Guest Reviews
- Anna-Katharina (9/5): Ideal quiet retreat in beautiful English countryside. - I loved the location directly next to Tring Park (Woodland Trust) and the beautiful view (fields and forest) out of the windows. Cosy living room and seperate bedroom and a kitchen. Could easily have stayed there 5 weeks instead of 5 days and would love to return to the place in spring or summer. Unfortunately didn't have the time to also explore Wigginton more (aparently there's an lovely community shop and café not too far away).
Excellent hosts just next door, too.
One ideally needs a car to get there and go places though.
- mark (10/5): Idyllic stay - Beautiful surroundings. Idyllic place for a couple to rest from the daily rat race. Sally and Tim were wonderful hosts.
Would certainly come again and highly recommend to friends.
- Robert (8/5): - The location and surrounding countryside. Very comfortable and was ideal for 2 people The outside seating area was not as good as it looked in photo and needs updating
- Richard (10/5): Excellent and quiet place to stay with great character - Had a great stay. Bread, butter, tea, coffee, milk and jam were in the kitchen when we arrived. Quiet and peaceful at the end of private road and directly next to Tring park for a great walk. Had everything needed with good wi-fi, sky TV and a washing machine. Easy for access to a number of places and Tring has some great pubs. Would definitely stay again and hosts were excellent and friendly. Kitchen is compact but has everything you need
- Eve (10/5): What an absolute gem. This is a great little self-contained unit in an absolutely beautiful location - Tim and Sally were lovely hosts.
- Zoe (9/5): Superb -
- Moya (7/5): Good -
- Zoe (10/5): Lovely relaxed stay - Lovely, quit and comfortable
- Zoe (8/5): Very good -
- Psyskie (10/5): Exceptional - Great place, extremely quiet and good for walks.. pub and tug shop close - walking distance. Nil
- Alan (9/5): Absolutely fantastic. The hosts Sally and Tim were very friendly and helpful. - The accommodation was perfect with adequate space and also a fully equipped kitchen. The extensive grounds were magnificent and a credit to Sally and Tim. Very quiet location and perfectly situated for country walks. I’d have preferred a hand held shower head instead of a stand under shower head to facilitate showering without washing your hair.
The mattress was rather soft.
- Jan (10/5): Lovely quiet getaway. - Absolutely beautiful Lodge with everything you need in the most stunning location.
Lovely, quiet location right next to the woods where there are some great walks to be had.
Fabulous hosts who were very welcoming.
Definitely worth another stay 😊 Absolutely nothing.
- Tom (9/5): Really enjoyable, lovely ambience. - All good, very pleasant surroundings. Hostess very friendly and welcoming. Excellent location that was convenient to everywhere we wanted to go. Can't think of anything worth mentioning. We were very happy with everything.
- Steve (8/5): Our stay in Wigginton - The hosts were friendly, the Lodge looks beautiful. Liked the secluded spot, very quiet and peaceful. Only a short walk to both the Village Pub and bus stop into Tring. Lovely area for hiking with lots of footpaths near by. The kitchen is small and a little cramped but perfectly functional. The bed was not the most comfortable we've slept in. Whilst it seems strange to complain about hot water, it was very hot, could easily scold, needs turning down a little.
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional - Great lodge in a quiet rural location. Ideal for our weekend break. Very spacious and comfortable. Throughly enjoyed our stay in Tring.
- Najnaj (10/5): A home from home - This is a hidden gem . We thought we’d arrived at a National Trust property as the property and gardens are stunning and a credit to the hosts.
The accommodation was perfect for us with a lovely bedroom and en-suite and plenty of storage in the property. It felt like a home from home as soon as we arrived. A thoughtful welcome package with essentials was appreciated too. There are abundance of local walks plus a pub with a varied menu We would definitely rebook as we have relatives in the area .
