• Gillian (10/5): - 14 girls booked in for a birthday party , we had a great nite loved the space in and around the house ,hot tub and party room had an additional fee but one that we were more than happy to pay. We are lookingnforward to booking again we just need an excuse There was only 1 minor detail the bath in the downstairs bathroom needs to be looked at. This is no biggie and didnt affect our stay at the property

• Siofra (10/5): A perfect venue for any kind of private event! - We had a hen party of 16 women and everyone was blown away! Many large beautiful bedrooms, an amazing karaoke/games room, wonderful dining area. The kitchen was fantastic for entertaining too! A little difficult to find on Google maps

• Niamh (10/5): Great for a family getaway! - Just back from a fabulous stay at Annsborough House. It exceeded our expectations. Michael, the host met us on arrival and explained how various facilities worked . The house was clean and comfortable and the facilities were fantastic. Especially the hot tub and disco room which was enjoyed by kids and adults alike. Location was ideal for visiting lots of local attractions. Plenty of space in this house, with 9 bedrooms (3 with double beds!). We'd love to go back someday. Some of the house needs a bit of TLC i.e. a towel rail fell away from the wall very easily and taps were a bit loose, but this didn't take away from our enjoyment of staying in this lovely big house.

• Lauren (6/5): Disappointed - The house was clean Hot tub was lovely Some of the pictures displayed were outdated. The swings area is unsafe (ground not even)- one picture of the side of the house the wood is being held up by a rope again very unsafe. Garden area very untidy Bath/shower in one of the rooms was all broke Door knobs off in loads of the rooms. Disco room- projector didn’t work for us Karaoke machine not working- I had to use my own microphones. Some of the hobs are not working The price of the place was far too expensive for the way the place has been left- needs a lot of TLC Would have been nice to be left with maybe some shower gel etc especially for the price we paid for two nights
• Aoife (6/5): Disappointing :-( - This house is located in the town of Castlewellan, which is home to a fabulous park with a maze and a beautiful lake. It's also a 10 minute drive from Tollymore Forest park which was also spectacular and a must-see! We were a large family group of all ages, including some very small children. I have to say that, in its current state, this house is just not suitable for children. There are just too many hazards. A curtain and pole fell on one child in our party. Separately, another child stepped on glass in one of the bedrooms. Another incident saw a kitchen chair collapse under a 5 year old. The garden is treacherous for kids, despite the outdoor toys provided. It would possibly suit an adult gathering, but it's worth noting that door locks are an issue (e.g. only one of the 3 bathrooms was lockable). We are a little perplexed by the previous 5* reviews. However, if this house was painted and renovated, it would be a great spot.
• Fiona (10/5): Exceptional - An amazing place to stay to celebrate a family birthday. Such a beautiful property for our reunion, with stunning communal spaces downstairs for everyone to gather together. The main reception room has plenty of seating and is equipped with a fully functioning TV. The kitchen is well stocked with everything required to cater for a large group, with a dining room to use to enjoy meals in a gorgeous setting. The bedrooms are fabulous, and decorated perfectly to make our stay feel even more special. The location was excellent too, and perfect for outdoor activities for all the mixed ages of the group. The youngest ones explored the local Castlewellan area and lake, forest, playground and Peace Maze, while more accomplished hikers took advantage of the close proximity to the Mourne Mountains. The house is also just ten minute drive to the charming coastal town of Newcastle, and there are ample shops nearby. Michael was a great host, and on hand from the start to get us set up and offer advice on local area. He really went above and beyond to accommodate us and we can't thank him enough for his help in making this a memorable trip for us all. We couldn't recommend Annsborough House more.
