, although on a working farm, very quiet. The décor is soothing and the bed is large and very comfortable. You have enough kitchen equipment to organise simple food (kettle, toaster, microwave) and you will be very well provisioned at the Hap Yin Chinese Takeaway nearby. On our first night, I went to the bathroom cabin under a gibbous moon and on the next night, to the sound of owls calling. I was a little concerned at first at going outside to the bathroom. However, the room itself is very warm, with a good shower and contemporary décor. It's but a step from the bedroom. And it gives you a moment to take in nature, which is the point of the place. Just lovely all round.
- alan (9/5): Ideal for our requirements . - Gemma was very helpful allowing us to check in early .
Easy to find the chalet in a peaceful location . Basic but with all the facilities and equipment required .
We would recommend to anyone considering visiting this lovely area . I couldn’t figure how to get a program on the telly ,BBC etc , but that’s me with technology.
- Roger (10/5): Angenehm - Etwas ausserhalb und so sehr ruhig
- Josephine (10/5): Exceptional - Such a lovely place. Very quiet. What a view to wake up :)
- Lisa (10/5): Perfect weekend in scenic Aberdeenshire. - We visited 27th-29th September. The lodge was immaculately clean, well presented with a very cosy atmosphere. The location was great for a nice walk, with beautiful views, into the village. The lodge was kept lovely and toasty by an electric heater above the door. The toilet/shower facilities were modern, clean and warm. We will definitely book again the next time we are in Aberchirder visiting family. Can’t think of anything negative at all.
- Shannon (10/5): Cosy lodge in rural town - lovely lodge with suitable amenities. beautiful location. very comfortable and peaceful. handy leaflet provided with info on the local areas. only thing that could possibly be improved is considering putting a canopy or something between the lodge and the bathroom outside to provide shelter from the rain when needing to access the bathroom.
- Lynda (9/5): Short stay visiting relatives in the area, ideal base for this and some me time as well - Beautiful tranquil place, very clean and comfortable
- Irvine (10/5): Exceptional - The place was spotless and suited our needs. Even tho we were warned it was a working farm it was very peaceful As above
- Chloe (10/5): Great experience, very nice place to stay and definitely would stay again - The property was beautiful, such pretty scenery on the farmland as you drive up to the lodge. Inside is so cozy and warm and very clean, everything was set out neatly for our arrival and instructions for wifi and heater etc were in a brochure. The grass garden part attached outside is lovely, only disappointed we had heavy rain during our entire stay but it was still a great experience
