- Emma (10/5): Nice and spacious house near to town - Nice and spacious easy access to town Only downside is having to park a street away from the house but it’s fine

- Muhammad Jamil (10/5): Catered for our families needs, would definitely book again. Thank you - Clean, comfy and good location.
- helen (10/5): -
- Helena (10/5): A little gem in the heart of Newport - This was a little gem in the heart of Newport. The house was spacious, clean and in a perfect location for going to a gig in the Centre of Newport. There was easy access from the M4, really close to the train station and plenty of parking. It was a short hop into town where we enjoyed a visit to Newport Food Market which was fabulous and a gig at the Corn Exchange. The street was quiet. The shower was amazing. It was excellent value for money. A few extra dishes wouldn't go amiss- although perhaps they were there and I just didn't find them!!
- hln1 (9/5): -
- Maxine (7/5): It was in a good location and had great space. Could use a deep clean to reset. - The space was really good, it didn't feel cramped, the garden was a bonus. It felt bright. Although close to town it was quiet. Parking nearby was easy. It could have been a bit cleaner, especially in the kitchen area. There was a lack of towels, eg hand towels, tea towels, which I thought were included.
- Claire (7/5): -
- László (8/5): - There should be a second toilet for this capacity.
Rien !
- Catherine (7/5): Perfect location for the few hours we spent there - Location perfect for train station.
Host helpful allowed us early access.
Spacious
Large bathroom, good shower.
Safety features for children if necessary. Bathroom not on same floor as bedrooms.
Sofa stained and dirty.
Basic kitchen area.
Towels had a 'smell'
Not being able to park outside property.
- Jo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dharshanie (8/5): Close to the station and town centre. - Close to the railway station and the town.
This is a large, three level house with a back yard in a very quiet street. Good for a group or a large family. Would not suit anyone having difficulty taking the stairs as the kitchen is in lower ground floor, bathroom entrance level and bed rooms up stairs.
We were able to check in early and it was very helpful for us as we could not find luggage drop off places in Newport. Kitchen towels/paper towels in the kitchen would be helpful. We could not find any.
There was no hand washing liquid or soap in the kitchen. Hand sanitiser was there.
- Simon (9/5): Superb - Gorgeous place ,infact huge ,only thing was I couldn't get the tv going ,although this was probably my fault, apart from that ,excellent Nothing
- Dmitry (3/5): Poor -
- Vanessa (8/5): Lovely! - Space, location, proximity to public transport and parking, proximity to local shops. The little garden with fruit trees!
- James (8/5): Very good - It was complete
Quite
- Paul (9/5): Nice place to stay, beds very good, clean and well appointed, Gavin was helpful, cant ask for more - Nice place to stay, beds very good, clean and well appointed, Gavin was very helpful, can't ask for much more Just one thing couldn't find the tea towel
- Nitin (7/5): Good stay but no parking - The house cleanliness was very good and everything inside was above my expectations The description of the property said that there is free parking available which is incorrect. There is only parking for permit holders and I had to go looking for parking after getting there
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Hannah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Liam (10/5): Really nice night away - Spacious, big tv, comfortable beds, quiet street even though you are quite central Not really a complaint just a note that there is no kettle because the hot water is built into the kitchen tap, there was a note ti explain but this had blown onto the floor so took me a while to figure it out...then we found the note so don't panic if you fancy a brew it's all there
- Stephen (7/5): Easy Access to Cardiff - It's a great place to stay very clean and very comfortable with plenty of room. Easy access via key safe and on street parking close by
Two guys attending Cardiff for the football, unable to find anywhere in Cardiff due to Rugby international and therefore booked what we could. Greengage is 5 minute walk to Newport train station and 15 minutes top to Cardiff.
After a few beers in Cardiff train back to Newport and the city centre is close with plenty of bars/places to eat and is a nice place with 'friendly locals'.
