• Shireen (9/5): - Absolutely loved the décor and attention to detail in the unit. The cozy fireplace and incredibly comfortable bed made it even better. Great loft setup for the boys, and perfectly located close to the town center. Would definitely go again! All was superb.

It smelled strongly of dampness. It was rainy and the floor got flooded and was difficult to dry it up. When it's cold, the heater is not enough. Unstable Wifi.

• Jackie (1/5): - Do not booked a stay at this guesthouse. The whole room smells like mold and the ceiling covered with black mold. Unbearable to stay or sleep in the room. The room was checked by caretaker before our check in yet she "did not smell anything bad or see all the toxic mold on the ceiling" Owner refused to refund a portion of they payment and suggested that we move accommodation which was not possible as we were at a wedding and could not pack up and check in at another place at 14h00 the next day. The owner was adamant she won't compensate us for the inconvenience and discomfort, not to mention that the owner advised us that the mold is "not that bad" the place is severely contaminated and peeling plaster outside shows a severe damp issue that is not a healthy environment to be in. The smell forced us to sleep with open windows and door when it was cool temperatures outside. The owner wanted to come and wipe the black mold from the ceiling, but that is just the surface, and can't understand that the whole ceiling is rotten and needs to be replaced. Poor accommodation, the toilet and plumbing also noisy and every sound from neighbours can be heard. Lack of empathy from owner has forced me to approach legal advise and also local municipality to inspect the black mold as it can cause serious health issues. This guesthouse should be shut down till the mold has been treated and ceiling replaced. Shocking attitude from owner. Refusing compensation for the absolutely horrendous stay. The lock box access to the key is also great, means we can drive through after work on a Friday in the future as we dint have to check in at a specific time. Really awesome place 😊

It is in a peaceful location yet close to all the amenities needed. I will definitely be coming back. The host was kind, helpful and overall service is amazing The only disadvantage was not having a stove 😅

• Ruan (4/5): Bad WiFi, noisy neighbours and mild bath water brings the ratings down. - The room and bathroom were very stylish. It was very clean. The bed is comfortable. The shower was hot enough. I was very excited to see a TV. I was excited to watch some rugby but there is no DSTV, but that is no issue, I can just connect the tv to the WiFi. I could not stream anything on the TV due to the weak wireless signal. We could only manage to connect to the WiFi extenders. I recommend visiting firmlinx.co.za and get a quote on a site assessment to install access points instead of extenders. My wife complained that the bath water is mild and does not tap hot enough. The neighbours can also be heard easily. Luckily we did not have too loud neighbours. If we had a different group then sleeping would have been hard.

You can also braai indoors at the allocated space and there us an iron at your disposal. You also get wood for the fireplace. In the Loft, there is no mop, no stove and only one pot.
• Shabangu (5/5): Cold shower brrrrrrr - Beautiful space, clean and modern. The Loft could have a bigger fridge to accommodate a full self catering especially for more than 2 people. The water was so cold from Sat to Sunday. We couldn't shower nicely with warm water and it was a chilly Sat evening after a long hike and all you need was a hot shower. Not sure if it's because we share the same geyser with all the other guest or what but that was not pleasant at all. Otherwise it's a good spot

Beautiful finishes, comfortable beds and couches, a big open plan kitchen, a fireplace plus a braai room! What a fantastic place to stay in when visiting Dullstroom. Would highly recommend to anyone!

• Xaba (6/5): Great location but not a comfortable stay at all - especially in winter! - Breakfast was not part of the package - we were in a self catering apartment. Our 3 nights stay was in the middle of winter and the area is called Emakhazeni, which signifies that it's very cold. Oh my, we froze to death, the bed had no electric blanket - and the room was freezing. The host had kindly left two hot water bottles on the bed and there was a small fan heater which really didn't make much of a difference. Moreover, we found the apartment very small for two adults, it's ideal for a business trip and not for leisure. Unfortunately the Wifi was also intermittent, which we communicated to the host who responded by sending us a notification of an internet connectivity outage in the area and never followed up the next day to check if there had been improvements. Overall, we enjoyed the beautiful town of Dullstroom, the local restaurants and the waffles!

• Jacques (10/5): I had a great experience with this property on our trip to Dullstroom. - Everything was there as advertised. It was super clean and had an awesome stay. The staff was super friendly and great to deal with; I gave them a call the day before to ask some questions and they were very accommodating. The instructions from the staff was clear and had no problems on arrival and for the duration of our stay. Would highly recommend and would definitely return on our next trip to Dullstroom! I had no problems with the property at all.

The bathroom was beautiful - huge bath and there was good hot water pressure in the shower. The tiny fan heater was not adequate for a very cold Dullstroom night (-1 degrees in the morning!). An oil panel heater would have been more effective. There was no wine corkscrew wine... an essential item in any self-catering unit ;-)

• Pamela (8/5): A beautiful stay but beware the Loft is not 2 bedrooms - The home was very beautiful with lots of thought into extra touches. The enclosed braai area was perfect for a group of friends and the fireplace made for a cozy lounge. The kitchen was well equipped and everything that we could need was there. The Loft is advertised as "two separate bedrooms". This is absolutely not the case. The second "bedroom" is on a platform above the first. So its fine for a couple with two kids. But not for two couples.. The second couple needs to walk past the bed of the first to get to the stairs and also past the bed to go to the bathroom. There's no privacy. So we ended up having to find another room in Dullstroom on a Friday evening.

• Brand (9/5): Cosy, well appointed and close to the main attractions - The room is beautifully appointed, with a super comfortable bed and a modern, spacious bathroom. The location is superb, just a short walk down the road to the local cosy pub, and a bit further to the main road. The wifi was very unstable and made it virtually impossible to enjoy any streaming service on the TV. The bathroom barn door was completely stuck and made it very difficult to close the door, as pulling it unhinged the door. The closet provided was very small, and we battled to fit our clothes in it for a weekend stay.

There seems to be a bit of a damp issue inside the bathroom and under the kitchen sink which leaves a bit of a moldy smell. The wifi passowrd I think was different and we were unable to access... not a big deal though. We weren't able to reach the hosts so on arrival we stood around a bit trying to figure out which unit we were in. Also no kitchen dustbin... but all small things and easily fixable :)

Adding a few twin plugs would be helpful, as opposed to guests having to go out and buy some. Lastly, the shower drain might need unclogging, as using both shower heads caused the water to take quite some time to drain.

• Du (9/5): Beautiful, cozy unit with loads of privacy and perfectly located. - The unit we stayed in at Rest Guesthouse was a private room with it's own bathroom. The bathroom included a luxury bath as well as a big open shower. It had a kitchen with a kettle, cutlery, plates, glasses and a mini bar fridge. The unit also had a tv and a cupboard. The beds where the absolute most comfortable beds I have ever slept on and the bedding was of high quality and super soft. The unit had a very luxury and modern feel to it. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that the extractor fan in the bathroom didn't really do anything to the steam inside the shower, I don't think it's working properly as our bathroom was full of steam even if we left the windows open for long periods of time.

Every time I showered, the entire bathroom was completely flooded - I used all the extra towels provided to soak up enough water so that I could get to/from the toilet, otherwise my sneakers would’ve been sopping.
