- Charla (10/5): I will return next May for my next cruise. - The location was perfect. I walked to the pier for my cruise. I found a bakery/cafe only 3 blocks away that was amazing. Also found a grocery store within walking distance. I will return for my next cruise. I loved it all. The staff was helpful. It was very peaceful and comfortable.
- Linda (10/5): Clean, comfortable, affordable - Everything except parking Parking
- MARIA CECILIA (9/5): -
- Inger lise (10/5): just what i wanted! - everything was great nothing
- mike (5/5): - Small and close to cruise terminal Noisy people sat out side at table right under my window till almost midnight
- Yuriy (9/5): It was a very pleasant short stay. Very clean small hotel. NBC - Room is a little bit too small.
- Amanda Badgett (8/5): -
- Kiley (10/5): -
- Donna (9/5): -
- Eleonora (10/5): - Very beautiful 150 years old house.the hotel is very clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
- Rice (8/5): - The room was clean and mostly comfortable. One side of the bed was against the wall and there was no room to get up in the middle of the night. We were in room 4 and if you switched the bed and the TV, there would be a liitle room on the other side. Also, it would be nice to have a staff on sight some times.
- Paszkiewicz (10/5): It was an amazing place to stay and I will stay there everytime I am traveling solo to Galveston! It also is in an amazi - It was an amazing cozy place!!! I enjoyed sitting on the porch and the view of the garden area! Top notch customer service when I was trying to figure out parking! The home is beautiful and the pictures do not do it justice. There was nothing that I didn’t like about the property! The only thing guest need to know is that you parking pass is good to park anywhere around the house, you do not have to park directly in front of the house.
- karen (9/5): Nice house - Comfortable bed, very soft towels, great smelling shampoo. Close to cruise terminal. The shower only stayed hot for about a minute in the morning (at night it was okay). There are no stores or places to eat within an easy walking distance.
- Lorrraine (3/5): I wouldn’t stay here again - Location was fair Room was tiny tiny tiny!
- Chris (6/5): Not too bad. Pretty area. - very close to cruise not close enough to food
- Susan (9/5): - The location. Very quiet. Good value
- LELAND (5/5): Handy to the docks - close to the docks where we were going to board our cruise ship. expected small rooms however, having to crawl across the bed to go to the bathroom was a pain. Also, we had a corner room and it appeared there was a security light outside both windows. Curtains were not black out curtains. So, it was bright in the room all night
- Scott (10/5): Overall, I really enjoyed my stay, this is a lovely place. Highly recommend. - This is a lovely accomodation in a quiet neighborhood, close to amenities. The rooms we had were quite small, but comfortable, with large windows, and more than adequate. Some of the rooms are larger. The overall atmosphere was very pleasant. The rooms were clean and well appointed, with a full length mirror and small desk. The fact that there was a luggage closet for us to drop our bags early was an amazing benefit, as we arrived in Galveston hours before check in. We were able to leave them onsite and spend the day exploring the area until check in.
Walking distance to the Strand, multiple historical sites, restaurants, and public transportation. A couple of things to be aware of, and a couple of small suggestions for the management.
To be aware of when booking:
1. the refrigerator is extremely small, and would not really fit a full size to go box.
2. the coffee/tea bar is a kreuger, with a solid selection of tea and coffee. however, there were no decaf options.
Suggestions for management:
1. some decaf options!
2. My room (#2) could really use a small shelf next to the bed. I do realize that the space is limited due to the sliding barn door, but something just large enough for my phone and a bottle would have been amazing. Small quibble, I know, but even just a little ledge shelf would have made all the difference.
The fact that the only things that were remotely negative are so small says a lot!
- Guy (10/5): Lovely property for an even more lovely price. - I loved staying at a historic place in Galveston. Everything was a short walk away, making my stay not only pleasant but also convenient. Nothing, everything was perfect. If I had to make a critique, the bathroom door in room 4 didn’t close completely…but my stay was a solo one—so I really didn’t care.
- Fitzgerald (10/5): -
- David (10/5): -
- Lorena (9/5): Just right! - Very well maintained, clean, and the room was very nicely done! I loved the shower with the plaster walls.
- Bianca (3/5): -
- Heather (10/5): It’s home not a hotel - Love that it is so close to the NCL pier, it’s also walking distance to walk The Strand. Beautiful home and fun to sit in the patio with coffee.
