Guest Reviews
- Morgan (8/5): -
- RolyRatty (6/5): cheap but difficult for elderly or those with mobility issues. - off road parking. low price, we stayed a couple of nights whilst visiting relatives and looking for a caravan locally. We did book 3 nights but decided to leave early as we weren't all that comfortable. Nothing specifically wrong, just a very old terraced house. this is a very old terrace house so it comes with all the quirks you would expect. the stairs are very, very steep and the bathroom is quite a challenge. I'm not skinny so using the shower was difficult. someone elderly, very large or with mobility issues would really struggle.
- Mark (10/5): - Very comfortable Very squeaky floorboards outside the bathroom woke people up!
- David (8/5): -
- Cara (8/5): - Host was helpful and communicative. Great value for money. Shower works well but could prove a tight fit for some.
- Ian (8/5): - Nice spacious 2 bed house, everything you needed and handy having a long drive to park the car round the back. Corner shop just over the road if you need any milk etc…. It’s a bit tatty and run down but for £55 it was an absolute bargain. You would Happily pay more for it if it gets an update
- Pierre Le Brun (8/5): Nice cottage close to chesterfield,, Sheffield and the Derbyshire countryside - Excellent small cottage the location was great for me, as it was close to family, I only stayed for one night, everything was ready for us🙂 Shower was bit small, quite tight, but with great water pressure
- Sharman (10/5): - Good area. There's plenty of things close by to do. Great little cottage to stay in
- Sharman (10/5): - The owners lovely, the place is great and very comfortable. I highly recommend it

- Jaybjuuu (10/5): Great little cottage, great price and lovely experience throughout - Cosy, clean, and in a quiet location. The cottage was comfortable and well maintained, and the staff were easy to communicate with which made the stay completely stress-free. Nothing to dislike
- angela (10/5): Great host, great property - Clean, well equipped and great value for money
- John william (8/5): -
- Tim (9/5): The property was very good value for money, the owners were very good on communication. I would recommend this to anybod - Location and over all set up was ideal for me and my children NA

- Jeff (10/5): - Location was good, near to langwith where we just bought a house, comfortable stay, well equipped cottage Nothing to complain about but we couldn't light the oven ( maybe it was us )
- Kevin (8/5): - We stayed at the cottage for 4 nights should only have been for 2 but we were having some work carried out at our home so we had no heating water or bathroom facilities ' we only live 10 mins from the cottage which was ideal and even less to have to travel to work ' the cottage was clean warm had all the facilities we needed ' got a reply of the owner Sarah within 15/ 20 mins which was excellent ' off road parking for both of our cars was good as well the chineese takeaway across the was very handy and was the mimi supermarket next door ' the only negative was the shower sorry but it was way way way to small even for my wife who is much smaller than me ' we ended up go to a friend's house who only lived 5 min drive away and having a shower every night it's ideal for a child but no where near big enough for any adult ' apart from the shower problem the cottage is perfect The shower is way way to small OK for child yes but sorry not big enough for a adult
- Lesley (8/5): - Affordable accommodations close to family and obligations As noted, small shower stall. There was a leak in the plumbing, through the ceiling and into the kitchen. The host sent someone the same day to look at it and make a temporary repair.
- Gems Tangles (10/5): The comfiest bed! Clean and cute! Will be back xx - Clean and easy to find.
Parking right outside

