The hostess is kind and accommodating. Do remember it's for hi clearance vehicles/LDV or 4X4 to get to venue. Can not think of anything I would change.

- Jan-lucas (10/5): I hope to be able to make a return visit. - Peaceful and quiet with nice views. Dark nights with starry skies. Cottage is comfortable and well equipped for a couple. There was nothing to dislike.
- Tania (8/5): Very good - Location, scenery, bed, washing machine, the dog and generally everything. I think there is an electrical short in the shower area as everytime we touched the shower head and tap we would get a light shock. The shower also maybe needs a curtain or door as once we were both done the floor was soaked.
- Nicky (9/5): Highly recommended! - A comfortable cottage suitable for a couple. Beautiful views, peace and quiet, and star filled nights. Affable host who answered queries and offered suggestions for things to do. Expect to eat outside or on your laps in the sitting room. If the weather is good, the first option is perfect.
- Dion (9/5): Superb -
- Steyn (9/5): Superb -
- Melitia (5/5): Fine - It was fine Aircon was included on the booking but remotes were taken away without notice it was so hot we could not breathe, no fan and if you opend the doors for fresh air rooms were filled with bugs and mosquitoes ended up being very uncomfortable
- Marina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nkanyiso (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lindsay (4/5): Rather disappointed - Good location Kitchen utensils need upgrading
Shower in bathroom wets the whole floor
No plug in basin
Hot water issues
Wood burner glass door broken
Bed very hard

- Anne (10/5): Exceptional - Wow, what lovely accommodation! The house is very tastefully equipped: The bedroom has a very comfortable bed and the kitchen has everything one needs for self-catering purposes. The farm-style setting is extremely peaceful and beautiful! We could have stayed a few more days to enjoy the tranquility. Thank you, Niles, for a lovely Karoo country farm-style experience.
- Vossie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Liesl (9/5): A relaxing stay in a comfortable cottage to replenish your soul. - This farm cottage is a respite from the husstle and bustle. Quiet, serene, beautiful stars. Everything you need for a comfortable stay. Authentically decorated and loved the thoughtful and trusting idea to leave books for the visitors as there is no TV. No soap / body wash in the shower was unexpected, but lovely hand wash at the basin.
- Klatzko (8/5): Beautifully relaxing - The location and the cottage Lots of bugs at night and for some reason lots of thorns on the floor in the room
- Tracy-lynne (10/5): Karoo bliss - That it was far away from any lights or noise! It was super quite and you could see the stars!
If we had the time we would have stayed longer!
We will definitely recommend Sunbird and we will stay over again.
Thank Niles for your directions😊 For us the bed was too hard but we will stay over again

