- Benjamin (10/5): Perfect - Excellent stay, perfect location while working locally. Very clean, will definitely book again soon. Nothing, couldn't fault anything.
- Katie (10/5): Lovely clean accommodation with everything we needed -
- Helen (9/5): Spacious house with all the facilities for a fun family stay - Lots of room for our family of four, all the facilities, cute country town. I’m allergic to animals and was allergic to the house - I knew it was a pet-friendly house when I booked so that’s on me.
- Lizz (10/5): Lovely cottage with all amenities for a pleasant and comfortable stay. Very good value. - We were visiting family so checked in late at night but the cottage was very fresh, clean and welcoming on entering. Although we didn't use many facilities as we were literally out early and back late (organising grandsons third birthday party etc), there was everything provided for a comfortable stay. Great for families as a selection of toys and games provided, and dog friendly too.
Lovely touch with the welcome pack and milk in the fridge
Also next door to the local pub which was ideal for a relaxing drink after the busy day!
We would definitely recommend this cottage.
- David (10/5): Great stay at a wonderful cottage. Would definitely come again. - Wonderful place. It had everything you could need for your stay, and it was spotless. The location is conveniently located right in the centre of Crich, with a handy mini-supermarket close by, and a playground for the kids just a 2 minute walk away. It was a lovely place to stay while we explored the surrounding area, and the price was brilliant. The pictures didn't do the place justice! It was much nicer inside than it looks like in the pictures. It is worth noting that there is a pub more or less next door to the cottage, but we found that the people who came out weren't particularly noisy or disruptive...
- Hulett (10/5): -
- Ioana (10/5): Great location, great property! - Fantastic cottage - roomy enough for 4 people, with plenty of space for everyone to do their own stuff.
- Billy (10/5): Great break for a few days in a beautiful settling - The welcome pack with some treats for the kids was a lovely idea and well received, thank you
All the bedding and towels were clean and fresh smelling. Clean bathroom and kitchen.
Brilliant all round stay. Nothing to report
- jason (10/5): - Lovely spacious cottage, great location, everything we needed, can't recommend it enough.
- Lucy (9/5): -
- Elaine (10/5): - Lovely very clean anything we required
- Marcela (10/5): Cosy cottage - The cosiest cottage we could’ve picked! We were so comfortable here and would definitely come back. The location had everything we needed and the pub next door was lovely. Nothing!
- Sarah (10/5): Definitely returning - Excellent stay. The cottage is brilliant, everything you need. In the best position few doors from pub, Indian, cafe, butchers, chip shop, store.
Lovely welcome box with goodies. Looking to stay again when the weather is better. Nothing really.... Except the rain!! But not their fault
- Mandy (10/5): Fabulous little cottage with everything you need. Great location in the centre of the village. - Booked Epworth Cottage for nights. Fabulous cottage - spacious but also felt very cozy.
Very comfortable furnishings and beds. The cottage had everything we needed, the kitchen was well equipped.
We don’t have a dog, but the tidy little paved courtyard garden would be safe for dogs.
The cottage was very clean and tidy - would definitely book again when in the area.
The cottage is in the centre of the village with a pub, butchers, bakery and a well stocked convenience store - everything you need for a great few days away. Everything was great - nothing to dislike.
- Paul (10/5): - Home from home
- Paul (10/5): Home from home - Very cosy, home from home in a lovely setting. The owners left a loaf of bread and milk and there was the makings of tea and coffee to help me settle in.. although there is a nice shop a few doors down for everything else. Nothing, it was lovely.
- Daniel (9/5): Nice and inviting place to stay at - Location and lay out of he house
- Joanne (9/5): A really great stay in a lovely, comfortable little cottage right in the middle of the village. - Hosts were friendly and kept in touch in lead up to stay. Cottage was lovely and in a good location right in the middle of the village with a shop, pub, Indian restaurant and fish n chip shop all close by, plus free parking in the market square (not on property). The cottage was clean and really pretty and had all amenities needed for a comfortable stay. We would definitely stay again. The road could be noisy but it wasn’t an issue at all. I still slept well.
