NOEL (10/5): Stunning views. - This was our 3rd stay at Plantation Barn & it didn't disappoint, it is a comfortable, very well equipped stone barn in a stunning location. The owners have thought of everything for your stay, even down to dog bowls & balls, their communication is excellent & would I'm sure help if needed during your stay. Walks from the door. There are 2 other properties which share the entrance gate, this was never a problem & you have your own parking spaces infront of cottage, garden is totally fenced in so good if you are bringing your furry friend!. There was a lovely welcome pack including wine, milk, biscuits, tea & coffee, which was much appreciated. Sitting in the garden, surrounded by the Arkengarthdale hills is stunning, sheep, pheasants & rabbits are just over the stone wall. Reeth is just a few miles down the road & has pubs, bakery, gift shops, newsagents, post office & groceries. Just a little further on is bike hire & cafe with the most delicious cakes.Richmond is 10 miles away & has the best fish & chips as well as good selection of shops. We made it to the Tan Inn this time, the highest pub in England, the food looked fantastic. Drive through Muker( lovely) take the left turn sign posted Hawes( also well worth a visit) & enjoy the stunning scenery, so much empty space, plenty of benches to sit & admire the views. Swaledale won't disappoint it is stunningly beautiful & I'm sure we will return. Nothing.
