Guest Reviews
- DEVERALL (10/5): Comfortable, stress free and relaxing. - When we arrived at the property, straight away we were amazed at how lovely it was. Fabulous location, extremely comfortable beds and great having the extra bathrooms/showers. Also, my family and myself were moving on to Cornwall after our holiday in Devon. I mistakenly booked for us to leave Pittman cottage on Saturday and booked us into our Cornwall accommodation on the Sunday, when I should’ve booked us in on the Saturday night. Very luckily for me and my family, the hosts at Pittman cottage, arranged and agreed for us to stay one more night, being the Saturday, stay at the accommodation one more night, thank goodness, as it was a bank holiday weekend and it would have been difficult to find accommodation elsewhere 😅 so very grateful to the hosts and their help in getting us out of a tricky situation. Much appreciated. 100% recommend accommodation, location and hosts. 👍 Everything was good.
- Steven (10/5): -
- Howard (8/5): Enjoyable stay and would stay again if visiting Torquay - Very clean and comfortable The lounge window doesn’t seem to be sealed at the top allowing noise in and slightly cold in the evening.
- Gill (10/5): - Great location, so close to everything. Beautifully decorated and furnished. The most comfortable beds. Such a relaxing few days in the most wonderful property.
- Georgia (10/5): - Loved the decor, it felt really homely and warm. Nothing really, just some coasters maybe as we were worried about putting drinks down on the lovely surfaces
- lisa (10/5): - The whole house and location are perfect There wasn't anything
- Carina (9/5): - Bra standar Kunde inte komma i kontakt med ägarna
- Helen (10/5): Amazing just what we needed. - Everything. It was absolutely stunning and had all the facilities we needed. Fantastic location too. Nothing
- Obrien (9/5): Three Aussie sisters and one husband visit Torquay - House was beautiful and very comfortable. The beds were especially comfortable and this is very important when wanting a good nights sleep after travelling and exploring.
The kitchen was very well stocked and we appreciated the milk and coffee/teas and juice ready for our arrival. Great location for getting around town of Torquay. Heads up that parking needs a residents voucher displayed in your car window. These vouchers were provided with cottage so it was not a problem. The second bedroom has an ensuite. The toilet seats needs looking at as starting to slip.

- David (9/5): Superb -
- Christine (8/5): We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, loved Cockington park Very clean and comfortable, mostly well equipped. - Bed very comfortable. Very clean and convenient for harbour area. Plenty of very hot water. The microwave smelt of fish. We did try our best to rectify this ourselves. Would have liked more small trays to carry coffee/tea on. No hangers for outdoor clothes in hall. Would be nice to have measuring jug in kitchen. Shame about the parking but we did get parking permits after contacting owners.
- Danii (10/5): Exceptional - Beautifully decorated
Lots of space
3 bed and 3 bath
- Sasha (10/5): Absolutely perfect! As a family we absolutely enjoyed our stay there and made some very special memories. Couldn’t reco - It was beautifully decorated - really classy and very homely and cosy. Couldn’t figure out the heating at first ( sounds stupid but was a bit of a hard one lol)
- Lisa (9/5): Superb - Lovely holiday home, could not fault it. Excellent location. Bit misleading to say parking is available. There were no parking permits for us and due to restrictions the nearest place to park was at the top of the hill which was a good 5 minute walk. We were half expecting this as we know the area but for someone who didn't know, this could be very disappointing and problematic.
- Gemma (9/5): Would definitely recommend staying here, lovely character property. - Nicely decorated and felt homely. Close to the harbour. Nothing
- M (7/5): Good -
- Joel (10/5): Exceptional -

- Nigel (10/5): Fantastic property. Exceeded my expectations. - Excellent location close to everything. Nothing.
- Leanne (1/5): Bad - There were mice when we arrived we had to leave and pay for a hotel we are still waiting 7 weeks later for our refund the owners and booking . Com are ignoring our emails
- Mandy (8/5): Very good - Beautiful decor, immaculately clean. Good location for the marina. The smell of damp and sewage, particularly in downstairs toilet and the rear bedroom and bathroom.
- Marie (10/5): Lovely home great location - Location perfect, comfy homely house big enough for large family and has everything u need! Owner's super helpful.
- Rebecca (10/5): Cosy home, would definitely recommend. - Property was lovely & very cosy. Good central location, ample space and plenty of bathrooms. A home from home. There’s nothing not to like about this property. Parking wasn’t great but property manager was as helpful as possible.
- Chau (10/5): Love staying here for 3 nights… very close to the main. Bed was so comfy & provided beautiful thick white towels. C - Beautiful cottage & very clean Nothing really
- Sophie (10/5): Amazing - Everything about this property was perfect. James especially was a great help and very accommodating with times of arrival. We can’t wait to stay again!