- Garry (10/5): Spent one of the best family Christmas's here and will look at returning for sure - The location was easy to find, everything close by if you needed anything
- Karen (10/5): Beautifully presented cottage in a great location. - Location, presentation of the house and cleanliness. N/A
- Kirsty (10/5): - Really great location, right in the middle of town. The house was very clean and tidy and had been beautifully decorated for Christmas. Very cosy and comfortable and lots of room to have our family over for a Christmas get together. Nothing!
- Charlotte (10/5): - Everything was perfect at the cottage and the added extras were a lovely touch too. (Christmas decorations and snacks). parking was a little difficult for unloading...luckily a space outside became free the next day so I parked there and didnt move til we left on the day of departure so I could load the car easier.
- Kay (10/5): A lovely cottage in a great lication - Our third stay at this lovely cottage. Clean, comfortable, well equipped and in a great location with a village shop, restaurant, bakery, takeaways and pub close by. A great base from which to explore the Derbyshire countryside and Chatsworth. Perfect for our staffy dog too with a small enclosed garden. There is nothing we didn't like
- Nishil (10/5): -
- Rebecca (9/5): -
- O'Hara (10/5): - We had everything we needed for a cosy weekend at Cottage...
- Beth (10/5): Relaxing - Clean , modern and spacious Noise from building work next door , but couldn’t be helped.
- Cheryl (9/5): Great place - Lovely place, large table for all the family just what we needed whilst visiting the area. Great shower and a lovely morning room at the back of the kitchen for coffee in the sun. Nothing we didn't like.
- Janet (9/5): Great stay in a lovely cottage. We’ll be back! - Ideal location. Lovely cottage, great facilities, comfortable and clean. Really appreciated the welcome pack. Nowhere to hang up clothes in the second bedroom.
- catherine (10/5): Amazing time thank you for letting us stay - Beautiful cottage, everything you need.
Very comfortable. Family of 5 would definitely recommend to anyone.
Lovely village Needs a blind in one of the downstairs windows as sun came through in the morning while sleeping on the bed sofa
- Jill (10/5): Perfect - A perfect stay in the quaint village of Crich with a bakery, post office, grocer, butcher , cafe and restaurant, hairdresser and beautician.
Great walking area.
Accommodation exceptional .
- Jane (8/5): -
- Louise (10/5): Excellent value for money - So much room for a 2 bed cottage.
Welcome basket and milk was a lovely touch. Very comfortable and all ages catered for even toys for little ones
- Steph (8/5): Lovely overall, just a little less peaceful than imagined - Lovely cottage with really thoughtful little touches. Very clean & comfortable. Hosts very kindly left us bread & milk. Netflix for the kids. Great local shop. Friendly staff & locals at pub round the corner gave directions to find food served elsewhere. (They had run out.) A 15 min walk up past tram museum to pub selling home made lasagne and steak pie like your mum would dish up. Basic pub, small menu but honest food. The location is really nice but surprisingly noisy with traffic for a little village. Started around 5:30am and a bin lorry loitered directly under bedroom window at 6:30am. Local pub- hard to squeeze us in through the door & had run out of pizzas by 7pm on Pizza Night. To be fair, we only stayed one night so may have just been unlucky.
- Grazyna (10/5): Go and explore. It’s beautiful! - Thank you for a welcoming basket! Beautiful cottage. Very comfortable beds. Very cosy living space. We had a great time there. Crich has lots of things to offer! Nothing
- Rebecca (10/5): Perfect stay. - Loved everything about the cottage. My little boy loved the toys and the travel cot was put up for us and ready to use. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking equipment and even had a Ninja airfryer. The pub is literally a 30 second walk!
Everything was perfect and can't wait to go back. Possibly a highchair to match the all of the child friendly things in the property.
- Virginia (10/5): The owners are delivering a nice place to stay right in the pretty village of Crich. - Location, space, facilities. Like a home from home. Recommended a few simple upgrades to really make it a top notch experience.
- Lucas (10/5): Absolutely brilliant - Excellent
- Tara (7/5): Nice cottage plan your trip to avoid businesses shut Mon and Tues - Very comfortable well equipped and clean. Cottage was great. However, we arrived for 2 nights Mon to Wed and were surprised that pub stopped food at 4pm. Fish and chip shop,, Indian and bakery were all closed for some combination of Mon and or Tues. Went to Wirksworth for dinner.
