Guest Reviews
- Charlotte (9/5): Relaxing family country holiday - The location was superb - completely on its own. A short drive to use the swimming pool.
We were a family of 10 - 4 children 18months to 7 years, 2 grandparents and 4 parents. It was cosy and comfortable for all of us. The house has obviously seen a lot of use but it was very relaxing for us not to have to worry about the children and furnishings. Log fire is great, kitchen very well equipped.
We were there when temperatures dropped to minus 7 + - found that we could put central heating on for an additional time. Plenty of hot water. Nothing.
Although quite isolated, it is not too far to drive to a shop.
- Brian (8/5): peaceful - That it was able to fit a large amount of people in and still feel like there was room! Location was so peaceful! The oven, was shocking didn’t cook and is no good when there is large parties staying! There should be dual oven or an air fryer would help! Also that fact there was a smoke alarm in the kitchen didn’t help!
- Ben (7/5): - Lovely house, furnished well and warm and cozy. Bedrooms were great and it was in the end well placed Could do with some additional bits to make staying there even better, like a hot tub.
Oven was a little slow.
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Heather (8/5): Great cottage for multi generations - Rooms were spacious and clean. A few cobwebs, but that's to be expected in a countryside property. Barbecue was missing, but a new one provided the following day after a phone call. Plenty of logs provided for the fire, which was great, as the evenings were chilly. Small welcome pack on arrival - tea, coffee, biscuits. Great that washing up liquid, sponge, bin bags were provided. Plenty of pots, pans, cutlery etc. There were a few books and games in the cottage, but we brought our own. Nice outdoor eating area. Easy to book extra swimming pool slots.
Great location for lots of walks, overlooking the tarn. Remote location so plenty of wildlife spotted, herons, deer, owl etc. Some of the kitchen equipment was showing its age, and the kitchen tap had a mind of its own, but apart from minor things like that, there was nothing we didn't like.
- Georgie (9/5): Superb -
- Suzanne (9/5): Lovely weekend, super spot - Location was perfect very well equipped kitchen, lovely fire and spacious. Nothing
- Aj (9/5): Superb - House was perfect, very clean and spacious . Great surroundings. No wifi, didn’t let us use it not too sure why. So throughout our stay we had no phone connection and WiFi.
- Paulette (9/5): beautiful cottage just up the road from Lake Windermere. - clean spacious cottage which was perfect for our extended families to stay in. could have done with a bit more lighting outside as it was very dark on the driveway and the bin area plus the bins were not clear which one was recycling etc. and some more firelighters as it was tricky to get it going.lack of wifi drove the teenagers insane lol, the complimetry box was really nice with the coffee and teabags. A list of all the cottages and the walks would be quite handy too, the hotel facilities were beautiful too. xx wi fi and more lighting outside, possible torch for outside would have been quite handy. some of the plates and tins had dried on food on from previous people but I know it wou;d be hard to check all the pots.
- Andy (8/5): Very good -
- Fiona (9/5): Superb - Great provision of crockery and cutlery and perfect size dining table for 10. Lovely forest setting and view to the front of the house. The lakeside water sport area is excellent. Well maintained and safe. And the pool is fabulous for children. Not such a great view from the back. The unused and dilapidated kennels were a little spooky.
- Gillian (9/5): Superb -
- Rachel (7/5): A weekend stay - The cottage was a great space and had plenty of room for our group of adults, children and dogs! It was nicely decorated and comfortable. The property is in need of a thorough clean as carpets were dirty and there were cobwebs everywhere (I appreciate there will be some with the age of the property but there were lots!). The property also needs a bit of TLC as mould around windows and lots of scuff marks on walls needing a paint touch up.
- Thomas (9/5): Superb - Really clean and well equipped house. Tranquil rural location with lovely views. Local roads not the greatest - potholes (issues with accessibilty of the roads is to be expected in this part of the world).
- Jane (10/5): Exceptional -
