Guest Reviews
- Kerry (10/5): Unique, comfortable, quiet and welcoming. - We really loved staying in this unique property that had everything we needed. We particularly enjoyed the communal lounge room with its wood burning fire and couches, games and music. What a wonderful way to enjoy our long weekend! The domes were extremely comfortable and I loved having a fire in the bedroom.! The bathroom inside was well equipped and the bed was extremely comfortable. We should have brought an umbrella to get from the domes to the shed in the rain!

- Yogesh (10/5): -
- Peter (5/5): Overpriced and a bit dissapointing - Room was well appointed with fire place and all the usual inclusions. Bed was too soft. Woke up with aching back. Included breakfast was serve yourself from a fridge and some cereal. Kitchen was full of dishes from previous night and was very offputting. No TV.
- Charles (10/5): -
- Bevan (10/5): - Very nicely presented
- SALLYANN (10/5): Mat was great Accommodation was amazing - Everything

- Rose (10/5): Absolutely wonderful, I am already planning the next trip. - Everything was perfect - the dome was so cosy, breakfast was wonderful, the view was magnificent. Wilder is easily accessible by car and very close to a number of amazing landmarks. The host was very kind and thoughtful. The only thing that I didn't like was having to leave. Everything was great. I have no suggestions or criticisms.

- Christian Gissell (10/5): - The view was incredible. My only regret is not staying longer
- Carmen (8/5): -
- Sarah-Louise (10/5): Well worth a stay! - Everything! Well appointed domes with a very comfortable bed. The preprepared meals in the lodge are great if you don’t want to travel into the nearest town. The shower was really good, and the wood fire was perfect on a chilly night. Would highly recommend. Nothing!
- Christiana (10/5): - Beautiful location. Very calming and relaxing.
- TRACEY (10/5): - What a unique stay location 30 minutes away from Cradle Mountain and 15 minutes away from Sheffield. Our hosts were wonderful, the eco hut was cosily furnished and the continental breakfast was lovely and with meals available for dinner plus an honesty bar there was nothing to want for....great mountain views a friendly echidna and paddymelons hopping around not to mention the stars at night Wilder was a fantasic experience and we would highly recommend as a great place to stay.
- Jane (10/5): - Wonderful experience. Amazing place. Friendly welcome from Brit. Our fire was lit and electric blankets on! Suggest bring a book and download a movie.
- Rebekka (10/5): - Wilder was a lovely place to stay! The dome was so cosy and it was lovely to lie in bed with the fire going and a view of the mountains. It is a convenient location for accessing Cradle Mountain and other nearby attractions. The staff were friendly and helpful and checked in to ensure I had everything I needed. The meals were tasty and quick and easy to heat up and there was excellent wine! I highly recommend a stay here.
- Josh (10/5): - It was great
- Fetalvero (5/5): It was good - Breakfast just alright The wood heater

- Kate (10/5): - The room was cosy and clean. The views were spectacular
- Papasee (10/5): - If you’re looking for a budget-friendly and comfortable place near Mount Cradle, I’d recommend Wilder Tamania. It’s about a 45-minute drive from Mount Cradle. The property has a lounge area where you can relax in the evening, and breakfast is served in the morning. The dome rooms come with A/C, a fireplace, and hot water. The staff member : Brit gave us a warm welcome, showing us around and being very friendly.
- Peter Jackson (10/5): -
- Mimi (9/5): Truly an unforgettable stay - Amazing views, comfortable bed and enough heating considering it was very cold on our stay. There is a very cozy lounge as well where we had breakfast included in our stay. Will definitely come back
- Erin (10/5): - Gorgeous location, friendly hosts and convenient distance from both Cradle Mountain and Devonport city.
- Simone (10/5): - One of the most beautiful places we have stayed over the years. The geodesics dome is absolutely gorgeous. The outdoor bath just topped our
experience. We recommend Wilder Tasmania to people who are looking for serentiy and beauty. Damien & Simone
- Evnike (10/5): Exceptional - I loved my stay at Wilder - Matt, the host, was wonderful. The location had great walking trails at the doorstep and the food avaialble at the Lodge was excellent. The Domes are true luxury!
- Musia (10/5): 10/10 - Amazing so accomodating will definitely be staying again
- Hui-Wen (10/5): - Really beautiful place with unique experience! Very clean and boutique dorm with friendly hosts. Great thanks for the warm hospitality and the lovely cake. It was really a big touching surprise for my birthday.
- Marcus (8/5): Great - The view was amazing, very friendly staff. Just needed a few bits more of wood to keep the fire going all night.. heat pump was on 30 and felt cold as…
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Magiska tält som är otroligt fina och lyxiga. Fin utsikt mot bergen men hela anläggningen är lite tråkig. Den är ny så saker håller på att planteras men behövs lite mer kärlek.
