Randal (7/5): Centrally located apartment in the heart of the city - bustling urban experience. - We loved the service we got from our host - she was infinitely courteous, prompt and helpful with travel suggestions, minor requests for household items and questions we had along the way. She was exceptional in this way. The location couldn't be better - you can walk to almost the entire city center; we rarely hailed taxis other than going out of the city. Her suggestions for restaurants, bakeries, attractions, taxi, laundry were spot on and quite helpful. The apartment was the perfect size for us and offered the appropriate number of rooms with a pleasant courtyard to relax / eat / drink / etc. Fridge, toaster, coffee maker, dishware, glasses, even a decanter for wine, countertops, main table all great. Even the couch/bed was quite comfortable for my 12-yr old son to sleep on. Here's the only thing that was challenging for us: the noise from the street is significant. There are two wooden doors that separate you and your family from constant traffic and commotion on the busy street it's located on and they are woefully inadequate to block the noise; having said, the main bedroom offers some shielding from the noise, but not the main living area. My only suggestion to make this place a legitimate 10 rating is to invest in heavier doors or some sort of barrier for the noise outside. Once this is done, this place would be perfect and I'd gladly come back to enjoy beautiful Oaxaca once again.