- Peter_a (9/5): Superb - The house was very comfortable, well equipped and situated in the centre of the picturesque village. Just what we needed
- Alex (5/5): Passable - The cottage was ok but needs a bit of TLC in the Kitchen and bathroom Didn't like the fact that it was very difficult to park near the cottage. Pub next door does not do meals. Bar snacks only. The local supermarket is VERY expensive. Nowhere to go and eat unless you take the car out and risk losing your parking space.
- Tim (9/5): Lovely cottage in a great location in Crich - Location is right in the centre of the village. No specific parking but roadside is free.
Excellent sized cottage, great shower, comfy beds, nice touches with a basket of food and kids toys provided also. My little chap really enjoyed those. Would definitely book again.
- Fiona (8/5): Excellent stay , very pleased . - Great location , nice cottage Parking was a way from the cottage
- Claire (10/5): Exceptional -
- Claire (10/5): Beautiful cottage in very pretty location. - Lovely cottage in a very pretty village. Thoughtful touches included milk in fridge and baked goodies for breakfast. Really comfortable beds . Would definitely recommend Nothing
- Porritt (6/5): Crich - Plenty of space, flexible sleeping options The bathroom was tired, and the shower drain was blocked.
- Michelle (10/5): Lovely cottage would recommend - Very comfortable and close to amenities.
- Marina (9/5): Superb -
- Sarah (8/5): Our stay was excellent. Host provided details for a smooth entry and all details were user friendly right in the villag - Very clean and comfortable. Good facilities and attention to detail.
- Katie (9/5): Superb - Epworth Cottage is a gorgeous little cottage in the centre of Crich. We loved the open plan living/dining room, lovely kitchen and outdoor space. The fact is was dog friendly was also a huge positive. Nothing that caused us any issues.
- Rosemary (10/5): Very comfortable property and excellent location. - Everything we needed in property and great location Nothing.
- Angela (10/5): Fabulous cosy little cottage. - Location was ideal. The cottage decor was lovely and perfect for our visit to the Tramway. There was nothing that I didn't like.
- Chris (9/5): We would have been happy to have stayed longer! - A lovely cottage very tastefully decorated with all the requirements of a home from home.
A well stocked village shop and 2 takeaways and 2 Pubs are all within 2 mins walk.
The milk, bread and Cookies on arrival is a nice welcoming touch and a good Wi-Fi connection was also appreciated.
The hosts stayed in contact up to and after our booking which was appreciated.
Thoroughly Recommended. Nothing
- Amy (9/5): Lovely spacious cottage - Large cottage with good size bedrooms and bathroom. Nice location with local amenities.
- Rachel (10/5): Great place to stay - The cottage was a great size for the 3 of us and a dog. The cottage had everything we needed for our overnight stay, with the lovely surprise of bread, milk and biscuits.
The owners were in contact prior to our stay and provided details should we have needed them whilst there.
The village had a local shop and was a great location to access the walks we had planned that weekend. There were also a few walks close by that meant we could take the dog out when needed.
- Raymond (10/5): A little Gem in the small Village of Crich - The location was ideal, very convenient for the trips we had booked and within easy reach of shops and pubs.
We found the property faultless and will definitely return.
- Hayley (10/5): Lovely comfortable cottage - Had a lovely mini stay at Epworth Cottage. It was the perfect location with our dog and there was a friendly pub only a stones throw away. The cottage was very comfortable and equipped with everything needed. A lovely touch was the milk, bread and cookies when we arrived. Would highly recommend.
- Jane (10/5): Home from home cottage close to all village amenities and some great dog walks….perfect for us! - Cottage in perfect location with on street parking available for all of our stay. Super clean and tidy with everything we could need….the double air fryer was definitely a bonus - although a dishwasher would be a good addition.
Bathroom spacious, clean with as much hot water as 4 of us needed for showers etc. Bedrooms very comfortable with good bedding and plenty of towels - all furniture downstairs made for cosy evenings. The secure small yard was perfect to let the dog out early mornings and evenings. We all felt the cottage was perfect as it is.
