• R.P.M.E. (6/5): Teleurstellend - Mooie locatie langs riviertje. Staf was vriendelijk Zwaar verouderd, heeft flinke update nodig. Seizoen was nog niet begonnen, er waren geen enkele voorzieningen (bar/restaurant).

• Christine (8/5): A beautiful place to stay while visiting family in the area. - The location was superb and we had a loo with a view! CoolcowerHouse has great character and it was dressed nicely for Christmas. There’s plenty of convenient parking. The staff are very friendly. The beds are comfy. There was a useful table and chairs by the window. Everything was very clean and the shower was great. The breakfasts were very nice. The heating went off a bit early for us on a cold night - around 10 p.m. it was fine when we got up but we were cold during the night. The outside entrance has a door on a VERY strong spring, but we learned to jump out of the way pretty quickly (it reminded us of Arkwright’s till in Open all Hours 🤣)

• Moore (8/5): - I love supporting small family owned businesses. This hotel was built in the 1800's and is managed by a mother son, inherited from her family. Yes, it is old, but with that in mind, they are doing a lovely job. Excellent views on the river. Wonderful breakfast. Kind and thoughtful hosts. You can hear through the walls. (Old building).

• Geert (8/5): Fijne overnachting op een fantastische plek. - Fantastische plek en goede service. Ondanks dat het gebouw verouderd is heeft het zeker z’n charme. John’s pizza peperoni was heerlijk! Kamers een beetje gehorig (maar niet onoverkomelijk)

• Rachel (6/5): Expensive and very quiet - Breakfast was nice but small, best thing was how cheap the pints where €5.60 for coors, the grounds a nice and the lake is pretty Food is very expensive and not alot to pick from, also it's a 40 min walk to the town, also taxis in area are very scarce. Place is very much dated but some people like that, also good stops at 8:30pm and the bar closes early also.

Mijn kamer (single room) kon een likje verf gebruiken en er zitten wat beschadigingen aan alle muren. Bij de tafel voor de waterkoker zat geen stopcontact, dus je moet deze verplaatsen naar een nachtkastje of de vloer.

• Frank (9/5): - A long driveway up to the house covered by overhanging trees it reminded me of Dark Hedges in Northern Ireland. The house is very old but has character don't expect five star. It's well worth the price. The food was nice. Staff were very pleasant. Lots of parking even for buses. Near to Cork city and Killarney. The beds were very comfortable. The outside overlooks the River Lee. Personally, I liked it. It might not suit everybody.

• lynsey (4/5): Check the room you’re staying in has been updated - The staff and breakfast were exceptional. The location was good, lovely view of the water. We stayed in the only two rooms that had not been updated unfortunately ( rooms #8 and #9) (I peeked in other rooms as I was leaving - doors were open /waiting to be turned over and saw that they looked lovely) One of our rooms ensuite bathrooms had a toilet that was not sealed and so the smell of sewage /gases was shocking. We arrived at midnight due to a late flight so were not in a position to bring it to the attention of anyone so just stayed there for the one night.
• Christy (7/5): Pleasant experience in an old manor house. - We liked the house, dining rooms etc. The staff were friendly and helpful. The grounds have many mature trees and there are pathways to take a walk, which we did. The car park was spacious and there is a lovely view of the River Lee from the house. The room we occupied was once part of a larger room. Therefore it was a little small, and the ensuite which was built within the space made that even smaller. We suggest replacing the bath for a shower and making other changes that would help to make it more functional. A beautiful old timber wardrobe was a little too big for the room. The grounds, especially the trees are in need of maintenance. There are several mounds of soil and stones dumped around the stems of the trees. This looks untidy and the extra weight on tree roots will cause damage, leading to decline and early death of the trees. This lack of management takes from the visual appearance of the grounds

• Christine (8/5): Un séjour agréable - Le cadre avec un parc verdoyant et une jolie vue. La réactivité et la gentillesse du personnel. Le cosy de l'intérieur. Les fortes odeurs venant de la salle de bain qui revenaient tous les jours malgré les efforts du personnel.

• Sandra (8/5): Lovely old hotel with great river outlook - This is a lovely old hotel, built in the 1920's after the previous hotel burnt down. Lovely '20s decor throughout. Our room overlooked the river and was a great size, blissfully quiet and the bed was comfy. Good shower pressure. Breakfast was great, plenty to choose from. Staff very friendly and helpful. All in all a great place to stay. Nothing at all, enjoyed our stay.