- James (9/5): Superb -
- Richard (10/5): Spacious character home in quiet and central location - Very spacious. On the top floor there were 3 bedrooms and other areas elsewhere (like an office and the lounge) where even more sleeping room was possible. Bathroom was huge as well. Quiet area at night. Easy walk to the station and a couple of shops a few minutes away. Street parking if needed. Warm. Character property with features like a fireplace and original floorboards. Having the kitchen down stairs (effectively basement level) but opening out onto the garden is a nice touch. Host works hard to please. Nothing much to say here. If you don't like walking up a hill to get to it (if not arriving by car) or you don't like or can't use stairs then it's not for you. I didn't find any problems to report.
- Lps (7/5): Lovely property in a quiet area. Reasonable value for money. - Breakfast not provided and was not part of the deal. Facilities were nice. House was a very good size including all three bedrooms. Lighting was excellent and decor tasteful. The heating was temperamental in the lounge but ok elsewhere in the property. Shower was very nice although it wasn't obvious what controls operated which bit. You had to guess but that was a minor issue. Great space in the kitchen / diner area. Lounge radiator already mentioned as a bit problematical which we felt more because it was a cold night.
The cooker was an electric one and I had never used one before. Trial and error to make that work. Some instructions may have helped.
The mattress on the bed on the last bedroom as you climb the property was not fit for purpose. There was a big dip in the middle of that mattress and a spring poking. The person using this bed had a very bad nights sleep which reflects in the overall ratings. This person was our designated driver for the trip back to London so it wasn't a nice stay for them.
- Bryn (8/5): Good rugby retreat - Near train station, so easy to get to Cardiff for the rugby. Need more crockery and to be able watch normal TV channels.
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Emily (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely house. So spacious. Shame we weren't staying longer.
- Jennings (8/5): Lovely - The house was huge. Could have easily slept more people. Beds were really comfortable. Clean. Host communication was excellent There was only one bathroom/toilet. An additional toilet would have been useful.
Some sweet wrappers left by previous people which weren't cleaned up. Parking was okay but not very clear where you should park without a permit.
- Proctor (10/5): Excellent stay - The house was spacious and clean Nothing
- Wing (9/5): Nice - Wonderful and great interior design Nothing
- Pedro (10/5): Good house and comfortable - Very nice house split in 3 floors with a lot of ammenities Unpractical as you have living area and kitchen/ dinning area in different floors
- Peter (10/5): Spacious, good transport links, lovely vibe to layout and decor. - House clearly loved by its owner who has also managed to make guests feel very welcome. Far more spacious than photos suggest. A space clearly made for simple pleasures - light, quiet and feels safe. Any faults are the responsibility of Newport Council! Greengage House is a peaceful oasis and ideal for those looking to for good transport links in accommodation that elevates the area. We will be back.
- Muhammed (10/5): Gavin was always responsive to my messages and made sure everything was in place for a perfect stay. - A wonderful spacious house with garden and all required amenities. Very close to the town centre, with a Tesco Express and a fish and shop a few minutes walk away. Nothing comes to mind.
- Brian (7/5): Not bad - Big house No kettle all the banging from next door the house was so creepy no towels
- Emma (10/5): Nice spacious house easy walk into town - Nice and spacious Nothing really
- Kunal (9/5): Would book again - Nice big house in a quiet street, yet very close to everything. Host was also available to speak to and responded quickly.
- Edward (8/5): nice house good location - Nice house, good central location Not enough chairs in kitchen and mismatched crockery, mugs etc.
- Mayne (10/5): Exceptional - everything was perfect and great location and very clean the only thing that would help is a toilet in the office instead next to the bedrooms.
- Becky (9/5): Large home on quiet street - Large home. Three bedrooms upstairs. Large kitchen and eating area in the basement open to the backyard. Quiet street The kitchen was two floors down from the bedrooms. Not a big deal
- Becky (9/5): Superb -
- Rebecca (9/5): Just what we needed - Good location. Plenty of space in house. Everything easy to use. Great communication by host Door was very stiff - getting in was fine but going out very difficult.