- Yiping (9/5): Superb -
- Victoria (10/5): Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us we thoroughly enjoyed our stay maybe next time we can stay longer - Everything 🤗 Excellent location
Decor tastefully done felt very homely & comfortable, brilliant that it had 3 bathrooms to go with the bedrooms.
The extra touch of milk/juice tea/coffee and prosecco was lovely you really have a beautiful home we will definitely be coming back thank you 🙏 The bathroom taps have hot/cold round the wrong way not a problem just saying and we only found the thermostat on the 2nd day so maybe put it with the prosecco so you can see it the cottage was very hot but better hot than cold
- Angela (9/5): Excellent property in great location - Great location
Owner great even when a small problem occurred
- Mark (6/5): New year break - Location is good parking poor
House is good a few things needed repairs such as some doors do not open someone got locked in the bathroom the bin is broken the shower runs over the floors the chairs was broken some kitchen items where not cleaned not enough information about things such as heating/bin’s collecting/washer/ outside back door was old bin bags
Needs more maintenance Need more maintenance cleaning and more information
- Diana (8/5): Very good -
- Anne (9/5): Superb - A lovely house, prosecco on arrival and basics provided which is excellent Perhaps a rail provided in one of bedrooms with no wardrobe. And instructions on using the heating as we had 2 cool evenings
- Owen (10/5): Great house in central location; no Torquay hills to climb. - Central location. Comfortable house well decorated and maintained. Noisy ceiling windows during rain storms (not sure how you could fix that). Smell of sewage when we first arrived (could have been due to unusually hot weather)
- Kelly (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful property in an amazing location close to the harbour and the beach. The house was very clean with all the amenities you could need whilst on holiday. There was nothing we didn't like during our stay.
- Donna (10/5): We had a lovely week in Torquay. The cottage is in a great location and we felt at home - Gorgeous decor, spacious and very comfortable Nothing
- Anonymous (9/5): Beautiful cottage needs a dryer and a few minor tweaks to make it practical for parents of babies and toddlers - Beautifully decorated quintessential English decor
Great range cooker Well equipped kitchen
Spacious
Comfortable beds
Smart TV in every bedroom and lounge
The host thoughtfully stocked the cupboards with
Rice pasta porridge milk eggs orange juice and butter plus a bottle of Prosecco
Great proximity to shops restaurants and harbour and a short 10-15 minute walk to the beach
Absolutely massive roll top bath lovely. Not had a soak in one of these since my wedding
Column radiators which I love and are in keeping with the interior
Ample storage particularly in the main bedroom
Even though the weather wasn’t great this property is calming and relaxing to be in
Laura Ashley style mixed with Georgian themed furnishings whoever did the interior has a keen eye for design
How well this property is designed outweighed the negatives although there were more negatives these did not dampen my appreciation of this lovely cottage with it’s original exposed beam in the kitchen high ceilings the little features and charm that comes with an old English home xx Parking space not guaranteed but permits provided although my Husband got a ticket as the scratch card method of displaying isn’t clear
No where to hang coats inside the property
No dryer only one clothes horse provided
Lots of ornaments vases and breakables which had to be put up high or in wardrobes as we have young children
No safety latches on windows
No extractor fans in any of the WCs
Non stick pans but only metal utensils so had to borrow silicone spatula from local friends
Mouldy high chair so couldn’t use
Vacuum cleaner hadn’t been emptied to had to empty myself (huge bug bare as asthmatic and don’t like touching other peoples dead skin hair etc in order to clean up after my Brood)
Text messages from owners throughout stay about letting a plumber in was inconvenient as I felt pressured to update them on when we would be out and I did not pay £1883 to accommodate their maintenance man this should’ve been sorted prior to renting
Hot and cold water taps were on the wrong way round in the main bedroom meaning the cold tap spews boiling hot water
No hot water on the last day I think the plumber didn’t quite get the pressure right when he came whilst we were out
No extra towels provided
Shower wasn’t powerful enough and hard to get temperatures right either ice cold or boiling hot in en-suites
Tricky to turn radiators on they may need bleeding
- Shiva (10/5): Very clean and beautiful interior - We loved everything in this house.
- Sue (10/5): Exceptional property - Loved everything about this property. Exceptional. There was Prosecco on our arrival which was a lovely welcome. Lovely quiet area, walking into the shopping area and harbour was close, just a few minutes walk. We enquired about the parking permit as there wasn't one on arrival so had to leave the car at the top of the hill but managed to get parking there each day so it wasn't really a problem.
- Marnie (10/5): Wonderful property and a wonderful break - Beautifully decorated throughout. Gorgeous kitchen. Very luxurious bedrooms and high quality bathrooms. 2 minute walk to the front . Couldn’t fault it !
- Mark (10/5): Fantastic House and great location will definitely stay again -
- Bentley (10/5): Great cottage! We all loved it! Thank you x - Pittman Cottage was absolutely beautiful and immaculate. The hosts were very accessible if we needed them.