- Johan (10/5): Lovely setting and convenience in the beautiful Karoo. - Lovely cottage with all required amenities. Beautiful setting with great birdlife and mountains. Firewood was supplied upon request and we enjoyed the fire and star gazing in the Karoo. Highly recommended and we will be back! The 6 km gravel road was somewhat of a challenge, but not a problem if you take it slowly.
- Hickling (7/5): Good - Awesome - views were Karoo type setting. The roads…
- Regina (9/5): We could have stayed longer, happily! - Natural surroundings, various hiking opportunities, beauty of the area, privacy, nice stoep to sit and relax, very accommodating and friendly hosts, cared for interior and exterior. Really only a few minor details. Kitchen sink would have been happy with a decent plug, the coffee plunger might need to be renewed, an extra light bedsheet between duvet and mattress covers for those very warm nights.
- Leon (9/5): Superb - Great hosts. Splendid. Will definitely stay there again.
- Clinton (10/5): Tranquility at it's best...awesome place to relax and reconnect with nature. God's masterpieces. - Very clean and well furnished with lovely stoep area to watch the sunrises and sunsets. Completely separate from any other buildings in the area. Lovely Karoo thunderstorms and evening fires under the starry skies.
- Rendani (10/5): Home away from home - I loved everything about the place. It felt like home away from home. Nothing
- Olli-pekka (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderful place to enjoy nature and birdsong after a long day on the road.
- Kiela (10/5): Beautifully quiet. Secluded from the hustle and bustle. The place offers a tranquil getaway with a night sky packed with -
- Werner (10/5): Clean and hearty little cottage - The cottage was clean and in immaculate condition. The area was clean and peaceful. The only less positive feedback: The bed was a bit hard, had some stiff backs the next morning. But the quiet surroundings gave us a good night's rest.
- Sarfaraaz (8/5): Very good -
- Dixon (10/5): Exceptional - It is out of town. Quiet and peaceful
- Charmaine (10/5): Amazing ! wish we could have stayed much longer. - Everything. A beautiful cottage with all the facilities you need in a perfect location. Comfortable, clean and safe with spectacular views. A place where you can relax close to nature and forget about everything else.
The whole experience was amazing and we will definately be back.
Not one thing wrong. Nothing - everything was perfect
- Andre (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean, comfortable and quiet. Fantastic farm stay over
- Hanlie (10/5): Exceptional - The cosy house. Fireplace. Neat, tidy, clean quiet.
- Teresa (8/5): Very good - Stil skoon en goeie waarde vir geld
Sterre so mooi Bed baie hard
- Anonymous (10/5): Breathtaking landscapes, super clean & neat cosy place to stay. Owners thought of everything and we could just relax - A true gem! We had an amazing, memorable stay with breathtaking surroundings. Super clean, great quality bedding & towels. Cosy with a fireplace inside. Aircon is a great bonus and theres wifi(but try to enjoy the moment rather). There is nothing I didn't like.
- Lamyaa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tara (10/5): Wonderful Place! - Such a great cottage! Clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. The kitchen is well equipped. Gas stove/oven and lamp bulbs that hold a charge make loadshedding manageable. Really appreciated the heater in the bedroom and the wood stove in the living room while visiting in winter. Wonderful front porch for lounging and admiring the view. The area is beautiful. The host is very thoughtful and is great about communicating and providing specific directions/instructions for traveling to and accessing the property. The property is a working farm and they have mince kudu and beef available for purchase by the kilo. We loved the rural location outside of Graaff-Reinet. The 6.5km on gravel road was totally passable with our 2-wheel drive/lower clearance sedan (sections of washboard are a bit of a nuisance, but not a problem). Wish we could have stayed longer! Highly recommended.
- Heather (10/5): Exceptional -
- Derek (7/5): Good -
- Leila (10/5): Wonderful, peaceful, quaint - Clean, quirky, modern and comfy! Very warm N/A
- Labuschagne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Du (8/5): great value for money - clean classic modern style. road to get to property not great for lower cars.
- Mukapu (9/5): It was awesome. - Everything was fine but atleast you should have a tv, and milk. The dogs are all over the place and my partner doesnt like dogs at all.
- Hidden (8/5): Lovely and quiet and in a great area. - The stillness and cleanliness and area The road getting there and stronger WiFi
- Zandre (8/5): Very good -
- Ebelie (10/5): We came along a precious jewel: Sunbird - Location superb. A tranquil and beatiful farmstay. Breathing space and silence. I will never stay anywhefe else in GR if Sunbird is available. My busband found the hard matress too hard. But I know you can't please everybody...
- Sandra (10/5): Exceptional -
- Natalie (10/5): Cozy cottage under starry skies. - I cannot rate my experience highly enough. I enjoyed two weeks of peace and tranquility while still able to get necessary work done thanks to reliable WiFi (except for periods of load-shedding). Plenty of different corners of the farm to explore on long walks and wonderful birdlife. Town is just a few minutes drive away. Provision made for lighting and cooking during load-shedding. Hosts of both the human and dog variety very friendly and welcoming. If you have any sort of spider or insect phobia, this is not the place for you - better to stay in town.
- Litzia (3/5): Poor -
- Hollybrookeadventurefarm (8/5): Very good -
- Musa (9/5): Superb -
- Mariskasdelange (9/5): Karoo farm stay - Lovely stop over place. Secluded in nature.
The most amazing sunset and sunrise!
Will definitely stop over again. When it's load shedding at night, you can't open the windows for a breeze as it lets the insects in from the bush.
- Felite (2/5): Very poor - Self catering Location and the roads getting there..nobody to help us when we arrived. We couldn't get into our room so we left and found accommodation in town because it was getting dark and was going to rain.we waisted R700
- Mina (10/5): Exceptional - What a lovely gem? Everything you needed for a comfortable stay with the added openess of a farmstay.
We were nearly caught by unsuspected flash floods but the owners fixed the roads early the next day. Lovely family.
Don't stay for only one night - it's hatd to leave.
- Monja (8/5): Tranquil Karoo Overnight - Location is on a farm - peaceful and quiet but not far from the main road.
Comfortable size.
Value for money.
Neat and clean. Many insects at night - suppose it is to be expected on a Karoo farm.
No decent coffee - would have made the stay even better if there was!
- Morgan (8/5): Very good -
- Paul (10/5): Great little Karoo overnight stay -
