Guest Reviews
- Scott (10/5): Really warm and homely feel stay - This property made us feel so at home. It’s absolutely lovely. Rebecca sent a very helpful introduction message which explains everything you need and would like to know. Getting there, parking and entering the property was very easy. Then you walk and it’s just lovely. The pictures, canvas’s and art. Everything just fits perfectly.
There’s plenty of board games, books and toys should you be going with children. The kitchen is well stocked also. There was already tea, coffee, milk and sauces. There is a Tesco express across the road should you have forgotten anything. There was nothing to dislike or criticise about this property
- Maurice (9/5): Comfortable accommodation. Local ameneties - Clean and tidy. Comfortable and every thing you could need for a comfortable stay. Thank you. Nothing to report.
- Abigail (8/5): Lovely property and great location, definitely would stay again - The house was very homely and comfortable. The bed was definitely the best I have stayed in, unbelievably comfortable. It was very clean. The owner was also incredibly lovely and very helpful when needed. The dining table in the kitchen was incredibly tight for the space, and the pressure of the water in the shower was very poor compared to the kitchen tap; I fully understand that pressure changes from location.
- Lily (9/5): A perfect find for a cosy trip away. - The property was just as expected and more. Super cosy and homely, made even better with the Christmas decorations. It had everything we needed and the bed was the comfiest bed we’ve ever slept on. Perfect distance away from York city centre, only 18 minute drive, but be prepared for expensive parking in the city centre/difficulty finding parking spots on the weekend. However parking at the cottage was easily available and a bus stop was only down the road. Nothing major, but would’ve liked a bin in the bathroom. Apart from that everything was perfect.

- Carol (10/5): Lovely cottage - Beautifully presented accommodation. Cosy and stylish. I will be returning as soon as I can. There was nothing to dislike.
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ellen (9/5): Would certainly stay at the property again - Property was homely and perfect for a couple, with all amenities required. A welcome card and bottle of wine was a lovely welcome from host.
We found it a good base to drive to various areas during visit including Robin Hoods Bay, Whitby, Rievaulx Abbey and York.
Tesco extra within a minutes walk with major supermarkets 5 miles away was a bonus as we cooked several nights (oven slightly temperamental, however, i did find some matches in drawer)
Very comfortable stay. Property is lovely, however, on a personal level I found the feather pillows and duvet did impact upon asthma and the bed was to soft. My partner however found it so comfortable.
- Gillian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Destiny (9/5): Picturesque - Nice and quant cosy property Nothing major but would have liked a stronger/brighter light in the bathroom
- Ben (9/5): A happy and cosy stay, with good access to York. - The property was really nice and in a nice small village, away from the busy city but close enough to easily get in! We really enjoyed our stay and the bed was super comfortable! Nothing.
- Benjamin (9/5): Overall a lovely stay, very comfortable and the location was very convenient for me. - The property was well presented, the bed was very comfortable and Rebecca was an outstanding host (she provided a very comprehensive list of local amenities and place to visit) Better plugs in the bathroom (the bath plug plunger thing didn't work)
Wifi kept dropping out
- Terri (8/5): Cosy pretty quaint cottage!! - Cottage was very quaint. With beautiful log fire. Very clean and comfortable. Pretty Christmas tree with lovely decoration around the house. Shower was not powerful enough. No bedside tables in the master bedroom. No yard as seen in picture, but I didn’t ask as it was too cold to sit outside anyway.
- Lucy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ellett (10/5): Wonderful - A wonderfully cosy cottage perfect for a quiet weekend away.
- Gemma (9/5): 100% recommend - The location was great 2 mins away from the local pub which had great food. Local the bus that took us straight into York. Decorator is lovely. Cosy and comfortable. The log burner was an extra plus. Amazing time away
We will definitely be back Nothing it was lovely
- Andrew (10/5): An absolute treasure of a find and just what was needed! - Everything was thought of with lots of details that just gave it that little bit of a luxury feel. It was like a home away from home. Absolutely nothing.
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional -
- James (9/5): Wonderful little cottage - Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage was some homely and cosy. The location was just off the main street and very peaceful. There's local pubs, and a Tesco Express just a minutes walk away.
The bed was genuinely one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in, and the log burner was the cherry on top for the stay. We weren't sure about the outdoor seating situation, as it wasn't on the welcome message. But Rebecca has said she will add this going forward.
The only other thing was being a tall person, it was hard to shower, but there's no way around this due architecture of the cottage. Some lovely items were left to enjoy a bath though!