- Emma (10/5): We had a really nice stay and also the host is so lovely, would definitely return, - Lovely house had everything we needed
- Danielle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Place (8/5): Very good - Really clean and in a very quiet area The shower cubicle was abit small but wasn't a major issue
- David (10/5): Enjoyed our stay, enabled a visit to see family which we will remember. Excellent communication. Thank you - Great price for what we wanted and comfortable. Small shower but still functional. Lack of mirrors.
- Sarah (9/5): Superb - convenient location near friends and area we wanted to visit for business purposes. Also very reasonable price. Small shower but appreciate there was limited space.
- Vijay (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wendy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Grace (9/5): Excellent stay! - The house was perfect for what we needed. It was clean and comfortable, and great value for money. I really liked the location. Very peaceful. Our stay was great. One bit of feedback was that as a family of 4 it was a little hard to get comfy in the front room as there was only one sofa -but not really an issue, only when you have children who love a reason to argue!
- Mary (8/5): Just what we needed - Although on a busy road, the house is very quiet with the windows shut, very convenient for accessing the M1, everything we needed was there, a clean and comfortable stay thank you. It was very cold on arrival but once we put the CH on it fairly quickly warmed up from 12 degrees.
- Rachel (6/5): Pleasant - Gorgeous views
Good size rooms
Good communication from property Bathroom is definitely bisjou! Could feel the springs in the bed mattress. If plug in air freshener was turned off (as it was quite strong) it smelt of wet dog
- Kyprianou (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stephen (4/5): Cheap but for a reason. - It was a large property for the price The shower was ridiculously small, you could stand and wash in the shower, the shower was also the wrong sort for such a small enclosure meaning I kept knocking the handle and turning it up as I was trying to move in the tiniest enclosure I’ve ever seen. I’m a plumber as well so that says something.
The main bed was also awful, the mattress should have been replaced several years ago, the springs were digging in as you led on it, I ended up ditching the main bedroom and sleeping in the smaller room at the back.
- Yusufu (10/5): Brilliant location and good value for money - The location was excellent, accommodation was superb and good value for money Accommodation was close to Chesterfield and Sheffield.
- Hannah (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (8/5): Homely little place , great location - Very good location, clean, comfortable beds , surprisingly quiet being on main road, would go again…..Excellent value for what we got …Sarah was easy to contact and communicate with 🤓
- Natalie (5/5): Nice little 2 up 2 down House. - The beds and sheets/duvet covers were all nice and clean. Lovely large kitchen.
Ideal for the local shop just over the road, Chinese takeaway, and just eat orders. Also a working mens club over the road.
The neighbour was lovley and friendly.
Nice to have a smart TV to access stuff you watch at home, etc. The lounge smelt beautiful and was clean. Lovely big kitchen to be ale to prep food with a table and 4 chairs.
More toilet rolls are left in a little basket under the sink in the bathroom along with shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel.
There are plenty of books for kids, along with a cot bed and highchair if you have younger children.
There was a little table outside with 3 chairs and a small BBQ.
I do like to leave the properties how I find them.
Communication from the host was good. I do like an easy check-in, so I received the key code before my arrival at 3pm.
Tea, coffee, and sugar were all provided along with washing up liquid, kitchen roll, scourer, cloth, and tea towel.
There was plenty of hanging space in the bedrooms to hang clothes.
Was great having a toaster, microwave, and an oven.
Also, to have a washer, washing line, and pegs to hang clothes out was great, though I took my own washing liquid and softener. I really dont like to pick faults out of any stay i have, as its very nice of these people to let their properties out at all to anyone. But just a few things i noticed during my stay:
The floor boards upstairs were very creaky, so if people are sleeping and you need the bathroom, you will definitely wake them up.
The stairs are very steep (my son fell down them after explaining to be extra careful with the steepness).
The sofa bed was very small and just felt like you were sleeping on the floor.
With it being an older building, you really struggle for plug sockets for charging multiple things, so I would definitely suggest taking an extension lead.
The shower is very tiny, so if you happen to be a little bigger, you will definitely struggle.
The towels are also a struggle with not being bath sheets and are also very old towels.
In the kitchen, there is such a tiny fridge/freezer for a kitchen that size. We could hardly get anything in it.
The area out the back was a little untidy and could do with a little TLC.
Could do with something telling you what goes in which wheelie bins when you're not from the area, I wasn't sure I was putting the correct things in the right bins.
There was a white porcelain ovenproof dish that was yellow with grease/oil, and after wiping my finger across it, my finger was covered in it.
The tap in the kitchen was hard to turn and dented.
There were only 2 usable forks in the draw, and only 2 usable tea spoons along with 2 tiny spoons which baby egg spoons?
Some of the cups in the cupboard were cute but all stained.
Could perhaps do with a little modernisation though not really essential.
- Martin_brannelly (9/5): Stylish old cottage with great hosts, WIFI and Sky TV - Lovely minimalist design yet everything you need with lots of nice finishing touches a real find in the height of summer for the weekend the kids loved it many thanks The outdoor space isn't enclosed and it's a shared space with next door having access they are nice people but we are not the most social of people hehe and like to have a defined space for the kids not that it was a problem really just have to think of something i didn't like hehe
- Whittaker (7/5): Good - Handy location, good size property, strong water pressure in the shower. Owner responds very fast and there to help with any issues. Shower cubicle is so so small, I'm a slim person and could barely bend a knee to wash my legs. Mattress on the king bed needs upgrading, very uncomfortable, what I call a banana bed, you sink right down into it. Property was clean but cobwebs everywhere on ceilings and especially the top of the light pull in the main room, just needs the cleaner to go round with a duster as it looks like it's not been done in months. Property simple but to be expected for the price and size. Driveway and outside needs maintenance, hard to get the family out of thr car for all the weeds.
- Anne (9/5): Excellent and will stay again. - Key safe - so no worrying about meeting someone to get access.
Everything you could possibly want was provided, even washing machine powder, tea, coffee, soap, towels. It was a very spacious property. Large kitchen - plenty big enough to eat in. Two decent sized bedrooms. Little patio area. Having its own driveway to park in was great - and was one of our essential requirements. We didn't actually cook as we ate out in local garden centres or got a takeaway from the Chinese opposite. Corner shop opposite as well - all very friendly people. Neighbours were lovely and we introduced ourselves on the first day. As people had said the shower was particularly small - but we knew this when we booked. It was fine for us, but is only about 2 foot - so smaller than most showers. The stairs are also quite steep as it is an old cottage - but fine for us.
- Cheryl (8/5): Very good -
- Gaz (10/5): Ideal for a quick break - Just what we needed for a couple of days stay .
- Mir (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (8/5): Very good - Shower cubicle was very small
- Christina (8/5): We had a great stay whilst we moved houses, the neighbours were very helpful and so was the host. - The location was very good lovely views, and a great property, lots of room and a bonus to park on site perhaps a larger shower cubicle
- Becca (8/5): On the whole a pleasant place - Lovely views
Spacious rooms
Nice touch of fresh daffodils in vases
Comfy beds Husband found shower extremely difficult as he is quite large and shower is extra small and I also struggled with it
No room to turn around and he dropped soap and couldn’t pick it up in the tiny cubicle
Stairs quite steep for us almost 60 year olds
- Katie (9/5): Superb -
- Karen (8/5): Good value stay and attentive host - Good value and nice to have space for the whole family versus sharing one room in a hotel.
- Samantha (8/5): Very good -
- White (9/5): Superb -
- Stewart (10/5): Exceptional - Clean ,comfortable, good location
- Clare (7/5): It was adequate for our needs - Location Nothing
- David (8/5): Very good - Great location for our visit to the area.
- Filomena (7/5): Good for a cheap night en route - Cheap and convenient Location
- Justin (8/5): Very good - Amazing value for money with a true feel of a home from home, would definitely stay again.
Easy check in and all the facilities you could wish for. N/A
- Khine (8/5): comfortable - Peace and quiet Very little power plug points.
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional - Was very clean n tidy could not complain neighbours were nice also why had our stay we enjoyed it n defo be booking again also owner come with fresh bedding and a new mattress so was so happy n pleased None happy with all of it