- Emma (9/5): Superb -
- Justin (8/5): Very good -
- Kelli (6/5): Lovely place to stay - Only stayed one night as visiting friends, Lovely place to stay, plenty of space over 3 levels, key safe to get in so no need to see anyone when you arrive, plenty of appliances in the kitchen, bathroom was very nice with large bath and shower. Curtains would be great especially in the bedrooms, and some milk in the fridge would be good for arrival.
- Indronil (10/5): Exceptional -
- Susan (9/5): Very good . - Lovely garden. Lovely house too, comfortable beds, All was very pleasing to the eye. Our only perhaps is another toilet and a better parking map.
- Marcus (10/5): Exceptional - Great house and would book again.
- James (9/5): Superb -
- Priya (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ruth (10/5): Exceptional - Well-equipped spacious house with relaxing garden Nothing.
- Eddy (8/5): Very good -
- Emma (10/5): Beautiful property in a beautiful location. Will return! - Stunning property, spacious and well presented
- Shaun (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrea (10/5): Great overnight stay whilst attending an event at ICC - Host was very responsive with answers to questions before the visit
House was spotless, with everything we could require
- Chris (10/5): Welsh gem - Fantastic house right behind the main station but still very quiet.
Easy parking right nearby.
Exceptional accommodation and facilities. Nothing
- Jack (9/5): Comfortable, close to transport, lots of space, clean and tidy. - Clean and tidy, great space, lovely property, friendly host via message. Lefts towels out n/a
- Harris (8/5): Very good -
- Alex (8/5): Good stay, slept well, quiet - Cosy and clean Parking was okay but I can imagine if busy then difficult
- Sarwan (8/5): Very good -
- Debbie (10/5): Exceptional - Great value for money. Welcoming supplies. Good communication from obliging host. Super clean. A wonderful amount of space. Only a slight discomfort from one of the mattresses but it wouldn't stop us booking again!
- Joseph (10/5): extremely wonderful - very accessible and close to d train and bus station, very spacious room and would definitely come back later maybe two toilet
- Georgie (9/5): Convenient and comfortable - would definitely recommend - Location is well placed 5 minutes walk from the train station and car parking outside the property if required. Even though the property is only 10 minutes walk from the town centre, the area is very peaceful (no train noise). The local Tesco is a couple of minutes walk away down the hill. Accommodation is spacious and comfortable and the garden area is lovely for sitting out in when the weather is good. Wifi speed is good. Not a concern for us, but the kitchen/dining area is downstairs from the living room which could be an issue if you have a mobility problem.
- Daniel (10/5): Exceeded expectations - The house exceeded expectations.
The living room was lovely and spacious with a very comfortable sofa and the kitchen downstairs was a great space.
Very conveniently located next to the train station with a Tesco extra just around the corner.
Highly recommend!
- Marie (9/5): Great location near train station. - Great host. Parking can be tricky as limited. But clear instructions from host.
Only one toilet, we were a large group.
- Michelle (9/5): Superb - Lovely house, comfy beds, great shower.
- Max (10/5): great house , great location , great owners - Gavin was great , we managed to check in early , he was really helpful and always got back to us really quickly, house was super clean and we really enjoyed our stay , we will be coming back again next year nothing
- Diane (8/5): A lovely house with a beautiful garden, would happily stay again. Thank you ☺️ - Very spacious, well equipped house on the edge of Newport town Centre. Easy walk into town and very close to railway station. Although parking is restricted around the area we always managed to find somewhere to park. The house and gardens are maintained to a high standard with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Good communication from the host. Nothing
- William (9/5): Great host. Great accommodation. Good location. - The host, Gavin was very friendly and informative. Bread, biscuits and milk were provided. The location is great if you don’t want to be too far from the station. The accommodation is high quality and was very comfortable to stay in.
