Guest Reviews
- Kane (10/5): An immaculate, ,well proportioned house in a great location. It made a great base for a family. - The house is perfect for exploring Scarborough and further beyond. The communication with the owner was great and they were on hand if needed. The key was left in a lock box near the front door so that it was really easy to let yourself in. The house itself was immaculate and I could not find any faults. The facilities were brand new and having a washer/ tumble dryer was an added bonus with 2 small children. The house is well proportined with everything you could need. The bathroom was huge! Lovely, soft fluffy towels and even toiletries on hand. It was a perfect location within walking distance to the beach, restaurants, town and train centre. There was off street parking. An ideal place to stay with family as a base to explore or enjoy Scarborough. None! Keep doing what you're doing!
- Nicola (10/5): Wonderful stay at Appleby Cottage - House was wonderful and clean , everything was smoothly run and the message before we arrived gave us all the information we needed to know. Washer , dryer , dishwasher it was amazing honestly Only silly things ie:- no salt and vinegar in cupboards although there was milk sugar teabags etc so that was just a personal want for our fish and chips on arrival and a nest of tables would be good as there was nowhere to put my elderly moms drinks by her on the settee but these are such minor things as literally everything else is catered for
- Char (10/5): - Amazing facilities washer and dryer
Full size bath and separate shower!
Making it easier with the kids after beach trips!
Short walk to the main street and beach
- Olawale (10/5): Awesome - It was a lovely home with beautiful aesthetics, well-equipped with up-to-date appliances. The Window on the landing needs a blind, its too open to the back garden, no privacy, had to use a towel to cover it.
- Michael (10/5): Fantastic - Great location decent size house There was nothing that we didn’t like
- Becky (9/5): Family of 5 - Fantastic location, washer and dryer were an amazing plus! A couch you can melt into and a fabulous shower! Brought my 3 boys and husband and we were all very impressed.

Good location for the open air theatre
Comfy beds
Fluffy towels The rear courtyard could benefit from some attention but this is minor

- Sarah (8/5): Nice house, nice quiet area and nice owner!! - The house was lovely and clean good wifi it worked out Amazon stick well also my phone and my son's console, the house was welcoming, clean and had tea, coffee and sugar not all do so it was nice the house was fitted with everything you might need.we had some nice online chats then owner and myself it went very fast arriving at 6pm and leaving in the morning if places weren't as costly now we wouldn't only stay one night. Nothing to complain about we did sink into the big sofa however ha ha!

- Holly (9/5): Superb - A lovely cottage in an excellent location for exploring Scarborough and surrounding areas. The cottage was exceptionally clean, beds comfortable, fabulous rainfall shower! Tea, milk, sugar and biscuits on arrival was a lovely touch. Everything has been thought of to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The host was the stand out of our stay and was so friendly and helpful. Thank you for a lovely Easter stay! Everything great! Stairs are steep in the cottage, we managed fine, just something to be aware of for guests with little children needing to be carried up and down the stairs :)
- Sean (10/5): Exceptional -