- Darren (10/5): Hidden Gem perfect place to stay - Loved everything Nothing at all place is perfect
- Kay (10/5): Lovely well equipped comfy cottage - A lovely cottage, comfortable, warm, well-equipped and with a small enclosed back garden which is perfect if you have a dog. A pub, shops and takeaways close by. Our second stay here visiting family in the area and we hope to return. Nothing we didnt like.
- Justin (9/5): Superb -
- Ray (9/5): Lovely stay - The cottage was comfortable, inviting and very tastefully decorated with lots of relevant equipment, even an air fryer. Mr and Mrs Taylor are super helpful and obliging. There were lovely little touches like bread, milk and cookies on arrival...brilliant as I'd forgotten bread. The cottage is in a lovely friendly neighbourhood, beautiful as well. Leaving!!
- Shears (7/5): A lovely cottage, centrally located plus near all amenities. Great Host - Property was lovely and clean, cozy and warm. Nice little "care pack" on arrival. Would suit 4 travellers. Parking was a bit hap-hazard as it was end of school day when we arrived so I would not recommend arriving around 3pm! After that we did manage to park very close each day. The Comrades Club behind can be very noisy when closing (was 12:45am on the Saturday when people were leaving) so it may not suit some travellers.
- Jill (9/5): A gem of a cottage in a beautiful area. Had a fantastic break. - Had a fantastic stay. The photos do not do it justice!! Cottage has a modern feel about it but does not lose period features. Extremely well equipped and cooking was easy. Oven hob microwave and even air fryer. Hosts were extremely responsive to any questions beforehand. Oils very happily return for longer. Being extremely picky here!! Lack of parking directly outside property means arrival is a little stressful. Plenty of parking nearby but no where to pull in to unload.
Not cottage fault but be aware most shops are closed on a Monday (not Nisa).
Stairs are steep if you have any mobility issues.
- Beverley (10/5): Thanks for a lovely stay - Lovely clean and comfortable house
- Richard (8/5): Very good - Lovely welcome basket, which added a nice touch. Well stocked with every item you could need for your stay. Great location with plenty to do and see. Lovely log burner for a cosy night in. Owners very helpful with a query about beds. Decoration in need of some minor upgrades.
- Adam (9/5): Superb -
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional - Warm and welcoming when we arrived on a chilly day in February. Modern, spacious and exceptionally clean.
Comfortable throughout, lovely sofa and bedrooms. Would love to return for longer next time.
- Ann (9/5): Great village, great house , great break . - Very spacious house , very homely in the heart of a thriving village.
Nothing overlooked to make for a comfortable stay , a proper home from home base.
Great pub and sit in or take away Indian a couple of doors away.
Lots of local walks available from the house. Patio door lock has a mind of its own , you think you've got the knack then you don't.
A tap and a bucket in the yard would make a dog owners life easier to avoid taking a dirty dog into the house.
Address finding property was confusing as the property is at the bottom of Browns Hill , not on Market Place.
Parking is pot luck outside the house, but there's always somewhere available within a minute away.
- Cathryn (8/5): Very good - Spacious & comfortable. Well placed for exploring Black Rocks & fabulous views from the top of Crich's memorial tower. Very quick responses from hosts. Not a fault of the cottage, but the nearby local Comrades club provided much for our over-sensitive dogs to bark at. Wouldn't be a problem for most guests.
- Jill (10/5): A great stat in great cottage - It was so big and comfortable and had everything you needed plus much more. nothing
- Olivia (10/5): Exceptional - The house was so clean and had everything we needed to make our stay very comfortable. The hosts were only a message away and responded very quickly if we had any problems. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely be back in the future.
- Sarah (9/5): Excellent stay. Would definitely recommend and stay again. - Very spacious. Everything you needed for self catering. Spotless. Found the heating controls difficult to work.
- Kinsley-smith (9/5): Superb -
- Best (9/5): We very much enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend Epworth Cottage. - Crich is a lovely place and Epworth cottage is very conveniently located for the pub, Indian restaurant/takeaway (which has very friendly service and good food) and convenience store. The house is well presented, very clean and feels spacious and comfortable. The kitchen is very well equipped and it was lovely to find a welcome pack with milk, bread and biscuits. It is very dog-friendly and was a very relaxing place to stay with our dog. There is a small enclosed garden at the back and good walks from the house or in the nearby vacinity. The shower is a bit weak but works ok.
