• JK ' (6/5): Rustic - No signage but google maps is accurate. Nice owner. Lovely old Siamese cat. Steel bunks with power nearby. Functional outdoor kitchen. I was bailed up by a pack of dogs out the front of the property next door on arrival.

• Anna (4/5): Disappointing - It's basically a roof over your head, no privacy, no commodities. The room and the bathroom were smelly. Far away from the center through a muddy road
• Geordie (9/5): Had fun and met great people there, I wish them safe travels. - I really enjoyed it everything was great. The AC was not turned on but i was not uncomfortable at night. It was excellent value. Make sure to bring some treats for the kitties.

• Grantis (8/5): Chill laid back hostel - This place is very laid back. I enjoyed how quiet it was and how easy it was to meet people and do things together. Affordable and what I needed. Gosh Bacalar has AMAZING water so I hope you enjoy. It is a walk to get to from ADO and 30 mins from the downtown area. If you don't mind walking it is fine. Not much stores or restaurants around the hostel. My bed wasnt too comfy.

• Cunningham (10/5): Exceptional - Very relaxing place.nomloud music no cars out border jungle area .friendly people and staff..away from town .but local small Bodega have what u need to eat. And cook 4 self Very inexpensive too..a 5 minute walk to Bodegas grocerys.ADO straight up rd so eazy walk or taxi 40 pesos. If ur wiped out from traveling 10 min walk to hostel if from north the street right where ADO drops u off is the way to get there..do it..it's Worth it.to get away from all 4 a c while . Leaving

• Cunningham (10/5): Peaceful - If need get away from the grind of life u know...this is the place...quiet .incredible prices.. very comfortable bed. Hit water fir edge of not bad. Relaxing. .and outsude kitchen just enough to rustic sure that's what u wanted..n people all same mind set .a place to chat ir be left a line 7 colors not walkable..if like taxi cheap..if thinking bout it do it.... Leaving
• Michael (7/5): Good - The owner was very welcoming. Nice pets! Hot shower. Good wifi Kitchen area is small and dirty. Unhygienic so chose not to cook in. Location is 30 minutes from the centre, not at issue for us and it is noted in the hostal brief. However the area is remote on the edge of the forest, poorly lit dirt track roads with many loose dogs roaming in packs. Noisey at night with barking dogs and cockrels everywhere starting at 3am! Mattress not particularly comfortable. X5 double bunks plus 2 single beds and a double bed in one room with only one toilet and shower. These need to be considered against the low cost per night. If you want cheap then this is it but you need to be fully aware why. Hope this helps.
• Oliver (3/5): Stay here only if you're really really on a strict budget. Otherwise, there are way better options - The price Honestly, I am surprised why the reviews were so good. There were no lockers - the staff said "nothing happenes because we're here". I was really shocked by this because they can never be in the room at all times. The bathroom had a strange smell. Sometimes I wasn's sure whether I get out cleaner after showering. The room is just a room with the maximum amount of beds. It's not guaranteed that you get a bunk bed - it can be a double bed with a stranger or a sofa

• Camilla (9/5): Superb - Great value, comfortable bed and nice small place where you meet everyone else staying there. Peaceful surroundings, dorm stays relatively cool so doesn't need aircon, fan is fine. Alejandra was a nice, friendly host and if you like animals she has a whole menagerie. Bad drain smells at times but no fault of the owner.
• Luis (10/5): Exceptional - Beds were comfy, and the room is well-equipped for humid, hot nights. It was overall clean. The common areas are simple but good enough to chill. The host and volunteers were very friendly, too! Although location is not ideal, you get a quiet environment and it is close to the bus terminal (6-7min walk).
• Bhuvana (10/5): Exceptional - One of the best hostels in Bacalar. It is walkable from the bus station and all facilities are available. The host is very friendly and helpful with any information and booking activities. It is surrounded by nature and pets. It's a great place to stay and feel at home with the family that owns this place.