- Shirley (8/5): Very good - Good all round. Warm and clean. Welcome pack was nice. Lovely towels and bedding. Beds were very comfortable. Interesting area with lots of places to eat. Little bit dark in the living area and small for four adults. Would have liked written Instructions for heating, microwave and oven, but we worked it out.
- Mark (9/5): Superb -
- Jonpaul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Leanne (10/5): Lovely house 🏠- Beautiful house. Comfy beds, lovely shower and bath.
Everything we needed for our stay.
Big kitchen with all appliances and plates cutlery, etc.
Very clean and tidy.
The host was very helpful and accommodating. Good communication.
Short walking distance to train station and beach. Nothing would definitely return.
- Steven (10/5): Exceptional - Immaculate, very comfortable beds, lovely bathroom and kitchen, great access to sea front and perfectly adequate parking provision. Also the host is delightful!
- Julie (8/5): Perfect - Very clean and comfortable. Perfect for our Christmas getaway in Scarborough. Owner generous with things left for us and helpful with any questions we had. Beds very comfy. House well located for everything in Scarborough. 10-15 minute walk to both Peasholm park and Scarborough front. Was lovely to have Christmas decorations up too. 5 of us stayed, but only 4 chairs at dining table. Otherwise, everything else great.
- Hazel (10/5): Perfect - The cottage is exceptionally clean and welcoming . The bedrooms are spacious and Claire arranged a cot for my grand daughter. The bed was very comfortable. The lounge was very cosy and relaxing. The kitchen has everything you need. The location is great. It was perfect for our stay in Scarborough. Stairs are a bit steep but that's what you can expect in this type of property.
- Fiona (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice cottage for the price definitely would stay there again and the owner is lovely and friendly.
- Lorna (9/5): Amazing stay - Great house. Comfy, lovely decoration and well equipped. Really good host, easy to contact, and happy to help.
- Janine (10/5): Exceptional - Comfortable cottage, had a lovely stay. Appreciated the welcome pack. Was really nice and cosy. Claire kept in touch sent us all the details. Will definitely be back.
- Robert (10/5): We had a great overnight stay at this property very close to Town Centre. - We received good communication throughout our booking from our host, Claire. On arrival we liked the airiness and cleaniness of this property. The welcome 'brew kit', including fresh milk and a box of delicious Parkin biscuits, was a pleasant surprise and we very much appreciated the thoughtful hospitality! Both double bedrooms were spacious and the beds and linen were comfortable and clean. The single bed was totally adequate for an adult to sleep in. The ablution areas were spotless and the bath towels etc were super soft and clean, The sitting room was snug and accommodated 5 adults comfortably. The kitchen/diner was well appointed with clean appliances, crockery and utensils etc. The property is within walking distance to Town's shopping centre and the South Bay is not far away. All in all we recommend this property when you next visit Scarborough. Nothing.
- Martin (8/5): Satisfied with everything. -
- Steven (8/5): Lovely, comfortable property in a great location and with a friendly host. - Appleby cottage was exceptionally clean and well equipped with everything that we needed. It was spacious, yet cosy and a cot was available for us to use. We walked to the North Bay in 10/15 minutes and shops were a couple of minutes away. The outdoor space wasn’t particularly child friendly with hard/rough surface throughout. However, due to the weather we didn’t utilise it anyway.
- Deborah (9/5): Superb - Great location for Scarborough Open Air Theatre. Parking on the street. Very clean . Great facilities such as kitchen, bathroom and downstairs WC. Good communication with owner ensuring check in was seamless.Nice touch leaving milk, teabags and biscuits.Quiet street. Good for our 1 night stay. Small niggle most rooms were good sizes except the 3rd bedroom. In the description it states this has 2 single beds so in effect sleeps 6. Originally only 5 adults were staying when we mentioned to the owner this had changed to 6 it was mentioned that the 2nd single bed was a 'pull out trundle bed and was usually used for children. This didnt allow for the room door to be closed and wasnt the comfiest. I appreciate we changed the booking from 5 to 6 adults but as the advert states sleeps 6 maybe the description could be clearer? That said all the other aspects of the property are great.
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional - It was amazing
Beautiful house
- Kyle (10/5): Felt like home, the house was well presented and had everything we needed and more -
- Gary (10/5): Lovely clean place to stay - Stayed at appleby cottage for 2 days for a family break, place was absolutely nipping clean and like home from home, much easier then stopping in hotel rooms. We had our one year old grandson with us cot and high chair provided at request, everything u needed was there, dishwasher, cooker, microwave, washer and dryer. Parking permit was supplied so parking was easy and tea bags, milk and biscuits were left for us arriving after 2 hour drive. Great place to stop. Nothing to not like!
- Rina (9/5): Superb - The house was beautiful, very clean, it had everything that we needed for our stay.
- Lucy (9/5): Slept very well. Property was in a great location and the host was very friendly and helpful. Very much enjoyed our stay - Modern and nicely decorated. All facilities needed including washing machine and tumble dryer. Spacious kitchen with all facilities. Comfortable beds. Parking- on street parking and sometimes difficult to get a space plus disc zone.
- Lydia (10/5): Delightful - Great communication from the owners.
Stylish accommodation
Comfortable beds
Well equipped kitchen
Excellent value for money It was very hot weather when we stayed, so we had to open the windows and there was a lot of noise in the night. In fairness, they are double glazed, so had they been shut we would probably not have heard anything!
Super steep staircase - which was a bit tricky for my arthritic mother and 4 year to navigate.
- Barmby (10/5): Fabulous place to stay - Such a gorgeous place, had a great welcome. Very clean, good parking, easy to get to anywhere in Scarborough. Fabulous shower! Everything there you could need, very happy few days, would go back. Nothing, all brilliant
- Rob (9/5): Superb -
- Kayleigh (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, clean and had everything we needed
The host was very responsive to our questions and had little touches like tea, milk, sugar and cookies left N/a
- Robert (10/5): Amazing place, perfect location! Would definitely book again! - Excellent location, lovely place, great facilities. Nothing! The beds were very soft so I didn’t sleep amazing but that is a personal thing.
- Stella (10/5): Exceptional - The host was very accommodating and welcoming. The house is lovely and bigger than expected. It is well located, about 20 mins walk to the beach and only a couple of mins to the supermarket. The bathroom is amazing and has a very nice sit down area outside. The kitchen is fully equipped to cook up a storm and the wifi is great. It has both a washer and dryer which was a god send with 3 young children. We were given on street parking but there's several small carparks near by if needed. We really struggled to find anything disappointing with our stay.
- Leanne (7/5): Good -
- Jonathan (9/5): We would definitely stay here again as the cottage was excellent and very comfortable. - The location was excellent and very close to the town centre. Even though we were close to town centre the area was very quiet. There was no breakfast provided. There should be more waste bins and a sanitary bin in the cottage. An information pack for the appliances would have been appreciated and the heating controls, though we didn't need them, should be more accessible.
- Gayle (10/5): Absolutely amazing find already considering a return visit next year. - Beautiful house very high end finish and quality white goods and comfortable beds and sofas. 5 adults celebrating 2 60th birthdays. Two car permits sorted before arrival. Great location for other places to visit. we pulled in Whitby Bridlington and Goathland. Loved the outside seating area we even had a Bbq one night. Loads of places to shop at .Nice touches like tea coffee sugar and milk on arrival and a unexprcted kindness of a bottle of preseco too. Maybe a welcome file with white goods manuals might be helpful as I've never used an electric cooker in 45 years.
- Natasha (10/5): Lovely base for exploring Scarborough. - The house is spacious, clean and tidy. It looks newly decorated and well looked after. it has an nice open kitchen diner and cosy front room. It was very thoughtful to have teabags & milk already waiting for us. Bedrooms were good sizes and we all had a comfortable nights sleep. Lovely white clean bedding and fluffy towels.
- Shay-leigh (10/5): Exceptional - The accommodation was absolutely stunning. Very good value for money. Couldn’t of asked for better
- Howard (10/5): Fantastic stay! Excellent property! Definitely stay again - Lovely treats on arrival- scrumptious biscuits, tea bags and milk in the fridge.
So clean and modern.