- Julie (10/5): Delightful cottage in the centre of Crich - we will be returning! - This is a hidden gem of a cottage - it’s an old cottage that has been beautifully updated - very tastefully decorated. Comfortable - an unexpectedly spacious place to stay. The hosts have provided everything you need for your stay - spacious dining area and well equipped kitchen We liked everything about this cottage
- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Geoffrey (10/5): nice place in the centre of Crich. Fabulous local baker within 2 yds -
- Alan (5/5): Overnight stop - Good welcome pack, Kitchen facilities were very.good, spacious accomodation. Easy to park nearby Not particularly warm and inviting --too much grey decor with cool bright white lighting , lack of carpet underlay.
A bit noisy from neighbouring clubhouse
- Sarah (10/5): Gorgeous house lovely people - Homely Christmas feeling
- Catherine (10/5): Everything about our stay from booking to leaving was excellent - The cottage was perfect! Everything we needed was there, it was spotlessly clean and the food basket was a lovely touch.
The best self catering cottage we have stayed in. N/A
- Jodie (10/5): We will definitely be booking again - The cottage was beautiful and very spacious and homley
- Orton (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ashley (10/5): Well equipped and comfortable property, ideally situated. -
- Alex (10/5): Well located, easy to access, good parking, good amenities - Good location, cosy cottage, quiet, next to amenities.
- Tom (7/5): Good - Clean, well prepared, welcome hamper of essentials Parking is ok but not very convenient, an event in nearby bar meant we had a short walk to unload the car
- Janet (9/5): A really enjoyable stay in a lovely comfortable cottage. We’ll be back! - We loved this cottage! Great accommodation, lots of space, everything we needed, and a perfect location. We loved sitting outside too. The welcome food was much appreciated. There was nothing we didn’t like. The second bedroom would benefit from a mirror and some space for hanging a few clothes up.
- Julie (9/5): Superb - Beautifully presented cottage with great facilities.
- Arlene (10/5): A gem of a cottage in a perfect village location. - The cottage was absolutely beautiful and spotlessly clean.
It's the little touches made the cottage exceptional, the friendly communication from Mr & Mrs Taylor from the beginning, milk left for a cuppa, plus brioche. Absolutely fabulous.
The cottage is in the middle of the village with all amenities on hand and makes a great base for walking the area without having to drive.
Just super highly recommended and an absolute gem of a place.
- Bower (10/5): Fabulous cottage - Fabulous cottage in a great village location local to all amenities. Within reach of local tourist spots. Excellent communication with the owners.
- Jo (10/5): Warm and communicative hosts and a lovely place to stay. -
- Samantha (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely cottage, clean, well equipped, host were great at communication before and throughout stay. Will definitely recommend
- Danielle (10/5): Exceptional - Modern but cosy, so the teen-agers where happy. Good WiFi, baby toys in games cupboard which was nice. Biscuits, croissants, bread and milk complimentary.
Very clean, lovely location. No problems.
- Nishil (10/5): Lovely cottage with helpful hosts. Great location for trips to Matlock and beyond. Stayed before and will be returning. -
- Kelly (8/5): Relaxing stay - Beautiful cottage, everything we needed. Loved the hamper left for us, biscuits, bread, milk and croissants.
Village was really lovely, however we felt like it needed more places to eat, only really 1 chip shop and 1 takeaway. There is a pub but they stop serving food at 5pm.
Overall, a wonderful stay. N/A
- David (8/5): We found the accommodation spacious and clean, amenities within walking distance and plenty of attractions nearby - It was well situated in the village for all amenities and plenty of attractions nearby The front and back locks were fiddly to use and the small patio was slabs and stones so most dogs need grass to toilet
- Barbara (9/5): A wee gem - Lovely cosy cottage with a spacious lounge/diner. Kitchen well equipped including an air fryer. Main bedroom a great size for a longer stay. The hosts very kindly left us a generous welcome pack and on request allowed us to gain entry to the property early on arrival. Also there was a pub a couple of doors away which was very handy. Shower pressure wasn't great.
- Dominic (10/5): Exceptional -