- Mariyana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Helen (9/5): Brilliant stay - Lots of space, very comfortable beds, welcoming and quiet location Nothing
- Tom (9/5): Superb -
- Joanna (9/5): Kind and helpful owner who left bread, milk, tea, coffee, biscuits etc.. for our arrival. Loved staying there with plent - Beautiful, spacious property with lovely garden and good location near station and shop nearby. We really enjoyed staying here and would definitely recommend it. No instructions for the cooker, but worked it out in the end. (Not that difficult but just not used to induction hob)
- Ioan-samoel (10/5): Exceptional - The house very clean, spacious, big garden, nice area, very hospitable host. There was nothing to don't like.
- Beechey (10/5): Exceptional - It was a lovely property very clean
- Foluke (10/5): Amazing host, excellent service, property exceeded expectations - Everything was good Parking wasn't good, car was badly damaged and no trace of who did it. Otherwise everything else was on point.
- Satpal (9/5): Thoroughly recommend. - excellent - clean, tidy. fresh bread and milk and coffee was available in the kitchen. Fantastic communication. Accommodated an earlier check in.
- Libby (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sarah (10/5): Beautiful house, and exactly what I needed! - Beautiful house, with everything you needed and more. It felt a waste keeping it to myself and would happily bring my family next time. Nothing, parking was a little awkward, but I was given great directions and locations. It was luck of the draw, and nothing the host could do or change.
- Júlia (10/5): Great stay in Newport! - The house is incredible, even more beautiful than I saw in the pictures. Great size, good quality bed, easy access from the train station. The garden is really nice, it was well lit, and close to a Tesco and a really good coffee shop. Gavin was an amazing host and really helpful. It could have another bathroom since the house can fit a lot of guests, but honestly, that wasn't an issue for my group. And the bathroom is great.
- Ian (10/5): I would recommend this place to anyone staying in the area it’s a wonderful place to relax.. - This is an excellent accommodation for a visit in Newport it’s very close to everywhere and it’s also very peaceful, even the neighbours are cool 😎
- Ben (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kayleigh (10/5): House was lovely. Has a massive back garden which would be ideal for summer. Great location, very clean and very well ma - The property is beautiful.
Very modern and spacious.
It was perfect location. We planned to stay in Newport but ended up getting an Uber into Cardiff as it’s so close and very low cost to do so. N/A
- Rachel (8/5): An excellent place to be so long as you can cope with stairs (it's a town house on a steep hill). -
- Joshua (9/5): It’s a spacious family home, perfect for train rides across the southern coast. - Greengage House was a lovely family home, with all the amenities needed for a family of 4+ to have a blast in Newport and South Wales. The beds are big and the added office space allowed for a bit of work to get done on holiday. It’s fully equipped with child protection gating to keep toddlers safe (which wasn’t our concern). For a tasty breakfast or lunch, the Rogue Fox and Holy Cheesus are just around the block. We liked the location, easy to get to the station or down to the pubs and such of Newport’s river walk. We also hopped on western trains to Swansea, Barry Island, Cardiff, Caerphilly, as well as Bristol and Salisbury/Stonehenge heading east. One minor struggle we had was keeping the cold at bay. There are good radiators in every room but the modern devices automatically switched off. We managed just fine, but it would be nice to have extra blankets or comforters during colder stays.
- Vanessa (8/5): Very good -
- Rachel (10/5): Exceptional - To say this house is value for money would be a understatement. Spotlessly clean and a gorgeous spacious house. It worked out cheaper for us and 2 friends than a hotel and we definitely will stay again when we are in the area next.
We were even left some milk and bread etc by the hosts which we weren't expecting.. Thanks for a great stay.. Their was nothing to dislike..
- Tasmin (8/5): Very good -
- Dean (9/5): Superb - Great communication from host, flexible arrangements and ideal location near to train station and town. Nothing
- Colin (9/5): Superb -
- Fig (10/5): Great stay!! - Communication was top notch. Professional too. House very clean and so comfortable. Easy access n location was perfect. Nothing
- Mark (10/5): Would recommend - The layout, the cleanliness, the comfortability of the beds
