Guest Reviews
- Anastasiia (10/5): Not just accommodation-a key to success of our trip to Highlands and a place you want to return to. - Well thought through and equipped, spotlessly clean. Cosy and relaxing. Convenient base for travelling around this part of Scotland. Equally good for stay-like-at-home and walks in the forest which is literary on the doorstep. Stunning view straight from your bed every morning you wake up and raise the curtains. Flawless check-in. Great host.
- Geoff (1/5): Ruined our day. - It was well furnished and well located. DO NOT BOOK THIS PROPERTY. Martin asked us for a security deposit a few days before we arrived - after our payment for the property had been processed. I was unimpressed, as we had no alternatives for accommodation at that point and would have lost our deposit. There was no mention of this requirement in the booking that I could find. On arrival I expressed my disappointment in what I felt was deceptive behaviour. Martin clearly didn’t like this. After we departed we were stunned to receive a message that he had found a scratch which required him to keep our entire GBP 350 deposit. My son and I are adamant no scratch was made by us despite Martin sending us a photo showing a scratch we would certainly have seen before our departure. We believe this was pure vindictiveness on his part. We note previous glowing reviews. Martin will no doubt reply with something plausible, but this is the first review I have done on Booking.com and I have booked hundreds of stays through this site. I am fuming and will lodge a formal complaint.

- Christoph (10/5): - Drumfin Cottage is a one-of-a-kind accomodation on the outskirts of Elgin. The studio is tastefully decorated, with a comfortable bed, very well equipped kitchen and spacious bathroom. Located right next to the forest the property offers lovely quiet surroundings with lots of options for wee walks and encounters with curious furry neighbours. Downtown Elgin is easily accessible on foot, offering a variety of restaurants and shopping facilities. Our host Martin was very welcoming and offered loads of suggestions for activities and sights.
- Vsribeirinho (10/5): Amazing cottage and location! - Wonderful cottage and location. It had everything you needed for a very comfortable stay. Martin (the host) was always very kind and available to help with any questions or needs, even gave us some local distillery tips in the Speyside area. We'll definitely be coming back to continue to explore the region.

Hij gaf ons allerlei tips voor mooie motorritjes in de omgeving en hielp ons op weg met handige motor benodigdheden. Top, van harte aanbevolen! -

- Sandra (10/5): Perfect cottage in a stunning location with all amenities available . - Property was immaculate , very high standard and had everything you needed for our stay. Beautiful grounds and view from the cottage and it backed onto woodland which was perfect for walking our dog. Martin was in the garden when we arrived and came over to introduce himself and told us if we needed anything just to let him know which was very helpful. Great location for getting out and about to all the great beaches and off road parking to the side of the property which made it ideal. Great wee get away place , highly recommended . There was nothing not to like . One wee suggestion would be to have a small cordless hoover or even a long handled brush so you could sweep the floor with, I know not everyone would use it but sometimes when down the beach you bring sand back and you get gritty bits on the floor , but it’s only an idea as it was perfect .
- Alex (10/5): Relaxing, peaceful and welcoming. - Property was absolutely first class. Great facilities, exceptionally clean and comfortable. The location was very peaceful, views and gardens were very well maintained. The owner Martin was very helpful, friendly and happy to chat. All good here.

- Andrew (10/5): Fantastic - From arrival to departure everything was fantastic.
A lovely warm Scottish welcome from our host Martin who briefed us on the wildlife and fauna in the grounds of the property and the beautiful surrounding woodland . We did manage to catch a glimpse of the red squirrels at one of the many feeders placed around the garden which was wonderful !
The cottage is modern, warm, cosy, water always piping hot and has everything from a hair dryer to extremely fast wi fi ! Absolutely nothing and we can’t wait to return !
- Janet (10/5): Luxury, spotless, perfect - The property was of an exceptional standard - Martin the host was welcoming and was there to sort out any queries or concerns, we did not have any as everything perfect. The bed was very comfortable and the property was absolutely spotless. We had a cocker spaniel with us and the property was great, we had plenty of room for his crate. Would highly recommend, beautiful property in a beautiful setting - thank you Martin x Nothing
- Robin (9/5): Superb - Compact and comfortable, great location and well appointed. Good and helpful comms with the host making check in and the whole stay a pleasant experience. Little extras in the room like eggs, milk and a bottle of bubbly a nice touch to get the stay off to a great start.

- Jane (10/5): Exceptional - Drumfin Cottage is a deluxe woodland retreat and the perfect place to relax. - Tracey (10/5): Exceptional - A fantastic cottage, loved everything about it. Absolutely immaculate, beautifully furnished to a luxury 5* standard. Set in a beautiful quiet location with amazing views. We would have liked to have taken advantage of the lovely patio area but unfortunately the weather didn't permit! Also has direct access to walks in the peaceful wood next to the property. Fabulous, absolutely recommend! Nothing. Its perfect!

- Robert (10/5): An exceptional experience on what used to be our doorstep - Everything from owner to facilities
- Virginia (10/5): Exceptional - Drumfin cottage was cozy and comfortable ,everything about it was wonderful and the host Martin made directions and entery stress free Great base for visiting the lovely beaches ,golf courses and distilleries on the Mory coast . Nothing we didn't like lots of lovely eateries and weather was kind to us too, love to come back to Drumfin cottage again.
- Natasha (10/5): Really enjoyed my stay and I couldn’t have found better accommodation. Martin was very helpful and I can’t wait to stay - The property was immaculate. Fully equipped and everything was easy to use.
- Nicola (9/5): A fantastic place to spend a few days visiting family - The cottage was incredibly clean and modern. Ideal location for visiting the surrounding areas and family. Great communication from the host. Lots of essentials were provided within the cottage, which took some of the stress away when staying within accommodation which is self-catering. Although parking is available for one car, the space available for manoeuvring the vehicle in and out of the car parking space was tight. Thus the car parking space is only ideal for one small car, which to be fair, might have already been said on the website.
- Janice (10/5): Just Perfect - Just back from a 4 night stay. What a beautiful cottage set in lovely gardens and spotlessly clean. The cottage is ideal for a couple with the most comfiest bed and beautiful furnishings. The cottage has everything you need and more. Martin was so friendly and couldn't have been nicer. I would definitely recommend a stay here and we hope to return in the future. You won't be disappointed. Lovely walks in the woods accessible from the back garden and close to the town centre. Ideal location with lovely views. Had a wonderful time. There was nothing not to like.
Everything was perfect.
- Sheenagh (10/5): Exceptional - The property was excellent. There was everything required and more. The cottage has been finished to a high standard and is very comfortable. The garden was lovely and the fact we could just walk out the back gate into the woods was great. Martin was helpful and friendly and I thoroughly recommend a stay at Drumfin . Nothing, everything was great
