Guest Reviews
- Lyndsey (9/5): - Great location, comfortable cottage and clean
- Vanessa (8/5): Nice - Location Main bed small and blind needs to be darker
- Nicola (10/5): Very comfortable, enjoyed the extra touches like a welcome hamper and access to apps on TV. Excellent location, - Its character. On street and public parking - struggled to find spaces.
- Catherine (10/5): Cute and comfy little cottage - Great position. Spotlessly clean. Comfy beds. Lovely little welcome hamper Nothing
- Anne (9/5): Super cottage in Whitby - Perfect location everything in easy reach
Good communication with hosts
Clean and comfortable with everything you needed for your stay The blind in the double bedroom could of done with being a blackout blind as there was too much light from the street lamp across the road coming into the room for me to sleep properly
But that’s just my preference
- Jodie (10/5): -
- Dominic (5/5): Fair - Location was very good. Kitchen had everything needed to make a family dinner. Shower good and towels good. No dressing table or mirror in master bedroom to sit and dry hair, put make-up on etc, No access to yard or outside space. That was problematic to both of us as we both smoke
- Andrea (10/5): Would book here again definitely - Great location
Lovely clean cottage Nothing to dislike
- Emery (10/5): Superb cosy 4 storey cottage - Cosy, clean, nicely decorated. Everything you could want. Great location. Electric shower not very powerful.
- Darren (9/5): Lovely stay would definitely stay again - Location was perfect, lovely cottage with everything we needed.
- Elaine (8/5): - Fantastic location 😊. Everything you need for a long or short stay. Clean and comfortable. Would highly recommend. The car park just across the road is a 24 hour stay too which is a massive bonus in Whitby. Would get there early tho to bag a space. The stairs didn't bother us, but be aware when booking there are a few and quite steep. The lounge furniture is probably ready to be replaced, but still comfortable and perfectly usable. Just a little let down to the rest of the cottage.
- Carol (10/5): Very enjoyable would definitely come back will be letting friends know about the property - Perfect location easy access to shops N/A
- Glenn (8/5): Good location only thing no back garden -
- Marissa (9/5): Great location with great views of Whitby Harbour. - It was in a fantastic location, and very well appointed. As other reviewers have mentioned, the multiple flights of stairs and low ceilings were a bit challenging, but this was also part of the charm of the old cottage.
- Peter (9/5): Was everything we could of asked for lovely cottage - Every thing was excellent Was all good
- broad (9/5): - Was lovly and warm and location was just perfect :) we all loved it and xmas tree was a nice touch excellent
- Karen (10/5): Very relaxing, a perfect location. - Very cozy and quirky Some big mugs would be good
- Kitti (9/5): A beautiful cottage in the perfect location. A lovely way to welcome in the new year. - We loved the location and the uniqueness of the property. It was a shame the second bedroom had single beds and not a double bed. Also, the log burners would have been nice if they were real and not gas.
- Laura (10/5): One word. PERFECT. - Beautiful decor and everything is spotless. Thoughtful touches such as a hamper with biscuits and clean dishe cloths.
Perfect location for exploring this lovely town.
One word. PERFECT. That we didn't book for longer.
- Michelle (10/5): - So clean and tidy, loved the Christmas decorations too. Great location and the pub across the road is not noisy and a really lovely bonus.
- Leah (10/5): -
- Ann (10/5): Sailors Cottage - Comfortable beds, location excellent, great for parking. Really nice space inside. Caught the sun in all the rooms and as the main living room upstairs it was very quiet Nothing.
- Peter (6/5): - The house No parking. Car park opposite was always full. Had to park on the other side of the bridge
- Mark (10/5): Very comfortable and enjoyable - The whole property was amazing, very well furnished and a short walk to the old town and town centre. We travelled by motorbike and could park in the dedicated bay directly opposite the property. Nothing
- Susan (8/5): Great location. - Ideal location. Well maintained property. Good shower. Nice size rooms. Issue with signing into Netflix which owner responded too quickly. Only one hand towel between 3 of us. Some of our group struggled with the stairs in the accommodation over 4 floors.
- Victoria (7/5): - We like that we could walk to pubs & restaurant. As well walking in to town. My brother slept in the top bedroom. He found the bed very uncomfortable. The clearing was not up to a high standard..
- Deborah (9/5): What a lovely little cottage, perfect for exploring Whitby. - Perfect location to explore Whitby, with a lovely view over the river. Biscuits left for us in the hamper were lovely. Beds and pillows really comfortable,. Good quality white towels, good shower (pressure and warm water great). Sailor's cottage is quirky with lots of stairs, and low ceilings in places, but managable (with a couple of head bumps!!) Tiny but well equipped kitchen. Very clean and with a friendly neighbour who spoke to us each day. Amber (the host) was very helpful with sorting our problem with the front door on arrival. It now has a new lock and keys. Stairs were tricky for Mum, but with our help, she managed them and probably helped build her strength/mobility during the stay. It is not really suitable for people with mobility problems due to number of stairs.
- Deb (9/5): - Location , well equipped and comfy bed No air con or fans . Parking !! A bloody nightmare .
