- Lenka (9/5): Exactly as advertised - I stayed here for almost a month as a solo traveler and I enjoyed my stay very much. The apartment is exactly as advertised in the photos/description.👍 There is some wear and tear noticable on walls, but the building is old so I wasn't surprised. The apartment was overall very clean, so I think the age adds character.
All of the appliences worked well, so nothing to complain about there. The kitchen equipment overall is very basic (clearly seen in the photos), but unless you're planning to cook something elaborate it's just fine. I even managed to bake a few things in the small oven. I'm also happy to report that the AC unit heated/cooled the apartment well (I was here in Spring).
The owner is friendly and responds quickly. For example I encountered a problem with the toilet after I returned one afternoon (around 4 to 5PM). A partial fix was done the same day and a full fix the next day (because of needed replacement parts). I've also recieved clean sheets each Monday.
The neighborhood feels safe (I'm saying this as a woman traveling alone) and there are several small supermarkets in the vicinity (one it literally just around the corner and then there is Carrefour and Día a few blocks away). I washed all of my clothes by hand (as I planned from the beginning), but there is a laundromat I found on the way to Los Incas station (around three blocks I think) if you want to use an actual washing machine.
Speaking of public transport, Los Incas station (Line B) is about a 5-10 minute walk. There are also several bus stops on the way there and then around the station (a lot of different lines). So getting around without a car isn't a problem. The subway ride to the more touristy parts of the city is about 30 min.
I recommend bringing indoor shoes for the apartment, since the floor is tiled (not wood etc.) and pretty cold because of that. Nothing much, but during heavy rains a bit of water does get through the door. Just stuff a few rags (available in the apartment) under the door and you're good.👍