It’s enter with a cider so no real employees on duty, but owners are easy to communicate with. Rooms are small, but everything you need in there. Would stay there again!
- Johanne (10/5): -
- Bradley (10/5): Love the Stay wish it was longer - The Lotus is an awesome property. It is elegant, and quaint. The room had a comfortable bed, small sitting area, ceiling fan, heating/cooling system, and its own bathroom. The space was clean and comfortable, the surrounding neighborhood is quiet, and we felt safe parking on the street. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The contactless access to the property was extremely easy to maneuver. The property was perfect for our one-night pre-cruise stay. My sister said, it was cozy, and she really enjoyed the coffee. It is super easy to get to the property. We were pre-warned that it takes a while to get hot water in the shower, due to the age of the property. We also struggled with the water temperature remaining warm during the shower. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our stay.
- Shirl (8/5): -
- Eleonora (10/5): -
- Sylvia (6/5): Our stay at Lotus - The location was great. The water temperature was iffy.
- Myra (7/5): -
- Shalene (10/5): Unique - Location was excellent
- Urs (6/5): Es gibt bessere -
- Sharon (5/5): Happy just one night pre cruise - Close to cruise terminal Mildew
- Sharon (5/5): Happy it was one night before cruise - Smell of mildew throughout. Humidifier in room unnecessary for sure. Bed was an air mattress. Mildew
- Nikki (9/5): -
- nielsen (7/5): - Room small!!
- Astrid & Hsrvey (10/5): The mansion is most charming, like a page out of Galveston history! - The mansion itself is beautiful and historic. In a perfect location. Great communication. Just that the icemaker is of the kind where you need to make your own ice cubes. A small but important detail.
- Darryl (4/5): If you want a quaint experience, this is it. If you want room to relax, pay more for a chain hotel - Location was close to the cruise terminal It was extremely small for two people. With our luggage in the room you had no room to walk around. There isn’t a closet and just a desk chair to sit at.
- Denyne (10/5): -
- Rodela (8/5): Overall was a good experience. - Good! The sink is too small to even brush your teeth.
- Scott (8/5): Good stay at Lotus Galveston - The property was excellent as we were staying the night before our cruise it was so close to pier 16 we could see the ship from the Lotus. The room was good but not the biggest everything required for your stay was there. I bit of a mix up with entering the house as you need a PIN number but a quick call to the contact number and it was sorted
- Megan (10/5): -
- Stefan (8/5): Fantastic place, great value and even better views. - Very clean, good vibes, and fantastic view. There was a coffee machine, the room looked very cozy and welcoming, and it was way more quiet than any motel at a comparable price. Cozy, private, and conveniently located in Galveston. Sink was really small and at an awkward location, water took some time to warm up. Minor issues.
- Jonni (8/5): - The room is just a clean place to rest and sleep. Clean. Quiet. The only downside is that the building next door has a motion light that's like a floodlight into your room. Room 6. So most of the night it flicked on and flickered. Maybe room darkening curtains.
- Michael and Leann (7/5): All was good for a short stay pre cruise - Good location Very small room
High humidity
- Yoke Chee Vicky (10/5): Excellent location. Friendly staff. - Excellent location Nothing.
Everything ok.
- Andreas (7/5): For cruisers perfect - Perfect for my needs 😊 close to cruise terminals of Carnival, MSC and Royal Caribbean by 20 min walk. Coffee and Teas self serving. Old renovated house with character. Heating mode of AC not working 😕 it was a bit cool
- Joan (10/5): Loved it, tiny room but very nice - Location was just 4 blocks to the Mexican restaurant. It was quiet, secure and reasonably priced Not a thing
- William (10/5): -
- April (7/5): Antique, cozy, contemporary. - Property is a piece of unrecognized Galveston historical architecture, with contemporary bathrooms, mini kitchen, and decorum. Accents of the past with crystal chandeliers.
TV hooked to WiFi, easy to watch everything, on almost any program that you’re subscribed. Very romantic, cozy and affordable whether you’re alone or with your partner.
The location is amazing, you can walk to restaurants, explore the architecture of the neighborhood, and get to the strand. It’s about a 20 min walk to the Seawall and 5 min drive, I wouldn’t recommend walking. This is definitely a great place to stay.