- My (8/5): Chilly frosty dome life - Unique stay with a very welcoming Matt when arriving. Amazing bath outside for those keen to have one out in the cold but end of the day it was a lovely stay Air conditioning for heating didn’t do anything but the heated bed made up for it
- Farid (9/5): Superb -
- Emma (10/5): - Everything was amazing, host was awesome
- Josephine (8/5): Unique, indulgent, peaceful, beautiful. - The dome itself, so beautifully decorated, and the main lodge for eating, relaxing. The hosts were amazing. We arrived late and they txt us to make sure they could get food ready for us on arrival. The outside bath and starry night (just remember to turn the aircon off before you get in). The position of the pods with the driveway in front. Will work better when some garden grows up a bit. Wallabies were dining out on the new plants though :-(
- Liz (10/5): - The domes were a unique accommodation experience. Having the availability of the fire was awesome as it was quite chilly at night. The view was beautiful - as you opened the drapes in the morning, the sun was shining and the mountains were there. Loved, loved!! The outside tub was fantastic. Guests can access the lodge at any time. Dave and Matt were awesome hosts and very accommodating in any/all our requests!! : ) Totally recommend this spot!
- Jaclynne (10/5): Magnificent - Loved this unique accomodation my only regret was we had only booked for one night would love to have stayed longer. The host, Dave, was so friendly, welcoming and helpful. He delivered a delicious cheese platter to our “dome” and we enjoyed it just looking at the beautiful view of the mountains. The domes are only a few months old so everything is practically brand new and the bathroom is gorgeous and spacious. Then theres the guest lodge where we were able to get a pre-prepared meal for dinner at a reasonable price and there were lots of gluten free options too. We ate our dinner in the lounge of the lodge and enjoyed the wood log fire. The bed was super comfy and the shower was devine, I wasn’t quite brave enough to use the outdoor bathtub but what a lovely touch and I enjoyed a cup of tea early in the morning just the mountains, the birds and me!! Magnificent!
- Kylie (10/5): - Perfect spot to relax and enjoy the view. The hosts are very welcoming and hospitable. Couldn’t have asked for more.
- Idit (10/5): You should try ! - Beautiful glamping ! Great decoration, nice shower! Had a well prepared fireplace Nothing
- Melissa (9/5): A happy glamper - The dome really was amazing and the best glamping experience I’ve had. It was very spacious and the private bathroom was great. The bath outside under the stars was also really nice. Additionally we enjoyed a nice fire as it was a little cool at night. The bed was comfy and there were good amenities in the dome (perhaps a tissue box would be nice though). Overall a really lovely stay and I’m interested to see how the place evolves over time and would love to stay again in future if I have the chance! It probably isn’t as private as you’d initially think with glamping as lots of cars drive by and you want to leave the curtains open for the view! As with all new places they have a few teething issues but nothing too crazy. The pathway lighting to the lodge is a bit dim at night with lots of wildlife around it can be a little scary. The lights from the dome next door also reflected into our dome which made it a little hard to sleep. Additionally there was probably not enough hot water for a bath. There were also a few spiders (huntsmen) in the dome which isn’t really the properties fault when in nature.
- Marta (10/5): - A great lodging and nature experience at the foot of Mount Roland. Thanks for your hospitality, Matt and Dave!
- Morag (10/5): - Very peaceful and unique. The outdoor bath was perfect after a hike. Great spot for walkers, hikers or just to soak up peace and tranquility .
Beautiful location
- Wendy (10/5): Exceptional - Everything
- Sandy (10/5): Exceptional - Great to be able to get our breakfast when it suited us.
Nice walk along the river. It was a little colder than I expected at night. Electric blankets excellent
- Piper (10/5): This was the most picturesque way to end my trip to Cradle Mountain. I loved the domes! - I loved the dome and the outdoor bath! It was the best glamping experience I have ever had! N/A
- Kay (8/5): - This accommodation is fresh and new with an historic lodge built by a well known local identity in the 'logging camp' architectural style. The views are lovely and the location is excellent for looking around a very scenic area of Tasmania. Hiking trails are very close. My suggestions would be to hook up the hot water to the sink in the bathroom and ad a second firelighter and a bit more wood so that the yurt/tent could be heated quickly in the morning. The heat pump was slow and eventually heated my head and shoulders while I was standing up in the coffee area of the tent. I would stay again but I would ask for a second firelighter and more wood.
- Matilda (8/5): Very good -
- Michelle (10/5): A warm welcome with beautiful views and lovely nights sleep. - This place was wonderfully built and operated. The staff were amazing and so inviting. This place was a little bit more expensive than we were budgeting but I am so glad we stayed here. The lodge was just wonderful and I would love to return when they hold a music event. I could spend hours in the outside bath!!