- Andrea (10/5): Thank you Amber - Location, cleanliness, home comforts, just gorgeous- we loved it. The host was in touch and made sure we had what we needed. Everything was very essy for us. We had a brilliant stay.
- David (10/5): We enjoyed a lovely 2 night stay in Whitby at Sailors Cottage and would definately stay again - Sailors Cottage is an absolute gem. It is old and quirky but really clean and well maintained. The location is perfect with only a few minutes walk into the centre. Sailors Cottage is well equipped with everything you might need. It's not really a dislike but could be an issue for lesser able ......There are 4 flights of stairs in total and the bedrooms are on the top 2 floors. Like I said, not a dislike for me.
- Alex (10/5): Great location, comfortable style - Great location, very comfy beds, absolutely spotless. Nothing, it was great.
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic location
- Linda (10/5): It was a very comfortable and relaxing stay in Whitby close to everything we needed to see family friendly and definitel - Everything 😀
Lovely little cottage, very clean and homely. A nice gesture was a lovely pack of biscuits for arrival. Also there were some bits and pieces in the cupboards in case needed. We ate out but if we needed to cook the kitchen is very well equipped. There is plenty of space in this lovely little cottage with fantastic views across the harbour. Location wise it is fantastic so close to everything you need.
Communication with Amber was fantastic answering my messages promptly checking everything was okay and if we had everything we needed
We have booked up for next year and I have told a number of people how lovely the cottage is and recommended to have a look at booking it.
😀 Nothing.
- Walton (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christopher (9/5): Lovely place , great location.. - Location was ideal 😀 Sadly at our age/ condition and living in a bungalow the steps we just too much for us 🤔
- Jason (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rebecca (10/5): Excellent stay - will definitely return. - It was clean, tidy, ideally situated and the view was lovely. The rooms were spacious and it had the quirky feel of a lighthouse. The stairs may cause problems for some as they’re narrow winding. Also - two keys would be beneficial if there is more than one couple staying to allow more freedom to come and go.
- Brendan (9/5): Sailor,s cottage ...brilliant !! - This quirky little cottage is in an ideal location for everything. Plenty of shops, restaurants, and pubs in walking distance. The cottage has lovely views across the harbour. The cottage itself is modernly furnished and the TV had Netflix. All in we had a lovely time and can't wait to book again !! The stairs might be difficult for some people but you soon remember to mind your head !! Just a shame there was nowhere to sit outside but then nearly all the pubs had beer gardens where you could sit and watch the boats go by.
- Mlynarczak (8/5): Warm and cozy ✨️ - Cute ,little, and very stylish Sailors Cottage , perfect for relaxing time.
Very good location , and also quiet place at night 👌
Lovely and romantic. We very much appreciate the small gift from the owner.
Thank you a lot, family of 4 🙂 In my opinion, my little suggestion is that checkout should be at 12.00 am.
- Sara (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wright (10/5): Exceptional -
- Claire (8/5): Lovely little cottage in the heart of Whitby. - Lovely little cottage in the heart of Whitby and the perfect base for our music festival.
- Paula (6/5): Great location - Cleaness of the property
- Neil (10/5): Exceptional - The location the facilities and the cleanliness Nothing
- Karen (8/5): Very good -
- David (8/5): Excellent weekend accessing the middle of Whitby/ -
- Jed (9/5): Superb - The facilities were great, with clear instructions on how to connect to wifi and use the amenities. The beds were very comfortable and nicely presented. Overall great cottage and would stay again.
- Kay (8/5): Lovely stay everything we needed in a central location - The cottage was quirky and decorated well with everything you need the radio was a great extra. The location was central and very near to the old town.We had a minor issue and the host dealt with it immediately and kept us informed throughout and was very helpful and friendly-thank you for your quick response and help 😊 We did struggle to park and usually we would go out and about in the car but once we found a space we couldn’t risk moving incase we couldn’t find a space on our return
- Andrew (8/5): Very clean and charming cottage - It was a beautiful view over the harbour .. easy access and a real charming cottage with loads of character, very clean and the lovely cake biscuits and crisp hamper was a wonderful touch The Pub opposite dragging out 10 -12 metal barrels after midnight making a right racket for 10-15 mins and then the bottle bin being collected at 6.20am making even more noise ... guess this may only be once a week and we were unlucky
- Calvin (9/5): Lovely stay in a traditional Cottage. - Well located cottage, comfortable, traditional and petit. Don’t expect a roomy place, this is what is expected of a small cottage. The view from the lounge into the town is great. Also a 5 minute walk and you are in the hustle and bustle. Nothing to worry about.
- Donna (10/5): Cosy, comfortable cottage in an excellent location. - Excellent location, comfortable clean bedrooms and everything you would need for a happy stay. Nothing not to like! There are a lot of stairs and low ceilings that might be a worry to some people for bathroom visits during the night! but as long as you take care we didn’t find it too much of a problem.
- Helen (10/5): Exceptional - Great location close to everything. Very clean cottage had everything we needed there.lovely bedrooms and comfortable We liked everything nothing we didn't like
- Mags (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely cottage great location.