The staff are friendly, polite and welcoming. The mini kitchen is stocked with coffee and creamers, there’s an ice machine, mini fridge etc.
This stay is exactly what is advertised without surprises. The bed had a soft impression/dent on one side; and was lumpy and too soft for my husband who weighs 230lbs. I believe it would be ok for one person for better weight distribution on the bed. A firmer mattress, or a solo trip would’ve made this a 10/10. We will definitely come back and also look for any rooms that may have a firmer, king bed.
- Chrystine (7/5): - You are renting a room in a house, not like a hotel room. The room is super cozy and the bed is perfect. There's a common area where you share the refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. I thought that was odd, but it ended up being okay. If you enjoy long hot showers, this is not going to be your spot. I waited about 10 minutes for hot water and then started to bathe and had to wait another 10 to wash the soap off because the water was freezing. That is stated in the description of the room. There is a coat/hat rack that you can hang your clothes on, no closets. There is no counter space in the bathroom. It's a sink & a toilet and a shower. I thought it was super appropriate, minus the shower, for my stay by myself in Galveston. I want to come here again, but the shower situation might be an issue. If you are coming to Galveston alone, it's a great spot. If you are coming with someone, one of you is going to have to roll out of the bed. 🤣 Shower situation
- Charlotte (8/5): Excellent location for cruise terminal - Perfect for cruise terminal
- DelValle (9/5): - Cute hotel No hot water
- Dean (7/5): Served the purpose. One night stay. - Location. Small room.
- Diane (8/5): Quiet, cozy place. - Location was good. Employees were friendly and helpful. Room was a bit smaller than we thought. Would have been nice to have an extra trash can by the desk and a small lamp on the desk would be nice as well. Otherwise, we did enjoy our stay. For one night it was pleasant.
- Pat (8/5): Good value, clean, beautiful historical house and convenient to wharf. - Beautiful old house, clean, quiet, convenient, reasonably priced. The bed was against the wall which made it difficult to get out of it during the night for the person on the wall side.
- David (10/5): -
- David (7/5): Only one night and best described as ‘functional’. - Convenient and well maintained The size of the rooms,
- Teena (10/5): - Everything, quaint and personal, good TV channels, ice, water, attendant on duty till 5, location, cleanliness, walk in shower, extra blankets, great cooling and heating No hot chocolate
- Paul (9/5): Nice room and great location. - Very nice accommodations with everything we needed. Staff was helpful and room was clean. We would stay again. Due to the cold snap the mini split wasn't giving adequate heat. We were thankful for a tiny electric heater or it would have been freezing. The hallway and floors were cold but we did okay.
- Christine (10/5): Loved the location and the room was very clean - The distance to The Strand was great The sink in the room was a bit small
- Gwen (9/5): - Op loopafstand van ncl cruise terminal Het weer
- Amy (8/5): Handy for cruisers - Very handy for the cruise port. Nice coffee machine We were quite cold - couldn't get the heat to work properly
- Erin (8/5): -
- Evan (8/5): A nice room in a beautiful old home that is well kept. - We didn't have breakfast-I can't remember if it was an option. Coffee was good, though.
The room was cute, quiet, and the bed was great! Nothing-it was a perfect budget stay.
- Cynthia (6/5): We will be staying again on March 22 ed - I have always loved the property have recommended but on this date I ask for 2 twins if available. The room they gave us the bed was up against the wall . We were 2 - 70’ year young females we had to climb over eachother that was very uncomfortable. Any other time we have stayed we have been very happy this was her first time.
- Jason (10/5): - Property was clean and easy to access.
- Anthony (4/5): OK but wouldn't do it again - Spotty address and hard to find Too small for the amount of money paid for.
- James (1/5): Disaster - The key code locking system was a disaster and left me stranded on the front porch for an hour at midnight. Key code did not work. Had to call the person and leave multiple messages on a message machine before they Got it working.
- Yolanda (4/5): -
- Erin (8/5): Short but sweet. I stayed with my mom before we left on a cruise. - Loved the historic feel. The room was small for two people but for an overnight it was ok
- Chelsea (10/5): -
- Rebecca (6/5): good value for a clean, safe (and small) place to sleep, close to cruise ports and the Strand - We were in town for a cruise and the property was conveniently located to the cruise port as well as the Strand. We had some issues operating the heater in the room. The remote was not intuitive (to us) so we were very cold during our stay. Recommend to management leaving an instruction card for heater remote. Also, the room is very small. If you just need a clean/safe place to sleep, this is a good option. If you plan on staying in your room for more, this might not be the place for you.