- Roche (10/5): Exceptional - Matt welcomed us at the gate. He showed us how everything worked. We had bought our own food which is fine - they have a BBQ, but he also showed us the pre prepared food that is available and is restaurant quality. They also have pretty good local wine on offer
The outside bath is a must. Looking at the mountain and stars at night is just spectacular.in the morning we took the short 600m walk to the creek- super pretty. Went back to the lodge for coffee, boiled eggs and toast. Could not ask for more. They have found the secret. What a.place
- Rowley (10/5): - Great
- Graham (4/5): - No need by shops or resturants. Tiolet was dirty before we even arrived. When booked it said my room had wifi. It didnt. Only the lodge had wifi and my phone had no service. Seen no staff at all ecept for book in. Room only had one coffee cup for a couple staying. Very dissapointing. Would not reconment.
- Henriette (10/5): Amazing - Everything! So comfortabel and nicely decorated. It was a rainy day and the woodfire was so great. The whole area is very quiet , not far from Cradle mountains visitor centre where we did one of the most beautiful walks in Tasmania. It’s an amazing experience to sleep in a dome. It’s a bit pricy but worth it.
- Kirk (9/5): Superb -
- Michelle (8/5): Very good -
- Calum (10/5): 100% recommend for a fun and cosy stay! - Don’t hesitate booking Wilder - it was amazing, the tents have been decked out beautifully & the owner was super welcoming when we arrived showing us around - the shared space is huge and the frozen meals were delicious, a nice touch meaning you don’t have to leave! Continental breakfast with yummy sourdough is also included for breakfast!
The outdoor bath is a real bonus too :) N/A
- Paul (10/5): - Just magic. Sleeping in a cross between a kids playground equipment and an igloo.
Great fit out and lovely people. So quite so beautiful at the foot of Mount something in the middle of no where. Also a lovely lodge to hang out in and have your Continental breakfast. Cant wait to come back.
- Andrew (10/5): - Amazing couple of days enjoying the location and the experience
- Lachlan (10/5): - Beautiful newly built glamping domes with a fantastic dining cabin and outdoor bath.
- Jasleen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Peter (10/5): Lasting impressions for a 1 night stay - Great place for a relaxing overnight stay. Views of Mount Roland were incredible. Cabin was great and our children loved the stay. Matt pointed us to a hidden trail to a creek near by, kids absolutely loved it (photo attached). Matt and Dave were both very welcoming and accommodating. We were concerned about the lack of food options nearby before arriving, ended up just having the prepackaged meals in the lodge. We had the red curry and the beef stroganoff, both of which were very good. Looking forward to coming back again. The grounds are still fresh given the recently finished construction, but imagine it will be well vegetated given a bit of time, It didn't take much away from the whole experience however.
- Helen (7/5): It was an amazing experience! - I really loved the place and staff were super friendly and helpful. Just .. since it was extremely expensive, my expectation was a bit higher than what I experienced. 1. The air conditioner heating was not good enough to warm the whole room. So I enjoyed the fireplace (but, first night, there were insufficient woods, so it was so freezing in the early morning)
2. Hot water was not sufficient and not hot enough for a hot bath. (Since the bath is outside, water gets colder quickly so the water should be hotter)
After the bath, when I had a shower, the hot was stopped :(
3. Breakfast was not sufficient as I couldn’t see the fruits and eggs next day :(
4. The lights between Dome and the lodge need to be brighter as it was so dark and it was scary as I can hear animals abut couldn’t see :(
5.If the price was a bit cheaper, it would have been better but I can understand as it was a peak season.
6. If I could have been able to use wifi in the dome, it would have been much better (so I can organise my plans for the next day etc.)
7. The basin was so small so I couldn’t put my belongings at all :(
8. A bit far from the main attractions(the road to cradle mountain was so curvy
- KA LO (10/5): - 特別的住宿難忘,讓我們休息一個好好的晚上,環境非常優美,10分推薦
- William (10/5): - Amazing
- Belinda (10/5): 2 nights not long enough - Perfect quiet location, views were incredible
Very comfortable and enjoyed the bath outside
- Vivienne (10/5): Would return in a heartbeat! - This is the perfect location as you're tucked away on Mt Roland but still within short driving distance to Cradle Moutain and the town of Sheffield. On site facilities are amazing with a a small rnage of breakfast items provided, as well as outdoor fire pits, fire places and your own private outdoor bath to watch the sunset.
- Natalie (10/5): - We had the pleasure of being the first guests here and it was honestly amazing. The peaceful area, the lodge, the domes. The lodge is majestic with the fairy lights in the evening! The domes are kitted out so you have all the pleasures of a hotel room, it was faultless. The view from the domes are stunning. Our host was extremely friendly and even gave us a bottle of wine on the house! The communication was perfect and they really cater to all of your needs. I'm already planning my next stay!
