The cottage was light and the rooms were clean. we didn’t have a car, but it was near Banavie train station, where we could take the train to Mallaig and Glasgow. Close to the Caledonian canal. We had problems with opening the key box. Since we didn’t have a car, and there wasn’t many trains or buses a day, we had to rely on taxi a bit.

- John (9/5): An excellent cottage in a central location. Spotlessly clean and furnished with quality equipment/ furniture. - The cottage is well located for Lochaber overall. It’s in a quiet location literally on the banks of the Caledonian Canal. Well furnished and spotlessly clean The underfloor heating left the property extremely hot, and despite opening the sliding doors, windows it was too hot. We tried altering the sensors to the minimum temperature but the house instructions warned not to switch the heating off, so we were limited. The beds could do with a change of mattresses. Whilst a very subjective matter, a firmer mattress would have been preferred.
