Guest Reviews
- Jon (8/5): Beautiful place, lovely quiet location. Not for avid hot tub users - The property was quite a bit smaller than we had imagined, especially the bathroom and shower, although everywhere was well presented, clean and comfortable. The host was very easy to contact and was always at hand when needed. The hot tub is an enormous faff!! Yes it takes 3 to 4 hours to heat which isn’t too much of a problem… However…. You have to revisit the fire which is in a very tight spot every 30 - 40 minutes to check the burning wood. This means you can’t leave the property during this time. It is very easy to get dirty and smell of smoke (although you are given a glove).. so a normal heated hot tub that you would many times, we just used this one twice.
- Helen (5/5): The cottage is in a great location and is a decent size for a short stay but it’s tired and needs a bit of updating. - The location was great.
The kitchen was well equipped. Cleanliness wasn’t great.
Smelled musty and the fridge and kitchen drawers were a little grubby.
Stayed for 2 weeks but left only one spare set of towels.
Washing machine but no washing tablets.
Says tumble dryer on list but couldn’t find one.
Garden cushions are very dirty.
- Adrian (4/5): Way over priced , important details over looked but very clean and tidy! - Sorry wrote this in the wrong section! 🤭 This is written by Adrian Russels partner Jo:
Second bedroom was minute the sales photos were deceiving . The 4ft 6’ max bed had simply no room either side of the bed for a tiny bedside table and crucially a small lamp . Dimmer switch in 2nd bedroom very fragile .. often wouldn’t turn on and regularly down lighters flashed on and off. It was other than this nicely appointed but my biggest gripe was it was very very small and I don’t feel deserved the hefty price tag per night . The correct code in the key safe!
Electric down lighters that often didn’t turn on,and flash
We drove for 5 hours , to find wrong safe key code given in sales details… not impressed that it took the given contact a while to return our multiple calls. BTW there was no apology given, apparently the management company had not changed the key safe code. I am struggling to stand for long periods of time due to a back injury at the present time .. the long period trying to release the key irritated my condition.
constantly
Towels in the guest room would have been nice. Had to use the shower mat left in bathroom !
Bedside tables on both sides of bed, master only managed one side table and light.
- Joseph (4/5): Nice enough place - but not luxury - The location was great and it is a cute, small cottage in a lovely area. The hot tub takes too long to heat (4+ hours) so it isn’t practical for people like us with a small child. Only enough wood was provided to use it once. The coffee machine is mentioned in the advert but they didn’t actually provide any coffee. No tv in bedroom feels like a miss. Advertised as a luxury break but it really isn’t. The back yard / garden is very bland with paving and a patch of artificial grass, not ideal if you have any kids. >£1k for 5 nights is very expensive for what you get.
- Andrea (9/5): brilliant stay - lovely decoration excellent location the frying pan did not work on the hob
- Bethany (10/5): Beautiful cottage, great location! - Beautiful cottage! Everything we needed. Hot tub was a great touch. We loved the complimentary wine and biscuits, lovely touch! We played the games that were available too!
Very clean and beautifully decorated. Perfect location for Chester. We visited Chester zoo (20 mins away) and Cheshire Oaks designer outlet (20 mins away).
Local Chinese takeaway don’t deliver, but was only a 4 min drive away from the cottage, so not a problem. Coop only 5 mins away too for any essentials and food.
We would definitely stay again. Thank you! If you’re only staying one night, you’re very limited to how much you can use the hot tub, as it takes 4 hours to heat up. So once you’ve checked in at 4pm, realistically you only have 2 hours to use, as you’re not allowed to use it later than 10pm. This wasn’t a problem for us, as we stayed two nights, and it stayed warm for day 2, but thought it was worth mentioning for those staying 1.
- Annette (8/5): Very good -
- Bethany (9/5): Amazing cottage would stay again - Great little cottage, was very very pleased when we arrived. Two great sized bedrooms, had plenty of room for our travel cot. Check in with the key box was super easy. The whole cottage was very nicely decorated throughout. The whole place felt very bright and clean with everything thought of for a great visit.
Had everything we could think of, but a fan would have been nice to have, as it got very warm upstairs.
Hot tub was a great addition and garden was so neat and clean. Bedroom was very warm to sleep in, which with a toddler was not ideal. Couldn’t open the window as needed blackout blind up to stop light coming in from neighbouring house.
Wasn’t any counter space in the bathroom to put anything such as toothpastes/toothbrushes that you wouldn’t put in a drawer.
Few scuffs on the walls and parts missed when cleaning such as pizza box behind the sofa and petals behind the bed.
Internet was little weak the second night and think it affected the TV and smart services working.
