Louis was friendly ,responsive and helpful.
The yard was well kept
The house was neat and tidy
Nice quaint town. Needs an upgrade. At minimum if natural lighting and kitchen and bathroom can be upgraded will be a bonus.
Lots of roaches.

- Eurika (6/5): Gariep over night stay - Pet friendly, our dog could walk aroynd in the yard. Clean house with clean linen, bath towels. Nice fridge to keep drinks and snacks cold. For an overnight stay acceptable. Bathroom needs a lot of attention, especially shower. Water all over floor when having a shower.
- Victor (8/5): Was value for money. Weather was hot but the A/C worked and made stay comfortable - Reminded me of childhood homestead experiences Need to fumigate the kitchen
- Colette (8/5): -
- Gordon (4/5): Unpleasant dark house, not a glimpse of the dam - No The house and the location
- Barbie (9/5): - Comfortable, homely accommodation

- JACKI (8/5): -
- Ruth (5/5): -
- Johan (7/5): -
- Jonas (8/5): Very satisfying. - Very reasonably priced for a 3 bedroomed house.
The owner Louis was extremely helpful & patient, as we arrived nearly 2.5 hours later than anticipated. Cannot say, stayed only 1 night
- Paola (9/5): Perfect mid travel overnight staying on my way to a cat show in Joburg - Safe and quiet location, big space inside , well equipped A bit of dust but nothing so bad
- Rob (10/5): My new go-to spot in Gariep! - Great amenities, comfortable bed, nice and clean.
This will be my go-to place in future.
Security is good as well.
The owner came to meet and greet and we had a pleasant chat as well. I wish the cat that came to visit would have come closer to us, but then again, perhaps it was taught to not talk to strangers :-)
There is nothing to have not liked about this place.

- Elna (8/5): A Restful Stopover - We needed a place to stay overnight on our trip to Cape Toen and found Bets Guest house on Booking.com. It looked appealing based on the photos and positive reviews-and we booked it.
Our host was friendly and met us at the house. (At first, we were a little bit lost because we were looking for a board stating Bets Guesthouse- but we were at the right place) He also gave helpful information about food options.
The house itself was clean, neat, and comfortable. It had everything we needed for a restful stopover. We truly enjoyed our stay and would recommend Bets Giesthouse for anyone passing through Gariep.
- Horne (5/5): Stay was adequate - No milk and sugar
- Quinton (9/5): Lovely stay. - Comfortable and quiet stay. Large garden. Great host checked us in and let us know about restaurants. Convenient placement. Safe and secure. Could do with a bit of a dust, but nothing bad to say.
- Grant (8/5): Very good -
- Mike (6/5): Left us refreshed and ready for the last push home ;-) -
- Richard (9/5): Perfect for family accommodation and a reasonable price - The cottage was well appointed and a family could easily stay there for an extended period at an affordable cost. The facilities are excellent and the outside entertainment ares are brilliant. No wifi and a bit confusing (location) when first arriving. Although the host met us at a shopping centre and we followed him to the cottage. The roads in that area are a bit confusing at first but we eventually got to know our way out of the suburb.
- Anette (7/5): Gariep one night stay - Our host allowed us to move the date of our stay to 2 weeks later as late as the evening of our booking because we encountered lots of rain and poor visibility on the road. I can't complain, comfortable overnight stay end value for money
- Jaco (10/5): Exceptional -

- Asanda (9/5): Excellent - It's a remote location , friendly and considerate manager Nothing
- Ben (1/5): Bad -
- Allan (10/5): will return - Aircons need to be looked at as 2 where not working
- Coetzer (7/5): Comfortable - The place was clean and all the amenities were there, even if on the old side.
The proprietor was efficient, but didn't explain how one can have the fan going without having the light on. As other reviewers have already said, the gate to the property is a mess and not secure at all. People will keep on saying this and probably put people off staying there, but a bit of simple fixing for extra peace of mind will go a long way to ensure full occupancy!
- Iain (5/5): Good value for money if you need 2 or more bedrooms to lay your heads, but it's very basic. - The location is good for a traveling stopover, and for the size it's very affordable. It's definitely very basic - don't expect milk in the fridge or other comforts.
- Heidi (8/5): Very good -
- Markg (4/5): Ok but place needs maintenance and an upgrade, - Place is neglected. Furnishings are old fashioned. Decor is miss matched. Place needs some TLC and painting. No signboard for the property. Shower needs to be cleaned out, with a new shower door as well!
- Grant (9/5): Superb -
- Meyer (6/5): Pleasant - Fine to sleep over for 1 night.
Facility clean.
Value for money Entrance gate for car parking needs attention.
The erf is not properly fenced for a small dog.

- Gretha (8/5): Very good - Shower
- Liana (8/5): Very good - Spacious, plain and simple, perfect for a midway stop-over between CPT and JHB. What made the place great for me was the freedom my dogs had - a big garden, enclosed. Not that it was a problem for me, but there was no WiFi.

- Belinda (6/5): Pleasant - The bedding in the main bedroom smelled of cigarettes. I think it was probably the actual duvet and/or pillows rather than the bed linen.
Also, the cloth on the kitchen table was very dirty.
Otherwise, everything was fine and comfortable and it was safe for my dogs. Thank you for the warm welcome.