- Thomas (4/5): Good for one night. - Nice location Sheets smelled like bleach. Inconsistent hot water.
- Tony (10/5): -
- Shelia (7/5): - TV did not work.
Water in the shower would turn cold while showering
- Juan (8/5): -
- Taylor (10/5): Amazing short term stay in an ideal spot in gavleston - The staff was super friendly. She was very helpful in allowing us to check in early and helpful when we needed extra toiletries. Nothing I can think of.
- Sergio (10/5): Great - Maybe a sheet in bed and not just comforter. Other than that 10 out of 10.
- William (10/5): -
- Destiny (8/5): Decent for the price - The rooms very cute. The neighborhood was quiet. The rooms are too small for two people, and there wasn't enough hot water for one person to take a shower.
The sink was tiny, half the size of a regular bathroom sink, and did not drain. The booking process was easy, but you must go to a website a day or two before check-in, and that was not possible for us because we were on a cruise ship and did not have internet access. It is a pretty lengthy process, so it just delays you from getting your room code. Check-in is not until 4pm and check out is 10am which is not convieient times.
- Misty (7/5): -
- Dylan (9/5): -
- Mellisa (7/5): Quick 1-night stay prior to our cruise. - Good price for the location. Rooms and beds were very small.
- Mike (7/5): Quite little room we used for a pre-cruise stay -
- Todd (8/5): -
- Charla (1/5): Would not recomend staying there to anyone. - Nothing It was like living in a closet. Extremely small. Shocking.
We arrived late in the evening, too tired to find another hotel. Spent one night and couldn’t get out of there fast enough early the next morning.
- Robert (8/5): -
- Sam Merritt (8/5): - The location was GREAT. The host responded quickly with questions. The room was very small, and not enough room to get out of the bed from both sides if you had 2 people in the room. This one one of the smaller rooms in the house. The room smelled like wet dog.
- Jonathan (10/5): Beautiful, cozy, cold rooms, and super comfy beds all for a very wonderful price and great location! - This property was 5 minutes away from the Port of Galveston, which made getting to our cruise ship the next morning, extremely easy. The rooms were super cozy very clean and I love the dorm feel of the whole house. The AC got super cold. If you wanted it to be. I love that every room had its own pass key code and it matched the entry key code so you didn’t have to memorize two different codes. The decorations were minimal and beautiful. The coffee bar was well fought out and very appreciated. 10 out of 10 stay and would definitely stay here again. The value for money is 100% worth it. I did not like that the address and the name of the building was not clearly visible after arriving there late at night from a long drive. It would’ve been nice to see a larger sign stating that that was the Lotus, or to see clearer address numbers more centered near the door that was lit.
- Wendy (10/5): A Good Night at the Lotus - The space was nice, clean, and cozy. The bathroom and sink were a bit small, but given that it’s an older home that has been remodeled, it was perfectly suitable for my needs. The bed was very comfortable, the linens were nice, and both the ceiling fan and air conditioning worked great I honestly didn’t have any complaints. For one person, the room was perfectly fine and met my needs. However, if two people were staying in the room, it might feel a bit crowded, as the bed takes up most of the space and there is a small table. It was more than sufficient for me as a solo traveler, but I would recommend choosing one of the larger rooms if more than one person is staying.
- Joarez (8/5): -
- Marck_77 (9/5): - Very close to MSC cruise pier, you can walk directly there. Super easy remote checkin process.
- Robert (8/5): Gr8 Price for Gr8 Location - Location is perfect for cruise. Prices are really affordable. Doors are very, very heavy. My mom is 85 and couldn’t open them herself. Hot water takes long time to get to shower/sink. Had to place a few shirts under mattress to fill in the sunken spot
- Susan (10/5): -
- Haines (8/5): - Room too small
- Barbara (10/5): Excellent location - Location excellent
- Chloe (9/5): good :) would stay again - pretty, comfy bed small sink, loud hallways
- Rachael (10/5): -
