- Tanja (7/5): Tranquil, centrally located base camp to explore the midlands from. - Location is very quiet and relaxing. It's close to the main road so very short amount of travel on dirt road. The hosts were wonderful and communication was prompt. The fenced-in chalet allowed us to leave our door open so our dog could move in and out without issues. The Fireplace was a life saver the first night that we arrived as it was FREEZING. Wood was provided at no extra charge. We didn't realise that there were stairs. The stairs were a little higher than normal so going up and down them was uncomfortable for us. This wouldn't be a problem for younger, more active people, but we are professional couch potatoes, so the stairs was an unexpected surprise.
- SHAHEEN (10/5): - The location is stunning with access to the Lion River. The railway crossing to the property is just stunning and its accessibility to all the great Midlands spots is super. zip.
- Hannelie (10/5): Awesome - The freedom in the nature, the animals on the farm. The cleanliness of the facility and the willingness to help with anything of the owner. The cold weather. but the facilities made up for the cold with the inside fire place.
- Robert (10/5): Wonderful - Very clean and neat. Friendly and helpful host!
- Helen (9/5): Will be back! - Convenient location with flexible hosts who communicated well
- Jesse (10/5): Exceptional -
- Martin (8/5): Very good -
- Diane (10/5): We felt right at home - Such a wide range of experiences in a relatively small area . 2 welcoming Jack Russels, lovely fuzzy young cattle and buck in the field as you walk to the river. Some sheep and donkeys in another field.
- Jenny (8/5): Very good - Very neat and clean
- Marais (8/5): Very good -
- Reed (8/5): Lovely farm stay - Quiet, but close enough to all the main attractions. Lovely farm stay, hosts friendly and welcoming.
- Tali (10/5): Comfortable, spacious and peaceful stay in the country - Beautiful apartment, perfect place to spend a rainy afternoon, great location, plus super cute Jack Russell terriers who visited us lots Liked everything
- Tomas (10/5): Exceptional - Very convenient location with lovely views over the valley. Comfortable little cottage with all amenities we needed for a one night stay. A ceiling fan or aircon would be highly advised. We stayed over a very warm night, and the provided floor standing fan sounded like a jet engine even on the lowest setting, so we couldn't use it and keep the baby asleep. So we were absolutely destroyed by mosquitoes and didn't sleep well in the heat.
- Marjorie-anne (8/5): Wonderful friendly hosts but the weather made it very hot and the cottage did not have air-conditioning. - Wonderful hosts, very clean and comfortable. It was very very hot so the portable fans were not enough to keep us cool. Air conditioning may be the answer.
- Katherine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Thrishni (10/5): Excellent location and facilities, excellent host - It's a beautiful farm, and we stayed in a well-equipped, well-maintained cottage. There is a fireplace indoors and ample wood supplied. The kitchen is well-appointed with a stove that accomodates gas and electricity, fairly large fridge and a microwave. The beds were comfortable, with extra blankets provided. All very clean and comfortable.
There is a walking trail that leads down to the river, where you will meet buck and some very friendly donkeys. It is situated close enough to amenities and attractions (Nelson Mandela Capture Site, Piggly Wiggly, restaurants and shops) to be convenient, but still feels remote and peaceful. Google Maps led us off the N3 from Johannesburg over a long dirt road in Lion's River to get to Dargle (where Riverstone Farm is located). This is a Google Maps issue. It is possible to get to Riverstone Farm from the N3 on tarred roads all the way.
- Jenna (9/5): Comfortable cosy farm cottage stay. - Host communicated with us before arrival and met us at the gate - showed us around, got an extra set of keys for our friends and was friendly and acccommodating. Nothing - it was great.
- Robyn (8/5): Friendly hosts, clean and great setting - Lovely clean space, great setting A lock box for keys would be great so we don’t have to trouble you to get in and out.
Electric blankets and some more rugs to warm it up a bit
- Vittoria (9/5): We had all we needed for a one night stay. I don’t think I would stay for longer. - Privacy, fireplace, Netflix, extra blankets A bit too far from michaelhouse and Nottingham road, not much to do nearby. Cottage is very cold inside.
- Anniegjacko (8/5): Stay in ideal location - Ideal location, with beautiful views, far enough away from the hustle and bustle, but close enough to make accessing the local amentities easy. The unit was a good size, both the living area and bedrooms, with a lovely little enclosed garden area Lack of some basics, but as it is new you can understand that they're still finding their feet.
Second bedroom had no cupboard or chest of drawers for clothes and very few dustbins throughout.
- Helen (10/5): Hosts were so accommodating it was a lovey stay and we will be back - Clean and with everything you need
- Travis (8/5): Great escape from city living, cozy - Great environment, fairly brand new location it seems. Nice and quiet. Friendly host. Everything was as good as it gets for 1 day stay.
